She was born Jan. 10, 1916, in Cordell to Ja-cob and Lydia (Schmeirer) Rittel. She grew up in Cordell and graduated from Cordell High School in 1933.
Following graduation she was employed by at the Washita County Welfare office for many years.
She married Maurice McLain Huls, Sr. on June 2, 1940, in a ceremony in her par-ents’ garden. The family homestead was pur-chased in 1940 in Foss and she lived on the farm until December of 2004 when her health started to decline and she moved to the United Methodist Healthcare Center.
She helped with the farm and also was a sales representative for 3K home products.
She was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Foss. She taught Sunday School classes, evening Training Union classes and worked in Vacation Bible School. She was also the church pianist for more than 50 years.
Burial will conclude in the Foss Cemetery un-der the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home in Clinton. Visi-tation will start Wednesday morning at the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1999 and her son Maurice, Jr. in 1963.
She is survived by two daughters, Maurine Forrester and husband Royce of Canute and Glenna Huls of Lin-denwood, N.J.; a grand-son, Greg Forrester and wife Sharon of Elk City; three great-grandchildren, Ashley Forrester of Oklahoma City, Coty and Riley Forrester of Elk City; and a sister-in-law, Willa Mae Ditmore of Sayre.
The family suggests that those wishing to make memorial contri-butions may do so to Western Oklahoma Hospice, the United Methodist Healthcare Center or the First Baptist Church in Foss.

Klaassen died Wednesday, May 3, 2006, at Southwestern Memorial Hospital in Weatherford. She was born on Sept. 11, 1924 at the family’s home between Hydro and Hinton in the Bethel Community, the daughter of Clarence and Emma (McCain) Karlin.
After graduating from Bridgeport High School, she attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University.
On Feb. 4, 1945 she married Johnny Klaassen at her parents’ home.
They lived in Algiers, La. and Hitchcock, Texas where Johnny finished his time in the military.
They then lived in Weatherford until 1956 when they completed a new house in Hydro where they made their permanent home.
She worked at Maple Lawn Manor doing various tasks and later at Karlin Company as a secretary.
She was very active in her church, especially in the United Methodist Women.
Klaassen received an Honorary Chapter Farmer Degree from the FFA.
Burial will follow in the Hydro Masonic Cemetery north of Hydro under the direction of the Lockstone Funeral Home of Weatherford.
Survivors include her husband, Johnny, of the home; a son, Terral Klaassen and his wife, Pam, and two daughters, Cindy Wyatt and her husband, Mike, and Donna Klaassen, all of Hydro; three granddaughters, Karen Barry, Christy Bowen, Micah Cole; four grandsons, Jason Wyatt, Chris Klaassen, Corey Klaassen, Shannon Klaassen; and nine great-grandchildren, Colton Bowen, Caden Wyatt, Hayden Barry, Rachel Barry, Raegan Klaassen, Ryder Klaassen, Jordan Roper, Jaxon Klaassen and Kinsley Klaassen.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
The family suggests that memorial contributions in Klaassen’s honor be made to the Hydro First Responders or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
Jenkins rites set Monday at 2:58 pm
Reared in Taloga and Putnam, he graduated from Taloga High School in 1972.
He attended college for a short time before beginning a career in the oilfield, working all over western Oklahoma.
He had been employed with the Diamond Company in Woodward, trucking and doing environmental cleanup for the past 15 years.
He was an artist and also a member of the Oklahoma Gun Club.
Preceding him in death were his father and grandparents, Frank and Marguerite Harper.
Burial will follow in the Clinton Cemetery.
Survivors include a daughter, Tara Jenkins of Tulsa; two sons, Jason Jenkins of Midwest City, Jonathan Jenkins of San Antonio, Texas; his mother, Bobbie Wheeler and stepfather, Glen Wheeler of Idaho; a brother, Rick Jenkins of Chickasha; and two grandchildren, Celestina Jenkins and Natalie Jenkins.
Visitation will start at noon on Saturday.

