Jerry Don Bounds, age 62 and a life-time resident of Konawa, Okla., passed away on Saturday, Nov. 29, 2014 at Integris Medical Center in Seminole, Okla.
A graveside service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2014 at Vamoosa Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa.
Phillip Bentley will officiate.
Pallbearers are Joe Morgan, Shane Impson, Frank Kelly, Steven Sellars, James Heard, and David Green, Jr. Honorary pallbearers are Shawn Roberts and Calvin Harjo.
Jerry was born in Konawa on Oct. 16, 1952 to Tom Loye Bounds and Barbara Anna (Wheeler) Bounds.
He graduated from Konawa High School and married Rosalie Rains on April 26, 1979 in Konawa.
He was an oilfield pumper and a very hard worker who loved to spend time with his family.
He is survived by three sons, Jeremy Bounds of Konawa, Jonathon Bounds, also of Konawa, and Raymond Howard of Shawnee, Okla.; two daughters, Sherry Bentley of Tex., Ladonna Howard of Konawa; four brothers, Richard Bounds of Konawa, Glendale Bounds of Konawa, Jimmy Bounds of Ponca City, Okla., and Clifford "Butch" Bounds of Perry, Okla.; six sisters, Lucille Dotson of Oklahoma City, Wanda Bryce of Konawa, Ronda Fortelney of Bethel Acres, Okla., Mary Miner of Virginia, Brenda Campbell of Tulsa, Okla., and Carylon Hughes of Pauls Valley Okla.; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Barbara Bounds; his wife, Rosalie Bounds on Feb.24, 2012; one sister, Phyliss Ward; and one step-son.
Isam Bowlegs Jr.
Isam Edward "Johnny" Bowlegs Jr. of Sasakwa, Okla. passed away Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at age 70 years.
He was born Dec. 17, 1943 in Wewoka, Okla. to the late Isam Bowlegs Sr. and Eula Mae Harjo.
Wake service will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, May 23, 2014 at Stout-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel.
The body will be taken to the home at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 25, 2014.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday, May 26, 2014 at Bird Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Dorsey Nero and Pastor George Harjochee officiating and burial to follow at Bowlegs-Harjo Cemetery.
Johnny was a graduate of Capitol Hill High School and later worked at Tinker Air Force Base.
He served in the US Marines from Feb. 24, 1966 to August 1968.
Earning one silver metal, two bronze, and three purple hearts during the Vietnam War.
Johnny loved doing cryptograms, watching Oklahoma City Thunder, and going to Pat's Cafe in Holdenville, and visiting with friends.
He was a proud Marine and loved to tell stories of his service duties.
He always tried to make life better for his family. He enjoyed feeding and watching the birds.
Preceding Johnny in death are his parents; sister Eulene Miller Bowlegs; and niece Diedre Postoak.
Survivors include daughter Johnnice Lynn Bowlegs of Norman; sister Bessie Bowlegs of Clewiston, Fla.; half-sister Laura Osborn of Elk City; four nephews and two nieces, Johnny Ray Wilson, Sasakwa, Dexter Postoak of Sasakwa, Chris M. Haney of Labelle, Fla., Pare Dolph of Okla., Marlene Bess Miller of Sasakwa, and Juanna Martin of Shawnee and a host of other relatives and friends. A very close friend Debbie Clark.
Pall Bearers will be Johnny Ray Wilson, Chris McHaney, Dexter Postoak, John Paul Coon, and Marvin Cargill.
Honorary Pall Bearers will be Hairm Raulston, Curtis Factor, Bruce Eddy, and Alex Caballero.

Effie Bowman
Graveside services for Effie Evelina Bowman, 94, of Ada, are 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Wetumka Cemetery, Rev. Bill Black will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Thursday at Criswell Funeral Home in Ada.
Mrs. Bowman died Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2014, at an Ada nursing home.
She was born June 22, 1919 in Rosetta, Ark. to James Franklin and Stella O. Bailey Moore.
She married Omer Cecil Bowman on Jan. 30, 1939. He preceded her in death on Nov. 19, 2000 at Ada. They were married for 62 years.
Mrs. Bowman was a homemaker and a member of the First Christian Church in Seminole and Ada.
Survivors include her children, Zane Bowman and wife, Clarice of Ada, Wes Bowman and wife, Mary of Lone Grove, Don Bowman and wife, Pat of Guthrie, Robert Bowman and wife, Barbara, Milton, Fla., and Debbie Choate and husband, Mike of Ada; three sisters, Darlene Young of Okanogon, Wash., Pat Dorhorst of Hay Springs, Nebr., and Frankie Johnson of Crowley, La.; three half-brothers, Sammy Moore, David Moore and Paul Moore of Wynne, Ark.; eight grandchildren, Garth, Lance, Kelleya, Charlie, David, JonMark, Lauren and Lindsay; eight great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one brother; and eight sisters.
Bearers will be her grandsons.

