Frances L. Harper of Earlsboro, Okla., passed away on Saturday, Nov. 8, 2014.
She was 85 years old.
She was born in Clarendon, Tex.
She was preceded in death by father, Clarence Peabody; her mother Francis Etheredge; brothers C.M., Garland, Ivo, and David; and sisters, Nelda, Ruby, Leona, and Leola.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Dale S. Harper, Sr. of the home; son and daughter-in-law Robert & Linda Taylor of Wichita Falls, Texas; daughter and son-in-law Sherry & Larry Penick of Durango, Colorado; daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Randy Mathes of Landstuhl, Germany; son and daughter-in-law Dale & Lisa Harper of Jones, Oklahoma; 9 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren; many beloved nieces and nephews, other extended family, and a special place in her heart for nephew, Timmy Miner.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2014 at Resthaven Funeral Home, Shawnee Okla.
Jeffery Harris
Nov. 1, 1957 - June 24, 2014
Jeffery K. "Jeff" Harris, 56 year old, loving husband to Theresa J. Harris left this world to meet our Father in Heaven June 24, 2014.
Jeff left behind his precious BFF granddaughter, Alexis Marie C. Southern, they were never apart.
Jeff was born on Nov. 1, 1957 in Seminole, Okla. to parents, Jerald Donald Harris and Mary Katheryn (Harber) Harris.
Jeff graduated from Seminole High School in 1975 and went on to earn his degree in criminal justice at Seminole State College.
He was currently working as a High Risk Transport Officer with the state of Oklahoma, office of Juvenile Affairs in Wewoka, Okla.
Jeff also served in the United States Army where he had earned the rank of Sergeant and had served during two wars including Desert Storm.
He was Honorably discharged after 21 years of service.
Jeff leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 17 years, Theresa Jean (Gibson) Harris of the home; his mother, Mary Katheryn (Harber) Harris of Seminole, Okla; his father, Jerald Donald Harris of Seminole, Okla.; two sons, Russell Wayne Harris of Minnesota, Jeffrey J. Harris and his wife Tara who are in the United States Navy stationed in Japan; four step-sons, Gregory Allen Southern of Seminole, Okla.; Richard Paul Wayne Southern and his wife Michele Renee of Maud, Okla.; Matthew "Big Dog" Willis Southern of St. Louis, Okla.; Austin Jarod Lee Southern of St. Louis, Okla.; two brothers, Jerald Donald Harris and his wife Marta of Round Rock, Tex.; Mark Wayne S. Harris of Seminole, Okla.; one sister, Kim Renee Ngyuen and her husband Mason of Houston, Tex.; six grandchildren, Alexis Marie Southern, Marshall Harris, Oliver Harris, Russell Harris, Raya Harris, and Josleyn Harris.
Jeff is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, August and Lorine Harris and his maternal grandparents, Russell and Cleta Harber. He is also preceded in death by one sister, Pam Harris and by three uncles, Sonny Harber, Cotton Harris and Bob Harris and his wife Lois.
Memorial services are scheduled for 3 p.m., Monday, June 30, 2014 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, Okla.
Lester Harris
Funeral services for Lester James Harris will be held Saturday, March 1, 2014 at 2 p.m. at the Parks Brothers Funeral Home Chapel in Okemah. Interment will follow at the Little Cemetery in Seminole County.
He was born April 8, 1927 in Hughes County, Oklahoma to Newt Harris and Elva Jane (Cook) Harris.
He died Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2014 in Cromwell, Okla. at the age of 86. He was a longtime resident of the Cromwell area.
He and Bernice Martin were married Feb. 14, 1973.
He worked as a farmer and rancher.
Also preceding him in death were his parents; two brothers, Walter and Wilburn Harris; and two sisters, Willie Morphis and Bessie Graham.
Survivors include one step son; one sister, Myrtle Morphis of Oklahoma City; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation will be Friday, Feb. 28, from 8:30 a.m. until 8 p.m. at the Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Okemah, Okla.
Serving as pallbearers will be David Spillers, Richard Underwood, Ryan Spillers, Francis Underwood, Gervis Morphis and Johnny Morphis.
Services will be under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Okemah and officiated by Rev. James Baldridge and assisted by Bill Chesser.
Mary Harris
Mary Kathryn (Harber) Harris, 79, lifelong Seminole, Okla. resident, died Monday, July 14, 2014, at McAlester Regional Hospital.
She was born Dec. 21, 1933, in Seminole to James Russell Harber and Cleta Ellen (Kleckner) Harber.
She graduated from Seminole High School in 1951 and went on to further her education at Oklahoma State University before marrying Jerald Donald Harris on Aug. 29, 1954, in Seminole, Okla.
She had worked a number of jobs through the years including the Ada newspaper, the Seminole Producer, Cablevision and H&R Block.
