CALVIN HOUSTON
A graveside service for Calvin Houston, 83, will be 11 a.m. Friday in Iowa Chapel Cemetery, Perkins. Pastor Merle Kinser will officiate. Arrange-ments are by Baker Funeral Home, Valley Center, Kan.
He was born in Merrick to Lewis and Lea Churchill Houston and died Sunday, Jan. 13, 2008, at Kansas Soldiers’ Home, Fort Dodge, Kan.
He was a retired oil field worker and formerly of Valley Center. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army.
Surviving are one son, Wayne Houston of Valley Center; one stepson, Larry Fowble of Ringwood; four sisters, Nellie Neitman of Stillwater, Ada Ruth Shaffer of Perkins, Mildred Price of Tecumseh and Veleta Rummier of Yukon; two brothers, Glen Houston of Stillwater and Lonnie Houston of Perkins; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

RUTH ELIZABETH HELLER
The funeral for Ruth Elizabeth Heller, 88, of Enid, will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Enid Cemetery Chapel. Pastor Terry Walborn will officiate. Burial will be in Enid Cemetery. Arrangements are by Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.
She was born June 5, 1919, in Norwich, Kan., to Ernest and Sarah Liddeke Mayer and died Monday, Jan. 14, 2008, at Enid Senior Care.
She was raised in the Norwich-Cheney, Kan., area.
She married Carroll Heller March 21, 1939, in Kansas. They lived in Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas, New Mexico, Colorado and Missouri. They moved to Enid in 1988. He died March 21, 1991.
She attended Abundant Life Church and Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Dora Walborn of Enid and Margie Rhodes of Oklahoma City; two brothers, Willard Mayer of Seattle and Ralph Mayer of Anthony, Kan.; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Carroll, she was preceded in death by six sisters and three brothers.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Enid Senior Care Center.

MARILYN J. HUBBARD
The funeral for Marilyn Jeanne Jeffries Hubbard, 71, will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Sanders Funeral Chapel, Kingfisher. Burial will be in Kingfisher Cemetery.
She was born July 10, 1936, in Loyal to George and Garnet Krause Jeffries and died Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2008, at OU Medical Center, Presbyterian Tower, Oklahoma City.
She grew up on a farm in the Loyal area, graduating from Loyal High School. She lived most of her life on that farm. She received a bachelor of science degree and was working toward her master’s degree. She moved to Kingfisher in 1980.
Surviving are two daughters, Carla Sue Cochran of Fort Worth, Texas, and Sherry Kay Hubbard of Oklahoma City.

RUTH M. HENLEY
The funeral for Ruth M. Henley, 100, will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home. The Revs. Ron Olson and David Martinez Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:30 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
She was born May 14, 1907, in Wichita, Kan., to Charles A. and Icie Gratner Nichols and died Monday, Jan. 14, 2008, in Enid.
She graduated from Enid High School in 1926 and later attended Miltonville Wesleyan Bible School in Kansas. She worked for the Navy for more than 27 years as a LVN nurse at Camp Pendleton Naval Hospital in Oceanside, Calif. In 1941, she briefly returned to Enid, where she was ordained as a minister.
She married Jose Sanchez March 1944. He died in 1954.
She was a missionary with Wesleyan Church to a Mexican mission first in Carlsbad, Calif., then in Oceanside, Calif., and Vista, Calif. She also was a missionary to Mexico, where she interpreted Spanish for carpenters building the churches. She also taught in Texas at a school for handicapped students and itinerant workers for two years.
She married John Harold Henley Dec. 18, 1984, in Mercedes, Texas. They moved back to California and worked with missions in Encenada, Baja and Mexico. She also worked in a daycare in Vista, Calif. She returned to Enid in 1996.
Surviving are one daughter, Rachel Lyons of Milton, Del.; one sister, Olive Hobbs of Enid; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Hospice Circle of Love.

INA ETTA BOLAND
The funeral for Ina Etta Boland, 95, of Buffalo, will be 2 p.m. today at Myatt Funeral Home Chapel, Buffalo. The Rev. Charles Newton will officiate. Burial will be in High Point Cemetery, Buffalo. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to service time today at the funeral home.
She was born May 22, 1912, on the Weaver family homestead near Selman to Otto K. and Birtsel Garritson Weaver and died Sunday, Jan. 13, 2008, at Harper County Community Hospital, Buffalo.
She graduated from Selman High School in 1930 and attended Salt City Business College in Hutchinson, Kan. She worked for Woolworth and Franks Department Store and was a member of Rising Star Baptist Church, Waynoka.
She married Harold Steen in 1937, and W.B. Cook March 2, 1955, in Raton, N.M. He died in 1977. She married Jake Boland Jan. 15, 1981, in Phoenix. He died in 1989.
Surviving are two nephews and several great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by an infant sister.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Gideons International.

NORMA RAE LEE
Norma Rae Lee was born to J.B. and Berdie Celestina Lee on Jan. 10, 1942, in Portales, N.M., and passed away on Saturday, Jan. 12, 2008, in Enid, at the age of 66.
She grew up in Por-tales and graduated from Por-tales High School. She graduated from Eastern New Mexico University, earning a degree in library science. She then worked at the state library in Santa Fe, N.M. Throughout Norma’s life, she was faced with many challenges. Not only did she fight them bravely, she conquered them all.
Norma is survived by her sister, N. Fae (Lee) Wilson and husband Dr. R. Joe Wilson of Enid; brother, J.B. Lee Jr. and wife Bobbie of Ransom Canyon, TX; niece, Celesta Champagne and husband Jude and their son Caden of Carthage, MO; nephew, Nathan Wilson and wife Anndria and their daughter Landree of McKinney, TX.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Lois Lorene Lee.
The family had a private memorial service for Norma. Cremation arrangements were by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home.

