Skylar Sadler services held
Chapel services for Skylar Jermaine Sadler, infant son of Nicole Barker of Clinton, were held Monday afternoon in the chapel of the Stanley-Lee Funeral Home in Clinton.
Rev. Jealdean Carr officiated, and burial was in the Clinton Cemetery.
Skylar was stillborn on Saturday, Oct. 12, 2002.
Survivors include his parents, Nicole Barker of Clinton, Jerry Wayne Sadler of Oklahoma City; paternal grandparents, Mildred Jackson and Jerry Sadler, Sr. of Oklahoma City; maternal grandparents, Dwayne and Irene Ramsey of Clinton; great grandparents, Elmer and Verdell Barker of Clinton; and seven aunts, Sherry Sadler and Demitra Hennessey of Oklahoma City, Dwayne Barker and Jonte Barker of Clinton, Dominique Kirkendoll of Albuquerque, N.M., D.J. Kirkendoll and April Kirkendoll of San Antonio, Texas.
Don Blakley funeral held
Funeral services for Don L. Blakley, age 72 of Clinton, were held this afternoon in the Stafford Baptist Church with Rev. Buck Nicholson officiating.
Blakley married Ms. Eva Goertzen-Ollenburger on March 9, 1973 in Clinton where they continued to make their home.
He worked for Davis Mud and Chemical and the City of Clinton before retiring in 1987.
A member of the Stafford Baptist Church, in his spare time he loved to garden, fish and hunt for Indian arrowheads.
Preceding him in death were four brothers, Noble, Grober, Edward, Glen; three sisters, Francis Broyles, Edith Barber, Hazel Fouts; and a grandson, Billie Perez.
Burial concluded in the Krimmer Bethel Mennonite Cemetery south of Weatherford under the direction of the Stanley-Lee Funeral Home in Clinton.
Survivors include his wife, Eva, of the home; a daughter, Brenda McClelland and her husband, Gayle, of Pineland, Texas; two sons, David Glen Blakley and Richard Blakley, both of Arvin, Calif.; two stepdaughters, Debbie Wade of Topeka, Kans., Darla Gearhart of Lafette, Texas; a stepson, Gary Ollenburger of Oklahoma City; and eight grandchildren.

Mrs. Lowry's rites Monday
Funeral services for Agnes Fay Lowry, 74, of rural Canute, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Martin Funeral Home chapel in Elk City.
Mrs. Lowry, a retired licensed practical nurse, married Wayne Lowry on Sept. 28, 1946, at Wheeler, Texas. They made their home in the Hammon area, farming north of town as well as elsewhere in the area.
In 1975 Mrs. Lowry became a licensed practical nurse, completing her training at Oklahoma General Hospital in Clinton. She worked for 18 years at Elk City Community Hospital.
The Lowrys moved to their present home northeast of Canute in 1986.
Mrs. Lowry was a member of the Hammon Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Wayne, of the home near Canute; four sons, Charles Wayne Lowry, Sayre, Donnie Dell Lowry, Canute, Roger Lynn Lowry, Henderson, Texas, and Timmy Earnest Lowry, Durwood Alaska; one brother, Tilmon Mullins, Arapaho; three sisters, Leona Byford, Yukon, LaVelle Allen, Amarillo, Texas, and Louise Tucker, Texas; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, three sisters and one grandchild.
Rev. Juanice Parkhurst and Rev. Bobby Stewart will officiate at the funeral, with burial following in the Red Hill Cemetery at Hammon.

