Longtime Seminole County Resident Lois Marie (Carpitcher) Adachi died Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at St. Anthony’s Hospital, in Oklahoma City. She was born Feb. 20, 1950, in Seminole, to Freland and Susie (Albert) Carpitcher.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Victory Baptist Church, in Oklahoma City.
She is survived by her daughters, Sandra Yzaguirre and Christy Fontenot, both of Oklahoma City; brothers, Jesse Carpitcher, of Oklahoma City and Danny Carpitcher, of Seattle, Wash.; and sisters, Francis Glenn, Erma Harjo, and Carol Carpitcher, all of Oklahoma City
Preceding her in death are her parents and son, Manuel Yzaguirre.
Funeral Services are scheduled for Monday, June 22, 2009, at 1 p.m. at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel, in Seminole, with Rev. Houston Tiger, Jimsey Harjo and Billy Merritt officiating. Interment will be at Peter Tiger’s Family Cemetery, in Seminole.
Pallbearers will be Marco Carpitcher, Oscar Bunner, Donovan Estrada, Jonas Carpitcher, D.J. Battiest, and Johnny Gallegos.
Honorary Pallbearers are Jesse Carpitcher, Charles Tiger, JimmyAlbert, Danny Carpitcher, Pete Harjo, Donald Ray Harjo, Woodrow Harjo, Jeremy Aliason, Jay Aliason, Leon Lena, and Nicholas "Phillip" Carter.
Darrell Adams
Former Seminole resident, age 66, Darrell Adams died Saturday, April 18, 2009, in Shawnee.
He was born July 30, 1942, in Shawnee, to Roy and Thelma Mae (Harmon) Adams.
Mr. Adams lived and worked most of his life in the Seminole and Tecumseh areas. He was a 1959 graduate of Harjo School.
On October 23, 1976, he married Harriet Adkisson, in Marthasville, Louisiana.
He worked for Southwestern Bell as a Service Technician for 39 years before retiring in 1995.
He loved the lake, especially his place at Texoma Lake. He loved his dog, Missy, and enjoyed fishing. He enjoyed the times spent with his family, especially with his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Lovern DeLoach.
He is survived by his wife, Harriet Adams, of the Home; sons and daughters-in-law, Gregg and Belinda Adams, of Seminole and Richard and Angie Adams of Macomb; daughters and son-in-law, Jamie and Travis Gates, of Shawnee and Laura Jean McAfee and sons, of Arkansas; grandchildren and their spouses, Brad and Lindsay Adams, Brandon Adams, Brittny Adams, Blake Adams, Beau Guinn, Megan and Josh Williams, Dax Gates and Bree Gates; one great grandchild expected, Ryder Scott Adams; sister and brother-in-law: Linda and Larry Whisenhunt, of Shawnee; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Linda and Doyle Ivester; longtime Special friends, Delbert and Barbara Aldridge; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 22, 2009, at Cooper Funeral Chapel with Rev. Larry Sparks officiating. Burial will be at Tecumseh Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
Viewing will begin 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 21. The casket will remain open until service time and will not be reopened following the service.
Leonard Alderson Jr.
Leonard Joe Alderson, Jr., age 58, died Sunday, Jan. 4, 2009, at his residence, in Maud.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 8, 2009, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. in Konawa, under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, in Konawa. A Rosary service is scheduled for 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 7, at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel, in Konawa. Father Adrian Vorderlandwehr, OSB will officiate. Soloists are Danny Khoury, and Sandra Mitchell.
He was born July 22, 1950, in Blackwell, to Leonard Joe Alderson and Charlotte A. (Rhodd) Alderson. He married Frankie Jo LeClair, Dec. 1, 1970, in Paris, Texas.
He is survived by his mother, Charlotte Alderson, of Maud; son, Travis Sean Alderson, of Maud; daughter, Summer Artensia Alderson, of Shawnee; sister, Charlotte Ann Shelley, of Maud; and two grandchildren;
He was preceded in death by his father, Leonard Joe Alderson, and his wife, Frankie Jo Alderson.
Pallbearers are Frankie Walker, Mark Copeland, Billy Freeman, Wichita Blaine, Larry Bear, Fussy Lowery, and Burt Talbear.
Honorary pallbearers are Donnie Bailey, and Donald Fry.
Janice Aldridge
Former Wewoka resident Janice Ann Aldridge died Tuesday, April 21, in Wagoner.
