Williams services set at 5:13 pm
Chapel services for Billy Joe Williams, 76, of Clinton, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Kiesau Memorial Chapel.

He died early Monday in his home.

Mr. Williams was born June 26, 1930, in Oklahoma City the son of William Oscar Williams and Ruby (White) Williams. He was raised in Mt. View and attended school there. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served in the Korean War from Dec. 26, 1950, until being honorably discharged in December of 1955.

Mr. Williams married Sadie Viola Williams on March 24, 1955. He attended Beauty Barber School in Oklahoma City and would be a barber in Mt. View. He moved to Eakly and was employed as a janitor with Eakly Schools.

He would begin working at the O.K. Turkey Plant in Clinton and moved his family to Clinton in 1969. He was also employed by the Cotton Oil Mill and retired in 1993.

Mr. Williams was a member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Doyle Kinney will officiate the services under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Arapaho Cemetery.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter, Sky-Linn Walters.

He is survived by his wife; three daughters, Mary Allison and her husband, Terry, Neta Adams and her husband, Billy, and Debora Williams, all of Clinton; two sons, Donald Williams and Andrew Jeffrey Williams, both of Clinton; 11 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers that memorial contributions be made to the funeral home to help defray burial expenses.

Larson rites set Tuesday at 4:45 pm
Funeral services for Mildred “Millie” Florence Larson, 96, of Clinton, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Kiesau Memorial Chapel.

Mrs. Larson died Saturday at the Methodist Health Care Center in Clinton.

She was born Feb. 21, 1911, the daughter of Nels and Ida (Carlson) Pearson in Galesburg, Ill. She attended Galesburg High School for two years and would graduate from Brown’s Business School while working at McCollum’s Candy Factory.

After graduation she worked at W.T. Grants Store and later at Admiral Refrigerator Company where she would meet her husband.

She married Fred Larson on Oct. 28, 1931, in Galesburg. The couple moved to Clinton in 1954 and built the first home in the Wilson Addition.

In Clinton Mrs. Larson worked seven years for Cullens Bakery and would work as a cook for Clinton Public Schools a number of years before her retirement.

Mrs. Larson was a member of the Friendly Neighbors Extension Club and the Presbyterian Women’s Circle. She also served as an elder in the church.

Pastor Carol Waters will be officiating the ceremony under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Clinton Cemetery.

Mrs. Larson was preceded in death by her husband; two brothers, Harold Pearson and Clifford Pearson, two sisters, Francis Pearson and Lillian Pearson; a daughter, Donna Jean (Larson) Jones; and a grandson, Brian Watson Jones.

Survivors include a son-in-law, Rod Jones; three grandchildren, Rhonda Jones-Price, Mike Jones and Brad Jones; and eight great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorial contributions in Mrs. Larson’s honor be made to the First Presbyterian Church in Clinton.

Willoughby services set at 4:45 pm
Funeral services for Pauline Willoughby, 35, of Edmond, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Life Church at Edmond.
Mrs. Willoughby died Thursday at her home.

She was born Dec. 22, 1971, in Oklahoma City the daughter of Dale Dobbins and Ann Weldon. She graduated from Westmoore High School.

She married Clay Willoughby on Feb. 10, 1992, in Oklahoma City. She received her Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant Degree from Oklahoma City Community College in 1999 and worked several years for a Clinton nursing home. She attended Life Church in Oklahoma City.

Officiating will be Rev. Chris Spradlin and burial will follow in the Gracelawn Cemetery in Edmond under the direction of the Hinton-Turner Funeral Home.

Mrs. Willoughby was preceded in death by her grandparents, Jettie Dobbins and Eddie T. Buie.

Survivors include her husband; her mother and father; two sisters, Karla Dobbins and Gaylynn McClure, both of Oklahoma City; her brother, David McClure, Oklahoma City; her grandmother, Pearl Buie, Oklahoma City; her mother-in-law, Donna Willoughby, Ruidosa, N.M.; and two brothers-in-law.

Wooten services Sunday at 11:35 am
Funeral services for James “Jim” D. Wooten, age 67 of Cushing, are scheduled for 3 p.m. Sunday at the First Baptist Church in Cushing with Rev. Ralph Hickman officiating.

Wooten, a funeral director with Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Cushing, died Thursday, June 7, 2007, at St. John’s Medical Center in Tulsa. He had worked as an embalmer in Clinton at one time.

Jim was born on Nov. 15, 1939 in Electra, Texas, the son of Fred V. and Billie Ruth (Sawyer) Wooten.

He grew up in Electra, graduating from Electra High School in 1959 and going on to attend mortuary school in Houston, Texas at the Commonwealth Mortuary College.

A licensed funeral director and embalmer, he had worked for numerous funeral homes in Texas and Oklahoma including Clinton, Hobart and Hinton. He owned the Hunsaker-Wooten Funeral Home in Fairfax from 1992 to 1996.