An all night wake will be held at the family home west of Hammon Thursday beginning at 7:30 p.m.
Hoffman died Monday, May 1, 2006, at Integris Clinton Regional Hospital. He was born on March 4, 1940 in Clinton, the son of Fred Buster and Kathryn (Youngbull) Hoffman.
Growing up in Hammon, he graduated from high school there in 1958.
He continued his education at Southwestern Oklahoma State University and Oklahoma State University.
Hoffman served in the U.S. Air Force from 1961 to 1963.
After his honorable discharge, he moved to California and worked as a mechanical draftsman for Rogers Engineering.
He later worked as an X-ray technician.
In 1991 he returned to Hammon. He was a member of the Native American Church.
Preceding him in death were his father and a sister, Mary Pat Rhoads.
Burial will conclude in the Hammon Indian Mennonite Cemetery under the direction of the Stanley-Lee Funeral Home in Clinton.
Survivors include his mother, Kathryn of Pawnee; brothers, Archie Sr. of Hammon, John Tyler of Oklahoma City; sisters, Lucy Snyder of El Reno, Thelma Kauahquo of Anadarko, Ida Hoffman of Hammon, Arlene Chapman of Pawnee; and his companion, Pat Medicinechips of Clinton.

Mildred Mae (Janzen) Vogt-Martin died late Sunday, April 30, 2006, at the Corn Heritage Village. She was born on Feb. 22, 1922 northwest of Corn, the daughter of John A. and Katie (Peters) Janzen.
Reared northwest of Corn, she attended the OK Country School near Corn and was married to Lorenz A. Vogt on April 23, 1942 in Corn.
The young couple moved to Texas for a short time before returning to the Corn area and farming five miles east of Corn.
They moved to Weatherford in 1959 where they owned and operated a construction and real estate business as well as continuing to farm.
Her first husband preceded her in death in 1979. She married Albert Martin on Dec. 7, 1985 in Corn.
They made their home in Weatherford, and he preceded her in death in 1998. She had been a resident of the Corn Heritage Village since October of 1999.
Also preceding her in death were a son, Robert Vogt; a sister, Edna Warkentin; and three brothers, Willard Janzen, Leroy Janzen and Wesley Janzen.
She was a member of the Corn Mennonite Brethren Church.
Burial will conclude in the Corn Cemetery under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home in Clinton.
Survivors include two sons, Gaylon Vogt and his wife, Clarene, of Weatherford, Terry Vogt and his wife, Debra, of Chanhassen, Minn.; two stepdaughters, Brenda Ostercamp and her husband, Denny, of Oklahoma City, Cordova Van Wert and her husband, Gary, of Shreveport, La.; five grandchildren, Holly Shields of Magnolia, Ark, Becky Warmack of Texarkana, Ark., Benjamin Vogt of Lincoln, Neb., Aubri Vogt and Andriana Vogt of Chanhassen, Minn.; seven step grandchildren, Johnathan Thompson, Matthew Thompson, Sarah Howe, William Thompson, Jeremy Ostercamp, Amie Ostercamp, Katelynn Ostercamp, all of Oklahoma City; four great grandchildren, James Thomas Warmack II, Anna Grace Warmack, Jackson Davis Warmack, Kate Ainsley Shields; three step great grandchildren; four sisters, Florence Saunders of California, Lillian Heinrich of Corn, Elda Balzer of Weatherford, Marjorie Heinrichs of Corn; and a brother, Robert Janzen of Fresno, Calif.
The family suggests that those who want to make memorial contributions in Vogt-Martin’s honor may do so to the Corn Bible Academy.

