Enid, OK — The funeral for Jewel William “J.W.” Ridge, 85, of Norman, formerly of Enid, will be 10 a.m. Monday, June 9, 2008, at First United Methodist Church, Enid. The Rev. David Wiggs will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. Visitation with the family will be 5-6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
He was born Aug. 11, 1922, in Pleasant Hill to L. J. and Nettie Ella Harris Ridge and died Thursday, June 5, 2008, in Norman.
He graduated from Haworth High School in 1941. He joined the Army and served in North Africa and Italy. After his return, he married Mary Short Sept. 15, 1945, in New Boston, Texas. In 1950, he was mobilized with his unit in the Oklahoma National Guard 45th Division to Japan and Korea. He retired from the Guard after 20 years with the rank of major. He graduated from Southeastern State University with a bachelor’s of science degree in education and from Phillips University with a master’s degree in education. He began his teaching career at Fanshawe High School. After they moved to Enid, he taught at Enid High School, was principal for Waller Junior High School and was superintendent of O. T. Autry Vocational-Technical Center until retiring in 1986.
He was a member of Oklahoma Education Association, National Education Association, Masonic Lodge 80, Enid, and was a 32nd Degree Mason. He served First United Methodist Church of Enid as president of the board of trustees, as a member of the administrative board, and as a Sunday school teacher. He was also president of Enid Noon Lions Club.
Surviving are his wife, Mary; three daughters, Lynn Peacher of Tulsa, Patricia Bradley of Arcadia and Cindy Baudendistel of Norman; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.

The funeral for Vernon Henry Stettnisch, 85, of Deer Park, Texas, formerly of Enid, will be 2 p.m. Friday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. The Rev. Kenneth Wade will officiate. Burial will be in Garden Chapel at Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
He was born Feb. 12, 1921, in Breckinridge to Henry and Anna Stettnisch and died Sunday, June 4, 2006.
He served with the Army during World War II. He worked as a mechanic in both the automotive industry and grain transportation.
Surviving are his wife Ina Stettnisch of Deer Park; two daughters, Ruth Ann Walton of Enid and Janette Knutson of Deer Park; a son, Terry Stettnisch of Deer Park; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by five sisters and one brother.
A graveside service for Adalu D. Wilcoxen, 70, of Enid, will be 9 a.m. Friday at Garden Chapel in Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. Bill Smith will officiate. Arrange-ments are by Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. Family visitation will be 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home chapel.
She was born Dec. 1, 1935, in Refugio, Texas, to Glen and Geneva Thomas Dobyns and died Tuesday, June 6, 2006.
She graduated from high school in Texas and attended one year of college. She married T.R. “Dink” Wilcoxen Feb. 12, 1954, in Refugio. He died July 21, 2000, in Enid.
She was co-owner and office manager for Wilcoxen Packer and Supply Co. in Enid and a member of Enid Home Extension Club, for which she served as president.
Surviving are two sons, Glen Wilcoxen of Ames and Paul Wilcoxen of Enid; a brother, John T. Dobyns of Fort Worth, Texas; and three grandchildren.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, rheumatoid arthritis division.
The funeral for Amiel Daniel Two Babies Sr., 45, of Canton, will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the Christian Church in Canton. The Rev. Ramos Hicks and Jo Ann Williams will officiate. Burial will be in Mennonite Cemetery, Canton. Arrange-ments are by Russworm Funeral Home, Watonga.
He was born Nov. 30, 1960, in Clinton to Donald Two Babies and Teresa Williams and died Saturday, June 3, 2006, in Oklahoma City.
He later was raised in Canton by his grandmother, Hilda Throwfirst. He attended Canton school and obtained his GED at University of Southern Colo-rado. He attended Oklahoma State University-Okmulgee where he studied automotive technology. He later attended Haskell Indians Nation University in Lawrence, Kan., where he studied business administration.