She is survived by her husband, Jerald Donald Harris of the home; two sons, Jerald Donald Harris, Jr. of Round Rock, Tex., Mark Wayne Harris of Seminole, Okla.; one daughter, Kim Renee Nguyen of Pearland, Tex.; one sister, Sue McBride of Enid, Okla.; five grandsons; three great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Cleta Harber; son, Jeffrey Keith Harris; daughter, Pamela Kay Harris; and brother, Jim Harber.
A memorial service is scheduled for 2 p.m., Friday, July 18, 2014 at the Historic Strother Chapel located in Maple Grove Cemetery in Seminole, Okla. Don Gill will officiate the service.
Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
Maurice Harris
Maurice Harris was born May 17, 1955 to Lucy Mae Harris and Bobby Neal Williams in Seminole, Okla.
He grew up in Earlsboro, Okla. where he attended and graduated from Earlsboro Public Schools in 1974.
He served in the U.S. Army for six years.
He worked for the city of Tecumseh for 14 years., then transferred to The City of Shawnee where he worked for 11 years.
He retired and shortly after retirement he began working for the Maintenance Department for Citizen Pottawatomie Nation.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Arthur and Lizzie Harris; his mother, Lucy Mae Harris; father, Bobby Neal Williams; brother, Marvin Harris; sister, Charlene Harris; and one son.
He is survived by his wife, Audrey L. Harris; 14 children, Maurica Harris of Shawnee, Maurice Harris Jr. of Houston, Tex., Arion Harris of Midwest City, Okla., Denzel Harris of the home, Nedra Johnson of Oklahoma City, Treva Kennedy of Oklahoma City, Travis Kennedy of Shawnee, Travon Kennedy of Del City, Okla. 'Travoryea Kennedy of Shawnee, Clarissa Harris of Tulsa, Okla. Starriah Jones of Ada, Okla., Fannie Jones of Norman, Okla. and Kodi Conway of Oklahoma City.; two brothers, Rodney Harris of Spencer, Okla. and Michael Williams; four sisters, Irma Cheathem of Earlsboro, Darlene Johnson of Earlsboro, Veronica Bernard of Earlsboro, and Gerna Williams; and 24 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Saturday, March 29, 2014 at 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Shawnee, located at 10th and Union. Rev. Michael Harris will officiate the service. Interment will follow at Earlsboro Cemetery with military honors.

James Harrison
James William "Bill" Harrison, 87, Maud area resident, died Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014 at Shawnee, Okla.
He was born Aug. 22, 1926 in Okmulgee, Okla. to Ruth Rosetta(Travis) and Lee Wood Harrison.
He served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II and Korean War, he attended schools as a young boy in the area and after his military service, returned to graduate at the age of 43.
He worked for the U.S. Government at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma City, Okla. as a supervisor.
He also worked as a truck driver until the age of 78.
He is survived by his son, Raymond Harrison of Van Alstyne, Tex.; three grandchilddren and two great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Rosalie A. Payne; and his brother, Lee Wood Harrison, Jr.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday Jan. 6, 2014 at Cummings Cemetery in Maud with United States Navy Military honors.
Viewing will be held from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 5 at Knight-Swearingen Funeral Home in Maud.

Homer Hawkins Jr.
Homer Hawkins, Jr. was born Sept. 16, 1927 in Seminole, Okla. to Homer and Teddie Hawkins.
He died Saturday, Aug. 30, 2014 in Okemah, Okla. at the age of 86.
At the age of 15, he joined the Navy during the height of WWII. He was an aircraft mechanic on aircraft carriers.
Later, when he was commissioned, he earned his wings as a navigator flying observation and surveillance aircraft during the Korean War, Vietnam War and during the Cold War.
He retired as a Lieutenant Commander.
He is preceded in death by two children, Linda and William Hawkins, along with his parents and step-father, Ira C. Chance.
He is survived by daughter, Judy Hawkins and a grandson.
Per his request; there will be no services and his and his daughter, Linda’s, cremains will be spread on his property north of Cromwell.
All arrangements were handled by Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Okemah, Okla.
Floyd Hayes
Floyd James Hayes, resident of the Cromwell, Okla. area died Friday, Jan. 24, 2014 at his home at the age of 73.
He was born Dec. 7, 1940 in Oklahoma City, Okla. to Carroll Morris Hayes and Lois (Davidson) Hayes.
He married Donna Kay (Elkins) Hayes on Feb. 26, 1960 in Del City, Okla.
He retired in 1995 from J.C. Penny where he worked as a Major Appliance and Refrigeration Tech.
He is survived by his wife of the home, Donna Kay; one daughter, Teresa Poston of Wewoka, Okla.; one brother, William Hayes of Oklahoma; four grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Mark Hayes.
Visitation with the family will be Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2014 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
Cremation service is under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole.