Washington rites Friday
Graveside services for Steven Woodrow Washington, age 45 of Clinton, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Clinton Cemetery with Rev. David Trickey officiating.
Washington died late Sunday, Oct. 6, 2002, at Children’s Memorial Hospital in Ok-lahoma City reportedly of pneumonia. She was born on May 24, 1998 at Elk City, the daughter of Betty Joe (Wendt) Starling.
She lived most of her life in the Foss area, attending Dill City Head Start in the mornings and Will Rogers pre-kindergarten at Burns Flat in the afternoons.
Anna enjoyed playing with Blues’ Clues and loved music and dancing. She always wanted her schoolteachers to come home with her and spend the night.
Preceding her in death was a brother, Dakota Starling.
Burial will be under the direction of the StanleyLee Funeral Home in Clinton.
Survivors include her mother, Betty Joe Starling, a sister, Charmaine Starling, and a brother, Wayne Starling, Jr., all of the Foss home; her maternal grandmother, Phyllis Wendt of Burns Flat; aunts, Phyllis “Trudy” Wendt of Custer City, Rosa Flood of Doniphan, Mo., Delta Muller of Knob Noster, Mo.; and a great aunt, Alma Kness of Arapaho.
Visitation will be at the funeral home in downtown Clinton until 5 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to noon on Wednesday. After that, the casket will be closed.

Dick Frans rites slated
Funeral services for Dick Kirby Frans, age 78 of Thomas, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the First Christian Church in Thomas.
Frans succumbed to his long battle with skin cancer and Alzheimer’s disease on Thursday, Oct. 3, 2002. He was born on Sept. 2, 1924 in Thomas, the son of W.D. and Alice Frans.
He lived most of his life in Thomas where he graduated from high school in 1942.
Frans then attended Oklahoma A&M University for a short time before going to serve his country in the Army Air Corps in World War II, including oversease duty with the 67th Fighter Squadron in the Philippines.
Following his discharge he returned to Thomas and died Thursday, Oct. 3, 2002. She was born on April 3, 1930 on a farm in Western Oklahoma, the daughter of John and Anna Hicks.
A family night was scheduled to be observed from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. this evening in the Dannel Funeral Home in Sherman, Texas (telephone 903-893-1171).
On March 26, 1950 she married Lloyd Frank Bush who preceded her in death on June 12, 2001.
Mrs. Bush had several hobbies, including crocheting, baking, decorating cakes, ceramics, sewing, flowers and playing dominoes. She was a member of the North Park Baptist Church.
Survivors include sons Johnny McDonald and his wife, Gail, of Watauga, Texas, James Dale McDonald of Sherman, Texas; daughters, Phyllis Shaver and her husband, Tommy, of Sherman, Texas, Susan Morris and her husband, Dennis, of Savannah, Ga.; six grandchildren, Melissa McDonald, Christina Shaver, Tony Shaver, Matthew Morris, Jonathan McDonald, Merideth Morris; a sister, Carolyn Fields of Clinton; nieces and nephews; two stepsons, Larry Bush and his wife, Wanda, of Rowlett, Texas, Mark Bush and his wife, Stacy, of Las Vegas, Nev.; six step grandchildren; one great step grandson.
The family suggests that those who desire may make memorial contributions in Mrs. Bush’s honor to the North Park Baptist Church Tape Ministry or Building Fund or to the Grayson Bible Baptist Church Building Fund.

Rosie Moore rites Friday
Funeral services for Mrs. Rosie F. Moore, age 81, long-time Clinton resident, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in the Arapaho Assembly of God Church with Rev. Lee Gleason officiating.
Mrs. Moore married to Charles Clinton Moore on May 10, 1936 in Erick. They spent all of their died Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2002, at the Grace Living Center in Clinton following a brief illness. He was born on Oct. 26, 1920 in Beckham County, the son of Roy and Margaret I. Pugh Roper.
Growing up in Western Oklahoma he attended school at New Liberty in Beckham County.
He served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Talluah during World War II.
Roper brought Borden’s Milk to Western Oklahoma in 1951 and was the distributor in this area for many years.
He lived in Clinton until 1999 when he moved to Wichita. Roper was a member of the First Baptist Church of Clinton. He also was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the American Legion.
Burial will follow in the Clinton Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Viola Horn Roper of Wichita, Kan.; sons, George Roper and his wife, Sarah, of Cordell, Jerry Roper and his wife, Betty, of Townsend, Tenn., Stuart Roper of Clinton; stepsons, Wesley Weast and his wife, Kay, of Weatherford, John Horn and his wife, Judi, of Stillwater, Jay Horn and his wife, Debbie, of Wichita, Kan.; eight grandchildren; five step grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; two sisters, Bea Calvert and her husband, of Wanette, Floyd, Ilene Crane and her husband, Charles, of Shawnee; two half sisters, Violet Watson, Mary Ruth Wiegert; and a half brother, Colbert Holcomb.
Preceding him in death, along with his parents, were two sisters and a brother.
Visitation will continue at the funeral home. The casket will be closed at the service.

