CHUCK IVES
The funeral for Chuck Ives with military honors by American Legion Post No. 635 of Darrouzett, Texas, was held Friday, Dec. 7, 2007, at First Baptist Church, Follett, Texas. Burial was in Fair-mont Cem-etery, Follett. Arrange-ments were by John-son’s Good Samaritan Funeral Service of Booker, Texas.
He was born Dec. 14, 1925, in Hennessey to Joseph Beston and Laura Anna Pinkard Ives and died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2007, in Booker.
He married Frances Funato Oct. 9, 1967, and they settled in Wichita, Kan. He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 635 of Darrouzett.
Surviving are his wife, Frances; three daughters, Karen Staples of Enid, Marcia Phillips of Austin, Texas, and Marian Garrett of Temple, Texas; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.

IRENE M. BODEN
The funeral for Irene M. Boden, 82, of Weatherford, will be 1:30 p.m. Monday at Oakwood school auditorium. Clyde Irving will officiate. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. Arrangements are by Redinger Funeral Home, Seiling.
She was born Feb. 9, 1925, in Canton to Orville E. “Bill” and Florence Hazel Roberts Chain and died Friday, Dec. 14, 2007, in Corn Heritage Village, Weatherford.
She graduated from Oakwood High School in 1943. She married Edwin Boden Nov. 7, 1942, in Eagle City. They made their home in Oakwood. She was a member of Oakwood Christian Church, Over 40 Club and Home Demonstration Club. She served as secretary and treasurer for Oakwood Cemetery for many years.
Surviving are her daughter, Betty Boden, and her son, Jim Boden, both of Oakwood; one sister, Audrey Mae Abshire of Canton; one brother, O. E. Chain Jr. of Deerfield, Kan.; one grandson; and three great-gandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Edwin on May 18, 1985, and one brother.

ORPHA FAYE JOHNSON
A graveside service for Orpha Faye Johnson, 82, formerly of Enid, will be 2 p.m. Monday in Concord Cemetery, Meno. The Rev. Jim Jones will officiate. Arrangements are by Henninger-Allen Funeral Home.
She was born Aug. 7, 1925, in Enid to Judge Arthur A. and Orpha Stull and died Thursday, Dec. 6, 2007, in Plano, Texas.
Surviving are three children, Suzanna Davenport of Irving, Texas, Pamela Roberts of Turlock, Calif., and David Johnson of Plano; two sisters, Lahoma Parker of Oxnard, Calif., and Berth Horn of Camarillo, Calif.; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

TRENTON LEE SHAFFER
The funeral for Trenton Lee Shaffer, 15, will be 2 p.m. today at Henninger-Allen Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Vernon Lee will officiate. Burial will be in Garber Cemetery.
He was born July 1, 1992, in Enid to Shawnda Shaffer and died Thurs-day, Dec. 13, 2007, in St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center.
He attended the Interlocal School in Enid.
Surviving are his mother and father, Shawnda and Robert Venable Jr., one sister, Haley Venable, and two brothers, Tyler and Zachery Venable, all of the home; maternal great-grandmother, Ruby Bridges, of the home; paternal grandparents, Karen and Robert Venable of Enid; paternal grandmother, Marilyn Murphy of Ponca City; and maternal grandfather, Weldon Redding of Enid.

VELOIS HOFFMAN
The funeral for Velois Evelyn Hoffman, 74, of Garber, will be 1 p.m. today at Garber First Baptist Church. The Rev. Tom Le-Grand will officiate. Burial will be in Gar-ber Cem-etery. Arrange-ments are by Ander-son-Burris Funeral Home.
She was born Dec. 6, 1933, in Covington to Fred Albert and Laura Edith Prather Wolf and died Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2007, in Enid.
She grew up in Covington and graduated from Covington High School.
She married John Leroy Hoffman Jr. May 29, 1952, in Covington. They made their home in Garber. She worked at Billings Fairchild Center and Garber Nursing Home. She was a member of First Baptist Church.
Surviving are four sons, David Hoffman of Dumas, Texas, Daniel Hoffman of Yukon and Terry Hoffman and Larry Hoffman, both of Garber; two daughters, Linda Heinrich of Billings and Beverly Payne of Enid; 15 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John, two brothers and one granddaughter.

ZELPHIA VIOLA WATKINS
The funeral for Zelphia Viola Pullan Watkins, 90, will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Aline Methodist Church. The Rev. Ken Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Aline Star Cemetery. Arrange-ments are by Went-worth Mortuary LLC, Carmen. Family visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday.
She was born June 29, 1917, near Avard to Joseph and Mary Lankford Pullan and died Thursday, Dec. 13, 2007, at South Wind Hospice Center, Pratt, Kan.
She attended rural schools in the Alva area through the eighth grade.
She married Odell Watkins Nov. 13, 1938, in Cherokee. He died in 1975.
She was a homemaker and helped students in Aline-Cleo Springs 4-H and FFA. She was a member of Aline United Methodist Church and a charter member of Aline Silverettes Club. She was a seamstress and held many honors for baking and sewing. She was a cook for Aline Public Schools for 35 years and later for the Carmen home. She won the Greatest Mom in Alfalfa County contest in 1997.
Surviving are two sons, Ron Watkins of Yucca Valley, Calif., and Charles Watkins of Enid; one daughter, Deanna Fluck of La Crosse, Kan.; one sister, Anna Dodd of Eugene, Ore.; seven grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Odell, she was preceded in death by five brothers and five sisters.

