Phyllis A. Brown
SULPHUR -- Graveside services for Phyllis Alberta Brown, 83, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Oaklawn Cemetery with the Rev. Bob Moody, Karen Hall, Dub and Kidd Tolliver officiating.
Mrs. Brown died June 29, 1997, in Ardmore. She was born Feb. 10, 1914, at Bliss, to Franklin O. and Clara B. Holmes Runkle.
She moved to Sulphur at the age of 5 to attend the Oklahoma School for the Deaf and graduated from there in 1936. She worked at the school 15 years. She was a member of Sulphur United Methodist Church. She and Tince Brown were married Sept. 2, 1938. He preceded her in death Oct. 17, 1972.
Survivors include her daughter, Carolyn Tolliver, Roff; a sister, Doris Baird, Los Angeles; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Clagg Funeral Home will direct services.

Joe Rice
MILO -- Graveside rites for Joe Rice, 64, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Milo Cemetery with the Rev. Philip Fox officiating.
Rice died June 29, 1997, in the Healdton hospital. He was born Oct. 22, 1932, in Healdton, to L.M. and Susie Noble Rice.
A resident of Healdton most of his life, he attended Murray State College and worked as a bookkeeper for oil field construction companies. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of First Christian Church.
Survivors include a son, Steve, Healdton; a daughter, Rae Donna Gamon, Denton, Texas; a brother, George, Little Rock, Ark.; and three grandchildren.
Reser Funeral Home will direct services.

Ramona Horstman Cross
SEATTLE, Wash. -- Ardmore native Ramona Horstman Cross died May 12, 1997, at the Swedish Hospital in Seattle, Wash.
Born May 19, 1935, to Tom and Maggie Ellen Granand Horstman, she was reared in Ardmore and lived there many years before moving to Seattle.
She is survived by a son, Cliff Spragens; two daughters, Sherry Parrott and Michele Cross; a grandson, Chris Parrott; and granddaughter, Lexie Spragens, all of Seattle; four brothers, Jimmy Horstman, Fallon, Nev., John Horstman, Oregon, Tom and Richard Horstman, Phoenix, Ariz.; and three sisters, Ida Phillips, Pittsburgh, Pa., Betty Wilson and Jean Kirby, Phoenix.

Franklin Dale Ramsey
WILSON -- Services for Franklin Dale Ramsey, 49, will be 3 p.m. Tuesday in the Alexander Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Paul Phipps officiating. Interment will follow in Hewitt Cemetery.
Ramsey died June 26, 1997, at his home in Long Beach, Miss. He was born Dec. 28, 1947, in Ardmore to Ernest L. and Odean Ashley Ramsey.
He was reared in Wilson, and graduated from Wilson High School in 1965. He entered the U.S. Army that year and served for 14 years. He received his associate degree in applied science and general business from El Paso Community College in El Paso, Texas, then moved to Minnesota where he worked as a cashier for the Grand Casino in Hinckley. He had worked for the casino in Mississippi for the past two months. He was preceded in death by his father July 12, 1985; and his grandfather, Leonard Ashley.
Survivors include his daughter, Shannon, of the home in Long Beach; a son, John; and his mother and stepfather, Clifton and Odean Gary, all of Zapata, Texas; his grandmother, Gertie Ashley, Wilson; and two brothers, Karmon, Lone Grove, and Randy, Dallas.
Bearers will be Jerry Allen, Allen Boydston, and Steve, Curtis, Bryan and Randy Ramsey.

Raymond A. Hill Sr.
DURANT -- Services for Raymond "Ray" A. Hill Sr., 76, will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Western Meadows Baptist Church with the Rev. Rodney Cook officiating. Interment will be in Old Church Cemetery, Bennington.
Born Oct. 12, 1920, in Oxford, Miss., to Willie Frank and Annie Spruell Hill, he died June 27, 1997, in Denison, Texas.
He entered the U.S. Marine Corps, served in World War II and retired as a master sergeant in 1961. He was with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers from 1961 to 1981.
Hill married Jimmie Shoemake Sept. 20, 1947, in Oceanside, Calif.
Other survivors include his wife, of the home; one son, Raymond A. Hill Jr., Ardmore; one daughter, Mary Susan Johnson, Durant; two brothers, Howard Hill, Canton, Miss. and Robert Hill, Jackson, Miss.; one sister, Q'Milla Lovelady, Oxford, Miss; and two grandchildren. He is preceded in death by one brother, Willie Frank Hill Jr.
Bearers will be Tommy Hearon, Mike Oden, Merle Devereaux, Randy McGinnis, Ken Blackburn, Allen Serner and Jerry Ellis. Honorary bearers will be members of Adult ISS Class of Western Meadows.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 4 p.m. today at the Murray Funeral Home.

