WALTERS -- Services for Kelley Weddle, 50, Lone Grove, will be 10 a.m. Monday at Emerson Baptist Church with the Rev. Stanley Baker officiating. Interment will follow at Walters Cemetery under the direction of Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home.
Born March 28, 1947, west of Walters to Aaron and Ruth Weddle, he died July 25, 1997, near Drumright.
Weddle grew up in the Ahpeatone Community, where he attended school for several years before graduating from Chattanooga High School. He lived most of his life in southern Oklahoma, as well as a few Texas towns such as Crowell. As a young man he worked as a ranch hand for the Pitchfork Ranch. Later he began doing some trucking and eventually went to work as an agriculture pilot in the crop dusting industry.
He married Mary Ann Gray on May 8, 1981, at Shawnee. For the past 3Ý years Weddle had made his home in Lone Grove, where he was a member of the Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; three sons, Kris Ogdon, Arlington, Texas, Charlie Martin, Oklahoma City, and Chance Weddle, Lone Grove; one daughter, Lori Long, Midwest City; two brothers, Don Weddle, Ninnekah, and Kevin Weddle, Denton, Texas; two sisters, Donna Kay Quickle, Walters, and Cherlyn Gaines, Horn Lake, Miss.; and five grandchildren.

Graveside rites for Maxie Samuel Gordon, 93, will be 10 a.m. Monday at Rose Hill Cemetery conducted by Dr. Doug Miller and the Ardmore Masonic Lodge.
Born April 23, 1904, at Burneyville to John and May Gordon, he died July 25, 1997, at a local health care facility. He was preceded in death by a brother, Jessie "Bill" Gordon; and a sister, Ellie Thompson.
Gordon married Augusta Richard on Oct. 2, 1926 at Ardmore. He was the Ardmore fire chief from 1950 to 1955 and retired from the fire department in 1962. Gordon lived all of his life in Ardmore. He was a deacon and elder of the First Christian Church, where he was a member of the Friendship Class. Gordon was also a member of the Oklahoma Firefighters Association, Ardmore Masonic Lodge No. 31 and the Eastern Star Chapter No. 70.
Survivors include his wife, Augusta, of the home; one daughter, Marilyn Blalock, Ardmore; two brothers, Jake "Pete" Gordon, Jimtown, and Johnny "Rusty" Gordon, Moore; two grandchildren, Donna Phillips and Lena Beth, and her husband, James Stephens; and four great-grandchildren.
Honorary bearers are men of the First Christian Church and all retired firemen.
Memorials may be made to the Handbell Choir of the First Christian Church, 515 Maxwell Ave., Ardmore, OK 73401.
The family will receive friends from 6:30-7:30 this evening at Griffin-Kennedy-Watts Funeral Home.
Services for W. Wilson "Choc" Wallace will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Craddock Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Billy Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Enville Cemetery, Enville.
Wallace died July 26, 1997, at his home. He was born June 1, 1918, at McMillian, to Jim and Lillie Herndon Wallace.
He had lived here all his life and was a former employee of Grimes Refinery. He was of the Pentecost faith. He and Esteline Perschicka were married in 1940 at Marietta. She preceded him in death on Feb. 28, 1974.
Survivors include three daughters, Cynthia Watson, Ardmore, Linda Caldwell, Enville, and Geneva Grice, Lindsey, Texas; three sons, Joe W., Dickson, Charles, Enville, and Roger, Gainesville, Texas; a half brother, Houston Herndon, Muskogee; 17 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Albert and Herndon; a sister, Neeley Shoemaker; and a grandson.
Bearers will be grandsons, Robert Watson, David and Jim Marris Jr., Coby Poe, Alexandro and Jose Santos Jr.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 tonight at the funeral home.
DAVIS -- Services for Bessie Young Montgomery Pickens will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Fox Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Finis Steelman and Dr. David Eggenberg officiating. Interment will be at Green Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Pickens died July 27, 1997, in the Ardmore hospital. She was born Jan. 6, 1904, west of Davis, to Robert and Mary E. Harber Montgomery.