Standingwater services slated
Funeral services for Robert Joe “Bob” Standingwater, age 68 of Foss, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Hammon High School Auditorium with Rev. Bob Koehn and Rev. Moses Mast officiating.
A traditional wake service will be held from 7 to 10 p.m. this evening at the Bethel Indian Mennonite Church in Hammon.
Standingwater married Marcia Mierau in Henderson, Neb.
The couple made their home in Cody, Wyo. where he began a career in social work. He transferred to the Bureau of Indian Affairs and worked in both North and South Dakota. While with the BIA he worked in Graybull, Thermopolis and Worland, Wyo.
In 1965 the Standingwaters moved back to Oklahoma, and Bob began working with what has become the Oklahoma Department of Human Services, retiring in 1994.
He was a member of the Bethel Mennonite Church, served on the South Western Oklahoma Development Authority Cheyenne-Arapaho Health Board and was chairman of the Cheyenne-Arapaho Housing Authority when they built the first Indian homes in Hammon.
He was very active working with the Cheyenne people and was very fluent in his native tongue.
Standingwater was an outdoorsman who enjoyed nature, fishing and cooking out. His favorite pastime was going to garage sales.
Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, was a brother, Freddy Standingwater, Jr.
Burial will be in the Indian Mennonite Cemetery at Hammon under the direction of the Stanley-Lee Funeral Home in Clinton.
Survivors include his wife, Marcia, of the home; two daughters, Judy Perkins and her husband, Ronnie, of Tuttle, Colleen Finley and her husband, Keith, of Butler; three sons, Robert and his wife, Jenae, of Sachse, Texas, Randy of Topeka, Kan., Russell and his wife, Robin, of Mena, Ark.; three grandchildren, Brittania Mills and her husband, Brason, of Weatherford, Jacqueline Perkins of Tuttle, Robert Ryan of Sachse, Texas; a great granddaughter, Alexis Mills; two sisters, Joyce Heap-of-Birds and her husband, Alfrich, of Thomas, Emma Lou Brewer and her husband, Lynn, of Elk City; and two aunts, Emma Hart and Clara Old Crow.

Ford infant's services held
Graveside services for Audrey Kay Ford, infant daughter of Matt and Kasandra “Sandy” Ford, were held Sunday afternoon in the Mound Valley Cemetery in Thomas with minister Doyle Kinney officiating.
Audrey was born prematurely on Thursday, Sept. 26, 2002, at the Lakeside Women’s Hospital in Oklahoma City.
Preceding her in death was a grandfather, Doug Ford; and an uncle, Mark Ford.
Burial was under the direction of the Stanley-Lee Funeral Home of Clinton.
Survivors include her parents, Matt and Sandy, and a brother, Hunter Ford, all of Clinton; and her grandparents, Nita Kay Clark of Oklahoma City and Dr. Vic and Donita Fey of Clinton.

Pollock services planned at Taloga
Final rites for Walter Doyle Pollock, 62, of Enid, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Assembly of God in Taloga.
Burial will follow in the Mound Cemetery at Taloga under direction of Shaw Funeral Home.
Pollock died Thursday afternoon, Sept. 26, 2002, at Integris Clinton Regional Hospital. A full obituary is planned for release Sunday.

