Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Fairview Cemetery at St. John, Kan. with military honors.
Toland died Saturday, Jan. 28, 2006, at the Good Samaritan Center. He was born on April 12, 1922 in St. John, Kan., the son of Earl E. and Mabel Elizabeth Millsap Toland.
A 1940 graduate of St. John High School and a 1947 graduate of Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, he had been a resident of Hutchinson since 1952.
Prior to his retirement in 1987 he was a financial controller for the National Cooperative Refinery Association.
He was a lifetime member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and had served a mission for the church as well as multiple times as a bishop for the church.
Toland served in the Army Air Corps in World War II and retired as an Air Force major after 30 years of active and reserve duty.
He married Mary Catherine “Katie” Blake on March 27, 1946 in St. John, Kan., and she preceded him in death on Aug. 5, 2004.
Arrangements are under the direction of Elliott Mortuary in Hutchinson, Kan.
Survivors include four sons, David M. Toland and his wife, Pat, of Topeka, Kan., Timothy B. Toland and his wife, Dee, of Clinton, John H. Toland and his wife, Debby, of Mounds, Mark E. Toland of Hutchinson, Kan.; a sister, Wamoth Allison of St. John, Kan.; 16 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were a sister, Joyce Blake; and a brother, Donnie Toland.
Friends will be received at the church at 518 E. 43rd in Hutchinson from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Lynn Babb funeral set at 2:00 pm
Babb died early Saturday, Jan. 28, 2006, at the United Methodist Health Care Center in Clinton. She was born on Sept. 17, 1916 in Holdenville, the daughter of Steve and Amensia (Fisher) Cariker.
Reared in Holdenville, she married Otho Babb there in 1930.
The young couple moved to Tulsa during the Depression and times were really hard for the family.
She then returned to Holdenville and attended beauty college before moving to Wewoka where she owned and operated Lynn’s Beauty Salon for more than 50 years.
She married Cecil Argo in 1952, and he preceded her in death.
She moved to Clinton in 1987 to be close to family, moving her beauty shop here which she continued to operate until the mid 1990’s when she was forced to retire by failing health.
She had been a resident of the Methodist Center for the past three months.
A member of the First Baptist Church in Wewoka for many years, she had transferred her membership to Clinton.
She was a member of the Oklahoma Cosmetology Association and was on the Thunderbird Hair Fashion Committee of Oklahoma for several years. She also was a member of the National Hairdressers and Cosmetologists Association.
Preceding her in death were five sisters, Donnie Linker, Lavernia Arthur, Leora Bishop, Estella Hishaw, Nora Lancaster; a granddaughter, Juli Ronan; and a great-great great grandson, Mykol Babb.
Burial will conclude in the Clinton Cemetery under the direction of the Stanley-Lee Funeral Home in Clinton.
Survivors include a daughter, Arleen Harris of Clinton; a son, Cliffton Babb and his wife, Naomi, of Seminole; two granddaughters, Toni Lee and her husband, Troy, of Clinton, Jacque Morlan and her husband, Darrell, of Arapaho; three grandsons, Robert Hargrove and his wife, Cindy, of Moore, Gregg Babb and his wife, Judy, and Steven Babb, all of Seminole; 14 great grandchildren; a great-great grandson; a brother, Oran Cariker of Duncan; a sister, Alene Conner of Bixby; and several nieces and nephews, including Arlie Arthur and his wife, Betty, of Clinton.
Jones rites Wednesday at 2:00 pm
A traditional all-night Indian wake service will be held beginning at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Tri-County Building in Geary.
Jones was born on Jan. 21, 1986 at Omaha, Neb., the son of Roger and Lydia Kay (White) Jones.
Reared in Clinton and Geary, he graduated from high school in Tahlequah with the Job Corps program in 2004.
He had worked as an electrical apprentice and for Safety Awareness in Oklahoma City and had been awarded Salesperson of the Month.
At the time of his death he was employed with Lucky Star Casino.
Jones was a member of the Central Baptist Church in Oklahoma City where he sang in the choir and attended Promise Keepers.
He also was a member of the Kit-Fox Society and the Native American Church.
Burial will conclude in the Lumpmouth Family Cemetery west of Geary under the direction of the Stanley-Lee Funeral Home in Clinton.
Survivors include his mother, Lydia, and father, Roger, both of Oklahoma City; two sisters, Laura Jones and Autumn Eneremadu, both of Oklahoma City; and three brothers, Charles Jones and Ryan Moore, both of Oklahoma City, Corey Evans of Daytona, Fla.
Private Rose services set at 1:58 pm
She grew up at Dripping Springs until the age of 10 when she and her family moved to Clinton where she attended school.
She worked for Dairy Queen for many years.
On June 27, 1994 she married Bill Alfred Rose in Colorado Springs, Colo. She and her husband settled in Butler in 1997.
Preceding her in death were her parents; sons, Kenny Smith and Larry Smith; a great grandson, Ethan Oneale; and a brother, C.J. Walker.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Stanley-Lee Funeral Home in Clinton.
Survivors include her husband, Bill, of the home; sons, Billy Oneale and his wife, Deborah, of Arapaho, Terry Smith and his wife, Sandra, of Louisiana; daughters, Kim Johnson of Clinton, Cheryl Tilley and her husband, Delbert, of Cordell, Angela Adams and her husband, Darren, of New Mexico; brothers, Jim Richardson and his wife, Flo, of Corn, Emery “Buzz” Richardson, Jr. of Florida; a sister-in-law, Charlene Walker of Clinton; 18 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.

