He grew up in Tryon and moved to the Clinton area where he lived with his uncle and aunt, Porter and Dolly Boyer.
He married Pauline Katherine Null on Aug. 28, 1943, in Clinton. He worked in the oilfields and ran a bait house
near Foss Lake. On March 28, 1986, he married Tessa Leek in Port Lavaca, Texas.
Preceding him in death were his parents, wife, two brothers and two sisters.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Stanley Lee Funeral Home in Clinton.
Survivors include three sons, Michael Armstrong of Victoria, Texas, Sidney Armstrong and Scott Armstrong, both of Clinton; a daughter, Vickie Smith of Healdton; two sisters, Leatrice Hibbs and Cora Mae Beck, both of Guthrie; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Laudise Hopkins rites set at 2:33 pm
She was one of eleven children born to Alonzo Bell and Mattie Bell (Lillard) Starr. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, a precious grandson, her parents, two brothers, and one sister.
She is survived by three brothers Glenn (Fern) Starr, Doug (Donna) Starr and Bill Starr all of Bakersfield, CA; four sisters Naomi Stanford of Blair, OK, Edna Adams of Altus, Ok, Joretta Blaylock of Santa Rosa, CA, and Cora Tillet of Bakersfield, CA; her children: Gilbert Gene and Judi Hopkins of Tulsa, OK, Jerry Wayne and Linda Hopkins of Coppell, TX, and Kathryn Ann and Jerry Childress of Livingston, TX; five grandchildren Cherie (Childress) Howell of Bloomington, IL, Jeff Childress of Allen, TX, Pam (Hopkins) Naugher of Broken Arrow, OK, Michelle (Hopkins) Brooks of Jacksonville, FL, and Bryan Hopkins of Coppell, TX; and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services for Laudise Mae (Starr) Hopkins are scheduled for Saturday, January 27, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Blair, with Rev. Randy Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow in the Warren Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
The family of Laudise Hopkins will greet friends Friday evening January 26, 2007 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home in Altus.

Russell died early Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2007, at the Clinton Veterans Center. He was born April 4, 1924 near Foss, the son of John and Bessie (Moss) Russell.
He grew up on the family farm near Foss and graduated from Burns Flat High School in 1944, entering the U.S. Navy the next month and serving during World War II.
Russell married Faye Campbell. He returned to Clinton in 1956 and went to work for Morrison Wholesale and worked there for 30 years before retiring at the age of 62.
Preceding him in death were his wife; parents; two brothers, Bud and Dean; and a sister Colleen.
Burial will conclude under the direction of the Stanley-Lee Funeral Home in Clinton.
Survivors include two sisters, Agnes Adams of Noble, Roberta Leverton of Burns Flat; and three brothers, Gordon of Duncan, Frank of Cordell and Jack of Woodward.
Cherrie Cox services set at 2:29 pm
Cherrie spent many a happy years accompanying her husband, Clyde, USAF, Ret. to England, Japan and Okinawa before settling in Harrah and Clinton, Oklahoma. She and her husband graduated together at Corner High School, Warrior, Alabama in 1948 and they were married December 1950. Cherrie was the Wife and Queen Mother of this family. Her love and devotion will be missed by all the ones closest to her.
She is survived by husband Clyde M. Cox, of 56 years, sons Claude Elon Cox and wife Ana, Clyde M. Cox Jr. and wife Barbra, daughter Cheryl M. Pollett, grandchildren Jennifer Cox, Daryl Cox, Levi Cox, Delita Cox, Christa and Andrew Pollett, Leah and Leyna Pollett. Two sisters Susan Durst and husband Elmer and Patricia Ethridge.
Martha Malloy services held at 8:15 am
She married John Patrick Malloy, and they became members of the First Presbyterian Church in Burns Flat.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her husband and parents, were two daughters, Mary Kay and Corky Price.
Burial will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery at Weatherford under the direction of the Loftiss-Lee Funeral Home in Cordell.
Survivors include a son, Mickey Maloy and his wife, Judy, of Canute; a sister, Margaret Ludwig Fritze of Delaware; five grandchildren, Patrick Malloy of Canute, William Malloy of Weatherford, Megan Malloy of Canute, McKenzie Malloy of Canute and Sean Price of Burns Flat.
Bob Cairns memorial set at 8:15 am
Growing up in Clinton, he went on to graduate from the University of Oklahoma. While at OU he played first base for the Sooners baseball team and went on to play semi-pro ball after graduation. He was a member of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity.
He served in the United States Naval Air Corps during World War II.
He met Barbara Boyce while they were both attending OU, and on June 4, 1947 he married her in Amarillo, Texas.
Cairns then began working for his father-in-law at Armstrong Transfer and Storage Company and Amarillo Warehouse Company. He was a past president of the Southwest Transfer and Storage Association.
In addition to the warehouse and transfer businesses, he was involved with National Car Rental, Dollar, Thrifty Car Rental and Airport Valet Parking at the Amarillo International Airport.
Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents and his first wife, Barbara, in 1994, was a brother, Ray B. Cairns Jr.
In 1998, he married Katy Nichols and moved to Fort Worth.
Private family burial will be held at the Llano Cemetery under the direction of the Schooler Funeral Home of Amarillo, Texas.
Survivors include his wife, Katy Nichols Cairns of Ft. Worth, Texas; a daughter, Julie Albracht of Amarillo, Texas; two sons, Boyce Cairns and his wife, Mud, of Amarillo and Robert Steven Cairns and his wife Paula of Boerne, Texas; a brother, Jack T. Cairns and his wife, Bernie, of Palm Desert, Calif.; four grandchildren, Jennifer Smith, PFC Benjamin Cairns, Ashley Albracht, Michael Cairns; three stepchildren, Linda Zakaryn and her husband, Ted, and their children, Brent and Jill, Mike Nichols and his son, Dimitri, Danny Nichols and his wife, Katie, and their children, Ashley and Adam Nichols and Diana and Harrison Bloxom; and three great grandchildren, Kaden Arenas, Ana Smith and Bennett Smith.
The family suggests that memorials in Robert’s honor may be made to the Crisis Pregnancy Center, 6709 Woodward Ave., Amarillo, Texas 79106.

Her funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the First Presbyterian Church in Clinton with Rev. Carol Waters officiating.
Burial will precede the service at 10 a.m. at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Oklahoma City.
Kelly was born on Jan. 9, 1902 in Blockton, Iowa, the ninth of 11 children born to Milton and Flora Belle (Abbott) McAninch.
The family moved to Edmond when she was three years old, and she graduated from the Edmond schools before getting a normal school degree from then Central State.
She started her teaching career at Ponca City, and a couple of years later she moved to Bristow where she also was a teacher.
Marrying Robert O. Kelly, Sr. on June 1, 1926, they lived in Bristow until 1952 when they moved to Clinton where she taught high school English until she retired.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Friday Bridge Club, Worthwhile Club, Delphia Club and Chapter BR of P.E.O.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her husband; were a son, Dr. Roy O. Kelly, Jr.; eight brothers; two sisters; and a grandson, Roy O. Kelly, III.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home in Clinton.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary Jane Anderson and her husband, Don, of Oklahoma City; a daughter-in-law, Jeane Kelly, of Shawnee; six grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.
The family suggests that memorial contributions in Alberta’s honor may be made to either the First Presbyterian Church or the United Methodist Health Care Center, both in Clinton.
Irene Mattke funeral held at 2:20 pm
She spent her early years in Hardin and attended school there.
On Jan. 4, 1956 she married Leroy Mattke in Billings, Mont., and the young couple traveled extensively with Leroy’s job.
Preceding her in death, along with her parents, were a brother, Elmer; and two sisters, Elsie and Cathy.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Stanley-Lee Funeral Home in Clinton.
Survivors include her husband, Leroy, of the home; a daughter, Connie Hileman and her husband, Justin, of Bessie; a son, Larry Mattke of Arlington, Texas; sisters, Ann Nedens and Helen Prociv of Billings, Mont.; brothers, Phillip and Ed Ryder of Billings, Mont., Leslie and Bob Ryder of Sun City, Ariz.; a grandchild, Shane Hileman; two step granddaughters, Misty Parr, Tonya Hileman; and two great granddaughters, Ashlee Parr and JaeLea Ricketts.
Annie McCoy services set at 2:20 pm
As a child she moved to Dewey County where she met and married Arlo W. McCoy.
The couple made their home in Cordell after many years of farming and working in construction.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her husband, was a grandson.
Survivors include two daughters, Lillie Sue Morgan of Bethany, Arlene (Shockey) Welch and her husband, Harry; a son, Randy McCoy and his wife, Mairlyn Sue, of Putnam; nine grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren.
Ed Hankins funeral held at 2:18 pm
Reared in Seminole, he attended school there and graduated from Seminole High School in 1958. He then went on to attend pharmacy school at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford.
On Feb. 5, 1971 Edward was married to Linda Lowrance. For more than 40 years, Edward owned and operated Eddie’s Service Station in downtown Weatherford and was still active at the time of his death.
Arrangements are under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home in Weatherford.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Hankins, of the home in Weatherford; two sons, Tad Hankins and his wife, Traci, of North Little Rock, Ark., Cal Hankins and his wife, Tisha, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; two daughters, Jody Henry and her husband, Jay, of Carrolton, Texas, Nicole de Castro and her husband, Armondo, of Bethesda, Md.; one sister, Shirley Lawson and her husband, Grover, of Hobbs, N.M.; and 10 grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents; and one daughter, Robin Jackson.
The family suggests that memorial contributions in Edward’s honor may be made to the Southwest Memorial Hospital Building Fund or the Masonic Lodge Scholarship Fund.
