Johnnie Foxx

Johnnie Mae (White) Foxx, 64 year-old lifelong Seminole resident went to be with her Lord and Savior Saturday, May 16, 2009 while under the care of Integris Baptist Medical Center, in Oklahoma City.

She was born January 4, 1945, in Seminole, where she was raised and later graduated in 1963 from Seminole High School.

Johnnie Mae married Robert Lee Foxx on November 6, 1961 in Wewoka, Oklahoma. She worked for Wrangler in Seminole until her retirement in December 2001 after 33 years of dedicated service. She was Wrangler’s quality assurance manager for Oklahoma, Texas and Missouri.

As an active member of the Seminole First Baptist Church, Johnnie Mae served the Lord in many different ministries. She was the Director-Secretary for Sunday School Class D, and served on the Church’s finance committee; she was also involved in the choir where she would often bless the congregation with her solos.

Johnnie Mae was always ready to serve her community where ever and whenever needed. She was a board member for the Jasmine Moran Children’s Museum, and a former Campfire director.

She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 48 years, Robert Foxx of the home; her mother, Willie Mae Saunders of Seminole, Oklahoma; two daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Kevin Woodfork, of Sapulpa, Oklahoma and Deborah and Ed Stewart, of Dallas, Texas; mother-in-law, Mattye Foxx, of Pittsburg, Kansas; three grandchildren, Jaqueline Alysse Woodfork, Kevin Maurice and his wife Doneisha Woodfork and George Edward Stewart II; she is also survived by a host of other dear family and friends.

Johnnie Mae is preceded in death by her father, Willie Saunders; one aunt, Mable Stillwell; mother-in-law, Doretha Winrow and by her father-in-law, Andrew Foxx.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 11 a.m., Thursday, May 21, 2009 at the First Baptist Church, in Seminole. Entombment will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Dr. Tommy Clark, Russell Vicars and Rev. Bobby Curry will officiate the service.

Casket Bearers will be: Marvin Keesee, Michael Barnett, Doug Kalicki, David Whitley, Jack Stripling, Doug Grady, Joe Templeton, Larry Howze, Thurman Edwards, Caeser Rentie and Glen Siler

Honorary Bearers will be: Seminole First Baptist Church Deacons and the Adult D Men’s Class.

The family has requested that donations be made in memory of Johnnie Mae Foxx, to the First Baptist Church "Bridge Building Project, " 420 Reid Street, Seminole, Oklahoma 74868.

Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma 100 West Strothers Ave., Seminole, Oklahoma, 74868 (Phone 405-382-3456).

Franklin Malone

Franklin J. Malone was a caring and loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, great-great grandfather, and brother.

Franklin lost his battle with heart disease and passed away on Friday, Aug. 21 in the presence of his family and friends, at home.

He is survived by Lois Dee, his wife, of 66 years; daughter, Sherry Lynn and husband Mike; daughter, Donna Grieco and husband Ralph, of Colonial Heights, Virginia; grandchildren, Tiffany Lynn, Jeffrey Grieco and wife Amy, Lesley Wirt and husband Jonathan; great grandchildren, Leigha Graham and husband Steve, Cole Callahan, McKenna and Brennan Grieco, Michael Joseph Wirt; great great grandchildren, Damian, Lillian and Celica Graham; and sister, Betty Lawson of Great Bend, of Kan.

He enjoyed a long faithful and fulfilling life. Franklin graduated from Seminole High School, attended Seminole Jr. College until he heeded the call to the Army Air Corp in 1943. Franklin was a pilot in the Pacific Theatre and often reminisced about his many experiences during World War II. Franklin loved being a pilot and was very proud to be in the Army Air Cop and to be an American. He loved his country, family and friends. Franklin joined Lois Dee in real estate in 1969. They both owned and operated Century 21 Malone’s Homes until March 1993. Franklin and Lois Dee both then joined their daughter, Sherry, at Malone’s Property Management, Inc. that same month, where he remained until his passing.

Franklin and Lois Dee often visited daughter and son, Donna and Ralph in Virginia. They made many, life long friends there. Franklin was a member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church. He was very active in the Optimist Club for many years, President and active member of the Century 21 Brokers Council, 1984 National representative for Century 21 for the Oklahoma region to Washington DC, a member of the Midwest City-Del City-Moore Association of Realtors and served on the Planning Commission in Del City.

He touched so many lives with his love and wisdom. He will be greatly missed. We all are so much richer for having known and loved him. Special thanks to the wonderful care given by nurse, Brenda, and caregivers Crystal and Edy and by the attending doctors and nurses at the Oklahoma Heart Hospital.

Prayer service and viewing will be held at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, Midwest City, Monday, Aug. 24 at 7 p.m. and funeral services will be held at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2009.

