Mary Francis Haney
Services for Mary Francis Haney, 61, Mill Creek were held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2001 at Pentecostal Holiness Church, Mill Creek with Rev. Jerry George officiating. died Jan. 22, 2001 in Oklahoma City. Mrs. Haney loved spending time with her family, cooking and sewing. She was employed at Hill Crest Nursing Home. Mrs. Haney is survived by three sons, Tommy Lowell Haney, Reagan, Robert Dean Haney, Mill Creek and Bobby Edward Haney, Tishomingo; two daughters, Wilma Haney, and Thelma Lou Elrod, both of Mill Creek; four brothers, Wayland Samis, Cache, John Samis, Mill Creek, George Samis, Sulphur and Harold Samis, Mill Creek; one sister, Azelle Vaughn, Mill Creek; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Myrtle Samis; one sister, Dorothy Martinez; two brothers, Henry Samis and Harry Samis; one grandson, Mathew Bates. Pallbearers were Donald Brewster, David Garcia, Mashone Lowe, Grady Goodpaster, Kendall Jertel and Willie Elrod.

Bertha Fay Sise
Services for Bertha Fay Sise, 82, were held Sunday, July 29, at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Davis with Rev. James Densman, Rev. Finis Steelman and Dr. David Eggenberg, officiating. died July 26, in Davis. On December 26, 1933, she Interment was at the Oaklawn Cemetery under the direction of Cowley-Krien Funeral Home. Mrs. Kesler was born December 22, 1911 in McMinnville, Tenn., to Thomas Wesley Bratcher and Donia Gribbles. She married Lloyd David Kesler in Tishomingo. Mrs. Kesler moved to Oklahoma at a very young age. After she and Lloyd were died July 24 in Sulphur. On April, 4 1964 he Interment was at the Drake Cemetery under the direction of Cowley-Krien Funeral Home. Mr. Carter was born on October 18, 1918 in Gore to Elpha Carter and Minnie Lafayette Carter. He married Opal Mae Thomison in Little Rock, Ark. Mr. Carter was a member of the Nebo and Mill Creek Church of Christ. He was in the Army Air Corps. during WWII. He was a farmer and enjoyed his children and grandchildren. Mr. Carter is survived by his wife, Opal Mae Carter, of the home, one daughter, Glenda Kay Bowen, Sulphur; four sons, David Clyde Carter, Sulphur, Dwight Richard Carter and his wife, Jan, Davis, Michael Lafayette Carter and his wife, LaDonna, William Barry Carter and his wife, Linda, Sulphur; 12 grandchildren, six great grandchildren; one brother Ralph Carter, Gore; two sisters, Colleen Anderson, Gore, Ellen Gibson, Winsio, Ark.; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Mr. Carter was preceeded in death by one son, Timothy Wayne Carter, a sister, Eula Wilson, two brothers, Ben and Willard Carter and his parents. Pallbearers were, David Carter, Dwight Carter, Mike Carter, Barry Carter, Clayton Bowen, Justin Beaty. Honorary bearers were Preston Norton and Ronnie Harper.

Amanda Irene West
Services for Amanda Irene West, 72, were held Wednesday, August 1, at 10:00 a.m. at Central Baptist Church, with Rev. Willard McCartney, Jr. officiating. died Saturday, July 28, in Dougherty. On October 18, 1947, she Interment was at the Seward Cemetery, Guthrie under the direction of Davis Funeral Home. Mr. Ham was born January 13, 1926 in Guthrie to Roy and Flora (Wyatt) Ham and married Marjorie Bowen. She preceded him in death on May 23, 1998. Mr. Ham lived in this area all of his life. He retired from Tinker Air Force Base. He was a member of the First Christian Church and was a veteran of the United States Army, serving with the 45th Infantary Division in the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the American Legion LaBron Post #56, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Guthrie Masonic Lodge, and was volunteer for the National Park Service where he served as camp host at the campgrounds in Sulphur. Mr. Ham is survived by one son, Carl William Ham, II and his wife, Carol, Guthrie; three daughters, Jeanette Lynn, Noble, Joyce McLendon, Del City, and Delcy Burford and her husband, Michael, Guthrie; three brothers, Herbert Ham and his wife, Vera, Guthrie, John Ham and his wife, Nonie, Edmond, and Charles Ham Seward; nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Mr. Ham was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Randy Ham and two nephews.

Naomi Lee Wineland
Services for Naomi Lee Wineland were held Friday, Sept. 21. Mrs. Wineland was born January 23, 1914 to James Elmer Cleveland and Edna Angie Runyan Cleveland. She married Ollin Benjamine Wineland in Hugo. Mrs. Wineland graduated from Sulphur High School in 1932 as valedictorian. She attended Oklahoma Baptist University. She worked as a secretary and purchasing agent for many years for W.L. Scott Construction Company of Sulphur. Mrs. Wineland lived in Colorado from 1947 until retiring and returning to Oklahoma in 1978. She attended Brookhaven Baptist Church in Norman. Mrs. Wineland is survived by her two daughters, Rae Newstad and her husband, Theodore, and Olline Davenport and her husband, Tommy Davenport; three grandchildren and their spouses, Charlie Ray and Grace Steel, Angie and Greg Bott, Allason and Danny Achtemeier; five great grandchildren, Meaghann and Aubrie Steel, Piper Bott, Ashlee and Rielee Achtemeier; one sister, Oleta Cleveland Brooks; three brothers, J.E. Cleveland and his wife, Letha, Eldon Cleveland and his wife, Bernice and Raymond Cleveland and his wife, Ginger; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Wineland was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Merton Cleveland and one sister, Odessa Lannom and her husband.