'Hoss' Lidia funeral held
It was learned today that funeral services for Dwightt “Hoss” Lidia, 66 year old resident of Wichita, Kan. and the brother of former local educator Danney Lidia, were held last Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2002, at the Smith Mortuary in Derby, Kan.
Burial was held this past Monday afternoon at the Custer City Masonic Cemetery.
Lidia married Margaret Furgeson at Custer City on Oct. 23, 1953. He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Dwightt Lidia.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Lidia of Wichita, Kan.; a son, Steven Dwightt Lidia of Wichita, Kan.; three daughters, Denise Gaddie and Deanne Waddell and her husband, Hugh, all of Derby, Kan., and Kerran Kaye Redington and her husband, Wayne, of Mulvane, Kan.; a brother, Danney Lidia and his wife, Janice, of Oklahoma City; his mother, Waunetta Mae Lidia of Custer City; and seven grandchildren, Kenny Waddell, Karissa Waddell, Cole Waddell, Kristen Gaddie, Karla Gaddie, Devan Redington, Tyler Redington.

Rites slated for Williams
Graveside services for Mrs. Mildred Kay (Cook)Wlliams, age 46 of Clinton, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Stilwell Cemetery at Stilwell.
Mrs. Williams died early Saturday, Sept. 21, 2002, at Integris Clinton Regional Hospital. He was born on Aug. 12, 1946 at Panama, Okla., the son of David Andrew and Betty Kathryn (Burdick) Goodson, Sr.
“Monk” was reared in Tulsa, graduating from Will Rogers High School in 1964. He attended Northeastern Oklahoma State University in Tahlequah before entering the U.S. Navy and serving on the USS Cochrane.
After being honorably discharged as a disabled veteran he returned to the Tulsa area.
He worked with his father in the auto body repair business in the Tulsa area for several years, and had been a resident of the Clinton Veterans Center for the past year.
Goodson was preceded in death by his parents. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and loved to water ski, horses and play steel guitar.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Evans Miller Funeral Home in Poteau. By request, his body was cremated with local arrangements by the Stanley-Lee Funeral Home.
Survivors include a son, David Andrew Goodson III and a grandson, Bryce Verones, of Atlanta, Ga.; a sister, Reta Goodson and her husband, Duane Archuleta, of Tulsa; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives.

'Rusty' Miller rites Tuesday
Funeral services for James Russell “Rusty” Miller, age 44 of Thomas, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church in Thomas with Rev. Monte Moran officiating.
Miller died late Tuesday evening in Oklahoma City. He was born July 17, 1934, in Corvallis, Ore., the son of Robert Keim Leinau and Virginia Ella Schneider.
He served in the U.S. Navy and was an electronic technician for the Federal Aviation Administration for more than 30 years in Sacramento, Calif., and Prescott, Ariz. Leinau also had served as an instructor at the FAA Academy in Oklahoma City and as manager for the Clinton-Sherman field office in Burns Flat.
After retirement he participated in many stage productions at Southwest Playhouse in Clinton, Red Carpet Theatre in Elk City and Watonga Community Theatre.
He volunteered at the OSU Extension Service office at Cordell in the Master Gardening Program, was a volunteer mediator for Early Settlement, and was a volunteer at the Clinton offices of Legal Aid for Western Oklahoma.
Leinau became an amateur radio operator at the age of 14 and enjoyed the friendship of many “hams” across the country for more than 50 years.
Interment was to be at a private service at the Stafford Cemetery west of Clinton.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Ann of the home; a daughter, Lisa Ann Leinau, M.D. of Lebanon, N.H.; a son, Robert Arthur Leinau, J.D.; and daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Irene of Oklahoma City; sister, Colombe Leinau of Grants Pass, Ore.; a brother, Harold Arthur (Skip) Leinau of Boulder, Colo.; a half brother, Peter Leinau of Hemet, Calf.; his step-mother, Edith McKinney of Balboa Island, Calif. and a grandson, Carver Scott Leinau.
