EVA ROSE HICKS
Eva Rose Hicks, 97, retired registered nurse, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, passed from this life on Wednesday, June 7, 2006, while surrounded by her loving family in Fort Worth, Texas.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today, June 10, 2006, at Red Rock Methodist Church with Dr. Ted Spears officiating. Burial will be in Red Rock Cemetery following the services. Services are under the direction of Wilson Funeral Home in El Reno.
Eva was born March 23, 1909, to Charles and Matilda (Brooks) Hopkins. She was one of seven children. She and Charles M. Hicks were married August 30, 1935, in Enid, OK. Eva graduated from Baptist Hospital as a registered nurse in Enid, OK. She was instrumental in starting one of the first hospital recovery rooms at St. Mary’s Hospital in Enid. She volunteered to aid in relief efforts for injured tornado victims and worked with iron lung polio patients during the polio epidemics.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Charles M. Hicks, and her daughter, Patricia A. Dickerson.
Survivors include two daughters, Charlene Stephens and husband Bill, of High Bar Harbor, N.J., and Della Cogan and husband Tom, of Annapolis, Md.; two sisters, Lela Ankney of El Reno, OK, and Celesta Anderson of Oklahoma City; nine grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested memorial donations be made to Red Rock Cemetery Assoc., Attn: Eldon Ridenour, 4205 S. Cedar Rd., Calumet, OK 43014. (Paid Obit 6-10-1)

JOYCE ANN CORNISH
A funeral service for Joyce Ann Cornish, age 65, will be 10 a.m. Monday at the Abundant Life Temple with pastor David Robinson, the Rev. Terry Walborn and the Rev. Al Cascioli officiating. Burial will be in Me-morial Park Cemetery, with ar-rangements by Ander-son-Burris Funeral Home.
She was born to Le-Roy and Hattie (Maynard) Sparks on Aug. 19, 1940, in Enid and died Thursday, June 8, 2006, at her home in Enid.
Joyce grew up in Enid and graduated from Enid High School. On Dec. 4, 1959, she married Ralph W. Cornish, and they made their home in Enid. She worked in housekeeping at Meadowlake Hospital. She was a member of Abundant Life Temple and was the Sunday school secretary for many years.
She is survived by her husband, Ralph of the home; two sons, Edward Cornish and wife Cheryl of Enid and Jerry Cornish and wife Donna of Mesquite, Texas; one daughter, Rhonda Kay Joyner of Sweet Home, Ore.; her mother, Hattie Sparks of Enid; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three brothers, Kenneth Sparks, LeRoy Sparks and John Sparks, all of Enid; and two sisters, Mildred Frank of Creswell, Ore., and Sue Garis of Enid.
She was preceded in death by her father, LeRoy Sparks, and sister, Arduth Tribble.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Abundant Life Temple.

LOU EMMA WALTON HOLMES
The funeral for Lou Emma Walton Holmes, 87, will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Cooper Funeral Chapel, Tecumseh. Don Pate of Church of God, Shawnee, will officiate. Burial will be 3 p.m. at Enid Cemetery. Arrangements are by Cooper Funeral Home, Tecumseh.
She was born April 25, 1919, in Lindsay to Samuel Lafayette and Lillly Amelia Moore Walton and died Wednesday, June 7, 2006, in Shawnee.
She grew up in Lindsay, and lived in Enid and Stroud before moving to Shawnee in 1989. She graduated from Lind-sey High School.
She married Virgil Holmes April 2, 1937, in Anadarko. He died April 2, 1985.
She owned and operated a restaurant in Eakly, and worked several years as a home health care aide. She was a Chickasaw tribal elder and a member of Church of God in Shawnee, where she was active in church missions. She was active in Girl Scouts and Campfire Girls with her daughter.
Surviving are her daughter, Marilyn Lou Miller of Manitou; six sons, Peter Lynn Holmes of Carney, Meryl Dean Holmes of Stigler, Eric Earl Holmes of Phoenix, B.D. Holmes of Hulbert, Virgil Arthur Holmes of Shawnee and Jerry Don Holmes of San Antonio; three sisters, Vera Bowlware of Oklahoma City, Winona Bourland of Kerrville, Texas, and Faith Ellen Pate of Shawnee; 21 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, one son, one sister, one brother and one granddaughter.