Reimer services set at 10:42 am
He was baptized north of Corn on Dec. 17, 1944 and attended Greenfield School through the eighth grade before graduating in 1946 from Corn Bible Academy.
He married Marjorie Moritz on Dec. 7, 1947 and worked as a blacksmith for Chester Flaming as well as driving a bulldozer for his brother and working as a carpenter.
He and his wife farmed for more than 50 years together.
An active member of the Corn Mennonite Brethren Church, he served as a trustee and Sunday school teacher for many years, sang with the gospel team and drove the team bus.
He served for 20 years on the Corn Bible Academy Board of Education and participated in the planning and rebuilding of the school when it burned. All three of his children were CBA alumni.
Preceding him in death were his parents.
Burial will conclude in the Mennonite Brethren Cemetery at Corn under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home in Clinton.
Survivors include his wife, Marjorie, of the home; a daughter, Lucille Penner and her husband, Norman, of Boyden, Iowa; sons, Delmer Reimer and his wife, Robin, of Mountain View, Vernie Reimer and his wife, Brenda, of Calgary, Alberta, Canada; a sister, Bertha Brown and her husband, Harry, of Tulare, Calif.; brothers, Don Reimer and his wife, Jeanette of Mountain View, Dennis Reimer and his wife, Carol, of Springfield, Mo.; seven grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.

Graveside memorial services for Ira Ray Armstrong, age 83 of Lolita, Texas, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Clinton Cemetery with Rev. Bobby Stewart officiating.
Armstrong died Friday, Jan. 5, 2007, in Victoria, Texas. He was born Oct. 24, 1923 in Carney, the son of John Sidney and Katie Kelley Armstrong.
Laudise Mae (Starr) Hopkins was born on September 8, 1922 in Humphrey, Oklahoma. She grew up in the Jackson County area. Her elementary school years were interrupted so that she could work on her Dad’s farm with her brothers and sisters.
She was married to Gilbert Z. Hopkins on September 9, 1939. She was barely 17. He was just 18. They were married in the home of Gilbert’s uncle, a minister. She was a homemaker for most of her life. She loved making a home and cooking for her family. She liked to read, to fish, to sing and to take care of her beautiful flower beds. She loved the Lord and served Him in many ways over her lifetime.

Graveside services for Kenneth Perry Russell, age 82 of Clinton, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday in the Parkersburg Cemetery southwest of Clinton with Jimmie Prickett officiating.
Graveside services for Cherrie L. Cox, 77, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday January 26, 2007 at the Clinton Cemetery with Rev. Shane Hall officiating. Services are under the direction of Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home.
Cherrie was born on September 20, 1929 in Empire, Alabama to Burt Elon and Ora Daffa (Shipp) Attaway and passed away on January 20, 2007 at Integris Clinton Regional Hospital.
Funeral services for Martha E. Malloy, age 84 of Burns Flat, were held this morning at the First Presbyterian Church in Burns Flat with Duawn Mearns officiating.
Malloy died late Sunday, Jan. 21, 2007, at the United Methodist Health Care Center in Clinton. She was born on April 16, 1922 in Titusville, Pa., the daughter of Howard and Jessie Ludwig.
A memorial service for Robert F. Cairns, age 81 of Fort Worth, Texas, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the First Presbyterian Church of Amarillo, Texas with Dr. Murray Gossett officiating.
Cairns died Sunday, Jan. 21, 2007. He was born on May 5, 1925 in Mansfield, Ohio, the son of Ray B. and Ruth Elizabeth Cairns.
Alberta Kelly rites set at 2:20 pm
One hundred and five-year-old Alberta L. Kelly died on Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2007, at the United Methodist Health Care Center in Clinton.
Memorial services for Irene M. Mattke, age 76 of Bessie, were held this morning at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Clinton with Russ Lambert officiating.
Mattke died unexpectedly late Thursday, Jan. 18, 2007, at Integris Clinton Regional Hospital. She was born on Dec. 1, 1930 in Hardin, Mont., the daughter of Phillip and Catherine (Fox) Ryder.
Funeral services for Annie Katherine McCoy, age 89 of Cordell, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Methodist Church in Cordell.
McCoy died Saturday, Jan. 20, 2007. She was born on June 23, 1917 in Custer County, the last of eight children born to A.V. and Effie (Stout) Stephens.
Funeral services for Edward Lee Hankins, age 66 of Weatherford, were held this morning in the Church of Christ at Weatherford with Bruce Lewis officiating.
Hankins died Thursday, Jan. 18, 2007, at St. Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma City. He was born on July 13, 1940 to Edward Charles and Mildred (Williams) Hankins.
Funeral services for Verno Barney Reimer, age 78 of Corn, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Corn Mennonite Brethren Church with Rev. Tim Sandy officiating.
Reimer died Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2007, at the Corn Heritage Village in Corn. He was born on Oct. 8, 1928 near Corn, the first of four children born to Barney F. Reimer and Rosalie Schroeder Reimer.