Surviving are seven sons, Darwin M. Lime, Kerry B. Two Babies and Amiel D. Two Babies Jr., all of Oklahoma City, Spc. Mark E. Two Babies of Fort Eustas, Va., Pvt. Kevin C. Two Babies of Fort Hood, Texas, Kelvin L. Lime of Watonga and Charles Hail of El Reno; three daughters, Faye, Judy and Allison; three brothers, Ames, Jerry and Thomas Two Babies, all of Oklahoma City; and his companion, Carla Davis.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two grandchildren.
The funeral for Mearl Duaine Heer, 86, of Longdale, will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the Longdale school gymnasium. The Revs. Ray Schoonmaker and Mark Dirks will officiate. Burial will be in Longdale Cemetery. Arrangements are by Redinger Funeral Home, Seiling.
He was born June 28, 1919, in Longdale to John Harvey and Mary Smith Heer and died Sunday, June 4, 2006, at Fairview Hospital.
He was raised and educated in Longdale. He worked on the family farm until age 17, when he went to Colorado. He returned to Longdale and played in several bands. He also worked in construction on the Canton Dam and later for Douglas Aircraft.
He married Villa Lee Smith June 6, 1942, in Fairview. They made their first home in Longdale. In 1954, they moved to Salida, Colo., where he worked as a painting contractor. They returned to Longdale in 1980. He retired as a paint contractor in the mid-1980s. He continued to play at dances in western Oklahoma and parts of Kansas and Texas. He was a member of Longdale Commu-nity Church, serving as chairman of the board of trustees.
Surviving are his wife, Villa of Longdale; one daughter, Sharon Heer of Longdale; a sister, Aimee Dirks of Greensburg, Kan.; three brothers, George Heer of Fairview, Calvin Heer of Longdale and Carl “Tom” Heer of Isabella; and one grandson.
He was preceded in death by three brothers.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Longdale Community Church, Longdale gymnasium or Longdale Country Op’ra.
A graveside service for Juanita Adams Birdwell, 87, will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Pond Creek Cemetery. The Rev. Ronnie Hopkins will officiate. Arrangements are by Henninger-Allen Funeral Home.
She was born April 27, 1919, in Pond Creek to John Henry and Margaret Ann Harville Adams and died Monday, June 5, 2006, in Webster, Texas.
She graduated from Enid High School, attended Lamar College in Beaumont, Texas, and worked in Shreveport, La., for several years.
She married Arthur Birdwell in 1964 in Beaumont. He died in 1974.
She was a member of Eastern Star at Seabrook, Texas, and a member of First Baptist Church in Beaumont.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Arthur, she was preceded in death by one sister and three brothers.
The funeral for Judith Ann Martindale Davidson, 69, of Enid, will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Henninger-Allen Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Terry Mar-tindale will officiate. Burial will be in Ames Cemetery, Ames.
She was born Oct. 18, 1936, in Enid to Gene and Laverne Miller Martindale and died Monday, June 5, 2006.
She graduated from Ames High School in 1954. She worked at George E. Failing, Central National Bank, First National Bank and Enid State School. She was a member of Eastern Star. She started playing softball as a child and retired in her 60s. She was inducted into the Oklahoma ASA Hall of Fame in 1999.
Surviving are her husband, David R. Davidson, of the home; one son, Rory Davidson of McAlester; a daughter, Kim Stotts of Alva; brothers, Chester Martindale of Paris, Texas, and Jess Martindale of Farmington, N.M.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one sister.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Special Olympics.
The funeral for Andrea Dawn Coleman, 27, of Enid, will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Brown-Cummings Funeral Home Chapel. Tom Donaldson will officiate. Burial will be in Bison Cemetery. Arrange-ments are by Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.
She was born Jan. 6, 1979, in Houston to Tom and Dorothy Zelnicek Coleman and died Monday, June 5, 2006, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center.
She was raised and educated in Enid. She worked at Midway Convenience Store in Kremlin, several grocery stores in Enid and Dollar General.
Surviving are her mother and stepfather, Dorothy and Walt Cornwell of Enid; one sister, Lori Coleman of Enid; maternal grandparents, Thelma and Joe Zelnicek of Enid; two stepbrothers, Adam Cornwell of Iowa and Travis Cornwell of Minnesota; two stepsisters, Jenny Cornwell and Lori Kramer, both of Iowa; and her companion, Rick Cambron of the home.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, kidney research.
