Thurman Hall Clopton, 91 of Holdenville passed away on June 29, 2014.
He was born on April 18, 1923 in Stonewall, Okla. to Steve Pinky Clopton and Lillie Estelle (Ingram) Clopton.
He attended Non Public Schools in Non, Okla.
Thurman served his country in the United States Horse Calvary. He was a heavy weight boxer while in the military.
He was a member of the Choctaw Nation.
Thurman married Ruby Faye Sharpe on March 23, 1945 in Holdenville.
He worked for many years in the oilfield industry as a tool pusher.
Thurman was best known for his raising and training of game hens and coon dogs.
He loved fishing, deer hunting and playing pool.
More than anything, Thurman loved Ruby.
Preceding Thurman in death are his wife, Ruby; parents; sisters, Lucille Davenport and Sue Long, brother Goldman Clopton.
Survivors include his children, Diana Smith of Mesa, Ariz.; grandchildren, Carla Shaw and husband Brian of Pagosa Springs, Colo.; William S. Little of Mesa; great-grandchild, Jake; brother, Claude Bill Clopton of Holdenville; sisters, Ruby Ann Snyder of Seminole, Velma Lee Berryman of Lawton, and Jean Cobb of Choctaw, as well as a host of other nieces and nephews and other family and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at the Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel in Holdenville, Okla. Interment will follow at the Holdenville Cemetery in Holdenville.
Services are under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home in Holdenville.
Marvin Clymer
Marvin G. "Bo" Clymer, 90, longtime Seminole resident died, Monday, March 24, 2014 in Shawnee, Okla.
Bo was born on Feb. 5, 1924 to Iva (Reavis) and Grover Clymer, at Pernell, Oklahoma.
Bo was active in the Seminole and surrounding area oilfields, which he loved and worked at until his death.
He served in the U.S. Navy as a Coxswan Mate from Jan. 5, 1944 to March 3, 1946 in active duty during World War II in the Philippines.
Bo was a member of the Walnut Street Church of Christ in Seminole.
He married Mary H. (Arnold) Emerson on Aug. 28, 1964.
Bo is survived by his wife Mary Clymer of Seminole; one sister, Bonnie Gardner of Las Vegas, Nev.; one special sister-in-law, Sally Christopher of Seminole; his nieces, Sharon Murray-Sliva of Orlando, Fla., Sue Arnold, Jackie Acree, and Jamie H. Frazier along with numerous other relatives and friends.
Graveside services will be held at Maple Grove Cemetery in Seminole at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, March 26, 2014 in Seminole with Bobby Allen officiating.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
Bobby Coffman
Bobby "Bob" Coffman, former Prague resident died Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at Meeker, Okla. at the age of 76.
He was born in Wewoka, Okla. on Nov. 29, 1937 to Robert Edward Coffman and Nellie May (Sumpter) Coffman.
After graduating from Seminole High School in 1955, he attended and graduated from Oklahoma University.
He was employed as a Government General Contractor with Tinker Air Force Base.
He is survived by four sons, Robert Coffman of Sugarland, Tex., Keith Coffman of Katy, Tex., Blaine Coffman of Colleyville, Tex. and Brett Coffman currently stationed in Germany while serving in the United States Army; and 12 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Nellie Coffman.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 23, 2014 at Little Cemetery Chapel with Rev. Doyle Long officiating.
Funeral services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole.
Bertha Coker-Lynch
Bertha Coker Lynch was born Dec. 3, 1924 in Spaulding, Okla. to Bill and Ethel Toy Horton Conger.
She died Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at Wewoka Care Center at the age of 89.
She married Roy Coker on Dec. 1, 1941.
On June 28, 1977 she married Joe Lynch.
Preceding her in death are her parents; two husbands; three brothers, Tex Conger, Ed Conger, Bill Conger; three children, Glenna Sue, Barbara Kay, and Scott Lancer Coker.
Survivors include children, Andrea Dabbs of Wewoka, Doris Honeycutt of Shawnee, Eddie Coker of Seminole, Connie Whitlock of Wewoka, Sherry Keesee of Wewoka; 11 grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jack Williams, Bobby Davis, Billy Wayne Robison, Vance Pennington, Judge Sawyer, and Keith Sawyer.
Honorary pallbearers will be James Keesee, Andrew Keesee, David Coker, R.J. Coker, and Clay Chaney.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday, April 21, 2014 at Stout-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Mark Hennen officiating and burial to follow at Oakwood Cemetery.

Loretta Cole

Loretta May (Ingram) Cole, age 69 and a resident of Konawa, Okla., passed away from this life on Thursday, Aug. 28, 2014 in Midwest City, Okla.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 1, 2014 at the PAC Building located at Konawa High School. Rev. Jim McMillan, Pastor of First Baptist Church of Konawa will officiate. Rev. Ed Bray, Pastor of Cross Timbers Church of Konawa will assist. Burial will follow at Vista Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Tommy Sexton, Roy Hicks, Mike Jackson, Roy Gerhart, Terry Davis, and Shane Odell.
