PAULINE MAE GOULDEN
The funeral for Pauline Mae Goulden, 97, of Newkirk, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Christian Church, Newkirk. The Revs. James Hollifield and Kerney Graham Jr. will officiate. Arrangements are by Miller-Stahl Funeral Service, Newkirk. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m.
She was born Sept. 18, 1910, near Blackwell to Nathaniel “Nate” and Anna Rosetta Suman Shupe and died Saturday, Jan. 5, 2008, at the Newkirk Nursing Center.
She grew up and attended school in the Braman community, graduating from Braman High School in 1928. She continued her education with numerous short courses on nutrition at Oklahoma State University.
She married Leslie H. Goulden Aug. 8, 1935, in Wellington, Kan. They made their first home in Braman, moving to Newkirk in 1938. Ten years later, they purchased the Cantwell farm southeast of Newkirk. He died April 9, 1982. She moved into Newkirk in 1984. She lived in the Consolidated 106 community, where she worked for the 106 School District as lunchroom manager and cook. She served as 4-H leader for 21 years, served as superintendent of the Consolidated 106 Community Sunday school for more than 20 years, and had been a member of the Oklahoma Cowbells. She also was a member of First United Methodist Church of Newkirk and United Methodist Women.
Surviving are two daughters, Beatrice Paul of Enid and Arlene Sellers of Duncan; one brother, Ralph Shupe of Arkansas City; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Leslie, she was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.
Memorials may be made through Eastman National Bank, Box 468, Newkirk, OK 74647-0468 to First United Methodist Church of Newkirk to help with rebuilding.

MARGARET FADENRECHT
The funeral for Margaret Fadenrecht, 86, of Clinton, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Kiesau Memorial Chapel, Clinton. Ric Freeman will officiate. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Arrangements are by Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home, Clinton.
She was born April 14, 1921, in Delft, Minn., to Bernard and Anna P. Quiring Willems and died Sunday, Jan. 6, 2008, at Methodist Health Care Center, Clinton.
She moved with her family at an early age to Salem, Ore., where she attended school.
She worked in a cannery and married Edward Fadenrecht Sept. 19, 1940, in Salem. They lived in Joes and Kirk, Colo., and she worked in a creamery. They moved to Clinton in 1966. He died in 1993.
She worked at Pop Hicks Restaurant, Trade Winds Restaurant and Cherokee Restaurant for several years. She also worked at Cherokee Trading Post.
She was a member of Life Fellowship Church in Weatherford.
Surviving are four daughters, Viola “Vi” Sawatzky of Arapaho, Carolyn Sawatzky of Bessie, Linda Hoffman of Clinton and Lavina Koehn of Enid; two sisters, Hulda Doerksen of Salem, Ore., and Bertha Fadenrecht of Joes, Colo.; 14 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter and one great-grandson.

CLARENCE E. PICKETT
The funeral for Clarence E. “Butch” Pickett, 62, of Geary, will be 2 p.m. Thursday at 2008 Bualah Land COGIC, Geary. Burial will be in Geary Cemetery. The Rev. Ray Anthony Pickett will officiate. Arrangements are by Russworm Funeral Home.
He was born Aug. 29, 1945, in Geary to Hugh and Margie Pickett and died Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2008, in Wichita, Kan.
He graduated from Geary High School and attended Church of God in Christ Church. He enlisted in the Air Force following graduation. He was a skilled laborer, working in the construction industry.
Surviving are three sons, Clarence E. Pickett Jr., Darryl Pickett of Valdosta, Ga., and Broderick Pickett of Geary; five brothers, Hugh and Raymond Pickett, both of Oklahoma City, Roscoe Pickett, Ronald Pickett and Billie J. Pickett; four sisters, Kathryn Qualls of Antioch, Calif., Barbara Spence of Austin, Texas, LaVera Alexander and Vivian Johnson of Wichita, Kan.; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

DAVID L. LOUDEN
The funeral for David Louis Louden, 53, of Woodward, will be 4 p.m. Wednesday at Billings Funeral Home Chapel, Woodward. The Rev. Brett Allen will officiate. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
He was born April 16, 1954, in Shelbyville, Ky., to James and Edith Kemp Louden and died Sunday, Jan. 6, 2008, at his home in Woodward.
He graduated from Henry County High School in 1973.
He married Leatha Gay Webster Nov. 22, 1979. They made their home in Woodward, where he worked as a commercial carpenter.
Surviving are his wife, Leatha, of the home; one son, Daven Louis Louden of Woodward; one daughter, Aleatha Tomas Louden-Bishop of Mooreland; four brothers, James Louden, Robert Hayes of Bedford, Ky., Tom Louden of Sulpher, Ky., and Michael Grider of Louisville, Ky.; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