Betty LaWanda Weddle
Graveside services for Betty LaWanda Weddle, 74, of Ada were held Friday, Sept. 28, at 1:30 p.m. at the Oaklawn Cemetery, under the direction of John M. Ireland Funeral Home and Chapel. Rev. Mike Wade officiated. Mrs. Weddle was a very loving person with her first love being her family. She is survived by her children, Linda Tarango and Larry Fikes, both of Norman, Ann Marie Watson and her husband, Richard, Valisa, Calif; Bill Weddle and his wife, Barbara Sue, Tupelo; Larry Lee Brownfield, Ada; three grandchildren, Melissa Kay Watson, Richard Watson, Jr. and John Watson. Mrs. Weddle was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Blanchard Weddle and her mother, Mattie Marie Mears.

Nealy Glover
Services for Nealy Glover, 75, Elgin, were held Monday, Oct. 1 at 10:00 a.m. at Fletcher Christian Church with Adraine Smith, Sterling and Billy Paul Eakins, officiating. died September 28 in a Lawton Hospital. On March 29, 1947 he died September 28, 2001 at Arbuckle Hospital. On March 2, 1999 Mr. Coslick Interment was at the Oaklawn Cemetery under the direction of Cowley-Krien Funeral Home. Mrs. Ray was born on July 12, 1932 in Lynnville, Iowa to Case Dunsbergen and Madge Montgomery Dunsbergen. She married Ray Jay in Lynnville, Iowa. He preceded her in death on December 29, 2000. Mrs. Jay worked at different banks in Oklahoma City, but most of her career was spent at Guaranty Bank, which is now Americrest Bank, where she as promoted to Vice President. Mrs. Jay's life was devoted to her family and church. When she retired she moved to the Sulphur area, where she became an active member in the United Methodist Church and helped with the construction on the new church building. She is survived by one daughter, Cheryl Kuper and her husband, John, Oklahoma City; two sons, Kevin Jay, Yukon, and Doug Jay and his wife, Mindy, Beaverton, Ore.; two brothers, Cornie Dusbergen, Lynnville, Iowa, and Dick Dunsbergen, Cheyenne,Wyo. and two grandchildren, Clare and Kate Jay, Beaverton, Ore. The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Sulphur United Methodist Church.

Eva Lorene Williams
Services for Eva Lorene Williams, 78, were held Saturday, Dec. 8 at 2:00 p.m. at the Cowley-Krien Chapel with Robert Green officiating. died Wednesday, Dec. 5 at the Callaway Nursing Home. On September 28, 1940 she Interment was at Mt. Hope Catholic Cemetery, Pontiac, Mich. under the direction of Krien Funeral Home. Mrs. Amman was born on January 6, 1909 in Clarksburg, West Va. to William Elwood and Hattie Guthrie. She married Alphonse (Al) J. Courture in Pontiac, Mich. He preceded her in death on June 20, 1966. In 1968 she interment will be at the Green Hill Cemetery in Davis under the direction of Krien Funeral Home. Mrs. Crawford was born on February 13, 1936 to Edgar James Crawford and Alma Idella Broom in Davis. Mr. Crawford married Peggy Priddy. He grew up in the Sunshine Community and graduated from Davis High School. He attended Murray State College and Oklahoma University. Mr. Crawford built, owned and operated convenience stores over most of the state. He lived the last 15 years in McAlester, where he owned and operated "Quick Mart" convenience store. He is survived by his wife Peggy, of the home, a daughter Jacki LeAnn Rogers, Davis; a son, James Dale Crawford, Sulphur; three step-children, Curt, Kent and Kim Priddy; two grandchildren, J.W. and Sarah Rogers; three sisters, Ruby Faye Vernon, California; Dorothy Brown and Ruth Pope, both of Davis, several step grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Ernest Lee "Bob" Crawford. Pallbearers will be John Constantites, Ron Marino, Terry Crenshaw, J.W. Rogers, Gabe Blankenship, Jacob Blankenship. Honorary pallbearer will be Bill Priddy.

Kenneth Edward Runyan
Services for Kenneth Edward Runyan, 64, Vian, Okla., were held Monday, Dec. 10 at 2:00 p.m. at the Cowley-Krien Chapel with Bro. Eddie Malphrus officiating. died December 7, in Vian. On October 1, 1955 he died Monday, Dec. 10.

Letha Cleveland
Services for Letha Cleveland, 76, were held Tuesday, Feb. 5 [2002] at 2:00 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Brent Parsons officiating. died February 3 at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City. On September 21, 1948 she married J.E. Cleveland in Gainsville, Texas. Mrs. Cleveland moved to Sulphur in 1948. She devoted her time and life to her husband of 54 years and to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was know as "Granny" who had special pies, biscuits and gravy, pickles and fried chicken for each of her "Grands". They each expected their own special pies for their birthdays and other occasions. She will be greatly missed by her loving family and her good friends. She is survived by her husband, J.E. Cleveland, of the home; one son, Dwight Cleveland and his wife, Beverly, Sulphur; three daughters, Mary Bolton and her husband, Jack, Coleman, Texas, Marilynn Cleveland, Miami, Okla.; Marla Winnared and her husband, Gerald, Ardmore; eight grandchildren, Lisa Smith, Micah Noland, Alison Noland Arms, Bronson Noland, Kristi Cleveland Snow, Kari Cleveland, Erik Cleveland, and Tyler Winnard; four great grandchildren, Jordan and Colton Smith, Bailee and Gunner Arms and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, James O'Brien Cleveland. Pallbearers were Mark Colbert, John Colbert, Keith Mann, David Pitman, J.R. Norton and Jack Rife. Honorary bearers were Bill Oneal, Steve Cleveland and Greg Cleveland.