Lenora Franks

Former Sasakwa resident Lenora Sue Franks, age 46, passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2009 in Oklahoma City, after a long battle with cancer.

Lenora was born Feb. 10, 1963, in Oklahoma City, to Lula Mae Woods.

She graduated from Classen High School, in Oklahoma City. Lenora was a homemaker and also prepared taxes. She was of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by her companion, Pedro Molina, of Oklahoma City; children, Alexandria Andrade, David Michael Andrade, Eric Andrade, and Elena Andrade; two sisters, Jeanette Day and Sharon Franks, both of Oklahoma City; and a host of other relatives and friends in Seminole County.

She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Jesse Woods.

Wake services were held on Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at 6:30 p.m. at Stout-Phillips Funeral Home. Her body will be taken to Middle Creek #2 Baptist Church at 4 p.m. on Thursday, April 30, 2009 where a wake service will be held at 7 p.m.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, May 1, 2009, at Middle Creek #2 Baptist Church, with Rev. Steve Holata and Rev. George Harjochee officiating and interment will follow at the Franks Family Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Leonard Gouge, Sonny Gouge, David Franks, Steve Morris, Timmy Gouge, and Dewayne Gouge.

Honorary bearers will be Virgil Franks, Danny Franks, Felix Gouge, and George Thompson.

Arrangements are under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home, in Wewoka.

Juanita Frazier

Juanita A. Frazier, 84-year-old longtime Seminole resident, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Monday, Jan. 19, 2009, at Unity Health Center in Shawnee. She was born March 10, 1924, in Seminole, to parents Lon Yancey and Lillie (Ross) Yancey.

Juanita married Neal Frazier Oct. 22, 1969, he preceded her in death Sept. 29, 1983. Juanita was a homemaker and loving mother.

Juanita was a member of the Spirit Rain Christian Center, in Shawnee.

She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters and sons-in-law, Joyce D. Sullinger and her husband Clint, of Bowlegs, and Carol S. Hopper and her husband Louis, of Tecumseh; one son, Terry E. Earles, of Midwest City; five brothers, Vernon Yancey, of Seminole, Carl "Bo" Yancey and his wife Winnie, of Seminole, Don Yancey, of Seminole, Bobby Yancey, of Texas, Clint Yancey and his wife Linda, of Seminole; sister, Mary Allen and her husband Wayne, of Wewoka, Oklahoma; six grandchildren, Rick Sullinger and his wife Judy, of Seminole, Rod Hopper and his wife Renee, of Shawnee, Jeffery Earles and his wife Casey, of Midwest City, Tim Earles and his wife Stephanie, of Bowlegs, Theresa Sullinger, of Seminole, and Terri Ann Bowerman and her husband Steve, of Campbell, Texas; eight great grandchildren, Brenna Pierce and her husband Robert, of Bowlegs, Chris Davis, Jennifer Davis and Arron Hopper, all of Shawnee, Samantha Earles, Brandon Earles, Christopher Earles, and Rebecca Earles, all of Bowlegs, and Melissa Sullinger, of Seminole; one great-great grandson, Theron Pierce, of Bowlegs; she is also survived by a host of other dear family and loving friends.

Juanita was preceded in death by her parents, Lon and Lillie Yancey; her husband, Neal Frazier; one son, Billy Dale Earles; one brother, Howard Yancey; four sisters, Kathryn Kay, Helen Earles, Patricia Yancey and Francis Yancey.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m., Friday, Jan. 23, 2009, at Bowlegs First Assembly of God Church. Her daughter, Dr. Carol Hopper, of the Spirit Rain Christian Center, in Shawnee will officiate the service. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, in Seminole.

Casket Bearers will be Rick Sullinger, Rod Hopper, Jeffery Earles, Robert Pierce, Steve Bowerman, Tim Earles, and Chris Davis.

Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, in Seminole.

Victor Friar

A memorial graveside service for longtime Konawa resident Victor Franklin "Butch" Friar, are scheduled for 1 p.m. on Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at Hannah Cemetery near the town of Dustin.

Friar’s sister, Pearline Sanders, will read the eulogy.

Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa.

Friar died Tuesday, September 1, 2009 at the First Shamrock Center in Kingfisher at the age of 59 after a lengthy illness.

He was born on April 16, 1950 to Lawrence Stephen Frair and Lelah Phern (Morris) Frair in Oklahoma City.

Friar is survived by his mother, Phern Frair of Cimarron Nursing Center in Kingfisher; one sister, Pearline Sanders of Kingfisher; and one brother, Tinker Frair of Loyal.

Preceding him in death is his father, Lawrence Frair from Konawa; one sister, Sandra K. Holland from Kingfisher; and many other family members and friends.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, please make a donation in his name to the Special Olympics.

