Kempf was born to Matilda Kempf on April 2, 1927 near Bessie and died on Saturday, Sept. 23, 2006, at Deaconess Hospital in Oklahoma City
Reared in the Clinton-Weatherford area his entire life by his aunt, Margaret Busch, he graduated from Clinton High School and attended the Moody Bible Institute as well as a food service managers school.
Kempf was employed for 15 years with Western Oklahoma Tuberculosis Sanitarium in Clinton and for 19 years with Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, retiring in 1991.
He was active in the Emmanuel Baptist Church until failing health prevented his attendance.
The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to the church.
Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery at Weatherford under the direction of the Lockstone Funeral Home in Weatherford.
Survivors include three cousins, Jim Williams of Fort Worth, Texas, Joyce VanHorn of Tulsa and Hershel Williams of Portland, Ore.

Wilbert Joe Edwards died Saturday morning, Sept. 23, 2006, at his home. He was born on Dec. 11, 1932 in Tadcuh, Texas.
Reared in the Butler area, he started farming at a very early age with his family.
In the early 1950’s he was drafted into the U.S. Army and served in the Korean War as a cook.
He married Lois Gean Walker on Aug. 18, 1956 in Reno, Nev., and the young couple made their home in California for several years.
Working as a truck driver, Edwards hauled mobile homes until 1976 when he and his wife moved to Oklahoma City where he was employed as a diesel mechanic until he retired in 1996.
His wife preceded him in death on Nov. 7, 2003.
Edwards was a member of the Liberty Worship Center in Oklahoma City.
Preceding him in death were sisters Barbara, Lillie and an infant sister; and brothers, Boots, Haskell, Harold, Quentin and George.
Burial will conclude in the Osceola Cemetery northeast of Butler.
Survivors include three daughters, Linda Withrow and her husband, Steve, of Oklahoma City, Cathy Solomon and her husband, Clifford, of Oklahoma City, Clifford Stokely and her husband, Charles; sons, David Edwards and his wife, Annette, of Meeker, Steven Edwards of Boley; 27 grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Hernandez of Oklahoma City, Myrtle McCoy of California; and two brothers, Donald Edwards and Lewis Edwards of Butler.
Services held for Kelso at 12:46 pm
Preceding her in death, in addition to her father, was a brother, Stanley Gepner.
Interment was in the McPherson, Kan. Cemetery under the direction of the Stockham Family Funeral Home in McPherson.
Survivors include a daughter, Lisa Mount of Atlanta, Ga.; her mother, Leora Gepner of McPherson, Kan.; sisters, Carol Price of Melbourne, Fla., Theresa Leathers of Manhattan, Kan., Karen Kagle of McPherson, Kan., Deanne Toland of Clinton, Cynthia Power of Marquette, Kan.; brothers, Steve Gepner of McPherson, Kan., Jeff Gepner of Nebraska, Randy Gepner of McPherson, Kan.; and two grandchildren.

Services set for Dora Malone at 12:45 pm
She spent her early years in the Honey Grove area and at Sentinel. She received most of her schooling in Honey Grove.
In 1942 she married Plez Malone, Sr. in Altus, and they farmed in the Tipton area.
They moved to Clinton in 1967. She was an active member of the Southeast Church of Christ and was the church custodian for years, also doing domestic work in Clinton for several prominent families.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband in l972; daughters, Dora Mae, Mae Frances; a son, Eugene; sisters, Renell Milligan, Mae Frances Thompson, Ardella Smith, Lucy Pearl Smith, Luebrader Allen; and brothers,
Morris, William, Eugene and Amos Allen.
Burial will conclude in the Clinton Cemetery under the direction of the Stanley-Lee Funeral Home of Clinton.
Survivors include daughters, Mae Belle Rogers, Betty Louise Gosier, Evelyn Faye Abram, Dora Marie Dancer, all of Clinton; sons, Plez, Jr., William Henry and Robert Earl Malone, all of Clinton; stepsons Morris and John Malone, both of California; sisters, Mary Lou Stephenson of Oklahoma City, Bertha Mae Allen of Bakersfield, Calif.; brothers, Elgin Allen of Oklahoma City, Lewis Allen of Minnesota; 22 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; and 5 great-great grandchildren.

Holly died Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2006, in Elk City. She was born on June 25, 1933 to L.E. and Mary (Oliver) Holly.
She served her country in the United States Navy as a lieutenant in Korea.
Verna was a member of the Hammon Pentecostal Holiness Church. She worked as a nurse for many years and also as a police dispatcher.
Preceding Verna in death were her husband, William D. Kenton; her parents, L.E. and Mary Holly; and one brother, Dyane Holly.
Interment will follow at the Clinton Cemetery under the direction of the Lowell-Tims Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Clinton. Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home at 541 South 30th.
Survivors include three children, Robert A. Kenton, Stanley D. Kenton and Rita J. Kenton.