Services for James L. “Jim” Wieden were held June 6, 2006, at Saint Cecilia Catholic Church in Claremore under the direction of Rice Funeral Service. Jim passed away Friday, June 2, 2006. He was 56.
Born July 8, 1949, in Odell, NE to Harry and Arlene Gerleve Wieden, Jim was reared and educated in several different communities before his family moved to Enid. He finished his senior year there and graduated from Enid High with the Class of 1967. Following his schooling, James enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He proudly served for four years and then two years in the Naval Reserve. While Jim was in the Navy he furthered his education by taking several college courses. He returned to Enid after his honorable discharge and went to work for Safeway Grocery. He continued his employment there for 18 years until the store closed.
On Nov. 18, 1972, Jim and Sue Standlee were united in marriage. The couple made their home in Enid until moving to Claremore in 1991. Jim worked for President Baking and Sara Lee for a time and most recently was an independent contractor with Federal Express.
When he found time away from work, you probably could find him on the golf course. Jim loved the game of golf and played every chance he could. He also enjoyed reading a good book. But his family was the most important part of his life. He took a real interest in their lives, always wanting the best for them. Jim was a big car fan, he loved the German makes, even though his son liked American cars. He respected his decision, but it did make for great conversations.
This wonderful husband, father, son, brother and friend will be missed by all who knew him, but none as much as his beloved family. Those that survive are his wife Sue of their home in Claremore; his children, Kathryne Wieden of Edmond, Jody Wieden of Kansas City, MO and Mark Wieden of Fayetteville, AR; his mother Arlene Wieden of Enid; his brothers, Royce Wieden and wife Cindy of Fairview, Craig Wieden and wife Stephany of Enid and Corey Wieden and wife Cheryl of Fairmont, OK; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Jim was preceded in death by his father, Harry Wieden.

George L. England passed away June 3, 2006. He was born Sept. 27, 1920, in Macksville, KS, the second son of Stephen J. and Cora Geil England. He was raised in Enid, OK, graduating from Enid High School in 1938, and from Phillips University in 1942, and was still a member of the Gridiron Club. George was an Army veteran of World War II and retired from Tinker in 1980. He was a 45-year member of the OK Region SCCA, a member of the Oklahoma Writers Club, the OK Windriders Hot Air Balloon Club and the First Christian Church, where he was Elder Emeritus for several years.
George is preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 37 years, Margaret Rundell England, and a brother, Stephen J. England.
Surviving include his wife of 25 years, Carol A. England; son, Stephen J. England and wife Elsie; daughter, Sandra Saucier and her husband John R; stepsons, Jason and Scott Guthrie; five grandchildren, Randy Saucier, Stephanie Floyd and husband Scott, Matthew England, Elizabeth Seila and husband Anthony and Mary Davis and husband Roger; and two great-grandchildren, Jackson and Anna Floyd.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, June 8, 2006, at First Christian Church of Midwest City with interment following at Arlington Memory Gardens.
The family requests in lieu of flowers memorials be made to the First Christian Church Building or Music Fund. Arrangements are under the direction of Paylor Funeral Home, Midwest City, OK
Allen Pritchard, former long-time resident of Enid, OK, passed away June 1, 2006, in Mesa, AZ, at the age of 83. He had been in failing health the last few years.
Allen came to Enid at an early age and graduated from Enid High School in 1943. He then served in the US Navy during World War II. He retired as Regional Manager of the Bond Baking Company after 30 years.
While living in Enid, Allen was active in many community organizations and was a member of Central Christian Church, Barbershoppers, Lodge 501, Scottish Rite, and Akdar Shrine.
Allen leaves behind his wife of over 60 years, RoseAnn; daughter, Patricia Ann Pritchard; grandchildren, Todd Jones (Dallas, TX), Carra Hencheid (Flagstaff, AZ), and Amy Lepert (Spearfish, SD); and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service with placement at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona will take place at a later date.
