Pearl Mattenlee Curry, age 95, longtime Seminole resident went home to be with the Lord on Monday, Feb. 2, 2009 in Oklahoma City. Pearl was born Dec. 14, 1913 in Keifer, to Ed and Bertie(McCullen) Hardin.
Mrs. Curry owned Curry-Hardin Furniture and Gifts in Seminole for many years and retired in May of 1985.
Mrs. Curry was very active in the First United Methodist Church where she was a longtime member. She was a member of the Wedding Ring Class and UMW, a Campfire Leader, Sunday School Teacher and a member of the Eastern Star.
Mrs. Curry married Tony E. Curry, Sept. 10, 1931 in Marietta. Tony preceded her in death on Feb. 17, 1980.
Mrs. Curry is survived by four daughters: Norma June Nease, of Oklahoma City, Billie Ann Minihan, of Shawnee, Mary Lee Crenshaw, of Seminole, and Toni Lynn Lee, of Oklahoma City. She is also survived by one sister, Verba Krasowski, of Shawnee. Mrs. Curry is survived by five grandchildren: Thomas Michael Minihan, Amy Hill, R.B. Bruce, Stephanie Jackson, Stacy Ezell and by 4 great grandchildren: Braden Starcher, Krissy Starcher, Erin Hill and Benjamin Jackson.
Mrs. Curry was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Tony, by brothers Bert and Steve Hardin, sister Anna Mae Evans and by two stepsons Donald and Bill Curry.
Funeral services for Mrs. Curry are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 6, 2009 at the First United Methodist Church of Seminole with Pastor Gary Wilburn officiating and assisted by Pastor Nicholas Jackson. Internment will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens of Seminole, Oklahoma.
Serving as casket bearers are James Evans, Edward Hardin, Johnny Lewis, Wesley Hill, Charles Krasowski and Walter Hardin.
Inez Daniel
Inez Ross Daniel, 84 year-old, Wetumka resident and former Seminole resident passed from this life Friday, March 6, 2009 in Wetumka, Oklahoma. She was born July 24, 1924 in Wetumka, Oklahoma to parents W.D. Hulstine and Nellie (Bond) Hulstine.
Inez married her first husband James A. Ross in 1940 he preceded her in death in 1968. She later married Jep Daniel in 1972 and he preceded her in death in 1999.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and William B. Grubbs, Jr., of Pascagoula, Miss.; two sisters, Ruby Jones, of Richardson, Texas and Clarice Snell, of Wetumka, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Marlene Belton, Shonda McGuire, William "Sonny" Grubbs and Tamara Ross; six great-grandchildren, Haley Belton, Kordel Ross McGuire, Ashleigh Ross, Zack Hamilton, Laney Grubbs and Landry Grubbs; Inez is also survived by a host of other family and friends.
Inez is preceded in death by her parents, two husbands; one son, James "Smiley" Ross; three brothers and one sister.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m., Wednesday, March 11, 2009 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel, in Seminole, Oklahoma. Rev. Carl Whitfield will officiate the service. Interment will follow at Wetumka Cemetery.
Casket Bearers will be: Bobby Bush, Jim Nolen, Arlie Nolen, Rooster Hardin, Tony Peters and Andy Johnson.
Honorary Casket Bearers will be: Jep Daniel, Jack Daniel and Lance Daniel.

R.B. Daniels
R.B. Daniels, age 83, died Saturday, Dec. 26, 2009, at his home, in Wewoka. He was born June 16, 1926, in Seminole, to Henry Daniels and Mamie Noble Daniels.
He was a Seminole Tribal member and a member of Mekusukey Band.
R.B. is survived by his daughters, Donetta Madkins, of Chicago, Ill., Kay Lynn Daniels, of Wewoka, and May Zetta Hall, of Grand Prairie, Texas; daughter-in-law, Inez Daniels, of Bakersfield, Calif.; son-in-law, Billy Hall, of Prairie, Texas; sister and brother-in-law, Helen and Theodore McDonald, of Wewoka; uncle, Rev. Matt Noble, of Las Vegas, Nev.; ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Daniels and Mamie Noble Daniels.
Wake services for R.B. Daniels are scheduled for 6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 1, 2010, at Stout-Phillips Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Dan Factor and Rev. Houston Tiger officiating.

