Ruth Heinrichs rites Thursday at 1:08 pm
Graveside services for Ruth Heinrichs, age 82 of the Cordell area, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Sichar Cemetery with Arlee Johnson officiating.

Heinrichs died Monday, March 28, 2005, at the Cordell Memorial Hospital. She was born on Jan. 1, 1923 at Cordell, the daughter of Henry S. and Paula (Witkowska) Ratzloff.

She married Ervin Chester Henirichs on March 23, 1947 in Cordell.

The couple lived in Oklahoma City for several years where she was a doctor’s assistant.

After returning to the Cordell area in 1985 she bred and raised Chinese pugs. She was a member of the Harold Mennonite Church.

Preceding her in death, along with her parents and husband, were her stepmother, Elizabeth Ratzloff; and two brothers, Billy and Walter Ratzloff.

Interment will be under the direction of the McClure Funeral Home in Cordell.

Survivors include her daughter, Cynthia Rose Thompson of Cordell; a sister, Marie Allen of Cordell; a close friend, Mary Sneed; and other relatives.

Lenoa Hayes rites Saturday at 1:07 pm
Graveside services for Lenora June (Glenn) Hayes, age 53 of Irving, Texas, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Clinton Cemetery with minister Pat Peters officiating.
Hayes died very unexpectedly of an apparent heart attack on Monday, March 28, 2005, at her Irving, Texas home. She was born on Jan. 18, 1952 in Clinton, the daughter of Eldon Dale and Billie Lou (Winningham) Glenn, Sr.

She attended school in Clinton as well as at Del Rio, Texas and in Okinawa.

She had lived in the Dallas area for the past several years where she worked for Hertz Rent-A-Car.

Preceding her in death were her father, Eldon D. Glenn, Sr.; and grandparents, A.G. and Margaret Glenn, Hazel Glenn and Bill and Hazel Winningham.

Burial will conclude under the direction of the Stanley-Lee Funeral Home in Clinton.

Survivors include two daughters, Stacie of Georgia and Jessica of Dallas, Texas; her parents, Billie Lou and Irvin Duncan of Oklahoma City; her stepmother, Betty Glenn Arther of Clinton; sisters, Margaret Russo of Oklahoma City, Lela Farmer of Hydro; brothers, Doug Duncan of Seattle, Wash., Eldon Dale Glenn, Jr. of Glendale, Ariz., Ed Lee of Salina, Kans., J.T. Lee of Hydro, Troy Lee and Jack Lee of Clinton.

Hudson services set at 4:25 pm
Funeral services for Vivian L. Hudson, age 84 of Clinton, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Clinton Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Murphy officiating.

Hudson died Sunday, March 27, 2005, at Integris Clinton Regional Hospital. She was born on Sept. 13, 1920 in Great Falls, Mont., the daughter of Tom and Effie (Cornett) Williams.

She moved with her family to Oklahoma in 1924 and entered grade school at Moorewood before later transferring to Independence.

She married James “Al” Hudson on Dec. 7, 1934, and they farmed in the Aledo and Burma area for 10 years before moving to Clinton in 1944. Her husband preceded her in death in 1998.

An active member of Royal Neighbors of America since 1946, she had held every office in the local Camp plus district and state offices in the organization.

She was employed by Linda Lee Cosmetics from 1952 to 1957 and served as branch manager for the western third of Oklahoma.

A long-time member of the Baptist Church, she taught Sunday school in Clinton and Gracemont.

She also was an avid artist. Her love for painting led to lessons under various instructors in charcoal, oils, pastels, acrylics and watercolors. Many of her paintings won high ribbons at the county fair.

Others preceding her in death included her parents; a son, Oscar LeRoy; three brothers, James, Vernon and Jack Williams; and two daughters-in-law, Josephine Hudson and Aileen Hudson.

Burial will conclude in the Clinton Cemetery under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home of Clinton.

Survivors include a daughter, Venus Hudson of the home; a son, DeWayne Hudson and his wife, Carol, of Clinton; a nephew, Willie Eugene Hudson of Clinton who was reared by the Hudsons; a sister, Jessie Earles of Clinton; seven grandchildren, James Hudson and his wife, Wren, of Chengdu, China, Robert Hudson of Clinton, Kenny Hudson and his wife, Shelley, and Josetta Griffith and her husband, Don, all of Wichita, Kans., Kevin Hudson and his wife, Sharon, and Keith Hudson, all of Newton, Kans., Brian Glasscock of Clearwater, Kans.; nine great grandchildren; and a great-great grandchild.

Orine Smith funeral set at 3:49 pm
Funeral services for Orine Smith, age 80 and a longtime Clinton resident, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Southeast Church of Christ in Clinton with Roy Montgomery officiating.

Smith died Thursday morning, March 24, 2005, at Presbyterian Hospital in Oklahoma City. She was born on Sept. 7, 1925 in Oklahoma City, the daughter of Cleady and Charlotte Fails.

