Richard M. Amant
Graveside services for Richard M. Amant, 77 were July 3 at Marlow Cemetery with the Rev. Morris Cleveland officiating.
Amant died July 1, 1997, in the Duncan hospital. He was born Nov. 1, 1919, at Stidam, to Jessie and Georganna Amant.
He married Inez Mattie Dickinson in April 1946 in Reno, Nev. She preceded him in death. He later married Artents McCormick on July 2, 1984, in Wichita Falls, Texas.
A retired tool pusher for Sutherland Well Service, he lived in Wilson for 37 years, before moving to Marlow. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
He is survived by his wife, of the home; one son, Richard Glenn Amant and daughter-in-law Vicky, Healdton; three daughters, Carolyn Faye Bridges and husband Wilbur, San Ramon, Calif., Diane Davis and husband, Dan, Bray, and Elaine Cleveland and husband Morris, Carterville, Mo.
He is also survived by grandchildren Renee Braaten, Tracy, Calif., Russell Bridges, Concord, Calif., and Jennifer Amant, Wilson.
Bearers were grandsons.

Cecil A. Wells
HUGO -- Services for former area resident Cecil A. Wells were held at 9 a.m. today at the Rivers of Grace Christian Fellowship Church in Hugo. Interment will be at McGuire Cemetery in Lucein at 4 p.m. under the direction of Mt. Olive Funeral Home.
Mrs. Wells died Aug. 10, 1997, in the Hugo hospital. She was born Aug. 26, 1907, at Perry.
She married Raymond E. Wells Dec. 22, 1925, and lived in Pruitt City before moving to Armstrong following the death of her husband in 1988.
She is survived by a daughter, Donna Milson, Hugo; two sons, Raymond, Bethany, and Dan, Armstrong; eight grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

George D. Vann
ODESSA, Texas -- Memorial services for Carter County native George David Vann will be at 2 p.m. today at Odessa Bible Church under the direction of Wilson Funeral Home. Interment will be at Sunset Gardens.
Vann, 71, died Aug. 9, 1997, at his home. He was born Jan. 1, 1926, in Carter County, to George and Rosa Vann.
A World War II veteran, he married Margaret L. Gilliam May 12, 1947, and they moved from Oklahoma to Odessa where he operated Odessa Welding Supply Co. until 1986.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; three daughters, Nancy Hicks, Odessa, Linda Dean, Athens, Texas, and Connie Daniel, Charleston, W. Va.; a brother, Lewis, Lawton; sister, Juanita Francis, Cleveland, Ohio; and six grandchildren.

Theodore E. 'Ted' Gosney Jr.
HEALDTON -- Graveside rites for Theodore Everidge "Ted" Gosney Jr. 49, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Mount Olive Cemetery with the Rev. Jim Gillum officiating.
Gosney died suddenly Aug. 9, 1997, at his home. He was born Dec. 23, 1947, at Duncan, to Everidge and Beatrice Chilton Gosney.
A lifetime resident of Healdton, he served in Vietnam during 1967-1968 and was a member of First Baptist Church. He had worked in the oil fields as a mud engineer and was currently a truck driver for J&D Hauling.
Survivors include two daughters, Angela Aycox and Amy Gosney, Healdton; a sister, Nancy Kendig, Delaware, Ohio; and a grandson. He was preceded in death by his parents in 1996.
Bearers will be Butch Fore, Johnny Miller, Jim Bill Tolbert, Joe Woulfe, Donnie and Lonnie Slawson.
Reser Funeral Home will direct services.

Raymond L. Tripp
RINGLING -- Service for Raymond L. Tripp, 75, Wellston, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Tom Kelley officiating. Interment will be at Grady Cemetery, Grady, under the direction of Reser Funeral Home.
Tripp died Aug. 11, 1997, at his home. He was born March 22, 1922, in Grady to Henry L. and Effie Craze Tripp.
Reared at Grady and Irving, he served in the Army during World War II and married Joyce Fern Morgan March 29, 1946, in Montague, Texas. He worked in the oil fields in Ryan and Nocona, Texas, then moved to Oklahoma City in 1957 where he and his wife owned and operated the A-1 Cafe in Warr Acres until 1975. He then was a chef at the Hilton Inn West before he retired in 1984 and they moved to Antioch. They moved to Wellston in 1994.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; four daughters, Sandra Grady, Florida, Sharon Ellison, Nebraska, Sylvia Janes, Wellston, and Stephanie Brakebill, Oklahoma City; a brother, Calvin, Oklahoma City; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Bearers will be grandsons, Kevin and Brent Ellison, Brian and Todd Janes, Ron Butler and Tom Austin. Junior bearers are Chris and Shane Brakebill.