JACK PATRICK ARNOLD
Jack Patrick Arnold, 63, of Stillwater, passed away Sunday, Jan. 13, 2008, in Tulsa. He was born Oct. 18, 1944, in Oklahoma City to Larry Dean and Jessie Audrey (McMahon) Arnold.
Jack attended Okmulgee High School. He served in the Navy during the Cuban Missile Crisis and spent time in the Mediterranean Sea.
In 1968, he married Sandi Hopkins in Tulsa. He worked at various jobs, including pipelining, working for the railroad, working in a machine shop, and working in pool halls.
Jack played pool all of his life and was known to his friends as “Okmulgee Jack.” He also enjoyed traveling, spending time with his many friends and family, reading, and dining at his favorite restaurants.
Jack is survived by is wife, Sandi; his two sons, Jack Patrick Arnold II and his wife Jan, and William Tyler Arnold; a stepdaughter, Deborah Faye Miller; his mother, Jessie of Enid, OK; two sisters, Donna Morris and her husband Jim of Stillwater, OK and Jean Garrison and her husband Ty of Carrollton, TX; nieces, Renee Reichman and Jennifer Mueller; and nephews, Rion Reichman and Regan Reichman.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 17, 2008, at Ninde Brookside Chapel in Tulsa, OK. A graveside service will be 2 p.m. in Okmulgee Cemetery, Okmulgee, OK.

LUELLA MAE (DAVIS) BAKER
The funeral service for Luella Mae (Davis) Baker will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 17, 2008, at Central Christian Church. Rev. John McLemore will officiate. Burial will be in Enid Cemetery. There will be a time of visitation with the family from 5:30 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Arrange-ments are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Luella was born to Albert H. and Ida Mae Guernsey Davis on July 3, 1923, in Pond Creek, OK and died Sunday, Jan. 13, 2008,, at 5:20 p.m. at her home at Trinity Place Assisted Living in Enid.
After graduating from high school in Pond Creek as a valedictorian, she attended and graduated from Enid Business College. Upon graduation, she worked as church secretary at Central Christian Church.
She married Ralph J. Baker April 14, 1946, in Enid, after he returned from World War II. She had been introduced to him by his sister, Mary Ruth (Baker) Cooper. After a career in farming, they retired and moved back to Enid.
She was proud to have been a charter member of the Sooner Sunday School Class at Central Christian Church, where she served in several officer positions, including president. She was selected as Mother of the Year of the church in 2003. She enjoyed being a member of Bethany Extension Club until health problems prohibited her from attending., What made her most proud were her children and grandchildren.
Besides her husband, Ralph, she was preceded in death by both of her parents and her sister, Dorothy Walters, and stepgranddaughter Lisa Von-Werder.
She is survived by her children, Danny Baker and his wife Suzi, Lindy Baker and his wife Connie, Connie Jo Collins and her husband Rick, all of Enid, and Steve Baker and his wife Kathi of Ponca City; seven grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; five great-grandchildren; nine stepgreat-grandchildren; and two stepgreat-great-grandchildren. She also is survived by her sisters-in-law, Mary Ruth Cooper and Vera Sue Bunch and her husband Frank, both of Enid.
Memorials may be made to Trinity Place Assisted Living Recreation Fund with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home acting as custodian of the funds.

MARTHA JANE EMRICK HOLOMBO
Martha Jane Emrick Holombo, born Oct. 23, 1939, in Enid. passed away Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2008. Arrangements are by Heritage Memorial Services, Huntington Beach, CA.
Janie lived in Foster City, CA.
She is survived by husband, Geri, of 44 years; two sons, Rob and Jay; five grandchildren; and many friends.

JOE MADDOX
The funeral service for Joe Maddox, 83, will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 17, 2008, at Enid First Nazarene Church. Rev. Bruce Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Meno, OK. Arrange-ments are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Joe was born Oct. 1, 1024, in Meno, OK to Archie and Glenn (Purvines) Maddox and died Satur-day, Jan. 12, 2008, at St. Mary’s Re-gional Medi-cal Center.
He was a graduate of Ringwood High School.
On June 2, 1946, he married Martha Humes in Enid, OK.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was past commander, local and district for the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a member of the American Legion and the Odd Fellows Lodge 31. He was an avid bowler and won a state tournament with his son, Jerry, in the mid 70s.
He is survived by his wife, Martha, of the home; daughters, Shirley Clark, Linda Mehlig, Carolyn Pickard and son Joey Maddox and family friend Mel Bloss; seven grandchildren, Ma-randa, Matthew, Kyle, Kristen, Katie, Joseph and Shelby; two great-grandchildren, Karsten and Kaden; and brother, Harley Maddox.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two daughters, Barbara and Brenda; five brothers, Jean, Virgil, Kenneth, Gerald and Eldon; three sisters, Helen Rader, Maxine Maddox and Betty Stern.
Memorials may be made to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, diabetes and heart division, with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home acting as custodian of the funds.