Spending her early years in Oklahoma City, she graduated from high sch8ool there.

During World War II Smith worked as a welder in shipyards and as a riveter on airplanes.

After the war, she went to nursing school in Washington, D.C. and graduated from the Cook County School of Nursing in Chicago, Ill.

In 1949 she married William Jefferson and to this union a daughter, Loyce, was born.

She worked in hospitals in Chicago, Oklahoma City, San Diego, Calif. and Portland, Ore.

On Oct. 5, 1970 she married Harvey Smith, and they made their home in Clinton where Harvey was the minister of the Southeast Church of Christ. She was a faithful member of the church.

Preceding her in death, along with her parents and husband, were a brother, Cleady; and a sister, Dorothy.

Burial will conclude in the Clinton Cemetery under the direction of the Stanley-Lee Funeral Home in Clinton.

Survivors include a daughter, Loyce Droke of Oklahoma City; a granddaughter, Adrienne Prince and her husband, Quint; three great grandsons, Elijah, Gabriel, Daniel, all of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; two brothers, Raymond Fails of Los Angeles, Calif., James Fails and his wife, Eva, of Cheyenne, Wyo.; and a host of other relatives.

Littlehead funeral set at 3:49 pm
Funeral services for Ida Mae Littlehead, age 61 of Elk City, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in the Indian Pentecostal Mission at 18th and Hayes in Clinton with Rev. Delford Whitecrow and Rev. Norma Walker officiating.
A wake service will be held Sunday from 7 to 10 p.m. at the church.

Littlehead died Wednesday, March 23, 2005, in the Great Plains Regional Medical Center at Elk City. She was born on Sept. 18, 1943 in Lame Deer, Mont., the daughter of Frank and Pauline (Blue) Littlehead.

She spent her early years in Montana before moving to Oklahoma with her family as a young girl.

She lived in Watonga and later in Custer City. Littlehead enjoyed music, traveling and being with her family.

Preceding her in death were her parents and three sisters, Geraldine, Cecilia and Ann Louise.

Burial will conclude in the city cemetery at Geary under the direction of the Stanley-Lee Funeral Home at Clinton.

Survivors include a son, Michael, of Alva; eight grandchildren; and a host of nephews and nieces that she reared as her own.

Palmer Mosely's funeral on Thursday in Arapaho at 1:29 pm
Funeral services for Palmer Simeon “Gov” Mosely IV, age 65 and the former long-time superintendent of the Arapaho Public Schools, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Arapaho High School Auditorium.

Burial will conclude in the Pontotoc Cemetery at 4 p.m. Thursday.

Mosely died early Monday, March 21, 2005, at Integris Baptist Hospital in Oklahoma City. He was born on Nov. 1, 1939 in Bromide, the son of Palmer and Kitty Jo (Mabry) Mosely III.

Growing up in Bromide, he attended school in that area before continuing his education at Murray State College, Southeastern Oklahoma State University, East Central State University, the University of Oklahoma and Tulsa University, earning his school administrator’s certification.

He began his education career as a teacher at Tupelo, serving as principal at Lexington Prison and as superintendent at Gage and Arapaho.

On Jan. 1, 1991 he married Pamela Jean Ashley in Gage.

His passion in life was education and helping students achieve. He loved sports and was an avid fly fisherman.

Mosely took medical retirement on March 10, 2005.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Stanley-Lee Funeral Home in Clinton.

Survivors include his wife, Pamela, of the Arapaho home; a son, Palmer Mosely V and his wife, Sandy, of Byng; three daughters, Shilli Sweat and her husband, Hugh Don, of Madill, Brandy Ames and her husband, Darrin, of Altus, Misty Anglin and her husband, B.J., of Blanchard; six grandchildren, Kelsie and Kaylean Sweat of Madill, Cache Anglin of Blanchard, Palmer Mosely VI and Zachary Jones of Byng, Drew Ames of Altus; a brother, Joe Moseley and his wife, Jo Ella, of Oologah; and two sisters, Cheryl Wilson and her husband, Stan, of Tishomingo, Kristi Williams and her husband, Benny, of Atoka.

The family suggests that those who desire may make memorial contributions in Mosely’s honor to the fund of the Arapaho School Library.

Dorothy Sloop rites Thursday at 3:22 pm
Funeral services for Dorothy Ann (West) Sloop, age 78 of Oklahoma City, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Chapel Hill United Methodist Church in Oklahoma City.

She was born in Holdenville on Jan. 4, 1927. While attending Oklahoma City University, she met her future husband, Gene Sloop. They were married in May of 1947, just before Gene entered the University of Oklahoma Law School.

As a career military wife, she traveled extensively with Gene and the children around the United States, Hawaii and the Philippine Islands during his career as a Judge Advocate in the Air Force.