She was a Methodist and a lifetime resident of Davis. She and Thomas Pickens were married March 7, 1920, at Davis. She was preceded in death by her husband on Dec. 27, 1971; and two sons, Robert and Thomas.
Survivors include four daughters, Bertha Quick, Loco, Mary Tennison, Fort Worth, Texas, Irene Fleming and Eudora West, Davis; two sons, Chuck, McLoud, and Larry, Wynnewood; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
PAULS VALLEY -- Services for Joann Roberts, Paoli, were at 10 a.m. today at Wooster Funeral Home, Pauls Valley. Interment was at Paoli Cemetery.
Mrs. Roberts died July 25, 1997, in Oklahoma City. She was born May 3, 1936, in Victor, Colo., to Frank and Valera Lewallen McNeme.
Reared at Wilson, she moved to Paoli in 1978 and was employed by the Pauls Valley State School and Purcell Municipal Hospital. She and Jack Roberts were married May 3, 1987, at Paoli. He preceded her in death on Dec. 14, 1996.
Survivors include three sons, Wes Roberts, David and Jackie Vernon, Pauls Valley; two daughters, Veldonna Vernon, Pauls Valley, and Jackie Harrold, Collinsville; a brother, Frank McNeme, Cumberland; five sisters, Betty Dunnigan, Ada, Peggy Fielding and Betty Davis, Wilson, Mary Alexander and Kathleen Weaver, Houston; and 15 grandchildren.
MILL CREEK -- Graveside services for Arthur J. Bond, 78, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Mill Creek Cemetery with Artie Quinton officiating.
Bond died July 25, 1997, in Marietta. He was born Sept. 11, 1918, at Mill Creek to Charles M. and Norma O. Williamson Bond.
He graduated from high school at Mill Creek and had lived here, in Sulphur and the Marietta areas all his life. He was a retired oil field worker.
He is survived by two sisters, Lois Drake and Bertha Clark; and a brother, Jack, all of Marietta.
Clagg Funeral Home will direct services.
MADILL -- Services for Martha Leoma Stuckey, 57, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Watts Memorial Chapel with Lyndol Adams officiating. Interment will be at McMillan Cemetery.
Mrs. Stuckey died July 26, 1997, at her home in McMillan. She was born Oct. 22, 1939, at Payson.
She attended school at Seminole, Prague and Madill, and married Raymond John Stuckey Feb. 1, 1956, at Gainesville, Texas. They moved to the Marshall County area from Oklahoma City in 1965.
She is survived by her husband, of the home; four sons, Larry, Kingston, Jerry, Billy and Johnnie, McMillan; two daughters, Marsha Maxwell, Lone Grove, and Donna McCool, Oklahoma City; her mother and stepfather, Mary E. and John Blackburn, McMillan; 17 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Walter Ray Mays; a brother, Arthur Mays; and two sisters, Mary Jo and Judy Mays.
Bearers will be Jerry Pierce, Andy and Herschel Hughes, Billy W. and Billy G. Stuckey, Ernie and Joe Fincher. Honorary bearers will beBearl Elmore, Jim Shown, Tommy Smith and Carl Mathews.
MADILL -- Service for S.G. Morgan, 83, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Watts Memorial Chapel with C. Duane Riley officiating. Interment will be at Powell Cemetery.
Morgan died July 27, 1997, in a Sulphur health care facility. He was born Jan. 16, 1914, at Powell, to Thomas and Mary Morgan.
A retired farmer/rancher and truck driver, he was a former resident of Stonewall, Quanah and Nocona, Texas. He had lived in Davis the past two years. He and Dolly May Avery were married July 10, 1937, in Ardmore.
Survivors include his wife, Davis; a son, Tommy D., Denton, Texas; a daughter, Joy Lynch, Davis; sister, Alma Drennen, Pahoa, Hawaii; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Bearers will be Jason Stidham, Brittani, Kevin and Keith Lynch, Crystal, Corey and Curt Morgan. Honorary bearers are Dejay and Dusty Baker, Blake, Miciah and Tyler Lynch.