ADIKA RYE WILDA
The funeral for Adika Rye Wilda, infant, will be 2 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church, Perry. Aaron Summers will officiate. Burial will be in Grace Hill Cemetery, Perry. Arrangements are by Brown-Dugger Funeral Home, Perry.
She was born July 29, 2007, in Chickasha to Trisha Denise Wilda and Daniel Ray Williams of Stillwater and died Monday, Jan. 7, 2008, at Stillwater Medical Center.
Surviving are her parents, Trisha and Daniel, of Stillwater; grandparents, Kevin and Tammie Wilda of Chickasha, and Ronald Williams and Marie Lay of Perry; great-grandparents, H.C. and Frankie Langford and Ernestine Williams, both of Perry; and great-great-grandmother, Clara Hunt of Perry.
She was preceded in death by one brother.

DORA ELIZABETH BENEDUM
June 19, 1940 – Jan. 3, 2008
Dora Benedum, 67, of China Spring, Texas, passed away from the results of an automobile accident Jan. 3, 2008, in Oklahoma.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2008, at OakCrest Funeral Home, Waco, TX, officiated by Pastor Rick Cobb of the Journey Christian Community Church in China Spring. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. today at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd., Waco, TX.
Dora was born June 19, 1940, in Derma, Miss.
She married Al Benedum Feb. 5, 1975.
Dora was a very loving and caring person who enjoyed reading, working crossword puzzles and volunteering her time at church caring for babies in the nursery. She will be greatly missed and forever loved by her family and friends.
Dora is survived by her loving husband of 32 years; son, Chip Weiser and wife Heather of China Spring; daughters, Vickie Schroeder and husband Randy of Enid, Oklahoma, Annette Williams and husband Danny of Waukomis, Oklahoma, Christie Riley and husband Scott of Alva, Oklahoma, and Denise Jackson and husband Sherman of Simpson, Louisiana; sisters, Annie Neal of Senatobia, Mississippi, Mertie Gilkerson and husband Harry of Cabot, Arkansas, Mary Umphrey and husband Art of Haines City, Florida, and Ouida Selman of Jonesboro, Arkansas; brothers, Bill Hamby and wife Molly of Albany, Georgia, Harold Hamby and wife Joanne of Lauder Valley, Mississippi, Jay Hamby and wife Carol of Southerland, Oregon, and Steve Hamby and wife Monica of Alexandria, Virginia. Dora was the proud grandmother of 12 grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made in memory of Dora Benedum to Fuzzy Friends Rescue, 6321 Airport Rd., Waco, TX 76708 or call (254) 754-9444.

JESSICA ANN RAPER
Jessica Ann Raper, formerly Jessica Thomas, native of Enid, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, Jan. 3, 2008, in Albuquerque, N.M.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, retired USAF Lt. Col. John Raper, whom she met in Enid while he was stationed at Vance Air Force Base. Other survivors are daughter, Jennifer Raper; son, Justin Raper and his wife Erika Munz; two grandchildren, Kurt and Skyler Munz-Raper; and nephew Brian Pratt.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Mary K. Pratt, and niece Heidi Pratt.
No services are planned. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the New Mexico Roadrunner Food Bank, 2645 Baylor Drive SE, Albuquerque, N.M. 87106 or the New Mexico Animal Humane Association, 615 Virginia St. SE, Albuquerque, N.M. 87108.

JAMES LEON MELVIN
A private memorial service for James Leon Melvin, 49, of Enid will be 7 p.m. Tuesday. Cremation arrangements are by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home and Crematory. There will be no visitation or register book at the funeral home.
He was born Oct. 2, 1958, in Tulsa to Lewis John and Mary Ann Beauzo Melvin and died Saturday, Jan. 5, 2008, in Enid.
He grew up in Tulsa and moved with his famiy to Bartlesville, where he graduated from high school. He attended vo-tech in Bartlesville and studied upholstry. He married Jaclynn Cash Nov. 24, 1992, in Enid, where they made their home. He attended House of Prayer Church and later Zoe Bible Church.
Surviving are his wife, Jaclynn of the home; one step-daughter, Vicki Lee Dutton; his father, Lewis John Melvin of Missouri.; five brothers, Bernard W. Melvin, David S. Melvin, William “Bill” John Melvin, and Robert “Bob” Don Melvin, all of Missouri, and John D. Melvin of Perry; and two sisters, Anna Manes of Missouri and Delpha Horton-Helms, of Enid.
He was preceded in death by his mother and step-father, one sister and four brothers.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home in his name.