Roy R. Stevens
MARIETTA -- Services for Roy R. Stevens, 94, Fort Worth, Texas, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Kennedy Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Gardner officiating. Interment will be at Lakeview Cemetery.
Stevens died Aug. 10, 1997, in the North Richland Hills, Texas, hospital. He was born June 25, 1903, in Tillman County, Indian Territory, to William T. and Ida F. Preskitt Stevens.
He married Maggie Evans Gray Dec. 20, 1925, in Ardmore, and had lived in Fort Worth three years, moving there from Marietta where he had lived 15 years. He was a retired stonemason. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jan. 25, 1994; and two brothers, Milledge and W.T.
Survivors include a son, James, Hurst, Texas; daughter, Olene Peterson, North Richland Hills; two brothers, John, San Angelo, Texas, and Coy, Clarendon, Texas; two sisters, Mable Stubbs, Elmer, and Viola Pratt, Marietta; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 this evening at the funeral home.

Margaret Deaton Willenborg
SULPHUR -- Services for Margaret Ann Deaton Willenborg, 55, will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Oak Grove Church with the Rev. Frank Trent officiating. Interment will be at Dolberg Cemetery under the direction of Clagg Funeral Home.
Mrs. Deaton died Aug. 10, 1997, in Tishomingo. She was born Dec. 9, 1941, in Sulphur to Acie and Addie L. Thomas Gordon.
She was reared in Sulphur and Oak Grove and had lived in Tishomingo since 1984. She married Jerry Dilbeck Oct. 16, 1958. She and Earl Lee Deaton were married June 11, 1986. He died Dec. 28, 1987. She and Gary Willenborg were married Dec. 1, 1990.
She is survived by her husband, of the home; two daughters, Treasa Bailes, Noble, and Rhonda Wolfe, Byhalia, Miss.; two sons, Jerry Dilbeck, Oklahoma City, and David Dilbeck, Sulphur; three stepdaughters, Christy Campbell, Sweetwater, Texas, Tina Walker, Tishomingo, and Jackie Tilley, Granbury, Texas; a stepson, Gary Willenborg Jr., Joshua, Texas; five brothers, Charles Gordon, Konawa, Thomas, William, Kenneth and Floyd Gordon, Sulphur; six sisters, Lil Trent, Ada, Julie Winters, Sulphur, Carolyn Mosley, Stratford, Geneva Davis, Talihina, Jeannie Moore, Las Vegas, and Gayla Afrafi, Ocala, Fla.; 14 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and four stepgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Debra Lynn Dilbeck; a granddaughter; a brother; and three sisters.
Bearers will be Jeff Bennett, Jimmy Boyd, Danny Walker, Paul and Tommy Dilbeck, Tony and Tommy Gordon.

Philip W. K. Cunningham
BLUE RIDGE, Texas -- Services for Philip Warren Key Cunningham, 14, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church in Blue Ridge, Texas. Interment will be at Blue Ridge Cemetery under the direction of Fielder-Baker Funeral Home Inc.
Cunningham died Aug. 9, 1997, in the Greenville, Texas, hospital. He was bon Feb. 5, 1983, in Ardmore.
He was a student.
He is survived by his parents, Philip and Tressa Wheeler Cunningham; and brother, Matthew, of the home; and grandparents, Leeman and Delma Cunningham, Murphy, Texas, and Warren and Clara Wheeler, Ardmore.

Zeland Doughty
LUBBOCK, Texas -- Services for Zeland Doughty, 89, will be at 4 p.m. today at Rix Chapel in Lubbock. Interment will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Ardmore under the direction of Griffin-Kennedy-Watts Funeral Home.
Mrs. Doughty died Aug. 11, 1997, in Lubbock. She was born Aug. 22, 1907, in Bartlett, Texas.
She married Jim Doughty March 4, 1933, at Marietta, and lived in Wilson from 1939 until moving to Lubbock in 1975. Her husband preceded her in death July 26, 1977. She was a member of Oakwood United Methodist Church and Women's Society of Christian Service.
She is survived by a son, Jim, Lubbock; and three grandchildren.