Munsey died Sunday, Sept. 10, 2006, in Gravette. He was born on July 20, 1957 in Clinton, the son of James and Betty (Jones) Munsey.
Having grown up in Clinton, he graduated from high school here.
After graduation he went into carpentry and later worked in the oilfields. He also had served in the U.S. Army.
He moved to Arkansas about 12 years ago and had worked for Wal-Mart warehouses as an electrician.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Munsey.
Survivors include his mother, Betty Munsey Burrahm of Clinton; two sons, Brandon Munsey and his wife, Amanda, of Fort Bragg, N.C., Joshua Munsey of Idaho; and six sisters, Donna Champenge of Louisiana, Linda Burke, Betty Munsey, Renda Munsey, all of Clinton, Rita Munsey of El Reno, Rhonda Munsey of Geary.
Services set Saturday for Marshall at 4:10 pm
Marshall died Thursday, Sept. 21, 2006, at St. Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma City. She was born in Clinton on Feb. 9, 1926, the daughter of Ivan and Clara (Stephenson) Northrip.
Having attended Hopewell and Edwardsville Rural Schools, she graduated from Stafford High School in 1944. She went to Southwestern State College for two years.
On Sept. 20, 1946, she married Orley Marshall in Weatherford. She worked for Southwestern Bell in Clinton and also worked in civil service for 28 years before retiring in 1990 and moving to Weatherford.
Survivors include a son, Richard Marshall of Weatherford; a daughter, Rita Hays of Weatherford; a brother, Jack Northrip of Moore; a sister, Ruth Ann McKinny of Pampa, Texas; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents and one brother, Jim.
The family suggests that memorials may be made to the Weatherford Nutrition Center or Emmanuel Baptist Church.

Lola Zelma (McCormick) Foster was born Sept. 6, 1905 at Canton, the daughter of Harry and Cora (Sutton) McCormick. She died Saturday, Sept. 16, 2006, at the Methodist Health Care Center in Clinton.
Reared at Canton, she graduated the eighth grade there in 1922 and moved to California where she worked in a grocery store as a cashier.
She married Kent “Smokey” Foster in 1949 in Yuma, Ariz.
They made their home in California for a short time before moving to Oklahoma in the early 1960’s and settling in Canton.
Her husband preceded her in death in 1979, and she moved to Clinton in 1996 to be close to relatives.
She had been a resident of the United Methodist Health Care Center for the past three years.
Preceding her in death were two sisters, Hazel McMichael and Bula Jones; and two brothers, Wesley McCormick and Ray McCormick.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Survivors included 10 nieces and nephews.

Minnie Neufeld was born on Oct. 10, 1920 in Corn, the daughter of John and Elizabeth (DeFehr) Neufeld, and died Sunday, Sept. 17, 2006, at the Corn Heritage Village in Weatherford.
Growing up in Corn, she attended school there and was married to Otto Miller in Clinton on Feb. 2, 1942.
The young couple made their home in Weatherford and Corn with the exception of nine years in Missouri.
They moved back to Oklahoma City, and she worked for Western Electric there for 14 years.
In 1985 they moved back to Weatherford to retire. Miller was a member of the First Baptist Church and AARP.
Preceding her in death, along with her husband, were a daughter, JoAnn Oakley; sisters, Sarah Cherar, Mary Flaming, Kathryn Megert; and a brother, Jake Neufeld.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Stanley-Lee Funeral Home in Clinton.
Survivors include two sisters, Matilda Sawatzky of Clinton, Bertha Gatzky of Prague; and a granddaughter, Celeste Oakley of Vallejo, Calif.
Otis Griffin memorial set at 2:17 pm
Otis Born Sept. 30, 1954 in Bryan, Texas, Griffin died unexpectedly at his Seattle, Wash. home on or around Friday, Sept. 1, 2006.
He attended Clinton High School and was active in FFA, art, wrestling and track, graduating in 1972.
After graduation, he continued his education at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford.
He enlisted in the U.S. Army and served at Fort Hood in Texas and Fort Sill in Oklahoma and then was sent to Kore where he served in the Military Police and also trained police canines.
During his Korean stint, he was injured and transferred to Germany for treatment before finally being transferred to Fort Collins, Colo. where he continued his military duty.
Preceding him in death were his father, John Owen Griffin; and a sister, Judith Lynn Griffin.
Survivors include his mother, Joyce, of Elk City; a brother, Gary Griffin and his wife, Barbara, of Clinton; and sisters, Nannette Copland of Foss, Carol Eddy of Burns Flat and Teresa Waters of Cordell.

Services set for Edwards at 12:47 pm
Funeral services for W. Joe Edwards, age 74 of Meeker, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Kiesau Memorial Chapel of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home in Clinton with Rev. Shane Hall officiating.
Funeral services for Deborah Kay Kelso, age 53 of McPherson, Kan., were held this afternoon at the New Life Foursquare Church in McPherson with Pastor Chuck Baker officiating.
Kelso died around Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2006, at her residence. She was born on Oct. 20, 1952 at Concordia, Kan., the daughter of C. Melvin Gepner and Leora M. (Schleuder) Gepner.
Funeral services for Dora A. Malone, age 83 of Clinton, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Custer Avenue Church of Christ with Roy Montgomery and Robert Malone officiating.
Malone died early Sunday, Sept. 24, 2006, in her Clinton home. She was born Aug. 21, 1923, in Honey Grove, Texas, the daughter of Henry and Dora Allen.

Funeral services for Verna Faye Holly, age 73 and an Elk City resident since 1987, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Clinton with Pastor Bobby Stewart and Rev. Dale Nease officiating.

A memorial service for Larry Keith Munsey, age 49 of Gravette, Ark., will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Stanley-Lee Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jessie Musick officiating. Burial will conclude at a later date.
Funeral services for Mary Ellen Marshall, age 80 of Weatherford, will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of the Lockstone Funeral Home in Weatherford with Rev. Rondal Killgore officiating.
Burial will follow in the Stafford Cemetery west of Clinton.

Memorial services for Otis Dwayne Griffin, age 52 and a former Clinton resident, will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Stanley-Lee Funeral Home Chapel with Gavin Wilke, minister of the Church of Christ in Cordell, officiating.
By the request of Otis his cremains will be interred in a national cemetery in Washington state.
