Charles Levi Blankenship, 82, died June 11, 2014 at a care facility in Temple, Tex., where he had been a resident the last four years.
He lived in Colorado City, Tex. prior to moving to Temple.
Funeral services were held Saturday, June 14, 2014 2 pm at Lawn Baptist Church, Price Mathieson officiating. Burial will be at Rogers Cemetery following the funeral service.
He was born in Wewoka Okla. to Aaron and Beatrice Adams Blankenship.
He is survived by a daughter, Mary Beth Kindt, of Kalamazo, Mich., and two brothers, Tex of Colorado City, Tex., and Alvis of Lawn, Tex.
He was a veteran, having served in the United States Air Force from 1953 to 1967. He was a pilot, and had the rank of captain. He left the Air Force due to a medical disability.
Michael Blassingame
Graveside service for Michael Dale "Poss" Blassingame, 67, of Shawnee, will be 3 p.m. Tuesday, May 6, 2014, at Resthaven Memorial Park with Lynn Touchette, officiating. Inturnment is under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home.
Dale passed away on April 12, 2014, in Shawnee.
Dale was born May 6, 1946, in Shawnee, Okla., to Robert Lowell and Audry Louise (Shorney) Blassingame.
He retired from Seminole County as a road grater. However, his passion was farming. He loved tractors and cows.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Randy Blassingame; grandparents, Joe and Audry Shorney and George and Ida Blassingame; and special cousin/friend, Donnie Blassingame.
He is survived by two brothers, Warren Blassingame and his wife, Kathy of Tecumseh and Dean Blassingame of Earlsboro; one sister, Sharon Helm and her husband, Gary of Rusk, Tex.; special loved one, Ricia Brooking and her husband, Chad and their children, Mariah, Tariah and Holden Brooking, all of Shawnee; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
The family would like to say a special thank you to everyone at Golden Rule Nursing Home and Heavenly Hospice for all their care and compassion.

Nolene Bobo
Nolene P. Bobo, of Holdenville, passed away on Saturday, March 22, 2014 at the Integris Hospice Home in Oklahoma City at the age of 89.
She was born July 16, 1924 in Sims, Ark. to Walter Roy Summit and Lucinda Jane (Trapp) Summit.
Nolene was a life-long member of the Lone Valley Church of God in Sims, Ark., but attended the First Free Will Baptist Church of Wewoka after she moved to Wewoka in November of 2001.
Upon entering Heritage Village she actively participated in the worship services presented there.
Nolene was a multi-talented individual. She was an accomplished musician, singer and song writer, teacher of music, an artist and taxidermist.
Nolene played several musical instruments, such as guitar, fiddle, piano and accordion.
In her earlier years, along with her twin sister Nadine, she played on two radio programs; one out of Hot Springs, Ark., on KTHS in the 1940’s, and one out of Wewoka, Okla., on KWSH in the 1950’s.
During that same time they co-wrote several songs, including "Honey, Do You Think of Me" which was recorded by The Lonesome Drifter.
Throughout her life, she has participated in many musical programs, such as the Lincoln Country Hayride in Prague, Okla., the weekly music show in Mt. Ida, Ark. and even programs presented by the Allen Band at the Heritage Village Nursing Home in Holdenville, Okla.
She felt blessed to be privileged to join in with the Allen Band which she thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated. She looked forward to each opportunity to play with them.
She married Andrew Clifton Bobo on Nov. 24, 1970, and she and Clifton wrote a number of gospel songs that were published by Baxter Quartet Co, Stamps Baxter, Vaughan and Jeffress Music Companies.
They regularly attended state and regional singing conventions at which many of their songs were performed.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifton Bobo; her parents, Walter and Lucinda Summit; four sisters, Audrey McDonald, Sylvia Mabry, Ruby Anderson, and Wilma Bissell; and three brothers, Gordon Summit, Daniel Summit and an infant brother.
