The funeral for Ida Smith, 102, of Stillwater, will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Zion Lutheran Church in Stillwater. The Rev. Carlton Riemer will officiate. Burial will be 2 p.m. in Grace Hill Cemetery in Perry. Arrangements are by Brown-Dugger Funeral Home of Perry.
She was born July 2, 1904, in Noble County to Ernest and Linda Schwotzer Gottschalk and died Thursday, Oct. 5, 2006, in Stillwater.
She married Clayton Austin Smith June 6, 1934, in Oklahoma City. He died in 1975.
Surviving are one daughter, Patricia Ann Smith Andrews of Stillwater; one brother, Walter Gottschalk of Perry; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one brother.
Memorials may be made to Lutheran Hour through the funeral home, 1010 N. 7th Street, Perry, OK 73077.

Funeral services for Jan Katherine Carnell, 66, late of Deerfield Beach, Florida, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Sat-urday, Oct. 7, 2006 at Henninger-Allen Fun-eral Home. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Ceme-tery.
Jan Katherine was born to James Leonard and Helen Maxine Wilcox Carnell on January 1, 1940 in Muskogee and died September 23, 2006 at home in Deerfield Beach.
Jan, her parents, and Jim moved to Enid in 1940. Jan was an honor student throughout school and was scheduled to graduate from Enid High School in 1958. Instead, she entered the University of Tulsa on scholarship in the fall of 1957. Initially a botany major, Jan graduated with a B.A. in English in May of 1961.
Jan Katherine moved to Washington, D.C. immediately after graduation, where she began teaching English in a private academy. In the mid-60s, she moved to the computer field and remained in that field until retirement in 2003. During her professional life she was employed as a programmer, was a principal partner in a processing and software firm, worked as a government employee and was a contractor with the government.
Jan was active in the Metropolitan Washington Mensa group and was a lifetime member. She invented an acclaimed game, which later was copyrighted by her and an attorney.
During Jan Katherine’s life in Enid, she was active in many aspects of young student life, music, and sports. In sixth grade, she was Class A Little Olympics high point girl, breaking the baseball throw record by some 30 feet. She played the cello and the bassoon and was a devoted opera buff. Jan and Jim were baptized into University Place Christian Church. Later, she, as well as all her siblings and her father, was baptized into First Baptist Church. Prior to her death, she had planned to relocate back to Oklahoma.
Jan Katherine was preceded in death by her parents, James Leonard and Helen Maxine Wilcox Carnell. She is survived by her brothers and sister and their spouses, James Leonard Jr. and Gloriadel Allen Carnell, Jon Anthony and Claudia Jean Sallee Carnell, Jim and Jean Marie Carnell Mathews, and Joseph Lee Carnell. Jan was a benevolent and proud aunt to Jennifer Lynn Carnell, Janice Lea Carnell Sands, Matthew Parker Mathews, Collette Simone Carnell Amend, Jessica Lauren Carnell, Andrew Francis Dunn, James Leonard Carnell III, Eric Lee Carnell, and Alexander Howard Carnell. Jan Katherine was also grand-aunt to five.
Family will have a visitation at the Holiday Inn Express with family and friends today at 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. in the Media Room. (Paid Obit 10-6-1)
Russell Lloyd Lovely died Monday, Oct. 2, 2006, after an extended battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his brother, W.R., who died as a child, and wife Betty on Dec. 14, 1999.
He was born March 7, 1921, in Ames, OK to Russell and Era Sharpless Lovely. In 1939, he graduated from Ames High School, then attended OU for two years. During World War II and the Korean conflict he served as a quarter master in the U.S. Navy, stationed overseas for the majority of the time. After his double hitch and honorable discharge, he moved to Enid to pursue a career in accounting.
One evening while going through the checkout line at Safeway Grocery, he spotted Betty Mae Pierce and some would say, the rest is history, as they were soon married on Sept. 6, 1954. In 1986, after 30 years of service to Groendyke Transportation Inc., he retired.
He was a former commander of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2270, a charter member of Enid Men’s Garden Club, member of St. Francis Catholic Church and frequently attended Central Christian Church.
He is survived by three daughters, Peggy and Larry Brown of Springfield, MO, Corena and Ken Lipstreuer of Kingwood, TX, and Jo and Darryl Rogers of Enid; one grandson, Russell and Sarah Hartlein; four granddaughters, Nicole and James Hostetler, Erin and Mike Heslin, Kensey Lipstreuer and Morgan Lipstreuer; and two great-grandchildren, Ella Maye Hostetler and Justin Hartlein; a brother, Robert and Alice Lovely; sister, Quzenne and Bill Rollosson; and loving companion, Irene Green.
A visitation was at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday. A Celebration of Life service will be 10:30 a.m. today, Friday, Oct. 6, 2006 at Ladusau-Evans Chapel. Burial will follow in Ames Cemetery.