While living in Fairfax, he was a member of the First Baptist Church, Chamber of Commerce and Booster Club before moving in 2003 to Cushing to work at the Palmer Marler Funeral Home.

Wooten was a member of the First Baptist Church where he sang in the choir and helped with the nursing home.

Interment will follow at 2 p.m. Monday with graveside services at the Electra Memorial Cemetery in Electra, Texas under the direction of the Palmer Marler Funeral Home of Cushing.

Survivors include his brothers, Bill Wooten and his wife Brenda of College Station, Texas, Bill Wallace of Las Vegas, Nev., Jerry Doss of Electra, Texas and Randy Doss of Jayton, Texas; sisters, Patti Martinez of Las Vegas, Nev. and Gail Bailey of Newcastle, Texas; and his stepmother, Wanda Wooten of Houston, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Services set for Hook at 4:57 pm
Funeral services for William Dean Hook, age 95 of Weatherford, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the First United Methodist Church at Weatherford with Rev. Lynn Brack and Bro. David Beck officiating.

Burial will follow in Mound Valley Cemetery in Thomas.

Hook died Thursday, June 7, 2007, at Weatherford Regional Hospital. He was born on Dec. 21, 1911, the son of Carl and Cordelia Jane “Jenny” (Farmer) Hook on a farm southeast of Putnam.

He graduated from Independence High School before attending SWOSU for two years. He transferred to the University of Oklahoma where he graduated with a business administration degree in 1932.

Hook married Dorothy Brundage in 1937. She preceded him in death in 1967.

In 1968, he married Zella Conkling.

Hook farmed southeast of Putnam, was the J.I. Case franchise dealer in Thomas, wrote insurance and taught school.

He was a Deputy Custer County Assessor for 20 years and worked part-time for the U.S. Department

Hook was a 32nd Degree Mason, serving as a Worshipful Master while in Thomas.

He served as chairman of the board of the United Methodist Church in Thomas for several years and later served as secretary of Sunday school for the United Methodist Church in Weatherford.

The funeral is under the direction of the Lockstone Funeral Home of Weatherford.

Survivors include his wife, Zella Hook of the home; one daughter, Dorothy Dunaway and her husband, Larry, of Sarasota, Fla.; one son, Dr. Carl Hook and his wife, Sandra, of Norman; one stepson, Frank Conkling and his wife, Carol, of Weatherford; two stepdaughters, Bertha Nickel of Stillwater, Judy Coffey and her husband, Len, of Oklahoma City; grandchildren, Cori Loomis of Oklahoma City, Dr. Kevin Hook of Tulsa, Amber Morlan of Weatherford, Bret Nickel of Denver, Colo., Cy Coffey of Edmond, Drew Conkling of Locust Grove, Lisa Schneider of Edmond, Kirk Nickel of Austin, Texas; and one sister, Erma Smith of Clinton.

Bergmann services set at 4:46 pm
Funeral services for Edna A. Bergmann, 84, of Corn will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the Corn Mennonite Brethren Church.

Mrs. Bergmann died Tuesday, June 5, 2007, in the Integris Baptist Hospital in Oklahoma City.

She was born April 24, 1923, the daughter of John P. and Elizabeth (Wiens) Stobbe in Corn. She was raised there and attended Corn Bible Academy.

She married Paul Bergmann on Sept. 12, 1946, in Corn. They farmed in the area for many years and moved to their present home in 1980. Mrs. Bergmann also owned and operated her own catering business.

She was a member of the Corn Mennonite Brethren Church and active in the Senior Singers, Women’s Mission Circle, helped with Wednesday Fellowship Meals, was active with the Corn Senior Citizens and volunteered at the Et Cetera Shop in Weatherford.

Rev. Tim Sandy will be conducting the services and burial will follow in the Corn Cemetery under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 2000 and three sisters, Bertha Stobbe, Alice Reimer and Pauline Gossen.

She is survived by four daughters, Elaine Flaming and her husband, Dennis, of Fairview, Ethel Bergmann of Edmond, Rosemary Nikkel and her husband, Keith, of Corn, Robbie Stoldt and her husband, Marvin, of Bethany; her brother, Dan Stobbe and his wife, Linda, of Corn; eight granddaughters, Monica Hoover, Melissa Ford, Meredith Cannady, Tarina Bittle, Kimbra Pahl, Deidra Rector, Sarah Barton, Leanne Stoldt; and seven great-grandchildren.

Vera Gauger services set at 4:55 pm
Graveside services for Vera Florence Gauger, age 87 and a longtime Clinton resident, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Parkersburg Cemetery southwest of Clinton with Brother Charles Murphy officiating.

Gauger was born Jan. 9, 1920, in Foss, the daughter of James Vernon and Nannie (Dodson) McLaughlin.

She died early today, July 11, 2007, in the United Methodist Health Care Center in Clinton. She had been a resident of Angelwood for the past few months.

