TISHOMINGO -- Services for Guy W. Houser, 79, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Corbin Chapel with the Rev. Tom Caldwell officiating. Interment will be at Condon Grove Cemetery, Milburn.
Houser died June 29, 1997, in Tishomingo. He was born Sept. 1, 1917, at Milburn, to Eugene T. and Johnie M. Whitwell Houser.
A lifelong resident of Johnston County, he was a merchant and member of Chamber of Commerce. He and Dessie Garrett were married Dec. 15, 1942, in Tishomingo.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; a son, Gary, Tishomingo; and two daughters, Sue Griffith, Newcastle, and Peggy Shaffer, Tishomingo. He was preceded in death by 11 brothers and sisters, Vira Horton, Virginia Herd, Maude Washington, Garda Hoard, Jimmie Harkins, Walter, Eugene, Luther, Paul, Cloys and C.B. Houser.
Bearers will be Johnny Herd, Charles, Boyd, Rick, Stanley and David Houser. Honorary bearers are Etcyl Osborne, John Hopkins, Herb Hanlin, Franklin Stallings, Chris Wheeler, Keith Parks and John H. Davis.
TISHOMINGO -- Services for Don V. Tate Sr., 81, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Corbin Chapel with the Rev. Lisa Crone officiating. Interment will be at Tishomingo Cemetery.
Tate died June 29, 1997, in Houston. He was born June 21, 1916, at Coleman, to Don F. and Odelia Gaforth Tate.
He attended Milburn High School and Haskell Business College in Lawrence, Kan., and worked as an accountant. He was a member of Tishomingo Methodist Church, Scottish Rite and Lodge Council Chapter Consistory Valley of Southern Illinois. He was also a life member of the Lions Club and a perpetual member of Lodge 91, AF&AM.
Survivors include his wife, the former Frances L. Rhea, of the home; two sons, Don Jr., Santa Fe, Texas, and Robert, Tampa, Fla.; two daughters, Julia Galvez, Tulsa, and Pamela Newcomb, Evansville, Tenn.; three sisters, Lorraine Ogden, Tulsa, Lea Bronaugh, Cleveland, and Mary Ford, Beggs. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Zack and Wyeth; and two sisters, Juanita Mckee and Donene Deaton.
Bearers will be E.J. Tolbert, Jerry House, Wallace Coppedge, Paul Roan, Ray Lokey and Robert Goodin.
TECUMSEH -- Graveside service for former area resident E.C. Mehagan Jr., 60, Shawnee, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Highland Cemetery.
Mehagan died June 29, 1997, in Oklahoma City. He was born March 7, 1937, at Poteau, to Elijah C. and Vivian D. Bressie Mehagan.
He attended school at Sulphur and Lone Grove and worked in electronics with Dresser Industries in Houston before opening a doughnut shop in Shawnee in 1973. He was a musician and member of the Assembly of God Church. He and Enola Gay Harris were married Oct. 3, 1973, at Gainesville, Texas.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; three sons, Gary, Germany, Paul and Greg, Ardmore; a daughter, Loretta Hall, Moore; two brothers, David, Kansas City, Mo., and Paul, Earlsboro; five sisters, Louise Batson, Tulsa, Leota Trammell, Shawnee, LaRhea Miller, Oklahoma City, Esther Richey, Kansas City, Mo., and Ruth Smith, Tecumseh; and 15 grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation.
Cooper Funeral Home will direct services.
ENID -- Services for former Ardmore resident Harry Lee King Sr., 75, were Monday at Emmanuel Baptist Church. Interment was at Enid Cemetery.
Born Nov. 30, 1921, at Clarita, to Hollie and Euna Francisco King, he died June 27, 1977.
He attended Bromide school and the C.C. Camp before joining the Marine Corps and serving in the South Pacific during World War II. He married Dorothy Mae Taylor May 17, 1945, at Tishomingo, and they operated a grocery store in Bromide before moving to Ardmore in 1947. He graduated from Ardmore Business School and was employed by OG&E Electric Services until he retired. He moved to Enid in 1960. He was a member of Exchange Club and Emmanuel Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; two sons, Henry Jr., Enid, and Robert, Tulsa; two sisters, Loretta Norman and Jetta McRae, Ardmore; a brother, James, Healdton; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister.
Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home directed services.