WILLIAM J. ‘JOE’ HOPKINS JR
The funeral service for William J. “Joe” Hopkins, Jr., 50, of Hunter will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Marvin Goodpasture will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
He was born June 3, 1957, in Great Bend, Kan., to William J. Sr. and Phyllis Rankin Hopkins and died Saturday, Jan. 5, 2008, in Integris Bass Baptist Hospital.
He attended school in Great Bend then joined the Army. He married Tina Purcell Nov. 30, 1984, in Great Bend. They moved to Hunter in 2001. He constructed golf courses, with the last being The Branson Creek Golf Course, Branson, Mo. He later worked at Oakwood Golf Course until retiring. He attended Nazarene Church.
Surviving are his wife, Tina of the home; four daughters, Tessa Barnes, Amber Walter, Billie Jo Hopkins and Coriane Hopkins, all of Enid; his parents, William J. and Phyllis Hopkins Sr. of Walnut Grove, Mo.; one brother, Richie Hopkins of Enid; two sisters, Ulanda Hall of Walnut Grove, Mo., and Juanita Amador of Great Bend; and one grandson.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home for funeral expenses.

VERNON O. CASE
The funeral for Vernon O. Case, 95, of Seiling will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Elm Grove Community Church. Pastor Orville White will officiate. Burial will be in Orion Cemetery. Arrangements are by Redinger Funeral Home, Seiling.
He was born April 24, 1912, in Phroso in Major County to Oscar and Cora McMaster Case and died Saturday, Jan. 5, 2008, at Seiling Nursing Center.
He attended Phroso school through eighth grade then attended Fairview High School, graduating in 1933. He entered the Army July 28, 1942, and served in central Europe during World War II. He was honorably discharged Dec. 7, 1945. He returned to Major County where he worked as a rancher. He married Clara Hurt Feb. 14, 1946, at Fairview. She died Nov. 10, 2001. They made their home in the Phroso area. He made birdhouses and was featured on Discover Oklahoma.
Surviving are one son, Rodger Case of Fairview; one daughter, Delores Case of Fairview; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Clara; and one brother.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Chester Historical Society.

BERTHA BERNICE HOWELL
The funeral for Bertha Bernice Howell, 93, of Thomas will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at First Christian Church, Hennessey. The Rev. Richard Pitt will officiate. A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in Fairlawn Cemetery, Stillwater. Arrangements are by Cordry-Gritz Funeral Home, Hennessey.
She was born Sept. 3, 1914, in Arkansas City, Kan., to Fred Brant and Luvica Myrtle Hudson Hughes and died Saturday, Jan. 5, 2008, at Thomas Care Center, Thomas.
She attended schools in Pawhuska and Bartlesville and graduated from Stillwater High School. She attended OAMC, which is now Oklahoma State University. She married Ray Edward Howell Dec. 24, 1938. During World War II, she worked at Boeing Aircraft and later worked several years in county agents and home demonstration offices. She owned and operated the first flower shop in Hennessey in the 1950s. They moved to South Haven, Kan., in 1957, returning to Hennessey in 1975. She was a member of First Christian Church, Thomas and was formerly a member of First Christian Church, Hennessey.
Surviving are two daughters, Janith Byers of Oklahoma City, and Vivian Lee Ritter of Evergreen, Colo.; one son, Robert Ray Howell of Arapaho; three sisters, Vivian Hamlin of Tempe, Ariz., Betty Grissom of Hico, Texas, and Ellen Joyce Berry of Biloxi, Miss.; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray; three sisters; and four brothers.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the Thomas Care Center Memorial Fund.

DIANA R. ‘ANN’ MALGET
The funeral for Diana R. “Ann” Malget, 59, of Perry will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Christian Church. The Rev. Martin Foster will officiate. Burial will be in Grace Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are by Brown-Dugger Funeral Home. Visitation with the family will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
She was born April 23, 1948, in Great Bend, Kan., to Ray Maurice and Lois Eileen Evans Shaffer and died Saturday, Jan. 5, 2008, at Perry Memorial Hospital.
She graduated from Perry High School in 1967. She was a member of First Christian Church.
Surviving are two sons, Rev. John David Malget Jr. of Houston and Ray Michael Malget of Perry; one daughter, Sandra Kay Malget Stanley of Perry; one brother, David L. Shaffer of Tulsa; and six grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home, 1010 N. 7th Street, Perry, OK 73077 to the Lupus Foundaton.