ROBERT ‘TOM’ LOCKE
A graveside service for Robert “Tom” Locke, 43, will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. Dan O’Daniel will officiate. Arrangements are by Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
He was born Sept. 1, 1964, in Enid to Robert A. and Jeanette Ann Walters Locke and died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2007, in Charlotte, N.C.
He worked as a tree trimmer, worked with leather and did marble cabinetry.
Surviving are his parents, Robert and Jeanette Locke; children, Rex Locke, Brad Taylor, David Taylor, Jonathan Morris, Elizabeth Morris, Emily Locke, Gracie Locke and Dawson Heffron; one brother, Dean Locke of Enid; two sisters, Robin Crist of Guthrie and Ramona Voelzke of Enid; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one sister.

WILLIAM ‘BILL’ DOUGHERTY
A graveside service for William “Bill” Dougherty, 43, of Longdale, will be 3:30 p.m. Saturday in Canton Cemetery. Steve Driskill will officiate. Arrangements are by Haigler-Pierce Funeral Home, Canton.
He was born Nov. 23, 1964, in Independence, Mo., to Roger Edward and Connie June Gorham Dougherty and died Thursday, Dec. 13, 2007, in Okeene.
Surviving are three daughters, Misty Wanzer of Aline and Angela Dougherty and Teresa Dougherty, both of Liberty, Mo.; one son, B.J. Dougherty of Aline; his father, Roger Dougherty of Longdale; one brother, Roger Dougherty of Corsicana, Texas; one sister, Diane Kerss of Garland, Texas; and four grandchildren.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to help with the cost of the services.

ROBERT J. ‘BOB’ BRONSON
The funeral for Robert Joseph “Bob” Bronson, 68, of Woodward, will be 2 p.m. today at First Baptist Church, Woodward. The Rev. Brett Allen will officiate. Burial will be in Elm-wood Cemetery, Wood-ward. Arrange-ments are by Billings Funeral Home, Wood-ward.
He was born July 22, 1939, in Fort Worth, Texas, to C.H. and Mary Holman Bronson and died Saturday, Dec. 8, 2007, at York Hospital, York, Penn.
He grew up in Spur/Thornton, Texas. He graduated from Thornton High School and was drafted into the Army where he served for two years.
Following his discharge he married Peggy July 1, 1964, in Amarillo, Texas. He worked for Hobbs Trailers, Parkhurst Manufacturing and Grabbe Welding and Truck Equipment. In 1983, he moved to Woodward where he started Woodward Truck Equipment. After closing in 1986, he started Bronson Trailers truck trailer business. He retired in January 2007. He served as president of the National Trailers Association.
Surviving are his wife, Peggy Bronson of Woodward; his children, Cindy Batson of York, Tanya Bronson of Peabody, Kan., and Max and Randy Bronson, both of Salinas, Calif.; and six grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Woodward First Baptist Church Youth Group or the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, cancer research.

SHANNA ANN BERRY-BARWICK
The funeral for Shanna Ann Berry-Barwick, 29, of Waukomis, will be 2 p.m. Saturday at First Christian Church, Pond Creek, with Revs. Dave Jones and Ronnie Hopkins officiating with interment following in Pond Creek Cemetery. Arrangements are by Wilson Funeral Home, Pond Creek.
She was born May 11, 1978, to David L. and Brecca Ann Kennedy Berry in Oklahoma City, OK. She died Saturday, Dec. 8, 2007, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center, Enid.
Shanna attended school in Oklahoma City, graduating from John Marshall High School. Shanna received her CNA certificate and used her skills to help others. At the time of her death she was loving being a mother and wife, the two things which brought her the greatest joy in life.
Shanna lived in Oklahoma City until 2002, when she moved to Enid, OK to start a new life. For the past five years and 11 months Shanna has brought joy and happiness to her husband Jeff.
Shanna is survived by her husband, Jeff Barwick, of the home. Children, Emily Berry of the home and Christopher Barwick of Ames, OK. Parents, Kenneth Joe Barwick, Enid Mae and Gene Etchison of Ames, David and Lila Berry, Oklahoma City. Her grandmother, Lova Perry of Weatherford and special grandma Alberta Houston, one brother, David Berry and wife Anna of Moore, OK, brother-in-law, Joe Barwick and wife Mary Ringwood, sister-in-law, Helen Hoos and husband Jim of Enid. Nieces and nephews and many other friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Brecca Berry.
Memorials may be made to Waukomis Kids Cafe and Waukomis Volunteer Fire Department.
The register book may be signed at Waukomis Christian Church and Wilson Funeral Home, Pond Creek.

BARBARA CARLSON
Our mom, Barbara “Bobbie” Carlson of Titusville, FL, passed away Sunday, Dec. 9, 2007, after a short battle with a pre-leukemia condition. Mom was 71 years young. Mom was born in Aline, OK and married Dad, Norman Norm or Pots Carl-son in 1956. She and Dad were companions for 51 years and blessed us three kids with wonderful memories growing up. Mom loved her children more than anything. Her children are Chris (son), and Carol Carlson of Denver, CO, Jodi (daughter) and Mike Juretich of Salt Lake City, UT and Bobbie Lu (daughter) and Todd Turner of Titusville, FL. Mom loved and adored her three grandchildren, Grace Carlson, Brandon Gorrell and C.J. Turner. Her brother, Gary Ewing and sisters, Coleen Nelson, Connie Schlarb and Judy Bouse, will miss Mom dearly. She is joining her sister, Kay Doane and her parents, Bud and Agnes Ewing and Sugar and Bear Bear her favorite dogs, in heaven. Mom will be forever remembered as our world’s greatest grandmother, mother, wife and friend. Don’t worry about Dad, we will take care of him!