MARIETTA -- Services for Bobby Lee Dean, 73, will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Kennedy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tommy Higle officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery.
Dean died June 30, 1997, at a local health care facility. He was born Feb. 17, 1924, in Marietta, to Sam and Effie Reech Dean.
He had been a resident of Marietta most of his life and was in the automotive paint and body business before he retired. He was a member of First Baptist Church and Woodmen of the World. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gertrude, April 27, 1978; a sister, Irene Gwin; and brother, Bud.
He is survived by a sister, Voncille Underwood, Marietta.
Bearers will be Weldon Odell, Carol Davis, Vernon Gwin, Hubert Davis, David Patton and Dale Jones.
MARLOW -- Graveside service for Richard M. Amant, 77, will be at 9 a.m. Thursday at Marlow Cemetery with the Rev. Morris Cleveland officiating.
Amant died July 1, 1997, in the Duncan hospital. He was born Nov. 1, 1919, at Stidam, to Jessie and Mary Amant.
A retired tool pusher for Sutherland Well Service, he lived in Wilson 30 years before moving to Marlow 12 years ago. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He and Artents McCormick were married July 2, 1984, in Wichita Falls, Texas.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; a son, Richard G., Healdton; three daughters, Carolyn Bridges, San Ramon, Calif., Diane Davies, Bray, and Elaine Cleveland, Carterville, Mo.; several brothers and sisters; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home will direct services.
OKLAHOMA CITY -- Graveside services for Otho Lynol Scott were scheduled for 9 a.m. today at Resthaven Memory Gardens Cemetery in Oklahoma City.
Scott died June 30, 1997, in Ardmore, at the age of 83. He was born June 24, 1914, at Marietta, to Charlie B. and Ida Jackson Scott.
Otho married Stella Fell Nov. 25, 1964, in Norman. Before he retired he was a supervisor for Oklahoma Natural Gas Co. He attended Walker Avenue Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Stella, Oklahoma City; daughter, Marilynn Scott, Ardmore; sisters, Lina Mae Morris of Seminole, and Edith "Eadie" Morrison of Norman; grandchildren, Joe Pixler of Lubbock, Texas, Candise Monroe of Grand Prairie, Texas, Danny Pixler, Wichita Falls, Texas; great-grandchildren, Marcus W. Pixler, age 10; Aaron J. Pixler, Age 7. Scott was preceded in death by two brothers, Earl and Everett; and a sister, Betty Ruth.

Graveside services for William Thomas Collier, 86, will be 10 a.m. Monday at Maple Hill Cemetery, Kansas City, Kan., with Clayton Cook officiating.
Born Dec. 27, 1910, at Kansas City, to William Edward and Lula Anderson Collier, he died July 2, 1997, at a local hospital following an extended illness. He married Wanda Margaret Thurlow on June 28, 1946, at Kansas City. She preceded him in death on April 1, 1997.
Collier worked as a punch press operator for many years.
He is survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Services are under the direction of Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home.
Services for Charles Vernon Ervin, 66, will be 2 p.m. Monday at Craddock Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Bob Lee officiating. Interment will follow at Provence Cemetery.
Born May 30, 1931, at Ardmore to Mark and Fay Stanford Ervin, he died July 3, 1997, at an Oklahoma City hospital.
Ervin graduated from Dickson High School and received his busines degree from Louisiana State University. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. Ervin had been a resident of Oklahoma City for the past 15 years. He retired in 1993 as an auditor for the Corporation Commission. Ervin was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his mother; four sisters, Juanda Brokob, Borger, Texas, Carol Layne, Oklahoma City, Beverly Berryhill and Mary Shrum, both Ardmore.
WILSON -- Graveside services for F.A. Dumas, 81, a lifelong Wilson resident, will be 10 a.m. Monday at the Bomar Point Cemetery with the Rev. Ray Hannah officiating.
Born April 19, 1916, at Reck, to Robert "Bob" L. and Bessie Thompson Dumas, he died July 3, 1997, at the Ardmore veterans center.
Dumas was a retired oil field worker. He attended school at Zaneis, and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He married Lillie Baker Mayton July 12, 1947, at Gainesville, Texas.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; one daughter, Karletta Stewart, Fort Worth, Texas; one son, Robert, Woodward; a stepdaughter, Treva Smith, Wilson; two stepsons, Chuck and L.D. Mayton, both of Ardmore; two sisters, Alice Reynolds of California and Carol Allen, Lone Grove; six grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three stepgreat-grandchildren.