IRL WAYNE HENRY
The funeral for Irl Wayne Henry, 84, will be 2 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church, Perry. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today at Brown-Dugger Funeral Home, Perry.
He was born Nov. 26, 1921, in Perry to Irl and Verla Oden Henry and died Tuesday, June 6, 2006.
He graduated from Perry High School in 1940. He was in the Navy during World War II, serving as a gunner’s mate first class on the battleship New Jersey. Upon being honorably discharged, he attended Central State College (now University of Central Oklahoma) and was a member of the wrestling team. He married Hulda Mary Duncan Aug. 28, 1948, in Perry.
As a member of the Naval Reserve, he was called to active duty in 1950 and served in the Korean War on the aircraft carrier USS Essex. After his discharge, he worked 36 years for Sinclair Oil and Gas, which later became Atlantic Richfield.
He was a member of First Baptist Church, where he served as a Sunday school teacher and greeter. He was Scoutmaster for Troop 44 in Perry and received the Silver Beaver Award, one of the highest awards a Scout leader can obtain. He also was a pee-wee baseball coach.
Surviving are his wife, Hulda, of the home; daughter Kathy Henry of Tulsa; two sons, Terry Henry of Houston and David Henry of Perry; two brothers, Ronald Henry of Odessa, Texas, and Bob Henry of Walters; one sister, Carmelita Austin of Troy, Mich.; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Perry High School Wrestling Foundation or First Baptist Church of Perry.

FRANK D. O’BANION
Funeral services for Frank D. O’Banion, age 77, of Enid, will be held Sunday, June 11, 2006, at 2 p.m. at the Central Christian Church. Rev. John McLemore will officiate. Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
He was born Jan. 10, 1929, in Oilton, OK, to William and Grace (Carey) O’Banion and died June 6, 2006, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center. Frank served in the Army during the Korean War. He married Joyce Pedigo May 28, 1955, in Enid. He was a salesman and purchasing agent for the George E. Failing Co. of Enid. He was a member of the Central Christian Church and the Sooner Sunday School Class.
He is survived by his daughter, Nancy O’Banion of Claremore, OK, and his son, Mike O’Banion and his wife Martha of Enid, OK; grandchildren Aaron and Ryan; sister Ida McNeal of Enid; brothers Floyd O’Banion of Enid, Bruce O’Banion of Enid and Robert O’Banion of Moriah, N.Y.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Joyce, and sister, Opal Groom.

MILDRED ANN ‘MILLIE’ REDDICK SHARP
Sharp, Mildred Ann “Millie” Reddick, 87, retired IRS tax auditor, died Wednesday, June 7, 2006. Memorial services will be held 10 a.m. Friday, June 9, in the auditorium at Larksfield Place, 7373 E. 29th, Wichita, Kan. Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. Friday in Enid, Oklahoma, at Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Downing & Lahey Mortuary East, Wichita.
Millie was born May 30, 1919 on the family farm near Kremlin, Oklahoma, to Walter and Elsie (Williams) Ingham. She graduated from Hunter High School and attended Oklahoma State University for two years, then worked for the Champlin Refining Co. in Enid. Millie was the head of civilian payroll at McConnell Air Force Base when it was first organized, and then transferred to the Internal Revenue Service in Wichita as a tax auditor.
She married Fred Ernest Reddick, March 1942. To this union was born a son, Gregory Bruce, and into this marriage Ernie brought his daughter, Shirley Ann Reddick. Mildred married Ted K. Sharp, Aug. 30, 1964. Into this marriage Ted brought his four daughters, Delores, Anita, Madeline and Lori. She had a lifetime membership in the business women’s sorority, Delta Theta Chi.
Millie was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Ernest; brothers, Glen and Johnny Ingham; her parents; and grandson, Patrick Murphy.
She is survived by her husband, Ted; son, Greg and wife Dee Ann of Tucson, Ariz.; step-daughters and spouses, Shirley and Ivan Dowers of Fairview, Delores Sharp and Anita Sharp, both of Topeka, Madeline and Allen Tollefson of Lecompton, Kan., and Loretta Sharp of Denver, Colo.; grandchildren, Jason Reddick, Patti Reidhead, Vicki Seward, Bruce Eldred, Amy Turner, Lisa Michaelis, Gina Vicedo, Cary Murphy and Darwin Dooley; great-grandchildren, Brandon, Chad and Spencer Eldred, Kari and Kacee Adams, Nicholas Turner, Neeley and Charlie Michaelis, Addison and Austin Vicedo, Taylor and Ryan Dooley and Erin Murphy-Grimes; niece, Barbara Kelly of Wichita; numerous other nieces and nephews; and many close friends and her Larksfield family and staff.