William Henry Varner died early Wednesday, April 26, 2006, at Woodward Regional Hospital. He was born on Nov. 13, 1916 in Denison, Texas, the son of John M. and Janie (Hill) Varner.
Reared in Foss, he worked as a young man in a Conservation Corps camp during the Great Depression.
He married Faye Nelson on Oct. 5, 1940 in Cordell.
Drafted into the U.S. Army, he served during World War II and after his honorable discharge made his home in Clinton.
He farmed for a number of years. Varner attended barber college in 1959 and operated a shop in downtown Clinton until 2003.
Preceding him in death, along with his parents and wife, were a daughter, Barbara; a son, Billy Don; and a granddaughter, Christy, along with nine sisters and brothers.
He was a member of the First Church of God, American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Burial will follow in the Clinton Cemetery under the direction of the Stanley-Lee Funeral Home in Clinton.
Survivors include a son, Johnny Varner and his wife, Suzie, of Yukon; a sister, Esta Martin of Texas; six grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
Services set for Hamman at 3:04 pm
Daryl Edward Hamman died Tuesday, April 25, 2006, at his Warr Acres home. He was born on Aug. 18, 1962 at Ardmore, the son of Billy and Donnie (Rutledge) Hamman.
Reared in Marlow, he moved to Tulsa with his mother in 1979 and attended East Central High School, graduating in 1980.
He was employed with Transvoc for the Handicapped in Tulsa.
Hamman married Donita Kay Meyer on July 24, 1999 in Tulsa. They made their home in Tulsa for a short time before moving to the Oklahoma City area.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home in Clinton.
Survivors include his wife, Donita Kay (Meyer) Hamman of Warr Acres; two sons, Jerry Lee Hamman, a Marine serving in Iraq, Christopher Edward Hamman of Claremore; his mother, Donnie Faye Hamman of Tulsa; his father, Billy Derral Hamman of Marlow; a sister, Stephanie Devon Renee Hamman of Tulsa; a brother, Donnie Dewayne Hamman of Tulsa; a paternal grandmother; Juanita Fay Brown of Marlow; and a mother-in-law, Marjorie Meyer of Clinton.

Adler was born on Oct. 6, 1913 at Corn, the son of Peter John and Mollie Schaefer Adler.
He attended the Springfield school and graduated from Corn Bible Academy where he was a member of the band. He also attended the Zion Congregational Church near Corn at that time.
After graduation, Adler worked on the family farm and began selling life insurance in Clinton.
In 1939 he met Mattie Norene Corn of Thomas, and they were married on Oct. 6, 1941.
They then moved to Tulia, Texas where they farmed for five years before returning to Clinton in 1946.
Adler entered into a real estate partnership with M.C. Main before becoming owner of Gilbert Adler Real Estate. He and Norene retired in 1975.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Clinton where he served as a deacon and elder. He also was in the church choir for 50 years.
Adler also was a member of the Masonic Lodge for 50 years, holding several offices including past worshipful master. He received his club 50-year pin just last month and continued to hold his membership as a 32nd Degree Mason in Guthrie. He also was a member of Rotary Club for 45 years.
Preceding him in death, along with his parents, were a brother, Albert Adler; and a sister, Elnora Rowland.
Survivors include his wife, Norene; and a sister, Goldie McKelvy of Vici.
Buddy Segler services set at 4:06 pm
He was born on Nov. 25, 1988 at Eglin Air Force Base in Florida to Sunny and Karen (Ensey) Segler.
The family moved to Dill City in 1998 where Buddy was a junior at the Burns Flat-Dill City High School.
He was active in the Student Council, Spanish Club, junior-senior play, Club S.C.R.U.B. and weightlifting. He also taught abstinence classes.
Interment will follow at the South Burns Cemetery under the direction of McClure Funeral Homes of Cordell and Sentinel.
Survivors include his parents, Sunny and Karen Segler of Dill City; a sister Kaitlin Segler of Dill City; and grandparents, Ralph and Lavern Ensey of Dill City and Orval and Susie Segler of Cordell.

Funeral services for Bertha Mary (Karlin) Klaassen, age 81 of Hydro, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the First United Methodist Church in Hydro with Rev. Wanda Murray officiating.
Funeral services for Terry Don Jenkins, age 53 of Woodward, will be held at 3 p.m. Monday in the Memorial Chapel of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home in Clinton with minister Doyle Kinney officiating.
Jenkins died Thurday, May 4, 2006, at Integris Baptist Hospital in Oklahoma City. He was born on Nov. 30, 1953 in Chickasha, the son of Buster and Bobbie (Harper) Jenkins.

Funeral services for Mildred Vogt-Martin, age 84 and a former Weatherford resident and businesswoman, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Corn Mennonite Brethren Church with Rev. Ken Gardner officiating.

Funeral services for longtime Clinton barber William H. “Bill” Varner, age 89, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the First Church of God in Clinton with Rev. Roy Dobbs officiating.
Funeral services for Daryl E. Hamman, age 43 of Warr Acres, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Custer Avenue Baptist Church in Clinton with Rev. Cameron Williams officiating.
Burial will be Monday morning in the Clinton Cemetery.