David Yott

David Andrew Yott, 70, resident of Seminole County, died Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014 at OU Medical Center.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 10 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Konawa. Adam Leathers will officiate, and burial will follow at Vista Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Harvey Farrell, Bret Nipper, Andrew Sheffield, Dakota Yott, Kenneth Ray, and Joey Sheffield, II.

He was born April 13, 1943 in Asher, Okla. to George Yott and Florence (Herman) Yott.

He worked as a fabricator for a trailer manufacturing company.

He is survived by his wife, Rebecca (Farrell) Murr of the home; one son, David Allen Yott of Konawa, one step-son, Joey Sheffield of Fritch, Tex.; one step-daughter, Trina Sheffield of Durant, Okla.; three brothers, Arlis Yott of Konawa, Darrell Yott of Asher, and Raymond Yott of Macomb, Okla.; three sisters, Lucy of Shawnee, Linda Sue of Shawnee, and Georgie of Oklahoma City; and fourteen grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Lisa Yott; one step-son, Scottie Sheffield; two brothers, Gene and Marvin Yott; and one sister, Ruby Lebo.

Morning-Star Jumper

Morning-Star (Wise) Jumper, age 35 years departed this life Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2014 in Oklahoma City.

She was born March 10, 1979 in Claremore to Harley Jumper and LaNore Wise.

Morning-Star was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.

She loved to work out and eating out with her family at Chilinos and Zios.

Morning-Star is preceded in death by her mother; infant son; and grandmother, Tommie Jumper.

Survivors include father, Harley Jumper of Hollywood, Fla.; children, Rickito Toho of Oklahoma City, Derick Toho of Hollywood Fla., Jason Jumper, Lee John Jumper, Ericka Jumper, Asah Jumper all of Hollywood Fla., Emanuell Jumper of Oklahoma City; granddaughter, Isabella Portillo; sisters Jennifer Jumper and Symphony Jumper of Hollywood, Fla., grandparents Henry Wise and Fannie Harjo and numerous other relatives and friends.

Wake service will be 7 p.m. Sunday at Middle Creek #2 Church with Pastor Houston Tiger, and Pastor George Harjoche officiating.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 8, 2014 at Middle Creek #2 with Pastor Houston Tiger and Pastor George Harjoche officiating and burial will be at Tiger Family Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jason Grasshopper, Joseph Grasshopper, Darren Kernell, Treyce Harjo, Ian Lookingglass, Auburn Lookingglass, Toby Hulbutta, and Wesley Pebworth.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Thunder Wise, Nakota Wise, and Harley Jumper.

Funeral Services are under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home of Wewoka, Oklahoma.

Barbara Adams

In Memory of Barbara Beardmore Adams

May 1, 1940 – Jan. 24, 2014

Barbara Beardmore Adams departed this life on the 21st of Jan. 2014.

She was born on the 1st of May 1940, in Tulsa, Okla. to Mr. and Mrs. Herbert F. Beardmore.

At the age of 7, she moved with her family to Houston, where her father became a Vice-President of Gulf Oil.

She attended Houston schools until she graduated from Lamar High School and then enrolled at the Randolph-Macon Women’s College in Virginia.

As a mathematics major, she completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Texas.

She then became a member of the early generation of computer programmers in Houston.

Barbara worked for Brown and Root, then for M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, and then for Exxon Production Research.

At Exxon, she was associated with research for offshore operations when she met Roy Adams.

Barbara and Roy were married in 1968 and soon departed for his first overseas assignment in Australia.

After another Houston assignment, they began a series of overseas assignments which geographically ranged from North Africa to Scandinavia to Southeast Asia.

Barbara adapted well to these varied environments.

Her husband referred to her as "a good wife, a good mother, and a good homemaker in six countries."

After a total of 23 years overseas, they retired to return to Houston.

Barbara resumed her volunteer work at Texas Children’s Hospital and devoted more than 11, 000 additional hours there, where she was named Volunteer of the Year for 2012, before she encountered serious medical problems early in 2013.

During her years as a volunteer, Barbara served as President of the TCH Volunteer Auxiliary in 2004-2005 and later as Financial Officer for the Auxiliary Board.

She was also President of the Texas Association of Hospital Auxiliaries.

She thus devoted a major portion of her life to the volunteer effort.

Barbara is survived by her husband, Roy Adams and her son, Russell Adams.

The funeral service was conducted at two o’clock in the afternoon on Thursday, the 30th of Jan. 2014 in the Jasek Chapel of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, where Pam Taylor-Glass, Chaplain at Texas Children’s Hospital, officiated.

In lieu of customary remembrances, memorial contributions in recognition of Barbara’s years of service may be directed to Texas Children’s Hospital, Office of Development, 1919 South Braeswood, Ste. 5214, Houston, Tex., 77030.