She enjoyed traveling and studying cooking and flower-arranging. After Gene retired, they moved back to Oklahoma City and got involved in civilian life, joining the Oklahoma City Museum of Art, “Knit Wits,” the Garden Club, playing tennis, her birthday club girls and her very special friends from Oklahoma City University. Dorothy and Gene had been long time members of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church and active in their Mobile Meals program.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Vondel L. Smith and Son Mortuary of Oklahoma City.

Survivors include her husband, Gene; son Steve and his wife, Dianne; daughter, Gail; grandchildren, Jon and his wife, Julie and Jennifer Atkinson and her husband, Jeff; and great grandson, Eric Atkinson.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Don West of Clinton, and had lived here for a brief period while attending junior high.

The family suggests that those who desire may make memorial contributions to the Chapel Hill United Methodist Church Mobile Meals program in Oklahoma City.

Eakes rites set at 1:19 pm
A memorial service for Richard Stewart “Dick” Eakes, age 64 of Hobart, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Washington Street Baptist Church in Hobart with pastor Ronny White officiating.

Eakes died Thursday, March 17, 2005, at his home. He was born on April 26, 1940 in Sioux City, Iowa, the son of Wanda M. and Jay Webb Eakes.

Arrangements are with the People's Co-operative Funeral Home in Lone Wolf.

Nevels rites set at 1:19 pm
Private family services are planned for retired oilfield worker Willie E. Nevels, age 79 of Taloga. Arrangements are under the direction of the Shaw Funeral Home in Taloga.
Nevels died Thursday, March 17, 2005, in Oklahoma City.

Calvin Fox services set at 1:38 pm
Funeral services for Calvin T. Fox, age 78, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Custer Avenue Baptist Church in Clinton with Rev. Cameron Williams officiating.

Fox died Wednesday at the United Methodist Health Care Center in Clinton. He was born on May 8, 1926 in Wynnewood, the son of Jessie and Hattie (Franks) Fox.

Growing up in Oklahoma City, he graduated from Central High School in 1945 and married Billie Wade on Oct. 12, 1946 in Oklahoma City.

Fox worked for CMI Corporation in Oklahoma City for 20 years as a salesman.

As his health failed, he moved to Clinton to be near family. He enjoyed working on cars and tinkering with his lawnmower.

Preceding him in death, along with his parents and wife, was a brother, Pete Fox.

Burial will conclude in the Resthaven Cemetery at Oklahoma City under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home in Clinton.

Survivors include two daughters, Rita Bynum and her husband, Rex, of Clinton, Brenda Rotramel of Lenexa, Kans.; three grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

Private funeral set for Stewart at 1:38 pm
Private family services have been planned for Glen Leroy Stewart, age 80 and a long-time Clinton resident, with minister Doyle Kinney officiating.

Visitors may come by and pay their respects all day today and Friday at the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home on West Modelle Avenue in Clinton.

Stewart died late Wednesday morning, March 16, 2005, at his home. He was born on March 28, 1924 southeast of Clinton, the son of Roy and Florence (Snider) Stewart.

He married Frankie Wallace on June 2, 1947 at the Arapaho Methodist Church.

The Stewarts lived briefly in Elk City and Oklahoma City before returning to Clinton to farm and rear their family.

Survivors include his wife, Frankie, of the home; three sons, Larry and his wife, Paula, Terry, Russell and his wife, Charlotte, all of Clinton; a daughter, Kathy Stewart of Oklahoma City; a sister, Oral Perkins and her husband, Ralph, of Garden City, Kans.; a sister-in-law, Eva Lea Stewart of Clinton; eight grandchildren, Wesley Stewart of Irving, Texas, Shawn Driver of Wheatland, Calif., Zachary Stewart, Jacob Stewart and his wife, Amy, Adreinne Stewart, Lucas Stewart, Jordan Stewart, all of Clinton, and Dillon Driver of Norman; two step granddaughters, Erin Hanson of Clinton, Amber Bighorse-Suitor of Norman; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, was a brother, Dale Stewart of Clinton.

Ex-Clintonite's services held at 1:12 pm
Funeral services for former Clinton resident Floreine Germany, 88, were held Feb. 21 at the Bluff Springs Church of God in Union, Miss.

Mrs. Germany died Friday, Feb. 18, 2005, at Laird Hospital in Union.

Her late husband, Rev. Earl Germany, served as pastor of the First Church of God in Clinton for nine years during the 1960s.

She is survived by three daughters, Earline Thompson (and husband Lyle), Hill City, Kan., Marjorie Rauner, Plano, Texas, and Sheron Douglas (and husband Jerry), Clinton; two sons, Bruce Selby Germany and Conrad Germany (and wife Pat), both of Union, Miss.; one sister, Marjorie Johnson, Brighton, Colo.; 12 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Mrs. Germany was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Earl J. Germany; one son, Rev. Phillip A. Germany; her parents, Albert and Mattie Selby; and three grandchildren.

Rev. Jeff Hancock officiated at the funeral with burial following in the New Ireland Baptist Church Cemetery.