Honorary Pallbearers are Charles Carpenter, Altus Boren, Johnny Sharber, and Brian Akerman.
Loretta was born on Aug. 31, 1944 in Konawa to Jim Ingram and Jewell (McAnally) Ingram.
She was a graduate of Vamoosa High School.
She married John Edward Cole on Sept. 15, 1962 at Seminole.
They have lived in Konawa since 1983, and she was a member of the Vamoosa Baptist Church.
Loretta loved her family very much, and she enjoyed painting, bird watching, gardening, and restoring, owning, and showing classic cars.
Most of all, she loved watching her granddaughters at their sporting and school events.
She is survived by her husband of fifty-one years, John Edward Cole of the home; two daughters, Sharetta Walker and husband, Billy of Konawa, and Lana Jesse and husband, Tommy also of Konawa; three grandchildren, Caitlyn Elizabeth Jesse, Chloe Anne Jesse, and Camryn Cole Jesse.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Jewell Ingram; two sisters, Delouris Harris, and Mary Perry; and one brother, James Ingram.
Richard Cole
Richard (Rico) W. Cole, resident of rural Pleasant Grove School community southwest of Seminole passed away April 13, 2014 peacefully at his home surrounded by family and church family after a valiant battle with cancer. He was 56 years old.
He was born Oct. 1, 1957 in Seminole, Okla. to Charlie W. Cole and Hattie M. Coker Cole.
He was a member of the Seminole Nation Ocese Band and the Deer Clan.
He was baptized on June 23, 1959 at the First Indian Presbyterian "Hilltop" Church of Wewoka.
He was preceded in death by his parents; maternal grandparents, Richmond W. and Emma (Sewell) Coker and paternal grandmother Lucinda Franks Taylor.
He is survived by his children, Chad Cole of Konawa, Ashley Cole of Moore, Chase Cole of Norman and their mother, Clarissa Cole; Lainey Cole and Austin Satepauhoodle of Shawnee, Casey Cole of Seminole, their mother Lisa Billie of Seminole and grandson Austin R. Satepauhoodle of Shawnee; his sisters and brothers, Ella M. and Al Colman of Seminole, Beverly and Joe Manley of McLoud, Sonny and Pinky Cole of Oklahoma City and Ronnie Cole of the home; nieces include Christina Cole of Oklahoma City and Cassandra Cole of Holdenville; nephews include Trevor Cole, Terrance Manley, and Joe J. Manley; great nephews include Michael Cole and Greyson Cole.
He graduated from Pleasant Grove High School in 1975.
He enlisted with the U.S. Marine Corp in August 1976. He was a member of the 3rd Battalion, 7th Marines, Marine Corps Base, Camp Pendleton.
He was stationed at the Marine Barracks Naval Station Subic Bay, Philippines for a period of one year and returned to Camp Pendleton and honorably discharged on Sept. 26, 1979.
He then transferred to Marine Corps Reserve on Sept. 27, 1979 until he was honorably discharged on Aug. 25, 1982.
He was a Rife Sharpshooter and a recipient of the Good Conduct Medal.
He graduated from Seminole State College with an Associate of Science Degree and attended East Central State College for a period of one year majoring in Environmental Health Science before pursuing a career in Environmental Health and Hazardous Waste Removal profession with private industry.
He was a humble, kind, humorous and a thoughtful man, who loved his children and grandson very much.
He enjoyed family and social gatherings with his children, grandson, relatives and friends.
He was well known for his outdoor grilling skills and was called the "Grill Master" by his children. He treasured his play time with his little Grandson, Austin.
He was proud of his Marine Corp heritage and was proud of his service to his country. From the day he took his oath and earned the right to call himself a Marine, he remained a Marine until the end, through his demonstration of inner strength and courage in his trials and battle with cancer.
His faith in God and Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior never wavered.
His sense of humor and mischievous smile will be missed by all.
Wake services were conducted on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at 6 p.m., officiated by Kelly Tiger, Jr.
Funeral services will be on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at 2 p.m., officiated by Kelly Tiger, Jr. and J. C. Simpson at the Seminole Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel.
Pallbearers will be Terrance Manley, Frank Sewell, Austin Satepauhoodle, Curtis Smith, Troy "Butch" Yargee, and Robert Fixico.
Honorary pallbearers will be Al Colman, Joe Manley, Joe Jay Manley, Trevor Cole, Dennis Billie, David Jones, Winston Postoak and the Seminole Nation Honor/Color Guards.
