Elmer Haynes, 79, Seminole resident, died March 2, 2014 in St. Anthony’s Shawnee Hospital in Shawnee, Okla.
He was born March 1, 1935 in Henryetta, Okla. to Henry Clay Haynes and Nicey (Jacobs) Haynes.
He worked for the City of Prague, Okla., as a water meter reader, Prague Hospital, as a maintenance supervisor, for many years, and for Dolly Madison Company in California in his younger years.
He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy and a member of the Creek/Seminole Nations of Oklahoma.
He married Roxie Shirlene (Miller) Haynes on Nov. 16, 1956; she preceded him in death on May 19, 2011.
He married Christine (Fish) Haynes on Oct. 19, 2012 in Meeker, Okla.
He is survived by his wife, Christine Haynes of Seminole; sons, Delbert Haynes of Seminole and James Haynes of Prague; step-son, Keith Dinwiddie of Edmond, Okla.; his daughters, Karen Littlehead of Shawnee, Okla., Andrea Haynes of Prague, Delberta Vallejo of Seattle, Wash., Katherine Clemons of Shawnee; step-daughter, Krystle Neese of Moore, Okla.; two brothers, Bill Haynes, of Seminole and Vernon Haynes of Fort McDowell, Ariz.; three sisters, Pauline Forrest, of Henryetta, Okla., Louina Crofut of Okmulgee, Okla. and Pauline Counts of Henryetta; ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Roxie; brothers, Curtis Dean Haynes, Hoover Haynes and Sonny James Haynes and sister, Evelyn Quinton.
Funeral services are planned for 2 p.m., Thursday, March 6, 2014 at the Freewill Baptist Church on 14th street in Prague with Rev. Randall Miller officiating, with burial to follow at Little Cemetery with U.S. Naval honors.
Wake services will be Wednesday, March 5, 2014 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.., at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole.
Casket bearers will be A-yo (Hawk) Haynes, Mike Winab, Marty Haynes, Billy (Ponch) Haynes, Reo Miller and Joey Jackson.
Honorary bearers will be Vernon Haynes, Darold Haynes, Donnie Crofut, James Haynes, Delbert Haynes, Nathan Henry and Bill Haynes.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
Walter Hays
Walter Neill Hays, beloved husband and father, passed away peacefully on Dec. 12, 2014 at the Morton County Care Center in Elkhart, Kans. after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
To the end, Neill was cared for tirelessly and with endless love and affection by his wife Lila, daughter Becki, and the staff at the Morton County Health System.
Neill was born in Danville, Ark. on Aug. 24, 1935 to Noble Walter and Teddie Alice (Foley) Hays.
Neill was the fourth of six children.
The family moved to Letha, Okla. when Neill started 5th grade and he later attended Seminole Okla. High School where he was known as "Squeak" Hays.
While attending Northwestern Oklahoma University in Alva, Okla., Neill met Lila Lee Goodnight, who would become his wife of 58 years.
Four rambunctious boys and finally one beautiful daughter was born to the marriage.
After graduating from college, Neill and Lila both entered into the teaching profession.
The Rolla Kansas school district was blessed with Neill’s positive presence for 34 years as a teacher, principal of all schools and ultimately the superintendent.
Anyone who met Neill enjoyed his full attention, a strong handshake, a huge smile, and encouraging words.
The Hays home in Rolla welcomed not only family, but many friends who were treated like family.
After Neill retired from the Rolla School District he served as Superintendent of schools in Weskan, Kans.
One of Neill’s biggest joys was driving Lila to enjoy their 17+ grandchildren and their endless activities.
Neill is survived by his wife, Lila; his sons Brent (Jan) Hays, Brad (Jeanne) Hays and Bart (Vicki) Hays, all of Bristow, Okla., his son Brock (Katie) Hays of Rifle, Colo., and his daughter, Becki (Rex) Richardson of Elkhart, Kans.; brothers, Noble Hays and James (Lillian) Hays, both of Seminole, Okla., sisters, Myra Dell (Edward) Ralston of Oklahoma City, and Gayl (Jim) Martin of Grapevine, Tex.
Neill was preceded in death by his sister, Atha June Hays.
Visitation took place on Monday, Dec. 15, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Garnand Funeral Home in Elkhart, Kans.
A celebration of Neill’s life will take place at the Rolla High School Gymnasium at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2014.
The family will be available at the school starting at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, where food and drinks will be available and friends are encouraged to gather.
Graveside at the Englewood Kansas Cemetery will be at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2014.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for memorials to the Rolla High School, where funds will be used to honor Neill’s memory and contributions to the school and community.
Neill’s soul is filled with the joy he received from his interactions with everyone who came into contact with him--young or old, rich or poor, family or friend.
Bobby Heiskill
Bobby Gene Heiskill, 83, Seminole resident died Monday, Aug. 25, 2014 in Seminole, Okla.
He was born June 3, 1931 in Okemah, Okla., to Rosa A. (Bentley) and Robert E. Heiskill.
He owned and operated his construction business and oilfield service for many years and was a former mayor of Okemah, Okla.
He is survived by his daughter, Nancy Adams of Yukon, Okla. and five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Georgia "Dot" Heiskill.