Geraldine Peggy Wright Allen of Erlanger, Ky., died Sunday, Oct. 1, 2006, at 5:15 a.m.
Geraldine was born on Feb. 5, 1916, in Roosevelt, Okla., to Claude and Nelle Wright. She lived there until her family moved to Hobart, Okla., in 1928. After graduating from Hobart High School, Geraldine attended Oklahoma A&M.; She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in education. Geraldine taught school for one year.
She married Richard Roy “Dick” Allen Aug. 8, 1940, in New Orleans, La. Geraldine and Dick lived in New Orleans the first two years of the marriage. Dick worked for Price-Waterhouse as an accountant. They moved to Orange, Texas, and lived there for several years. In Orange they were members of the Propeller Club. Geraldine and Dick have a son, Richard, and a daughter, Judy. Richard lives in Springfield, Va., and Judy lives in Southgate, Ky. Geraldine was a devoted mother and a caring grandmother.
In 1957, they returned to Houston. They were members of Lakeside Country Club and the Petroleum Club. In 1969 Dick retired from Schlumberger Well Surveying Co. They decided to spend some time traveling in Europe. They visited a number of countries. In 1975 they moved to Ames. They built a home and lived there until Dick died in 1978. Geraldine then moved to Enid. Later Geraldine continued to travel. She took her daughter, Judy, and her daughter-in-law Cathy to the British Isles and to several other European countries.
Geraldine had a number of interests. She enjoyed playing bridge, attending musical concerts, painting, and especially reading. She was very intellectually curious and loved reading good literature.
Geraldine was a lifelong member of the Disciples of Christ Church. She and Dick worked tirelessly to help acquire finances to build a new church in Orange. While living in Ames she started acquiring books for a library in the little Ames Christian Church. She was able to get donations for 400 books.
Geraldine is survived by her son and daughter, five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one great-grandson.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday in the Chapel at Central Christian Church. Viewing is at 9:30 a.m. Burial will be 4:30 p.m. in Hobart Rose Cemetery, Hobart.

A graveside service for Betty Ellen Endecott, 59, will be 10 a.m. Thursday in Summit View Cemetery, Guthrie. The Rev. Mike Channel will officiate. Arrangements are by Abernathy-Aaron Funeral Home, Crescent.
She was born June 12, 1948, in Guthrie to Roy and Flora Short Fent and died Monday, Oct. 1, 2007, in Guthrie.
She married Gary Endecott July 3, 1970, in Brownsville, Texas. She was a member of Oak Valley Baptist Church, Crescent. She played the organ and taught Sunday school at Nobel Ave. Baptist Church and also at Oak Valley Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband, Gary of the home; one son, Nicholas Ryan Endecott of Crescent; one stepson, Wilbur Lee Endecott of Dover; one stepdaughter, Lori Burpole of Oklahoma City; three grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by one daughter and one grandson.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.

A wake service for Maurice “Funny” Lime Jr., 68, of Canton, will be 8 p.m. Thurs-day at Canton Christian Church. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Fri-day at Canton Public Schools’ multi-purpose building. Steve Driskill and the Rev. Gerald Panana will officiate. Burial will be in Mennonite Indian Cemetery. Arrangements are by Haigler-Pierce Funeral Home, Canton.
He was born Dec. 1, 1938, south of Canton, to Maurice and Mae Bates Lime and died Monday, Oct. 1, 2007, at Integris Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City.
He attended school at Canton and at Concho Boarding School. He had worked as a security guard and later as a law enforcement officer for the Bureau of Indian Affairs. He also worked for Wheeler Brothers Grain Co. for 18 years, retiring in 1996.
He married Charlene Sutton on May 30, 1976.
Surviving are his wife, Charlene, of the home; eight children, Darwin Lime and Timothy Lime, both of Woodward, Derwin Lime of Oklahoma City, Diane Willis, Judy Lime and Daryl Williams, all of Watonga, Betty Ruiz of Purcell and Marlene Reyes of El Reno; two brothers, George Poolaw of Oklahoma City and Buddy Bates of El Reno; six sisters, Bobbie Simpson of Geary, Christine Little Raven of Canton, Ruth Good Blanket of Clinton, Mary Louise Meeks of Shawnee and Georgette and Beverly Childs, both of Red Rock; 36 grandchildren; and 37 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by seven brothers and six sisters.
The funeral for Shirley M. Majors, 72, of Enid, will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, 2007, at Liberty Southern Baptist Church. Rev. Jerry Holt will officiate. There will be a private family burial in Memorial Park Ce-metery. Arrange-ments are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
She was born May 10, 1936 in Little Rock, AR, to William and Martha Dukes and died Friday, Sept. 28, 2007 at Integris Bass Baptist Health Center.
She married G.E. Majors Oct. 3, 1955 in San Diego, CA. They moved to Enid in 1997.
Surviving are her husband, G.E. of the home; a son, Neal Majors of Enid; a son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Kristy Majors of Enid; a daughter, Deanna Majors of Enid; a daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Michael Zarnowitz of San Marcos, CA; four grandsons; and two great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Enid Shrine Club with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home acting as custodian of the funds.