She was born Nov. 26, 1940 in Wewoka, to Marlon Alonzo and Vivian Jewel (Crenshaw) Aldridge.
She was a graduate of Excelsior High School.
She is survived by her son, Danny Ray Aldridge, of Wagoner; brother, Gene Ray Aldridge, of Cromwell; sisters, Leta Jewel Bourque, of Shawnee and Mary Woody, of Prague.
She is preceded in death by her parents and sister Eula Mae Johnson.
Graveside Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday, April 23, 2009, at Sand Creek Cemetery, in Cromwell, with Dr. Wesley Graver officiating.

Andrew Alexander
Seminole resident Andrew "Andy" Alexander, age 88, died Monday, Nov. 16, 2009, in Seminole,
He was born Feb. 12, 1921, in Seminole County, to Toney and Ellen Foster (Tiger) Alexander.
He was a retired maintenance technician at Central State Hospital, in Norman, where he retired after 21 years of public service in 1983. He was also a retired member of the Oklahoma National Guard and was honorably discharged Feb. 28, 1981, at the rank of Master Sergeant.
He is survived by his sons, Raymond Alexander, of Sturgeon, Mo., Marvin Alexander, of Shawnee, Paul Alexander, of Tecumseh, and David Alexander, of Hartsville, Tenn.; daughter, Bonnie Gibson, of Mounds; 27 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Pallbearers will be: Chris Hays, Jimmy Gibson II., Paul Alexander Jr., Gary Tilkens, Taz Alexander and Jason Alexander.
Honorary Bearers will be: Sam Proctor, Clarence Tiger, Simon Harry, Newman Littlebear, Simon Larney and Joe Jackson.

Leroy Alexander
Wewoka resident Rev. Leroy Alexander, age 74, died Thursday, June 25, 2009 at his residence.
He was born June 17, 1935 to Willie and Jane Alexander.
He was raised in Lula, and graduated from Lula High School. After high school he worked as a truck driver. He was a bass singer in a few gospel quartets in the Wewoka area. On June 4, 1989 he was ordained as a Baptist Minister.
He married Katherine Jo Hawkins March, 2, 1967, in Midwest City.
He is preceded in death by his wife; parents; brother, Billy Gene Alexander; and sisters, Lorene Jackson, Lucille Byington, and Sarah Walker.
He is survived by his brother, Hubert Alexander; two sisters, Pauline Walker and Virginia Bolen; three sons, Phillip Alexander, Ledon Alexander, and Leroy Alexander Jr.; three daughters, LaDoria Williams, Claudine Malone, and Elizabeth Beck; fifteen grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Wake Services are scheduled for 6 p.m. Saturday, June 27, 2009, at Stout-Phillips Funeral Chapel and 7 p.m. Sunday, June 28, 2009, at Middle Creek #2 Baptist Church.

Linda Alexander
Linda Gibbs Alexander, 92, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday July 8, 2009, in Norman. She was surrounded by family and friends.
Linda was born on March 21, 1917, to Wadie and Manny (Cumseh) Gibbs, in Sasakwa. She moved to Norman, in 1962 where she retired from the State of Oklahoma in 1985 after working for 27 years at the Griffin State Memorial Hospital. She participated in native Indian ceremonial dances and co-authored books on the Muskogean-Creek language.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father; two brothers, George Gibbs and Roman Tiger; and one sister, Julia Powell.
Survivors include two daughters, Bertha Tilkens, of Norman and Bonnie Gibson and her husband Jimmy, of Mounds; four sons, Thomas Jones and his wife Roseann, of Seminole, Paul Alexander and his wife Ann, of Tecumseh, Marvin Alexander, of Shawnee and David Alexander and his wife Melia, of Hartsville, Tenn. She had 32 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.
She was a wonderful loving mother, grandmother and friend, she will be missed dearly. A memorial service was held Thursday July 9, 2009 at 4 p.m. at the 1st Indian Methodist Church, in Norman with funeral services held at the Spring Indian Baptist Church West of Sasakwa, on Saturday July 11, 2009 at 1 p.m. Burial took place at the Gibbs family cemetery. Mildred Alexander
Mildred Alexander, of Wewoka, died Friday, April 17, 2009, in Holdenville.
She was born Sept. 22, 1919, in Paris, Texas, to Samuel Reese Alexander and Lena Mae (Liddell) Alexander.