SULPHUR -- Service for Noble Val Gene McBroom, 66, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Eddie Malphrus officiating. Interment will be at Oaklawn Cemetery under the direction of Clagg Funeral Home.
McBroom died July 28, 1997, in Sulphur. He was born June 26, 1931, at Blackwell, to Jack and Riva Junkens McBroom.
Reared in Blackwell, he graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1958 and worked for the Department of Defense four years. Hewas with the Department of Interior, Bureau of Indian Affairs, in North Dakota and Arizona 17 years before he retired in 1980. He moved to Sulphur in 1981 and worked for Goodson Realty a few years. He and Joyce McGaugh were married Dec. 10, 1954, in Oklahoma City. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Elks Lodge, and was affiliated with the Masons and Shriners.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; and his mother, Elva Dvorak, Yukon. He was preceded in death by a son, Arthur in 1980; his father; and stepfather, Charles Dvorak.
DAVIS -- Service for Elsie M. Waker will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Johnny Beckmon officiating. Interment will be at Green Hill Cemetery under the direction of Fox Funeral Home.
Mrs. Walker died July 27, 1997, in Sulphur. She was born Nov. 26, 1926, in Hall County, Texas, to Rufus and Elizabeth N. Thompson.
Married to Homer W. Walker Sept. 5, 1947, in Oklahoma City, she was a homemaker and had lived in this area 26 years. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1983; and son, Joseph, in 1950.
Survivors include three daughters, Lillian Dixon, Davis, Anna Camp, Oklahoma City, and Judy Moore, Sulphur; five sons, Homer Jr., Oklahoma City, Dennis and Stanley, Las Vegas, Nev., Terry, Davis, and James, Ada; a sister, Frances Harless, Hobart; brother, Paul Thompson, Dearborn, Texas; 30 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
Bearers will be Bobby Warren, Jason Wolfe, Ronald Camp, Jimmy and Wendell Moore, Todd, Denny, Jerry Walker.
MILBURN -- Graveside rites for Bertie Stanford, 87, will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Condon Grove Cemetery with the Rev. James Edwards officiating.
Mrs. Stanford died July 27, 1997, in the Waurika hospital. She was born Oct. 6, 1909, at Paint Rock, Texas, to Earnest and Laura Leatherwood.
She attended school at Emmit and Murray No. 23. She married Robert Stanford Nov. 15, 1924, at Durant, and they later farmed near Waurika in 1948. She was formerly employed by several restaurants, Waurika public schools, Wood Nursing home and Wilcoxson's Dry Goods Store. She was a member of Rebekah Lodge, Home Extension Club, First Baptist Church, and was a 4-H volunteer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Feb. 5, 1962; two sons, James Othel in 1925, and Ralph Eugene in 1934; and a sister Edna Ruth.
Survivors include a half sister, Imogene Griffin, Midwest City.
Nephews will serve as bearers.
Services are under the direction of Worley Funeral Home.
Funeral services for Anna Lou Barber will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 31, 1997, at Craddock Memorial Chapel. Dr. Douglas R. Miller will officiate. Interment will be at Rose Hill Cemetery.
Anna Lou was born Aug. 3, 1899, at Gilmer, Texas, to David and Sally Rundell Shackelford. She died July 28, 1997, in a local health care facility.
She moved to Ardmore as a new bride following her marriage to Oscar Doyle Barber in Longview, Texas on Dec. 11, 1919. He preceded her in death on June 29, 1982.
She was the owner and operator of a beauty shop in Ardmore for 62 years before her retirement. A member of First Christian Church since 1920, she was a member of the Naomi Circle.
She is survived by a son, Avon Barber, and his wife, De Maurice, Ardmore; several nieces and nephews. Anna Lou was the youngest of 13 brothers and sisters who preceded her in death. She was also preceded by a grandson, Terry Barber, on May 21, 1966.
Pall bearers will be Guy H. "Buddy" Sigler, David Hunt, Grantham Jackson, Edgar Cook, Burt Gibbs and Elwin Beavers.