COURT ‘PINKY’ ARTHUR NEWKIRK JR.
The funeral for Court “Pinky” Arthur Newkirk Jr., 86, will be 2 p.m. Friday at Central Christian Church. The Rev. John McLemore will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery with full military graveside rites by Vance Air Force Base Silver Talon Honor Guard. Arrange-ments are by Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.
He was born Dec. 15, 1919, in Enid to Court Albert and Pauline Strauss Newkirk and died Wednesday, June 7, 2006.
He was a lifetime member of Central Christian Church and a charter member of Sooner Sunday school class. He drove the church bus and was a deacon and served on the church board.
He participated in the first Tri-State Music Festival with the Longfellow Junior High Band. He graduated from Enid High School in 1938. He served in the Oklahoma National Guard and attended Oklahoma A&M College.
He was attending Phillips University when he was called into the armed forces prior to the start of World War II. He entered flight training for the Army Air Corps at Enid Air Station, graduating with class 43E. He was a flight instructor and cargo pilot during World War II, flying cargo missions in the Middle East when the war ended. He returned to Enid and continued in the Air Force Reserves, retiring as lieutenant colonel in 1972.
He joined the U.S. Postal Service and was a letter carrier for 27 years. He was a member of Men’s Garden Club and played cards with Red Carpet and Sooner bridge clubs.
He married Betty May McKinney Jan. 10, 1943. They had been married 58 years at her death in 2001.
Surviving are one daughter, Janice Newkirk of Enid; a son, Court Alvin Newkirk of Lawton; one sister, Barbara Lomsinger of Riverside, Calif.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Betty, he was preceded in death by one son.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Hospice Circle of Love or Central Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) handbell choirs.

PEGGY MOORE
The funeral for Peggy Moore, 73, will be 2 p.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church. The Rev. Robyn Thompson-Goggs will officiate. Burial will be in Dover Cemetery. Arrange-ments are by Cordry-Gritz Funeral Home, Hennessey.
She was born June 9, 1932, in Seymour, Texas, to James K. and Amy Lucy James Fox and died Tuesday, June 6, 2006, at OU Medical Center, Oklahoma City.
She married John C. Moore March 23, 1950, in Iowa Park, Texas.
Surviving are her husband, John, of the home; four daughters, Nelda Goins and Tammy Moore, both of Hennessey, Deborah McDade of Houston and Linda McCage of Enid; four sons, David and Mike Moore, both of Hennessey, William Moore of Elk City, and Randy Moore of Ardmore; 13 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters and one grandson.
Memorials may be made to Hennessey Public Library or by donating blood in her name at Northwest Oklahoma Blood Institute in Enid.

MILDRED ANN ‘MILLIE’ REDDICK SHARP

BILLY RAY ‘WILLIE’ CRENSHAW
The funeral for Billy Ray “Willie” Crenshaw, 64, of Geary, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the Geary school gym. Clarence Seals will officiate. Burial will be in Geary Cemetery. Arrangements are by Russworm Funeral Home, Watonga.
He was born Aug. 31, 1941, in Geary to Percy and Lillian Crenshaw and died Friday, June 2, 2006, in Oklahoma City.
He graduated from Douglas High School in 1959. He later enlisted in the military before receiving his honorable discharge.
He married Jeanette E. Johnson in 1966. He was a racing official and secretary.
Surviving are four children, Katrinia Crenshaw, Percy Crenshaw, Mason Crenshaw and Janae Crenshaw, all of Texas; his mother, Lillian Crenshaw of the home; a brother, Robert Earl Crenshaw; and six grandchildren.
