Annie Brown

Wewoka resident Annie Ree Brown passed away Thursday, Feb. 12, 2009 in Holdenville, at the age of 68.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 11a.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, 2009 at First Baptist Church, Wewoka, with Rev. Benson officiating and burial at Oakwood Cemetery.

She was born Oct. 14, 1940, in Wewoka, to Johnnie and Juanita Hunter Brown. She attended Douglas High School, in Wewoka.

She attended Byng Vocational School for one year in the nursing program.

She worked for Oakridge Nursing Home as an LPN, retiring in 1998.

Annie was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, collecting elephants, and making quilts.

Her life revolved around her family.

Survivors include her mother, Juanita Hunter Brown, of Wewoka; children, Charmetta Jackson, of Wewoka, Donna Hunt, of Midwest City, Lisa Brown, of Wewoka, Maurice Brown, of Wichita Falls, Texas, Marcus Brown, of Wewoka; brothers and sisters, Lottie Willis, of Oklahoma City, Carzell Brown, of Wewoka, Linda Brown, of Wewoka; nine grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death are her father, Johnnie Brown; grandson, Phillip Hunt; companion, Manuel Carolina Sr.; and step-son, Jason Carolina.

Derric Brown

Derric Allen Brown, age 17, of Wewoka, died Friday, Oct. 2, at the Seminole Integris Medical Center, in Seminole. He was born Feb. 5, 1992, in Spokane, Wash., to Jeffery Allen Smith and Virginia Kay Brown. He attended Allen Schools before marrying Megan Vandusen on June 19, 2008.

He is survived by his wife, of the home; children, Christopher Allen Brown and Aaron Micheal Brown, of the home; father; Allen Smith, of Kentucky; mother: Virginia Kay Brown McGovern, of Atwood; and brothers, Jon Brown, Wesley McGovern and Alec Brown, of Atwood.

Visitation will continue until Tuesday afternoon. Memorial services are scheduled for 10 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2009, at Hudson–Phillips Funeral Home. Rev. Jess Power will officiate.

William Bruce

Funeral Services for longtime Wewoka resident William "Travis" Bruce are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 7, 2009 at First Baptist Church, in Wewoka with Rev. Michael Vallandingham officiating and assisted by Perry Justus. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.

Travis passed away, Sunday, Feb. 1, 2009, in Oklahoma City, at the age of 86.

He was born Dec. 30, 1922 in Kiamitia, Texas to Dewey and Mertle Bruce.

He married Edith Christine Snyder and to this union two daughters were born. He graduated from East Texas State University with a Bachelor of Science. He served in both the Army and Marines.

Travis was a food sales rep for Welch and Kraft Foods for many years.

He was well known in the Wewoka community and community activities. He was a member of First Baptist Church, of Wewoka and the Country Club.

Travis coached baseball, golf, and basketball. He was still coaching golf in his eighties. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Survivors include his wife Edith Christine, of the Home; daughter, Debbie Galyean, of Ardmore; sister, Robbie Risinger, of Texas; brother, Larry Bruce, of Seminole; grandchildren, Michael O'Brien, Beau Galyean, Wesley Galyean, and Christina Galyean; and one great-grandchild, Bailey Rae O'Brien.

He is preceded in death by his parents and one daughter Jackie Lynn O'Brien.

Loyd Bryant

Loyd A. Bryant died Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2009, in Duncan.

He was born March 7, 1922, to Bertie Lee and Mary Essie Campbell Bryant, in Seminole.

On May 17, 1941, he married Ozella Coody, in Maysville, and soon after enlisted in the United States Army during the start of WW II. He served his country in the European Theater, was captured and was a POW for about 2 years in Germany. After the Army he began preaching. He was a Church of Christ preacher for over 60 years, serving in a number of Churches.

He is survived by his wife, of Duncan; son, Harvey Bryant, daughters, Kay Patterson, of Midwest City, and Carolyn Frost, of Pernell; brothers, Virgil Bryant, of Duncan, J.D. Bryant, of Lindsay, and Floyd Bryant, of Fresno, Calif.; 9 grandchildren; and 20 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, Oct. 19, 2009, at 10a.m., at the Eastside Church of Christ, 202 North A. Streetm, in Duncan, with Ron Stough and Tad McGalliard officiating, with burial in the Maysville Cemetery under the direction of John Williams of Winans Funeral Home, in Maysville.