Ruthie M. Horsman
SPRINGER -- Services for Ruthie Mae Horsman will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at First Southern Baptist Church with the Rev. Ken Campbell officiating. Interment will be at Pontotoc Cemetery, Pontotoc.
Mrs. Horsman died Aug. 11, 1997, in the Ardmore hospital. She was born March 9, 1930, at Pontotoc to Nolan A. and Kate Henry.
She had lived in Springer most of her life and was married to Stanley Horsman April 18, 1964, in Ardmore. She was a Baptist.
Survivors include her husband, of the home; a daughter, Melinda Grinstead, Roff; and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Nolan Paul, in 1968; and brother, Nolan "Buzz" Henry, in 1978.
Bearers will be Matt Kirk, Buzz, Bart, Terry, Randall and Rick Henry.
Griffin-Kennedy-Watts Funeral Home will direct services.

Jimmy W. Gooden
HEALDTON -- Services for Jimmy Wayne Gooden, 58, Kingston, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church with the Revs. Troy Capps and Philip Fox officiating. Interment will be at Mount Olive Cemetery under the direction of Reser Funeral Home.
Gooden died Aug. 12, 1997, in a Kingston health care facility after an extended illness. He was born Sept. 5, 1938, at Dillard.
He graduated from high school at Pernell in 1957, and from East Central State College. He was a licensed practical nurse who worked 30 years at Memorial and Seventh-day Adventist hospitals in Ardmore. He was a member of the Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Sheila Phillips, Fennville, Mich., and Shelly Marrow, Arlington, Texas; a son, Jeffrey, Bethany; his parents, Jack and Aleta Gooden, Healdton; five sisters, Carolynn Alderman, Riverside, Calif., Marylynn West, Kingston, Ginger Burris, DeSoto, Texas, Jackie Sutton, Aledo, Texas, and Judy Benton, LaGrange, Texas; a brother, Bill, Duncan; and eight grandchildren.
Bearers will be nephews, Roger West, Darin and Steven Burris, Scott Sutton, Brett, Chris and Mark Johnson.
Memorials may be made to Marshall Memorial Hospice, Madill.

Ora Lue Snider
HEALDTON -- Graveside rites for Ora Lue Snider, 92, San Marcos, Texas, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Mount Olive Cemetery with the Rev. Jim May officiating.
Mrs. Snider died Aug. 11, 1997, in a San Marcos health care facility. She was born June 25, 1905, in Woodford, to James and Ida Gandy Bryant.
She moved to Wilson at age 11 and married Leon Snider in 1926 at Duncan. They moved to Countyline and operated a shoe shop before moving to Healdton in 1930. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1971; and a son, James, in 1994.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary Lou Bishop, San Marcos; a son, Lee Roy, Borger, Texas; a sister, Pearl Pinchback, Lawton; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Reser Funeral Home will direct services.

L.P. 'Fat' Haines
WILSON -- Funeral services for L.P. "Fat" Haines, 83, will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church with the Revs. J.B. Lovelace and Darel Bunch officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Ardmore.
Haines died Monday, Aug. 11, 1997, in an Ardmore health care facility. He was born May 28, 1914, in Illinois to Lee Otis and Donna Mae Jones Haines.
Reared in Wilson, he graduated from high school here in 1932 and married the former Betty Lou Willeford March 27, 1942, in St. Charles, Mo. He owned and operated L&H Well Servicing with his brother-in-law, Cole Hale, 11 years before he retired in 1981.
Haines served three terms on the Wilson City Council and was a member and deacon at First Baptist Church for many years. He was also a member of Hewitt Masonic Lodge and Wilson Order of Eastern Star.
He was preceded in death by his wife Nov. 4, 1993; a daughter, Sharan Kay Murray, Jan. 7 1972; a sister, Marian Strawn, Nov. 29, 1992; and three brothers, Harold, Jan. 12, 1964, Luey Edward, who died during World War II, and Otis "Goober," Feb. 17, 1984.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Curtis Milford, Boerne, Texas; two sisters, Wanda Probert, Ardmore, and Paulla Hale, Fox; a brother, Jack, Odem, Texas; a granddaughter and her husband, Nikki and Ashley Ederer, McKinney, Texas; and two great-granddaughters, Lauren and Justin Ederer.
Bearers will be Ashley Ederer, Rick Pender, George and Hershel Strawn, Jimmy Claude and Brad Sullivan.
Alexander Funeral Home will direct services.