She was a member of St. Stephens Missionary Baptist Church, in Wewoka. She served as secretary of the Benevolent Fund, was a member of the Sunday School and ladies missionary society.
She is survived by her sisters, Mable Alexander, of Wewoka, Velma Brown, of Muskogee, Virginia Jo Reynolds, of Tulsa, and Ruggie Mae Caldwell, of Oklahoma City; and brother, L.B. Alexander, of Wewoka.
She is preceded in death by her parents, brother, L. Z Alexander; sisters, Elgie Alexander and Earlie Vee Dangerfield.
Services are scheduled for Saturday, April 25, 2009, at Macedonia Baptist Church, in Wewoka, with Rev. E.G. Bert officiating. Interment will follow at Wisner Cemetery, in Wetumka.
Services are under the direction of Myers Mortuary, in Wewoka.
Johnnie Alford
A memorial service for Seminole native Johnnie Mae Alford is set for 7 p.m. Thursday, July 23, 2009, at Riverside Indian Baptist Church at 219 East Jefferson in Tecumseh.
A wake service is set for 6:30 p.m. Friday, at Hitchittee Indian Methodist Church (five miles east of Little and a half-mile north of SH 99A).
The funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, July 25, at the Hitchittee Indian Methodist Church.
Pastor John Spradlin of Riverside Indian Bapitst Church will officiate the service. Interment will follow at Hitchittee Church Cemetery.
Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole.
Johnnie Mae Alford died Wednesday, July 22, 2009, at the age of 62 years, at Unity North Hospital in Shawnee.
She was born Jan. 11, 1947, in Seminole to parents John Larney and Malinda (Alexander) Larney.
She graduated from Central High School in Oklahoma City. She worked as a presser for several different dry cleaners including Rod’s Dry Cleaners in Oklahoma City from which she retired.
Following her retirement Alford moved to Shawnee where she lived for 25 years before returning to Seminole County. She was a member of the Riverside Indian Baptist Church in Tecumseh.
Survivors include three sons, Richard Alford, Kevin Alford, and Kent Alford all of Shawnee; two daughters, Diana Alford of Earlsboro, and Deidra Alford of Shawnee; three brothers, John Larney Jr. of Kansas, Simon Larney and of Oklahoma, and Harry Larney of Seminole; four sisters, Sally Fixico of Seminole, Shirley Fruit of Shawnee, Idalena Mitchell Oklahoma City, and Cecelia Barnett of Talequah; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Alford was preceded in death by her parents and by two sisters, Linda Bear and Rachel Bear.
Casket bearers will be Timmy Bear, Chris Ataddlety, Duane Ataddlety, Marquis Fixico, John Ray Bear, and Joseph Burgess.
Honorary bearers are listed as Mitchell Harjo, Tony Walters, "Gugee" Katsitenseriio, Brian Keith Mitchell, and Daniel Johnson.
Lee Ann Alford
Wewoka resident Lee Ann Alford, age 73 years, passed away Friday March 6, 2009.
Funeral Services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, March 14, 2009 at First Baptist Church, in Wewoka, with Rev. L.R. Drinkwater Sr. officiating and burial to follow at Westwood Cemetery.
She was born July 29, 1935 in Wewoka, to Hollis Earl Smith and Myrtle Wilson.
She attended Wewoka Public School and Douglas High School. She attended the Byng Vocational School where she received her LPN Licence. She retired from Holdenville General Hospital after 30 plus years as a nurse and Discharge Planner.
Lee Ann and Edward Lee Alford Sr. married Dec. 8, 1952, in Wewoka.
Ann was a member of St. Joseph Baptist Church for over 50 years and was the Church Clerk.
Preceding her in death are both parents and two grandchildren (Carlos Duke and Ria Bruner).
Survivors include her husband, Edward L. Alford, Sr.; sons, Earl Alford (Rena), of Wewoka, Gary Alford, of Norman, Edward Alford Jr. (Lorene), of Wewoka, Brent L. Alford, of Wichita, Kan., Ray Alford (LaTonya), Arlington, Texas; daughters, Gloria A. Carr, of Spring, Texas, Annette Bruner (Ray), of Wewoka, and Montria Denise Alford, of Wewoka; seventeen grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; aunt, Amelia Hill, of Wewoka; brother, Chester Smith, of Oklahoma City; and uncle, L.R. Webster, of Oklahoma City.