Stuart died early Monday, Jan. 23, 2006, at the Bell Avenue Nursing Home in Elk City where she was working her shift. She was born on Jan. 24, 1956 at Phoenix, Ariz., the daughter of Jeff and Maxine Bernard.
Growing up in the Phoenix area, she graduated from Phoenix Union High School in 1974 and later attended school toward becoming a licensed practical nurse.
She married James Stuart in Phoenix, Ariz, on May 10, 1981, and they moved to northeastern Oklahoma in 1986 before moving a year later to Cordell where she resided until her death.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Jack Loftiss Funeral Home of Cordell.
Survivors include James Stuart; her longtime companion, Larry Gregory of the home; three daughters, Angela Martinez and her husband, Pete, of Cordell, Andrea and Amanda Stuart of Cordell; two sons, Adrian and Andrew Stuart of Cordell; her parents, Jeff and Maxine Bernard of Phoenix, Ariz.; two sisters, Vivian Fitch and Cindy Bernard, both of Phoenix, Ariz.; and five grandchildren, Chelsea, Ryan, Megham and Emily Martinez and Jasmine Bryan.

The Crescent City Chapter No. 200 Order of the Eastern Star will hold a memorial service for Lucy, as she requested, after which Howard Cox, pastor of the Word of Faith Bible Church also will officiate a memorial service.
Smith died at the Apple House 2 Assisted Living Facility on Sunday, Jan. 22, 2006. She was the oldest daughter of Charles Henry Franklin Watkins and Effie Jeanette Harrah Watkins McBee, born Dec. 14, 1903 near St. Paul, Kan.
She attended school at Benedict and Erie Kan.
After moving to Clinton, she married Robert L. Rich in 1925 and worked for Southwestern Bell until 1939.
She moved that year to Washington, D.C. and lived there for about year, starting to work for the Navy Department as a telephone operator that same year, finally working her way up to supervisor.
Lucy and Robert moved to Arlington, Va. in 1940 and lived there until she retired.
They moved to Pine Bluff, Ark. after her retirement. Her husband, Robert, died of cancer in 1970.
She married Lambert Smith in 1972 and continued to reside in Pine Bluff for a few years before moving to Lake Como, Fla. in 1978. Her second husband died of cancer in 1998. They were members of a local church. She also was a life member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter number 200 in Crescent City, Fla.
Survivors include a son, Robert Lee Rich, Jr. and his wife, Lisa, of Lake Como, Fla.; a granddaughter, Alcinda Russkanen of Cameron, Mo.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Frankie Jeanette; 4 brothers, Robert, Ralph, Henry and Lawrence Watkins; and 2 sisters, Hazel Watkins and Mina Walker.
Smith will be buried beside her two husbands in the Erie Memorial Cemetery in Erie, Kan.

Schmidt died Saturday, Jan. 21, 2006, at the Cordell Christian Home.

Jack Litke funeral set at 1:40 pm
He was reared in Corn, graduating from high school in 1956.
He joined the Army Reserves while attending the former Southwestern State College in Weatherford.
Litke married the former Patsy Thiessen on March 14, 1959 in Clinton.
The young couple made their home in Clinton where he started a career with Sears.
In 1977 he was transferred to Altus where they spent the next 18 years before returning to Clinton in 1994 where he later retired with 32 years of service.
He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Corn.
Burial will conclude in the Corn Cemetery under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home in Clinton.
Survivors include his wife, Patsy, of the home; two daughters, Denise Fleming and her husband, Dean, of Corn, Kim Bishop and her husband, Brett, of Butler; six grandchildren, DaLynn Brinkley , Brooke Fleming, Chance Fleming, Shelby Bishop, Ashlee Bishop, Allison Bishop; a sister, Betty Benton and her husband, George, of Valley Center, Kan.; and a sister-in-law, Shirley Baldwin of Clinton.
The family suggests that memorial contributions in Litke’s honor may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Ollie Gertrude Royse was born on Dec. 16, 1917 in Stafford, the daughter of Ruffus and Ruth (Dawson) Royse. She died Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2006, at Southwestern Memorial Hospital in Weatherford.
Having attended school in Foss and Stafford, she graduated from Stafford High School around 1934.
Her mother died early, and she helped her father rear her four brothers and sisters.
After graduation she moved to Oakwood and did housework for teachers.
On Aug. 24, 1940 she married Coy C. “Barney” Tackitt, and they moved to the Long Beach area of California.
After their retirement in 1990 they moved to Clinton where she was a member of the Church of Christ.
Her husband, Barney, preceded her in death last year. Others preceding her in death included her brothers, Louis and Riley; and a sister, Frances Royse.
Burial will be under the direction of the Stanley-Lee Funeral Home of Clinton.
Survivors include a daughter, Patricia Ann Gilmore of Larksburg, Calif.; a son, R. “Barkley” Tackitt of Litchfield Park, Ariz.; a sister, Ruth Ruyle of Oklahoma City; grandsons, Mark Brian Tackitt of Seattle, Wash., Christopher Ryan Tackitt of Clinton, Ron Archer of San Francisco, Calif.; a granddaughter, Sasha Caporrimo of Litchfield, Ariz.; and three great grandchildren, Micah, Dalton and Turner Tackitt.

Funeral services for Marion H. Toland, age 83 of Hutchinson, Kan., will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at 43rd and Plum in Hutchinson.
The family suggests that memorial contributions in Toland’s honor be made to the Marion Toland Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.