A.C. Bundy

Longtime Seminole resident A.C. Lee Bundy passed away on Friday, November 13, 2009 in Seminole, Oklahoma, at the age of 89.

Graveside services are scheduled for 2 p.m., Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at Little Cemetery with Allen Wood and David McDougal officiating.

A.C. was born on June 24, 1920, in Stratford, Oklahoma to Bert and Mary E. (Brown) Bundy. He married Rena (Jackson) Bundy on May 26, 1942, in Holdenville, Oklahoma; she survives him of the home.

A.C. enlisted in the United States Army in 1938 and was honorably discharged in 1946 where he earned the rank of Staff Sergeant.

He worked for C & J Trucks for 36 years as a truck driver where he retired.

He was a member of the Free Will Baptist Church and a former American Legion Commander Post 204 where he held several offices. He also worked for the Seminole Police Department for 3 years, liked playing pool, poker, loved flowers, riding horses and taking long naps.

A.C. is survived by his wife, Rena Bundy, of the home; son, Curtis Bundy, of Okmulgee, Oklahoma; daughter, Teresa Morgan, of Seminole; sister, Claudine Willis, of Tulsa, Oklahoma; two granddaughters, Ashlee Gatzke, of Shawnee, and Lee Ann Bundy, of Okmulgee; and one grandson, Grant Penuel, of Seminole; two great granddaughters, Abigail Gatzke and Amarie Gatzke, of Shawnee. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews and other family and dear friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Bert and Mary Bundy; brother, Alva Bundy; two sisters, Velma Tooley and Alene Wilson; and one son, Fred Bundy.

Honorary pallbearers will be: Kenny Speer III, Todd Speer, Steve Jackson, Gerald Pickett, Kenny Spear and Melvin Hardin.

Lorene Bundy

Services for Lorene Bundy, 93, Seminole, formerly of Ada are 2 p.m. Monday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel in Ada, Rev. Tim Tate and Billy Bundy will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery.

Mrs. Bundy died Thursday, October 29, 2009 at a Shawnee nursing home. She was born January 29, 1916 near Stratford, Oklahoma to John and Ollie Burke Dansby.

She attended Byford school near Stratford and also Stratford High School.

She lived in the Ada area most of her life, moving to Seminole 23 years ago.

She married Cleo M. Bundy February 7, 1932. He preceded her in death on November 21, 1987 at Ada.

Mrs. Bundy was a homemaker, gardener and a quilt maker, making many quilts for her family and church members.

She was a past-president of the Ladies Auxiliary at the Pentecostal Holiness Church and was also a Sunday School teacher for many years. Mrs. Bundy attended the Emmanuel Fellowship Church in Seminole.

Survivors include three daughters, Clarene Land, Oklahoma City, Barbara Bess, Seminole, and Nelma Groves, Shawnee; a daughter-in-law, Novella Bundy, Ada; two sons, Billy Bundy and wife Sandra, Ada and Mark Bundy and wife Cammie, Shawnee; twelve grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Charles Bundy in July 1999, and a great grandson, Jared Bundy October 10, 1988.

Bearers will be Lindel Bundy, Trent Bundy, Justin Bundy, Dylan Bundy, Rocky Nunley and Leon Prater.

Honorary bearers will be Clifford Smith, David Land, Barbara Groves and Larry Sellars.

Linnea Callis

Linnea Ann "Sandy" (Sandberg) Callis, age 74, died Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2009, at her home in Seminole. She was born Oct. 22, 1935, in El Cajon, Calif., to Matthew Sandberg and Nelda Marie (Goode) Sandberg.

She graduated from El Cajon, California High School and later moved to Edmond. She moved to Seminole in 1984 where she worked for Wrangler retiring after 23 years of service.