Funeral services are planned for 2 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 28, 2014 at the Church of Christ in Little, Okla. with Rusty Dawson officiating. Burial will follow at Schoolton Cemetery North West of Cromwell, Okla. Schoolton Cemetery is located 1 ½ miles north of Cromwell exit on I-40, turn west off highway 56 and go 1 mile.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
Jackie Henslee
Jackie Lamont Henslee, 81, a life-long resident of Konawa, Okla., died Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at Solara Hospital in Shawnee, Okla.
A graveside service is scheduled for 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at the Konawa Memorial Cemetery. Rev. Steve Lowrance and Rev. Mitch Williams will officiate.
He was born Sept. 7, 1932 in Konawa down on the South Canadian River Bend to Joseph Ira Henslee and Tennie (Geuin) Henslee.
He was a Konawa High School graduate, and an Army veteran of the Korean War.
He married Maxine May Petersen on Aug. 10, 1959 in Las Vegas, Nev.
He was a USDA Construction Inspector as well as a farmer and rancher.
He is survived by his wife, Maxine Henslee of the home; two daughters, Stacey Jo of Durant, Okla. and Tina Henslee of Weatherford, Okla.; four grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Tennie Henslee and two sisters, Leona Henslee and Billie Loye.
Adrian Hester
Adrian A. "Allen" Hester, US Army, Cpt., Ret., 50, of Elk Mound, Wis. died Friday July 25 at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, Minn. as the result of an accident.
He was born at Frances E Warren AFB March 18, 1964 in Cheyenne, Wyo. to Ann (Hook) and Adrian L. Hester.
He graduated from Strother High School in 1982 in Seminole, Okla.
Growing up, Adrian was a member of FFA, in which he enjoyed showing livestock. He also participated in many rodeos.
He then attended Okmulgee Tech in Okmulgee Okla studying Boot and Saddle making.
He opened a boot and saddle shop in Seminole and also trained horses.
He later moved to California to train horses after some time he returned to Oklahoma and joined the National Guard where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from UCO through the ROTC program from there he entered the Army as a 2nd Lieutenant where he was sent to officer training school in San Antonio Tex. then stationed at Ft. Bliss, El Paso Tex.
He attended OR Nursing School and was than deployed to Haiti and other TDY Deployments.
Later stationed at Ft. Leonard Wood Mo. where he finished his military career and retired as Captain.
He moved to McAlester Okla. where he was employed at McAlester Regional Hospital.
Adrian and Melissa started their lives together in South Dakota where they were married Aug. 1, 2013.
They moved to Colfax where they started their business "Hester’s Equine Services."
Their time together was short, but very much full of love with family and many friends.
Adrian was a very gifted and talented man in many areas whether it was his leather work, training horses, raising show goats or military career.
Whatever he set his mind to do he was driven to succeed with excellence. He was a true Cowboy.
He will be dearly missed by his wife, Melissa; his three sons, Aaron Hester, US Army stationed at Ft. Bragg, N.C., Colby Hester, US Army, stationed at Ft. Bliss, El Paso, Tex., Adrian "Ty" Hester of McAlester, Okla.; a granddaughter, Lydia Hester; his parents, Adrian and Ann Hester of Seminole, Okla.; a brother, Adam (Nikki) Hester of Shawnee, Okla.; niece and nephew, Kaitlyn and Wyatt Hester; step-children, Jeanette Werner of Eau Claire, Joseph Werner, Brandon (Baylee) Werner, all of Elk Mound; his mother and father-in-law, Colleen and Richard Bergevin of Chippewa Falls.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, July 31 at Christ Lutheran Church, Chippewa Falls with the Rev. Mark Homp officiating. Burial with military honors will be held at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.
Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m., Wednesday, July 30 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls and one hour prior to the service Thursday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Disabled American Veterans.

Richmond "Bud" Hill Jr.

"Bud" Richmond Hart Hill, Jr. age 69 and a resident of Asher, Okla. passed away on Monday, Sept. 29, 2014 at Midwest City Regional Hospital.
Graveside services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 2, 2014 at Oak Grove Cemetery in St. Louis, Okla. Bobby Shatto will officiate.
Pallbearers are James Starks, Jeff Spicer, Kenneth Springer, Jody Lovell, Jeff Goodnight, Dennis Taron, and Lewis Beason.
The family will receive guests on Wednesday night from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m.
Bud was born on Dec. 13, 1944 in Hot Springs, Ark. to Richmond Hart Hill and Blanche (Carman) Hill.
He graduated high school in Bismark, Ark. and married Sandra Beason on Dec. 26, 1966 in Antioch, Ark.
Bud was the owner and operator of Oklahoma Aztec Sand and Gravel.
He leaves behind to cherish his memories, his wife, Sandra Hill of the home; two sons, Rick and Melody Hill of Asher, and Bryon Hill also of Asher; two sisters, Irene Ausley of Bismarck, Ark. and Marie Brewer of Malvern, Ark.; one sister-in-law, Mary Ruth and Charles Stillwell of Bryant, Ark.; and five grandchildren, Kayla, Chloe, Schuyler, Abby, and Elizabeth.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richmond and Blanche Hill; one son, Jeremy Hill; two brothers, Vance and Neil Hill; one sister, Betty Hill; and two grandchildren, Tanner and Shian Hill.