Harry Lee King Sr.
ENID -- Services for Henry Lee King Sr., 75, will be at 10 a.m. Monday in the Emmanual Baptist Church with the Rev. Wade Burleson officiating. Interment will follow in the Enid Cemetery.
Born Nov. 30, 1921, in Clarita, to Hollie and Euna Francisco King, he died June 27, 1997.
King attended the Bromide schools and went to C.C. Camp before joining the U.S. Marine Corps and serving in the South Pacific during World War II.
He married Dorothy Mae Taylor on May 17, 1945, in Tishomingo. They operated a grocery store in Bromide before moving to Ardmore in 1947. He graduated from Ardmore Business School and was employed by O.G.&E until his retirement. He moved to Enid in 1960.
King was a past president of the Exchange Club and member of Emmanuel Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; two sons, Henry Lee King Jr., Enid and Robert King, Tulsa; two sisters, Loretta Norman and Jetta McRae, both of Ardmore; one brother, James King, Healdton; and four grandchildren. He is preceded in death by one sister.
Services are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Myrtle Holine Knight
SULPHUR -- Services for Myrtle Holine Knight, 75, will be at 10 a.m. Monday in the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Eddie Malphrus officiating. Interment will be in Oaklawn Cemetery.
Born Nov. 2, 1921, in Baum to Sam and Ethel Cavner West, she died June 27, 1997, in Sulphur.
Mrs. Knight was a cook at the Oklahoma School for the Deaf for 20 years and had also been a cook at Sulphur High School.
She married Newton "Bud" Knight June 8, 1980, in Las Vegas. He survives, of the home.
Other survivors include one daughter, Sharon Knight, Sulphur; two stepdaughters, Linda Mitchell, Redding, Calif., and Mary Sue Boatman, Sulphur; two stepsons, Billy Gene Knight, Shawnee and Tony Knight of California; two brothers, Robert West, Elmore City, and Sam West, Ardmore; one sister, Bonnie Sampley, Ardmore; three grandsons; and five great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by a brother, Vernon West, and a sister, Maxine Hilliard.
Bearers will be Junior Baumgardner, Keith Smith, Ricky McNeil, Ricky Roady, Charles Meeks and Charles Tingle. Honorary bearers will be Dave Riley and Don Garrison.
Services are under the direction of Clagg Funeral Home.

Lois Velma Richardson Rich
RINGLING -- Services for Lois Velma Richardson Rich, 77, will be 2 p.m. today in the Church of Christ. Tim Cooke and Roy Hannah will officiate. Interment will follow in Ringling Cemetery.
Born Jan. 9, 1920, in Nocona, Texas, to Willie and Mary Ethel Austin Richardson, she died June 27, 1997, in the Healdton hospital.
Mrs. Rich sold Avon products for many years and was a member of the Church of Christ. She married Obed F. "Tobe" Rich Jan. 18, 1936. They lived in the Oscar and Grady areas before moving to Ringling in 1965. He preceded her in death Jan. 4, 1991. She was preceded in death by one son, Dennis Ray Rich, two brothers, Burl and Earl Richardson, one sister, Dorothy Blackwell, and one grandson.
Survivors include three sons, Leo Rich, Wilson, Gary Don Rich, Healdton, and Larry Rich, Olney, Texas; one brother, Norman Richardson, Ryan; two sister, Myrl Tripp, and Joyce Thomas, both of Ringling; 15 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
Bearers will be Jay Thomas, Johnny Thomas, Dean Blackwell, Dale Richardson, Cozell Blackwell and Ronnie Harbour. Honorary bearers will be Jerry Tripp and Tommy Black.
Reser Funeral Home will direct services.

Laurie LeeAnn Kirkpatrick
TISHOMINGO -- Services were Saturday for Laurie LeeAnn Kirkpatrick, 43. Interment was in Condon Grove Cemetery, Milburn, directed by the Corbin Funeral Home.
Born Dec. 15, 1953, in Ada to Harold Ray and Novice Juanita McCarthick Kirkpatrick, she died June 25, 1997, in Oklahoma City.
Ms. Kirkpatrick was an aide at McCalls Chapel and a 15-year Pontotoc County resident. She attended Artesia High School, Artesia, N.M., and Murray State College. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Artesia.
Survivors include her mother, Tishomingo, and father, Gordonville, Texas; grandmothers, Ruby Adams of Oklahoma City, and Mary McCarthick, Tishomingo; four brothers, Hal Kirkpatrick, Norman, Clendon Kirkpatrick, Artesia, Luther Kirkpatrick and Lee Kirkpatrick, Gordonville; one stepsister, Lisa Graves, Kansas City, Kan. She was preceded in death by grandfathers, Jack Adams and Harold McCarthick.

