The funeral for Frank D. O’Banion, 77, of Enid will be 2 p.m. Sunday, at Central Christian Church. The Rev. John McLemore will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
He was born Jan. 10, 1929, in Oilton to William and Grace Carey O’Banion and died Tuesday, June 6, 2006, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center.
He served in the Army during the Korean War.
He married Joyce Pedigo May 28, 1955, in Enid. He was a salesman and purchasing agent for George E. Failing Co. of Enid. He was a member of Central Christian Church and Sooner Sunday school class.
Surviving are his daughter, Nancy O’Banion of Clare-more; a son, Mike O’Banion of Enid; one sister, Ida McNeal of Enid; three brothers, Floyd and Bruce O’Banion, both of Enid, and Robert O’Banion of Moriah, N.Y.; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce, and one sister.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Central Christian Church.
The funeral for Jack Lynn Rheude, 56, of Enid, will be held at a later date. Arrange-ments are by Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
He was born July 6, 1949, in Milan, Tenn., to Julius John and Lillian Louise Brasfield Rheude and died Tuesday, June 6, 2006.
His family moved to Deland, Fla., when he was 7. He graduated from Deland High School in 1968, and then was drafted into the Army. He was in the 82nd Airborne stationed in Vietnam from 1968 to 1969, and then for a short time at Fort Benning, Ga., as drill sergeant. He moved to Enid in the 1970s and then to Tulsa where he attended Tulsa Junior College to get his surveyor’s certificate and take the civil engineering exam. He worked for MW Kellogg for about a year. He opened his own business, Surveying Services Inc., and Engineering Consultants Inc. He returned to Enid following a car accident.
He married Robin Plato in Enid in 1987. He worked for Mark Roberts Honda and WAKO.
Surviving are his wife, Robin, of the home; one son, Kyle Rheude and one daughter, Kasey Rheude, all of the home; one sister, Rita Froemming of Enid; and one brother, Jim Rheude of Indianapolis, Ind.
He was preceded in death by one sister.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home.
The funeral for the Rev. Dale McClaflin, 75, of Bethany, will be 10 a.m. Friday at Bethany First Church of the Nazarene. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Arrangements are by Mercer-Adams Funeral Home, Bethany.
He was born Feb. 2, 1931, in Renfrow to Elmer E. and Lizzie Dorcas McClaflin and died Tuesday, June 6, 2006.
He grew up in Med-ford, graduating from Medford High School in1948.
He married Geraldine Marie Bessire Aug. 15, 1949, in Hillsboro, Texas. They had been married 57 years.
He received his bachelor’s degree in history from Bethany Paniel College in 1952, and went to Kansas City, Mo., where he received his master of divinity degree from Nazarene Theolo-gical Seminary in 1956. On Sept. 7, 1956, he was ordained an elder in the Church of the Nazarene and pastored his first church in Butler, Mo. He pastored churches in Independence, Mo.; Ala-mogordo and Albuquerque, N.M.; Lincoln, Neb.; Pensacola, Fla.; McComb, Miss.; Houston and Lufkin, Texas; and Bis-marck, N.D. He pastored for more than 40 years. He was a member of Bethany First Church of the Nazarene, Classic Club, SNU Academy of Senior Pro-fessionals, and Association of Retired Ministers and Mission-aries.
For the past 11 years he had been a volunteer chaplain for Bethany First Church of the Nazarene.
Surviving are his wife, Geraldine; two daughters, Elizabeth Sweeney of Lake Havasu City, Ariz., and Marilyn Diane Lane of Slidell, La.; one son, Rev. Elmer D. McClaflin Jr. of Independence, Mo.; sisters, LaWanda Allison of Oklahoma City, Bertha Downing of Medford, and Alice Allen of Oklahoma City; an adopted son, George McClaflin of Albuquerque; and 12 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother and a granddaughter.
A memorial service for Jimmie Glee Thurmond, 72, of Gage, will be 10 a.m. Friday at her ranch located 12 miles north- west of Gage. The Rev. Nancy Woods will officiate. Arrange-ments are by Mason Funeral Home, Shattuck.
She was the daughter of Jim and Helen Irvin Luthi and died Monday, June 5, 2006, at her home.
She attended Gage Public Schools and Oklahoma State University in Stillwater.
She married Wyndell Thur-mond June 27, 1954. He died in September 1961. She was a self-employed rancher and a member of United Methodist Church of Gage.
Surviving are one son, Richard Thurmond; one daughter, Tracey Cole; one brother, Dick Luthi; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A graveside service for Ray Heath, 61, of Perry, will be 10 a.m. Friday at Grace Hill Me-morial Pavilion in Grace Hill Cemetery, Perry. The Rev. Ed Cook will officiate. Arrange-ments are by Brown-Dugger Funeral Home, Perry.
He was born May 27, 1945, in Choctaw to Orville and Evelyn Jackson Heath and died Tuesday, June 6, 2006, at Perry Memorial Hospital.
He was a Vietnam War veteran and honorably discharged from the Air Force. He worked as a truck driver and was a member of Disabled American Veterans and American Legion.
Surviving are his mother, Evelyn Lamson of Oklahoma City; five sons, Steve Heath, Greg Heath and Joe Heath, all of Perry, and Todd and Kevin Heath, both of Edmond; his former wife, Sharon Heath of Perry; three brothers, Wayland Lamson of Blanchard and Guy and Frank Lamson, both of Oklahoma City; three sisters, Mildred Leyba of Guthrie, and Mary Raines and Alberta Tebrink, both of Oklahoma City; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home, 1010 N. 7th Street, Perry, OK 73077 to American Cancer Society, American Lung Association or Disabled American Veterans.