D. Elizabeth Jech, 83, died Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2007, in Oklahoma City, OK. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 5, 2007, at First Christian Church of Kingfisher with Rev. John Sellers officiating. Interment will be in Kingfisher Cemetery under the direction of Sanders Funeral Service Inc., Kingfisher.
Elizabeth was born March 12, 1924 in Lexington, OK to John and Jessie (McKay) Fields.
She married Alfred J. Jech Dec. 31, 1941, in Wichita, KS. She was a housewife and operated her own business as a hairdresser. She was a member of First Christian Church of Kingfisher where she served as deaconess. She also was a member of the KEWA’s.
Elizabeth and Alfred enjoyed more than 65 years of happy marriage. She assisted him with the family farming operations and enjoyed traveling with him. She loved to sew, cook, and she especially loved music and dancing. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the light of her life.
Elizabeth is survived by her husband, Alfred of the home; son, A.J. Jech Jr. and his wife Cheryl of Oklahoma City; daughter, Wanda Cline of Oklahoma City; and son, Alan J. Jech and his wife Lori of Duncan. She has seven grandchildren, Susan McCaleb of Edmond, Scott Jech of Norman, and Adam, Taylor, Mallory, Caleb and Connor Jech, all of Duncan. She also has four great-granddaughters, Brittney of Tulsa, Ashley of New Orleans, LA, and Abbey and McKenzie of Edmond. She has two sisters, Lucille Manning and Marilyn Frye of Wichita, KS; and one brother, Tom Fields of Houston, TX.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother Jack Fields.
Helen LaJune Spears, 91, died Friday morning, Sept. 28, 2007, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center after almost two months of declining health resulting from a hip fracture.
She professed her faith in Jesus Christ at an early age and had been a resident of Golden Oaks Retirement Village for a number of years following her retirement from First National Bank, where she had worked since 1958.
She was a widow of the Rev. Paul Bert Spears who died June 27, 1990.
Mrs. Spears, who was born June 2, 1916 in Prospect, MT., was the only child of the late Nick and Della (Barker) Birk. She graduated from high school in Conrad, MT in 1934, and married Paul Spears, pastor of First Christian Church there on Feb. 6, 1944.
They later moved to Enid and then to Waukomis, where the Rev. Spears was pastor of the Christian Church, and later to Snyder, where she was a teller at First National Bank for approximately 14 years. The family returned to Enid in 1958 and Mrs. Spears finished out her long years in the banking industry at First National Bank of Enid.
Mrs. Spears is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Evalee and Heinz F. Poellet of Oak Creek, WI; a stepson, Allen Spears and his wife Colleen Sheppard of Nashville, TN; and a stepdaughter, Valdean and her husband the Rev. H. Wallis Dobson of Greeneville, TN. Survivors also include a grandson, Maj. Derek Jon Poellet of the U.S. Air Force Reserve Command and his wife Jennifer and their three daughters, Anna, Aleksia and Amelia of Sanford, N.C. and a granddaughter Capt. Keira Ayn Poellet of the U.S. Air Force, stationed in the Azores; step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren who survive are: Jeff Keller of Charlotte, N.C. and his daughter Sarah Keller of Greeneville, TN, Mrs. Phillip (Laurie) Evans and her sons, Eric and Andrew Evans of Greeneville, TN, Jacque Lyons of Greeneville, TN and her children Jordan Wilson of Bristol, TN and Courtney Wilson of Greeneville, TN, Mrs. Gary (Pamela) Waddell and her son, Cory Ryan Mathes of Greeneville, TN, Mrs. Mike (Stacey) Wallis and her daughter, Samantha of Warner, Becky Westbrook of Muskogee and her daughters, Lindsay and Emily, both of Clute, TX, Mrs. Jeff (Andrea) Harsha and daughters, Miranda and Cassidy of Clute, TX and Mrs. Sharon (Stephani) Factor and her son, Stephen of San Jose, CA; two nieces and one nephew; and cousins in Minnesota.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, 2007 at Golden Oaks Retirement Village, where the Rev. and Mrs. Spears lived in their retirement years. Norman “Shorty” Unruh, Chaplain at Golden Oaks, will conduct the service and burial will follow immediately in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are made by Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Golden Oaks Retirement Village Chapel or to the favorite charity of donor's choice.