Bennie Frank Haggard
DUNCAN -- Services for Bennie Frank Haggard, 72, will be 1:30 p.m. Monday in the Parkview Baptist Church with the Rev. Randy Overstreet officiating. Interment in Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
Born Sept. 24, 1924, in Valley View, Texas, to Franklin and Minnie Atkinson Haggard, he died June 27, 1997, at his home.
Haggard worked for Sun Oil Company 36 years before he retired in 1983. He also owned and operated a motorcycle shop in Duncan more than 30 years. A graduate of Ada High School, he attended East Central University.
A World War II veteran, he served with the U.S. Army in the South Pacific. A Duncan resident since he left the military, he was a member of Parkview Baptist Church, the Scottish Rite Society of McAlester, Duncan Masonic Lodge 60, a past master of the lodge and a 32nd degree Mason.
He married Mary Latham Jan. 21, 1984, in Duncan. She survives, of the home.
Other survivors include four sons, Terry Haggard, Slidell, La., Garry Haggard, Ardmore, Donnie Haggard, Wichita, Kan., and Kevin Haggard, Dallas; one daughter, Karen Haggard, Duncan; three stepdaughters, Sherry Horn, Stroud, Vicki Latham, Duncan, and Jackie Ferris, Dallas; nine grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; one great-grandchild; four step great-grandchildren.
Bearers will be family members. Honorary bearers will be members of Duncan Masonic Lodge 60.
Services under the direction of the Don Grantham Funeral Home.

Victor M. Spratt
Funeral service for Victor M. Spratt, 94, will be Wednesday morning at 10:30 a.m. in Harvey-Douglas Chapel. Private committal service will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
The son of the late Andrew and Elma Cass Spratt, he was born April 28, 1903, in Odell, Crawford County, Ark., and passed away June 29,1997, in the local hospital following an extended illness.
He married the former Alma Gourley Aug. 20, 1931, at Van Buren, Ark., and moved to Ardmore in 1946. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of First Presbyterian Church where he served as a deacon.
Spratt began working in the oil fields at age 13 as a water boy and retired as district superintendent for Phillips Petroleum Co. in 1962 after 49 years in various oil field related jobs.
"Dock," as he was known by his immediate family, and "Arkie," as he was known by his friends and associates, will be remembered for his fairness, sound judgment and compassion. He will be genuinely missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Alma, of the home; a son, Victor M. "Jack" Spratt Jr., and his wife, Pat, of Anchorage, Alaska; a sister, Mary Spratt Griffin; two grandchildren, De Lois Ann Spratt-Pullar of Orlando, Fla., and Steven Nelson Spratt of Anchorage; four great-grandchildren, James Edward, Dustin Steven Dennis and Zachary Daniel Pullar of Concrete, Wash., and Aurora Elizabeth Spratt-Pullar, Orlando, Fla. He was preceded in death by brothers, William Leroy, Aldo Irving, and Walter Johnson Spratt; sisters, Stella Spratt Sautherwhite and Mertle Spratt Lowe.
Serving as bearers will be Vincent H. Gourley Jr., Vincent H. Gourley III, Albert Riesen Jr., William E. Murrah, Steven N. Spratt and Eldon Clark. Honorary bearers are Donald E. White, William E. McClanahan and Freeman P. Galt.

Dovie M. Davis
MILBURN -- Graveside rites for Dovie Mae Davis, 75, were scheduled for 2 p.m. today at Condon Grove Cemetery with the Rev. Joey Lansdale officiating.
Mrs. Davis died June 28, 1997, in Broken Arrow. She was born April 5, 1922, at Kenefic, to John W. and Pearl Cherry Ritchie.
She had been a resident of Johnston County most of her life and was a member of Tishomingo Senior Citizens Ceramics. She and Alvin T. "Tibe" Davis were married April 12, 1946, at Durant. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Sam, Curtis and Troy Ritchie.
She is survived by two daughters, Janice Pendley, Broken Arrow, and Wanda Davis, Newcastle; and three grandchildren.
Bearers were John Sneed, Travis Pendley, Brian Little, Kenne Locke, William and John Davis.
Corbin Funeral Home directed services.
