The funeral for J. E. Smith, 76, of Caldwell, Kan., will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Assembly of God, Caldwell. Arrangements are by Day Funeral Home, Caldwell. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today and Tuesday at the funeral home.
He was born Feb. 23, 1930, and died Saturday, April 8, 2006.
He worked as the area manger for Greeley Gas.
Surviving are his wife, Carlene of the home; one daughter, Elva Strand of Herington, Kan.; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Memorials may be made to Hospice Care of Kansas, Assembly of God or Caldwell Firefighters Association.
The funeral for Zelma Juanita Glasgow Snyder, 91, of Alva will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Dacoma Church of God, Dacoma. The Rev. Bob Brown will officiate. Burial will be in Union Center Cemetery. Arrangements are by Wentworth Mortuary, Carmen. Visitation with the family will be 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesday.
She was born Oct. 16, 1914, near Dacoma to Orville Loren and Matie Belle Harter Glasgow and died Sunday, April 9, 2006, at Share Convalescent Home, Alva.
She graduated from Dacoma High School in 1932 and from Northwestern Oklahoma State University, Alva, in 1936, with a degree in education. She lived most of her life in Dacoma and Waynoka. She married Chester Kirk Snyder May, 1938, at Dacoma. He preceded her in death.
She retired from teaching at Dacoma and Carmen Schools. She was a member of Dacoma Church of God.
Surviving are two sons, Terry of Yale and Johnny of Edmond; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Chester, she was preceded in death by two brothers, two sisters and three great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Chester K. and Zelma J. Snyder Teacher/Education Scholarship Fund at Northwestern Oklahoma State University, Alva, or Children of Promise Scholarship Fund for Latin American Children, Church of God, P. O. Box 2316, Anderson, IN 46018.
A memorial service for Bradley Donald Hendershot, 35, of Enid will be 6 p.m. Tuesday at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Tom Legrand will officiate. Cremation arrangements are by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home.
He was born Aug. 20, 1970, at Wadena, Minn., to Donald Eugene and Ethelyn Kay Robinson Hendershot and died Thrusday, April 6, 2006, at his home.
He graduated in Alexandria, Minn. He moved to Enid in January 1995. He married Edie Cook Oct. 8, 2005, at Ringwood. They made their home in Enid. He was employed in construction as a carpenter.
Surviving are his wife, Edie of the home; his mother Ethelyn Hendershot Cordell of Enid; six children, Myia Hendershot, Brice Grizzle, Brenden Cook, Jesse Hendershot and Mathew Swanson, all of Enid, and Tanner Grizzle of Salina, Kan.; one brother, Craig Hendershot of Glenwood, Minn.; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Wendell and Patsy Cook of Enid; grandparents, Violet Robinson of Chisholm, Helen Vick of Covington and Dorothy Cook of Enid.
He was preceded in death by his father, one sister and three grandparents.
Memorials may be made to the funeral home to help with expenses.
The funeral for Patricia Ann “Pat” Kimery, 66, will be 2 p.m. today at Town and Coun-try Christ-ian Church, Alva. The Rev. Paul Cole will officiate. Burial will be in Alva Municipal Cemetery. Arrangements are by Wharton Funeral Chapel, Alva.
She was born May 10, 1939, on a farm near Dacoma to Charles W. and Rose G. Kassik Rolfe and died Sunday, April 2, 2006, at Integris Southwest Medical Center, Oklahoma City.
She graduated from Da-coma High School in 1957 and attended Northwestern Okla-homa State University, receiving her bachelor of science degree in 1982, her master’s degree in behavioral science in 1983 and her bachelor of science degree in nursing in 1985.
She married Richard Wagner Jan. 24, 1959, in Dacoma. They lived in Capron where she worked for Woods County Health Department, then at Kiowa District Hospital.
She married George Kimery Nov. 15, 1983, in Canadian, Texas. They lived in Alva and later Woodward. In April 1986, they moved to Choctaw and in 1990 they moved to Midwest City. He died April 28, 2005. She worked for the past 18 years for the V.A. Medical Center as a certified registered nurse.
Surviving are one daughter, Sherri Matthesen of Choctaw; three sons, Mike of Austin, Texas, Tom of Capron and David of Midwest City; her mother, Rose Parker, and a brother, Robin Rolfe, both of Alva; and six grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers.
Memorials may be made to Town and Country Christian Church or Disabled Veterans Association.
The funeral for Hazel Earnie Coleman, 83, formerly of Woodward, will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Church of the Nazarene, Woodward. The Rev. Steve Cecil will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery. Ar-rangements are by Johnson’s Good Samaritan Funeral Service, Woodward. Visita-tion will be noon to 6 p.m today and 8 a.m. to 8 p.m Friday.
She was born March 4, 1923, on a farm near Balko to Earl and Bessie Ballard Pierce and died Monday, April 3, 2006, in Edmond.
She married Vernice Leroy Coleman April 14, 1946, in Liberal, Kan. They made their home in Beaver. During the summer of 1963, they moved to Woodward, where she worked for Northwest Carpet and Tile. She was a member of Woodward Church of the Nazarene.
Surviving are her husband, Vernice; one son, Lynford Coleman of Lynn Haven, Fla.; a daughter, Karen Crooks of Oklahoma City; three brothers, Escal Pierce of Guymon, Evan Pierce of Fairview and Marvin Pierce of Bartles-ville; two sisters, Betha Anz of Beaver and Dorene Phelps of Arvada, Colo.; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.
A memorial service for Jack Dodd, 75, of Bullhead City, Ariz., was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 25, at Bullhead City Elks Lodge.
He was born Aug. 19, 1930, in Aline and died Thursday, March 23, 2006, at his home.