Growing up in the Stafford area where she graduated from high school, she married Rogers R. Gauger on July 5, 1941 in Clinton, and they lived in Clinton their entire married lives.

She had worked at J.C. Penney’s, Gunn Brothers Stamp Store, Jack’s Flowers and most recently for the Clinton Public Library before retiring in 1985.

Preceding her in death were her parents and husband as well as two sisters, Sadie Sawatzky, Lavon Mathes; and five brothers, Albert, Clyde, Roy, Claude and Everett.

Burial will conclude under the direction of the Stanley-Lee Funeral Home in Clinton.

Survivors include two sons, Randal Gauger and his wife, Ruth Ann, of Clinton, David Gauger and his wife, Linda, of Brownfield, Texas; sisters, Margaret “Peg” Dunnington and her husband, Olen, of Pueblo, Colo., Lena Klein and her husband, Mark, of Carlsbad, N.M., Zora Mae “Sis” Nieto and her husband, Greg, of Burkburnett, Texas; 5 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

Robert Tupper death listed at 4:50 pm
Word was received today of the death of Robert Owen Tupper, age 83 of Purcell, on Thursday, July 5, 2007, at Purcell Municipal Hospital.

Tupper was born Aug. 31, 1923 in Hathaway, La. in the Jefferson-Davis Parish. He was the oldest of three sons born to Roy James Tupper and Ellen Blodwen Williams Tupper.

He married Blanche Ida Leach on June 22, 1947 in York, Neb. where they met while attending college.

Bob, after graduating from Jennings High School in Jennings, La., attended York College in York, Neb., graduating in 1945. He then went to Union Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio where he graduated in 1948.

He began his ministry with the Evangelical United Brethren Church starting with Union Chapel Church in Germantown, Ohio and then moving on to pastor churches in Lissie, Wichita Falls, and San Antonio, Texas.

He also served as minister of the Capital Hill E.U.B, in Oklahoma City. Following the union of the E.U.B. and Methodist Churches, he served at United Methodist Churches in Oklahoma City and later in Purcell from June of 1977 to February of 1985, then Drumright and Prague.

After retiring, he and Blanche moved back to Purcell in 1989 where he served as part time minister to churches in Friendship, Pocasset and Washington, Okla.

He was a 50-year Master Mason and a member of the Rotary Club.

Preceding him in death, along with his parents and a stepfather, Edward Larson, were a daughter, Judyth Allene Tupper, in 1949; his wife of 47 years, Blanche Ida Leach Tupper on March 8, 1994; and two brothers, Warren Worth and Roy James Tupper of Lake Charles, La.

Survivors include a daughter, Jocelyn Tupper of Doniphan, Neb.; two sons, Robert Owen Tupper II of Clinton, Richard Paul Tupper of Round Rock, Texas; two grandchildren; Robert Owen Tupper III of Amarillo, Texas, Brittany Tupper of Oklahoma City; and two sisters-in-law, Vashti Tupper of Choudrant, La. and Peggy Tupper of Lake Charles, La.

Haught services Monday at 6:00 pm
Mass of Christian burial for Jonny Haught, age 58 of Elk City, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Matthew Catholic Church in Elk City with Father Carl Janocha officiating.

Prayer vigil services for Haught are set for 7 p.m. Sunday at the Whinery-Savage Funeral Service Chapel in Elk City with Deacon Paul Albert officiating.

Haught died Wednesday, July 11, 2007, at his home. He was born on March 16, 1949 in Oklahoma City, the son of Lois Eileen (Precure) and William Ross Haught.

Growing up in Nicoma Park, he graduated from Choctaw High School and furthered his education at Rose State College in Midwest City and LeTourneau University on a basketball scholarship.

He later graduated from the former Central State University at Edmond with a Bachelor of Science in physical education and English.

He taught and coached at Nicoma Park in Oklahoma City and at Pine Tree in Longview, Texas.

He later moved back to Oklahoma and began a career in the oilfields with Harper Oil, Apache Corporation and most recently with Plaster & Wald Consulting Corp.

On Dec. 7, 1989 he married Marsha Lee Beck at Las Vegas, Nev.

They later made their home near Foss Lake and eventually at Elk City.

He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Clinton.

Preceding him in death, along with his parents, was a sister, Barbara Ann Camp.

Burial will be at the St. Francis Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Marsha, of the home; four children, Andrew Wray Haught and his wife, Christina, of Longview, Texas, Jon Michael Haught and his wife, Melissa, of Duncan, Kelly Lynn Beck and his wife, Tina, of Yukon, Karyn Renee Boyd and her husband, Gary, of Canute; eight grandchildren, Amber, Baylee, McKinsey, Paige, Corey, Lynsey, Carley, Garrett; a brother, Donald Ross Haught and his wife, Marilyn, of Lawton; and a sister, Lois Carol Poindexter of Henderson, Nev.