She is survived by her twin sister, Nadine Qualls of Wewoka, and Nadine’s four children, who looked upon her as their second mother, Travis Qualls and wife Suzanne of Wewoka, Afton Qualls and wife Lynda of Maumelle, Ark., Anita Larney and husband Ben of Holdenville, and Sheila Spring and husband Jerry of Wewoka.
She is also survived by ten other nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly, as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She will be missed by all who loved her.
Services will be held Wednesday, March 26 at 2 p.m. at the First Free Will Baptist Church located at 4th and Patton in Wewoka. Interment will be at the Oakwood Cemetery in Wewoka. Rev. Allen Moore and Rev. Earl Scroggins are the officiating ministers.
Pallbearers are Kenneth Johnson, Mike Clemmer, John Davidson, Adam Yandell, Landon Qualls, and Glen Trapp.
Honorary pallbearers are Raymond Summit, Glen Summit, Jodie Bissell, Travis Qualls, Afton Qualls, David Qualls, Kevin Qualls, Rob Morris, and members of the Allen Band.
Services are under direction of Fisher Funeral Home of Holdenville.
Leasa Boggs
Leasa Diane Boggs, 53, former longtime Seminole resident died Saturday, May 3, 2014 in Forney, Tex.
Leasa was born Aug. 29, 1960 in Shawnee, Okla. to Norman Clay and Joyce Faye (Sandefur) Boggs.
Leasa was a registered nurse for many years working locally at Pioneer Nursing Home, Seminole Municipal Hospital, Misson Hill Hospital in Shawnee, Okla. and more recently in several Emergency Rooms in the Dallas, Tex. area with her last position at Texas Regional Medical Center.
She received her associate’s degree from Seminole State College and a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Nursing from East Central University in Ada, Okla.
Leasa was a member of the Church of Christ in Seminole, Okla. and will always be remembered for her beautiful smile and the way she touched lives through her caring services in nursing.
Leasa is survived by her parents, Norman and Joyce Boggs of Seminole; daughter, Alex Houston and her husband Drew of Dallas, Tex.; her sister, Linda Gary and her husband Terry of Tulsa, Okla.; her grandchildren, A.J., Austin and Andrew Houston; her nephews, Joshua and Curtis Gary of Tulsa; and her extended family Justin and Amanda Shaw of Forney, Tex., Ashley Quinton and a host of nurses who loved her and helped care for her.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Friday May 9, 2014 at the Church of Christ in Seminole, 12040 Highway 99 north, with Chris Stinnett officiating. Burial will follow at Tecumseh Mission Cemetery in Tecumseh, Okla.
The family will receive friends and family at a special visitation, Thursday, May 8, 2014, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
Jessie Boller
Former Wewoka resident Jessie Dawn Boller, age 32 passed away on Monday, Dec. 30, 2013 at the Allen Presbyterian Hospital after a short illness.
Jessie was born on April 7, 1981 in Wewoka, Okla. to the late Russell Brad Bowden her adopted father and Debora Gayle Sneed.
Jessie graduated from McAlester High School and attended East Central University in Ada, Okla. where she received a of Bachelor of Arts degree.
At present she was employed by Real Page Software as a staff trainer.
Jessie loved to run in marathons and was a body builder.
She was a very successful businesswoman and had been the founder of "Not One More Time" for abused women.
She was a great mother to her two children and a mentor for young women and very active in fundraiser.
She loved to go to Falls Creek.
Jessie is preceded in death by her adopted father, Russell Brad Bowden; grandfather, H.B. Calvert; and grandmother, Janice Belshe.
Survivors include her two children, Colby Tad Bowden and Kaden Charles Boller; biological father, Jimmy Wayne Calvert; and step mother, Janna Calvert; mother, Debora Gayle (Sneed) Calvert; and step-father, Terry Calvert; sister, Shanna Calvert Aranda of Oklahoma City; brothers Byron Calvert of Maud, and Austin Calvert; maternal grandparents, Glenna Sneed, Don and Linda Sneed; paternal grandparents, Jan Calvert, Richard and Ruth Ann Bowden; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She will be greatly missed by all that knew her.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014 at New Life Church Rev. Sam Ketchum and Pastor Tommy Azlin will officiate. Burial will follow at the Oakwood Cemetery in Wewoka.