The funeral for Judy Ann Lee, 52, of Enid, will be 11 a.m. Friday at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. James C. Abner will officiate. Burial will be in Mem-orial Park Cemetery.
She was born Feb. 20, 1954, in Ashtabula, Ohio, to Pearl and Louella Bowers Smith and died Tuesday, June 6, 2006, in Enid.
She married John Paul Lee June 19, 1979, in Enid. She was a housekeeper by trade.
Surviving are her mother, Louella Smith of Enid; her father, Pearl Smith of Benhill, Ky.; brothers, Carl Smith of Enid, and John Bowers of Irving, Texas; and sisters, Robin Beck and Vickie Smith, both of Enid.
A graveside service for Wade Edmond Wilson, 40, of Bakers-field, Calif., will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Shattuck Memorial Cemetery. The Rev. Lisa Beavers will officiate. Arrangements are by Mason Funeral Home, Shattuck.
He was born Oct. 28, 1965, in Shattuck to Ken and Shirley Wilson and died Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2005, in Bakersfield.
He graduated from Shattuck High School in 1983 and graduated with a bachelor of sciences degree in biology from Cal State University in Bakersfield in 2001.
He worked for Enterprise Drilling and was a member of St. Phillip The Apostle Church.
Surviving are his mother, Shirley Wilson of Bakersfield, and two daughters, Casey and Kelsey Wilson of Jacksonville, Fla.
He was preceded in death by his father and one brother.
A private burial for Letha Cadek, 80, of Caldwell, Kan., will be at a later date. Arrangements are by Day Funeral Home and Crematory, Caldwell.
She was born Feb. 19, 1926, and died Wednesday, June 7, 2006.
She was a bookkeeper by trade.
Surviving are her husband, Fred Cadek of Caldwell; one son, Glenn “Butch” Cadek of Caldwell; and one brother, Glenn Teal of Winfield, Kan.
Memorials may be made to Sumner County District 1 Hospital or Hospice Care of Kansas.
The funeral for Judith Ann Martindale Davidson, 69-year-old Enid resident will be 2 p.m. Thursday, June 8, 2006, at Henninger-Allen Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Terry Martindale will officiate. Burial will follow in Ames Cemetery, Ames, OK. Arrangements are under the direction of Henninger-Allen Funeral Home.
Judith was born Oct. 18, 1936, in Enid to Gene and Laverne (Miller) Martindale and died Monday, June 5, 2006, at home.
She graduated from Ames High School in 1954. She worked at George E. Failing, Central National Bank, 1st National Bank, and Enid State School. She was a member of Eastern Star. She started playing softball as a child and retired in her 60s after playing for six decades. She was inducted into the Oklahoma ASA Hall of Fame in 1999. She was an avid fan of her grandchildren’s sporting events. She was a loving wife, mother, grandma, great-grandma, and devoted sports fan.
She is survived by her husband, David R. Davidson of the home; son, Rory Davidson and wife Carolyn of McAlester, OK; daughter, Kim Stotts and her husband Rodney of Alva, OK; brothers, Chester Martindale and wife Joan of Paris, TX, and Jess Martindale and wife Judy of Farmington, N.M.; grandchildren, Travis and Nick Davidson of Edmond, OK, Heath, Jarrod and Alicia Stotts of Alva, OK; three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Mary Nelle.
Memorials may be made to Special Olympics with Henninger-allen Funeral Home acting as custodian of the fund.
A graveside service for Adalu D. Wilcoxen, 70, of Enid, will be 9 a.m. Friday, June 9, 2006, at Garden Chapel in Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. Bill Smith will officiate. There will be a time of visitation with the family Thursday evening from 7 to 8 p.m. in the Ladusau-Evans Chapel.
She was born Dec. 1, 1935, in Refugio, TX near Victoria to Glen and Geneva (Thomas) Dobyns and died June 6, 2006.
She graduated from high school in Texas and attended one year of college. She married T.R. “Dink” Wilcoxen Feb. 12, 1954, in Refugio, TX. He preceded her in death on July 21, 2000, in Enid. She was co-owner and office manager for the Wilcoxen Packer and Supply Co. in Enid. She was a member of the Enid Home Extension Club where for a time she was president.
She is survived by two sons, Glen Wilcoxen of Ames, OK and Paul Wilcoxen of Enid; a brother, John T. Dobyns of Fort Worth, TX; three grandchildren, Nicole Wilcoxen of Ames, OK, and Jake and Ryan Wilcoxen of Enid.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, “Dink.”
Memorials may be made to OMRF to the rheumatoid arthritis division with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home as custodian of the funds.
Funeral services for Vernon Henry Stettnisch, 85, of Deer Park, TX, formerly of Enid, will be 2 p.m. Friday, June 9, 2006, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Rev. Kenneth Wade will officiate. Interment to follow at Garden Chapel in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Vernon was born Feb. 12, 1921, in Breckinridge, OK to Henry and Anna Stettnisch and passed away Sunday, June 4, 2006.
Vernon served his country honorably during World War II in the U.S. Army. He worked as a mechanic for many years both in the automotive industry and later in grain transport.
Vernon leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 58 years, Ina Stettnisch of Deer Park, TX; daughter, Ruth Ann Walton and her husband Dean of Enid, OK; son, Terry Stettnisch of Deer Park, TX; and daughter, Janette Knutson and her husband Donald of Deer Park, TX; grandchildren, Toni Meacham and her husband Bobby, Shelly Carpenter and her husband Alan, Nathan Knutson and his wife Christine, Kelli Davis and her husband David; great-grandchildren, Nicole Cates and her husband Brandon, Cole Knutson and Drew Davis; great-great-granddaughter Haylie Cates; along with many other loving family members and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, five sisters and one brother.