Wilford Daniels
Seminole resident Wilford C. Daniels, age 86, died Nov. 2, 2009, in Shawnee.
He was born Oct. 16, 1923, in Hennessey, to Clarence and Bernice (Fee) Daniels. He married Emma (De Buck) on Nov. 20, 1973. She preceded him in death.
He moved to Seminole from San Francisco, Calif., where he was a bus operator. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, in Seminole, and was also a member of the Primetimers at First Baptist Church. He served in the United States army during WWII.
He is survived by his sisters; Opal Riggin, of Owasso, and Zella Reagan, of Conroe, Texas; brother, Wayne Daniels, of Enid; step-daughter, Shirley Green, of California.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 5, 2009, at the Swearingen Funeral Chapel with Rev. Carl Whitfield officiating. Interment will follow in Dover, Oklahoma.
Beth Davis
Beth (Nutter) Davis, 63, longtime Seminole resident, left this life to go home on Tuesday, July 21, 2009, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Beth was born December 20, 1945 in Seminole, Oklahoma to Jess and Corene (Gibson) Nutter.
Beth married Jeff Davis, of Little, on April 3, 1969, in Little and they made their home in the Little community for the past 40 years.
Beth was a schoolteacher all of her working life. She touched and helped many people while teaching English and French, at Shawnee High School, Strothers High School, and Seminole High School. Beth was a former member of the Seminole County Retired Teachers Association and the O.E.A. Beth also loved to quilt and sew in her leisure time. She was a longtime member of the Church of Christ, in Little, and she spent many hours helping keep records for the Little Cemetery.
During her retirement Beth spent as much time as possible keeping up with all her family and network of friends, always offering encouragement and a little advice. She spent countless hours delving into the past while possessing a great enjoyment for genealogy. She left a lasting legacy for her family and extended family with all of her research.
Beth was well loved and will be greatly missed by many.
Beth is survived by her husband, Jeff Davis, of the home in Little; two sons, Owen Davis and David, of Shawnee, Oklahoma, and Jesse and Lesley Davis, of Pryor, Oklahoma; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Sue and Dale Streater, of Sapulpa, Oklahoma and Kaye and Jimmie Allen, of Jones, Oklahoma; brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Donna Nutter, of Seminole, Oklahoma; and a host of nieces, nephews and special friends.
Services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m., Friday, July 24, 2009 at the Church of Christ, in Little, Oklahoma. Rusty Dawson will be officiating the service. Men of the Church of Christ, in Little, will be casket bearers.

Bob Davis
Bob F. Davis, 69, longtime Seminole businessman died Wednesday, June 3, 2009 at his home in Seminole after a seven month battle with cancer. Bob was born August 15, 1939, in Tecumseh, Oklahoma to Robert F. and Iva Inez (Campbell) Davis.
Bob grew up in Shawnee, Oklahoma and attended Shawnee Schools. Bob graduated in 1958 from Shawnee High School and celebrated his 50th class reunion this past fall, of 2008.
After high school he joined the U.S. Army where he served and attained the rank of Specialist 4th class. Upon completion of his service to our country Bob attended Southeastern State University, in Durant, Oklahoma where he attended for three years, and was a member of Sigma Tau Gamma Fraternity.
Bob married Jary Carol Kinkade, on August 15, 1965 at the Immanuel Baptist Church in Shawnee, Oklahoma. The couple moved to Seminole in 1971.
Since moving to Seminole Bob began working in the family business at L & L Jewelry and Music, in Seminole, where he was co-owner and operator for many years. Bob has been very active in civic and community affairs. Bob was a member of the First Baptist Church, in Seminole, and participated in the Adult D Couples Sunday School Class.
He was active in Seminole High School Booster Club where he served as President three times and active in the baseball and softball associations, in Seminole. Bob was a member of the Seminole Masonic Lodge and was a Shriner. Bob was a former administrator and member of Citizen Potawatomi Tribe, in Shawnee, Oklahoma.
Bob is survived by his wife, Jary Davis, of the home, in Seminole; one son and daughter-in-law, Todd Alan and Darana Davis; of Seminole; and one daughter and son-in-law, Ashley Milon and Jerry O'Steen, of Shawnee, Oklahoma; and four grandchildren, Kade Davis and Kash Davis, of Seminole, Shelby O'Steen and Connley O'Steen, of Shawnee, Oklahoma.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Kenneth Gene McGowan.
Services are planned for 2 p.m. Monday, June 8, 2009 at the First Baptist Church, in Seminole, Oklahoma with burial at Resthaven Memorial Park, in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Dr. Kelvin Moseley and Dr. Tommy Clark will officiate.