Services are under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home in Wewoka.
David Boren
David Carl "Dave" Boren, 49, of Park City, Kans., formerly of Tecumseh, Okla. died Thursday, Aug. 7, 2014 at his home.
He was born Nov. 5, 1964 to Jesse Carl and Sharon Kay (Hester) Boren in Seminole, Okla.
He was raised in Maud, Okla. where he attended Maud Public Schools through the fourth grade until his family moved to Tecumseh. He attended Tecumseh Public Schools until he graduated in 1983 from Tecumseh High School.
After graduation he attended Oklahoma University for three years. He graduated from UCO on May 8, 1992 with a Bachelor of Science degree.
He worked as an Industrial Hygiene Consultant for Goodyear in Lawton, Okla. and Tyler, Tex.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jesse Carl Boren.
He is survived by his mother, Sharon Kay Boren of Tecumseh; brother, Darren Boren of Shawnee; and other family and friends.
Visitation will began at 12 noon, Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2014 and continued through service time.
Service will be 11 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 14, 2014 at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with Brett McKnight, Tecumseh Church of Christ officiating under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
Anna Bost
Anna Louise Bost, 69, of Wister went to be with Jesus on Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2014.
She was born Feb. 19, 1945, in Seminole, Okla., to Vernon and Leavada (Richards) Elliott.
She was a wonderful mother and grandmother.
Her greatest joys were her grandchildren and her three little grand-dogs, whom she called "her babies."
Anna is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Tom Bost; and brothers, Jimmy D. Elliott and Bobby R. Elliott.
She is survived by two children, JoAnna Means and husband Johnny of Wister and Danny Bailey of Fort Smith; three grandchildren, Justin and Treasure Means of Stillwater, Okla., Kelsie Means of Wister and Jake Bailey of Panama; and a very special daughter, Tommie Holson Adams, whom she loved as her own; sisters, Linda Thompson, Lois Blankenship and husband Bill, all of Marion, Ill.; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, loved ones and many friends.
Graveside service was held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, 2014 at Fanshawe Cemetery, with the Rev. Brad Hill officiating, interment followed.
Pallbearers were Johnny Means, Bill Blankenship, Justin Means, Kelsie Means and Danny Bailey.
Virgil Boswell
Virgil Lee Boswell was born on Aug. 1, 1917 near Asher, Okla.
He died Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2014 after a long battle with heart ailments.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary K. (Hays) Boswell; his first born child, Virgil Lee Boswell, Jr.; his parents, Bert and Artie (Davis) Boswell; and his three brothers, Robert, Hairl, and Leemon Boswell.
He is survived by his three children, Katherine Vigna of Hendersonville, Tenn., Richard Boswell of Skiatook, Okla. and Phillip Boswell of Avant, Okla.; seven grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.
He was drafted into the Army in 1942 and was stationed in Washington State, California, and finally sent to Hawaii after Pearl Harbor was bombed.
He returned to Seminole, Okla. in 1945 and went to work for an oil field company there.
During 1959 he was transferred to Alma, Okla. and in 1963 was again transferred to Avant, Okla. where he worked until he retired at the age of 69.
Visitation will be held on Friday, Jan. 24 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturday Jan. 25 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday 1 p.m. to 6 p.m at the Peters-Stumpff Funeral Home; 14206 North Cincinnati, Skiatook, OK 74070.
Services will be held in Skiatook, at the Peters-Stumpff Funeral Home Chapel on Monday Jan. 27 at 10 a.m. with Pastor Vince Boone officiating.
Graveside service will take place at Little Cemetery north of Seminole at 2 p.m. on Jan. 27. Friends are invited to join the family in saying goodbye to Virgil.
Interment in Little Cemetery is under the directions of Peters-Stumpff Funeral Home.
Casket bearers for the service will be Joshua Morgan, Aaron Morgan, Eugene Morgan, Rick Boswell, Jimmy Ferguson and Phillip Lee Boswell.