Bearers will be Dierk Smith, Mark Slover, Hurshel Austin, Joe Paul Beavers, Dale Vernon and Johnny Turner.
Services under the direction of the Alexander Funeral Home.
ETHEL, Ark. -- Graveside rites for Ethel Jenkins, 81, will be 2 p.m. Monday at Chute Cemetery with the Rev. Curtis Brown officiating.
Born Feb. 17, 1916, at Ethel, Ark., to Willie and Leona Criswell Poston, she died July 3, 1997, at Tishomingo. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Jenkins, in 1973.
Mrs. Jenkins grew up in Arkansas and lived in California for several years before moving to Oklahoma. She had lived in the Mill Creek area for the past 20 years. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary McDonald, Mill Creek, and Helen Lindell, Midwest City; one son, George Harold Jenkins, Tujunga, Calif.; one brother, W. H. Poston, St. Charles, Ark.; three sisters, Christine Brown, Texarkana, Ark., Lucy Smith, DeWitt, Ark., and Ida Lee Berry, Breckenridge, Texas; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services are under the direction of Clagg Funeral Home.
Services for Ella Mae Breath-Martin, 56, will be 2 p.m. Monday at Macedonia Baptist Church with Elijah Mitchell and Harold Brewer officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Gene Autry.
Born July 18, 1940, at Tatums to Limuel and Berline Antwine-Breath, she died July 1, 1997, at a local hospital following an extended illness. She married George Martin on Jan. 24, 1981. He preceded her in death on March 3, 1996.
A lifelong resident of Love and Carter counties, she attend Berwyn-Lincoln Consolidated School and graduated from Ardmore Douglass High School in 1958. She attended Aladdin's Beauty School and received her beautician license. She was a member of the Macedonia Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Kevin Halstied and Mickal Smith; six daughters, JoElla Breath, Karen Willis, Trudy Diana, Violet and Shameka Halstied, all Ardmore; three sisters, Ethel Mae Black, JoAn Jones and Ida Mae Breath, all Oklahoma City; two brothers, Melvin Breath, Oklahoma City, and Charles Henry Breath, Shawnee; grandmother, Charity Bell Antwine, Ardmore; and 13 grandchildren.
Bearers are Van Howard, Martin Maytubby, Robert Musgrove, Ricky Horton, Vincent Dotson and Charles Smith. Honorary bearers are Barbara Willis, Dorothy Banks, Charlotte Howard, Linda Graham, Elnora Gay, Donna Horton and Renita Dotson.
The family will receive friends at Kirk-Dawson-Dillard Funeral Home Chapel from 8 to 9 tonight.
Graveside services for Tyler Montana Wescott, infant son of William and Tonya Wescott, will be 10 a.m. Monday at Rose Hill Cemetery.
He was born and died July 5, 1997, at Ardmore.
Survivors include his parents, of the home; two brothers, Dakota and Michael Wescott, of the home; grandparents, Pat and Larry Weant; grandmothers, Mary Odisho and Margie Cox; and great-grandparents, Gene and Dot Wealand.
Services are under the direction of Craddock Funeral Home.
HEALDTON -- Services for Vernie O. Walk, 76, will be 10 a.m. Monday at Reser Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Pat Maniscalco officiating. Interment will follow at Hewitt Cemetery, Wilson.
Born Oct. 3, 1920, at Healdton to John W. and Pearlie Darr Walk, he died July 4, 1997, at an Ardmore hospital. He married Hazel Sharrock in 1957. She preceded him in death in 1974. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Artie and Clarence Walk; and one sister, Ruby Patrick.
Walk lived most of his life in Healdton. He served in the U.S. Army in Italy during World War II and received the Purple Heart, Bronze Star, Good Conduct Medal and the Driver's Medal. After the war he worked for Lane Wells Perforating and the Dowell Chemical Company, retiring in 1979. Walk was a member of the First Christian Church.
Survivors include one brother, Johnnie, Healdton.
Bearers are nephews Rick Walk, Roger Walk, Terry Walk, Derek Steele, Daryl Steele and Ronny Patrick.