Doyle Boyd
Topeka — Doyle "Gene" Boyd, 78, died May 30, 2014.
He was born Sept. 16, 1935, in Holdenville, Okla., to Lige and Etta (Cummings) Boyd.
He graduated from Wewoka High School in Wewoka, Okla. and later attended Junior college in Gainesville, Tex.
On March 24, 1957, he married Helen Blakeslee in Great Bend.
She survives.
He was self-employed, owning restaurants, nursing homes, car dealerships, and also worked as a financial advisor.
He is survived by his wife, Helen of the home; his children, Tammie Dowty, Wichita; Matthew Boyd, Los Angeles, Calif.; Aaron Boyd, Lomita, Calif.; and Stanley Boyd, Bangalore, India; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Joy McCracken, Sacramento, Calif.; and a brother, Donald Boyd, Bakersfield, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his parents; six brothers; and one sister.
Funeral services were held at the First Assembly of God Church in Topeka, Kans. Burial followed at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery.

Joycette Boyd
Joycette Boyd of Wewoka, was born March 14, 1929 and died on May 19, 2014 at the age of 85.
She worked at the Johnson Dairy Cup and Wewoka Public Cafeteria for many years.
Proceeding her in death are husband, Dawson J (Tooter) Davis, Jessie Boyd; her father, Charles Degge; mother, Opal Degge; and brother, Bill Degge.
She is survived by three sisters and one brother, Cecil Degge of Wewoka, Elaine Carter of Odessa, Tex., Faye Sallee of Arkansas, and Pat Davis of Wewoka; two children, Gary Davis of Wewoka, and Kathy Madron of Moore, Okla.; several grandchildren; many great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
Pall Bearers will be Michael Davis, Scotty Davis, Jessie Davis, Ryan Hickerson Davis, Tommy Taylor, and Tyler Davis.
Honorary pallbearers will be other grandsons and great-grandsons.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 23, 2014 at Stout-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel with Dewayne Davis officiating and burial to follow at Oakwood Cemetery.

Constance Bradley
Constance Jean Bradley, 70, Wewoka resident died Monday, June 9, 2014 in a Midwest City Nursing Center.
She was born Sept. 15, 1943 in Richmond, Calif.
She was a homemaker.
Preceding her in death are her parents, Mervin and Mattie Jean Stowe; husband, William Lee Bradley Sr.; brother, Brian Stowe; and sister, Marion Giles.
Survivors include children Patricia McCormick of Wewoka, William Bradley of Holdenville, Tammy Justice of Maud, Robert Bradley of Tex. and Claude Bradley of Wewoka; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Ross Stowe and Bruce Stowe.
Graveside memorial service will be 1 p.m. Friday June 13, 2014 at Crossroads Cemetery north of Calvin, Okla.
Joe Branham
Joe John Branham, 72, longtime Seminole resident, died Wednesday, May 21, 2014 in Seminole.
Joe was born on Aug. 25, 1941 in Tulsa, Okla. to parents, J.Q. and Pauline (Miller) Branham.
Joe came to Seminole in 1972 from Tulsa to become the owner and operator of the Double Cola Bottling plant in Seminole. Joe owned and operated the plant till 1981.
Since coming to Seminole he has been very active in Civic and community affairs.
Joe served as a Seminole Police Department reserve officer for over 25 years, the Seminole Civil Defense and Civil Air Patrol, being a airplane pilot, allowed him to help in many search and rescue operations, he was also a member of the Kiwanis Club, Seminole Jaycees, Seminole Bass Club.
Joe loved fishing, planes, boats and motorcycles.
After he retired from the Double Cola Plant, he became a self-employed contract oilfield pumper.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Seminole.
Joe is survived by Carol Branham of Seminole; his son, Jay Branham of Seminole; his daughter and son-in-law Debbie and Jerald Coym of Seminole; and a special cousin that he grew up with, Ron Bradshaw and his wife Carolyn of Tulsa, Okla.
He is also survived by two grandchildren, Nicole Little and husband Josh Little of Seminole, and John Branham of Seminole and one great grandson Parker Little.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, May 24, 2014 at the First United Methodist Church on Wrangler Blvd. in Seminole with Rev. Gary O. Wilburn officiating. Burial will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens east of Seminole.
The family will receive friends and family at a family visitation on Friday evening from 5: p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Swearingen Funeral Home.

Doris Brewer
Doris June Southwick Brewer, 85, a longtime resident of Seminole and Tahlequah, Okla. went to be with our Lord and Savior on Nov. 3, 2014 at 12:19 p.m.
Doris was born on December 9, 1928 in Okfuskee, Okla. to Curtis and Florence Southwick.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Merle Ray Brewer, grandson Andrew Davis and brother Calvin Southwick.
Doris was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, who enjoyed music, sewing, gardening and large family gatherings at their home on the lake.
Doris felt her greatest accomplishment was raising five successful and loving daughters.
She was a graduate of Okmulgee High School in 1947.
She and Merle Brewer were married on April 24, 1947 and together they shared 47 wonderful years.
They resided in Seminole, Okla. for 35 years, then upon retirement moved to Tahlequah, Okla.
Survivors include, five daughters and sons-in-law, Judy McDaniel, Flower Mound, Tex.; Gwendolyn and Glen Rowan, Ft. Gibson, Okla.; Jo Ellen and Gary Brown, Burneyville, Okla.; Rebecca and Michael Harte, Rockwall, Texas; Julene and Jason Chambers, Seminole, Okla.; ten grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren; two brothers, Harold Southwick of Okmulgee and Charles Southwick of Harrison, Ark.; three sisters, Virginia Brown of Okmulgee, Okla., Mary Yeager of Okmulgee, Okla. and Carolyn Parker of Morris, Okla. and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation and reception will be held at Swearingen Funeral Home at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 6, 2014.