She is survived by her sons, Andrew Vloedman, of Weatherford, Okla., Derk Vloedman, of Clinton; daughters, Janel Ann Wynn, of McAlester, and Donna Lea Moore, of Cromwell; stepson, Chuck Callis, of Watonga; brother, Richard Sandberg, of Tucson, Ariz.; twenty grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 19, 2009, at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel, in Seminole. Interment will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens with Rev. Carl Whitfield officiating.

Casket Bearers will be: Jarrod Stow, Justin Green, Colt Moore, Chris Jones, Chuck Callis, and Jacob Vloedman.

Honorary Bearers are: Eddie Dollarhide And Matt Levick.

Public visitation will begin at 8 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 18, 2009 at Swearingen Funeral Home, in Seminole. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday.

Funeral services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.

Rhoda Camp

Funeral services for Rhoda Lovell Camp, 33, Konawa, were scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday at the Seminole Indian Baptist Church.

Revs. George Harjochee and Jimsey Harjo were set to officiate. Burial followed at the Harjo family cemetery.

Camp died Wednesday, July 15, 2009, at an Oklahoma City hospital.

She was born Dec. 1, 1975, in Claremore, to Antler and Jackie Ann Carpitcher Harjo.

She graduated from Choctaw High School. She attended Eastern Oklahoma Vo-Tech in Choctaw and she attended Seminole State College.

She married Israel Camp on Dec. 19, 1998.

Camp was a phlebotomist at Carl Albert Indian Hospital. She was a member of the Seminole Indian Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Israel Camp, of the home; three children, Rhiannon Inell Camp, Zaniel Camp, and Cynda Ann Camp, all of the home; her mother, Jackie Ann Kernel, Ada; her father, Antler Harjo, Konawa; a sister, Rhonda Leigh Narcomey, Wolf; and a brother, Charlie Jack Harjo, Oklahoma City.

Bearers will be Damien Greenlee, Travis Scott, Marques Walker, Michael Walker, Timmie Narcomey, and Charlie Harjo.

Services were handled by Criswell Funeral Home of Ada.

Paul Campbell

Konawa resident Paul Milton, 84, went to be with the Lord on July 25, 2009, in Norman. He was born January 24, 1925, in Hazel, Oklahoma, to Calvin and Mattie Campbell and graduated from Central High School, in Seminole County.

He served in the United States Army as a Sergeant with Company I 21st Infantry Regiment/ 24th Infantry Division from 1943 to 1946, receiving the Asiatic-Pacific Theater Campaign Medal with two Bronze Stars, Good Conduct Medal, Purple Heart and Victory Ribbon with two overseas Bars before his Honorable Discharge at Ft. Sam Houston, Texas, on January 29, 1946.

He worked at Tinker Air Force Base, retiring after 20 years of service in 1975.

He was married on September 4, 1976, to Wanda Faye Glover Townley, in Konawa, where he enjoyed his farm and cattle.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, James "Pete" Campbell.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Faye of the home; children, Paul Monroe "Butch" Campbell and his wife Peggy, of Shawnee; Steve Campbell, of Springfield, Mo.; Jerry Townley and wife Teresa, of Washington, Oklahoma; Tommy Townley and wife Karen, of Moore; Patricia "Patti" Townley Gatlin and husband David, of Meeker; grandchildren, Susan Beadle, Jennifer Chenoweth, Melissa Campbell, Stacey Morris, Kristi Grass, Matthew Campbell, Kyle Campbell, Shawna Johnston, Kevin Townley, Darren Townley, Thomas Townley, Chase Townley, Amber Brown and Alisha Myers; great-grandchildren, Leane Mullendore, Jackson Lawson, Michael Beadle, Jensen and Brandon Chenoweth, Kylee, Shaylee and Rylee Morris, Kamy Johnston, Gavin and Rylin Brown; one great-great-grandchild, Lyric Fobb; brother Sherman Junior Campbell and wife Audry, of Shawnee; sister Carolyn Johnson and husband Stanley, of Konawa; many nieces, nephews, and a host of other loving family and friends.

Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 29, 2009, at the Assembly of God Church in Konawa with burial following at Resthaven Memorial Park in Shawnee under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home.