He attended Enid schools, graduating from Enid High School in 1948. He served in the 325th Hospital Unit during the Korean War. He was a resident of Claremont, Calif., where he worked for Farmers Insurance Group for more than 30 years. He was active in Pop Warner Football and Little League. After retirement, he moved to Bullhead City, where he was active in Benevolent Protective Order of Elks Lodge 2408 and was a life-time member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and a member of American Legion.
Surviving are his wife, Lois; a daughter, Denise Carmichael; and one sister, Jean Hartman.
The funeral for Beulah Love Donley, 86, will be 1 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church, Woodward. The Rev. Brett Allen and Russ Donley will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery. Arrange-ments are by Billings Funeral Home, Woodward. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
She was born Oct. 25, 1919, on a farm southwest of Woodward to Homer and Lessa Calloway Love and died Wednesday, April 5, 2006, at Woodward Regional Hospital.
She graduated from Fargo High School in 1938.
She married Raymond Leroy “Doc” Donley Sept. 16, 1939, in Cestos. They made their home in Fargo, later moving to Kansas and began working for Wolf Creek Oil Drilling Co. They returned to Fargo in 1946 to start Donley’s Produce. She began her nursing career at Newman Memorial Hospital in Shattuck. She completed her training as a licensed practical nurse from Newman Memorial Hospital in 1954. She also worked at Wood-ward Me-morial Hospital and for Dr. C.E. Wil-liams. They moved the family business to Woodward in 1955 and to a farm southwest of Woodward in 1961. She was an active member of First Baptist Church, Woodward, and a volunteer at Woodward Hospital and Health Center Auxiliary, Woodward Red Cross and was a charter member of the volunteer program at Woodward Nursing Center. She also was active at Woodward Senior Center and a long-time member of Sunshine Sister’s Club of Fargo.
Surviving are two sisters, Neva Kennedy of Tonkawa and Jean Eagon-Harper of Wood-ward; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, “Doc” in 1983, one brother and a sister.
The funeral for Mary Elizabeth Haskins, 97, formerly of Billings, will be 1 p.m Saturday at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Ben Killion will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Vernon Cemetery near Salt Fork.
She was born Dec. 8, 1908, in Nogales, Mexico, and died Monday, April 3, 2006, in Owasso.
She was raised by her father until his death and from age 10 was raised by an aunt and uncle.
She married Lester Haskins Sept. 20, 1933. They made their home on a farm near Billings. She was a member of Billings Methodist Church. In 1996, she moved to Owasso.
Surviving are one daughter, Linda Reiss of Owasso; two grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Local Hospice of Owasso, 8426 N. 123rd E. Ave., Owasso, OK 74055.
A wake for Richard D. Warner, 68, of Enid, will be 1 to 4 p.m Saturday at the family home, 2701 W. Pine. Cremation arrangements are by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home and Crematory.
He was born Aug. 27, 1937, in Ponca City to David Glenn and Edith Marie Craghead Warner and died Tuesday, April 4, 2006, at his home.
He graduated from high school in Great Bend, Kan., and served in the Air Force in England.
He married Karen F. Weinmeister Oct. 3, 1976, in Enid. He came to Enid as manager of Warehouse 12 and retired from Rogers Supply Co.
Surviving are his wife, Karen, of the home; one daughter, Rae Dawn Warner Bailey of Oklahoma City; a son, Ryan David Warner of Bethany; one brother, Ken Warner of Edmond; a sister, Glenda Bragg of Enid; and one grandson.
Memorials may be made to Ross Health Care Hospice of Enid, Dexeus Oncology Clinic or American Cancer Society.
The funeral for Inez Cleola Sanders, 88, will be 2 p.m. Friday at Community Bible Church, Goltry. The Revs. Dale Cummins and Thurman Sparks will officiate. Burial will be in Karoma Cemetery, southeast of Goltry. Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home Inc., Helena. Visitation is today 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., with the family present 5 to 7 p.m.
She was born Jan. 4, 1918, south of Goltry to Owen and Lois Talbott Mahaffey and died Tuesday, April 4, 2006, at Methodist Care Center, Enid.
She graduated from Goltry High School.
She married Roy B. Sanders March 7, 1936, in Enid. He died Oct. 28, 1998.
Surviving are four children, Ruby Young and Frank Sanders, both of Enid, and Vernon Sanders and Faye Reuss, both of Goltry; three brothers, Lowell Mahaffey of Cassville, Mo., Willis Mahaffey of Alamogordo, N.M., and Rex Mahaffey of Thermal, Calif.; 16 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Roy, she was preceded in death by two sons and two brothers.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to American Heart Association.
The funeral for Shirley Jean Laubach, 67, will be 2 p.m. Friday at First Christian Church, Okeene. The Rev. Leslie Michaelson will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home Inc., Okeene. Viewing will be today 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the casket open prior to the funeral at the church.
She was born June 28, 1938, in Rock Springs, Wyo., to Harley and Dorothy Manos Love and died Tuesday, April 4, 2006, at her home.
She married Robert Lee Laubach Sept. 3, 1960. He died Feb. 29, 1992.
She was a teacher with the Watonga school system. Her education continued extensively past her master’s degree. She lived in Okeene for 30 years before moving to Okarche. She was a member of First Christian Church, Okeene; Delta Kappa Gamma; Blaine County Mineral Association and Oklahoma Education Association. She also was a member of Cimarron Valley Conservation District Board and a delegate for the Democratic Party.
Surviving are her children, Robert Charles Laubach of Guymon and Tracy LeAnn Westfahl of Okeene, and five grandchildren.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Okeene Public Schools, high school library, or elementary school library.