Leroy Davis
Leroy (Rusty) Gene Davis, age 68, of Seminole, died Friday, Sept. 4, 2009, at Mercy Hospital, in Oklahoma City. He was a member of Rewalke Band.
Davis was born Nov. 28, 1940, in Seminole, to Nessie Tiger and Amos Davis. He attended Sequoyah Boarding School and graduated in 1960.
He was a member of the National Guard for three years and discharge in 1963.
On Sept. 2, 1972 he married Dorothy Brown, in Seminole.
He was a member of Tallahassee Presbyterian Church, in Seminole and worked for Higgins and Sons until he suffered a stroke, in 1993.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Davis, of the home; daughter, Erica Madden, of Seminole; sons, Joel Davis, Siah Davis, Timothy Davis, and Chris Daniels, all of the home; 11 grandchildren; sisters, Seenora Tiger and Nancy Harjo, of Seminole, and Leafa Tiger, of Konawa.
Preceding him in death are his parents; daughter, Crystal Davis; sisters, Flora Daniels, Clara Tiger and Waymena McGirt.
Pallbearers will be Thomas Wolf, Ron Daniels, Leo Moppin Jr., Buddy Harjo Jr., Trey Colbert, and Joshua Alsip.

Mark Davis
Longtime Seminole resident Mark Wayne Davis died Feb. 21, 2009 in Oklahoma City, at the age of 36.
He was born Sept. 14, 1972, in Sherman, Texas to Ralph and Opal (Blevins) York.
He graduated from Varnum High School in 1991 and worked at Wal-Mart as a stocker. He was an artist and painted and sketched.
He is survived by his mother and father, Ralph and Opal York, of Seminole; life partner, Ron Vaughn, of the home; brothers, William Gentry, of Brownwood, Texas, Phillip Gentry and George Gentry, of Tyler, Texas and Sam Gentry, of Dallas, Texas, Michael York and Clarence York, both of Tahlequah, John Padilla, of Shawnee and Thomas York, of Seminole; sisters, Judy Harrington, of Maud, Sam Waltman, of Tahlequah, and Tina York of Houston, Texas.
A private family memorial service is scheduled.

Anna Deatherage
Lifelong Seminole resident Anna Ruth Deatherage passed away on Monday, March 23, 2009, in Seminole, at the age of 59.
She was born on August 2, 1949 in Seminole to Noel and Almira (Moppin) Deatherage.
She was a member of the Temple of Praise Church, Seminole. She graduated from Pleasant Grove High School, and was a member of the Seminole Nation Tribe.
She enjoyed playing bingo and spending time with family and friends. Her door was always open for friends and family that she cared for and for those in need.
She is survived by her son, Brandon Deatherage, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; daughter, Kelly Deatherage, of Seminole; three brothers, Dickie Deatherage, of Wilburton, Oklahoma, Jimmy Deatherage, of Seminole, Oklahoma and Willis Deatherage, of McAlester, Oklahoma; and sister, Deanie Anderson, of Seminole, Oklahoma. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, Britton Metcalf, Elon Metcalf, Kelon Chandler, Jevon Chandler, Alisha Deatherage, Destiny Hill, Jordan Barnett, Mayci Chupco and Cade McCoy.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Noel and Almira Deatherage and two brothers, Johny and Larry Deatherage.
Wake services will be held from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday, March 26, 2009 at the Swearingen Funeral Chapel.
