Katherine Ruth (Howell) House, passed away Saturday, July 5, 2014 at Midwest City Regional Hospital.
She was born March 7, 1954 in Nowata, Okla. to parents, Arthur "Wayne" Howell and Margrete Howell.
Wayne, Margrete, her sister, Jeanette and Katherine moved to Wolf and operated the Howell Ranch when Katherine was four years of age.
Growing up, Katherine loved to help raise cattle with her dad and cook with her mom.
Her hobbies included playing basketball, learning to play piano with Jeanette, and fishing with her cousins.
She graduated from Bowlegs High School in 1972.
She married Rod Lane and they had two children together, Tyler and Travis Lane.
His military service took them many places, including Rhode Island, California, Texas, Hawaii, Japan, Hong Kong. and Taiwan.
Katherine married Pete House in 1992 in Ouray, Colo.
They shared a love for horses, the outdoors, hosting trail rides, and ranching. They loved Colorado and traveled there as often as they could.
Before his death, Katherine took Pete on a tour of Alaska where he had worked on the Alaskan Pipeline.
She worked at OG&E in Konawa, Okla. for many years before eventually transferring to Oklahoma City, where she later retired.
After Pete's passing, Katherine found a good companion in Dewayne Sexton.
They along with their friends enjoyed going out, getting together, and attending Thunder games.
Throughout her life, Katherine was a country-girl at heart.
She was proud of her sons and grandchildren and loved having them over to fish and play on the farm.
She loved brush-hogging, gardening, fishing, and enjoying a glass of wine after a hard days work.
Most recently, she and Dewayne enjoyed horseback riding, traveling to wagon rides and western events, and the outdoors.
Survivors include Dewayne Sexton of the home; sister, Jeanette Harjo, of Maud, Okla., and her husband Phillip Harjo; her first son, Tyler Lane, of Norman, Okla., and his wife Alisa Lane along with their children, Ben and Jack; her youngest son, Travis Lane, of Panama City Beach, Fla., and his wife Rachel Lane along with their children, McKenna, Lexi, and Kade.
She also leaves behind three nephews, other relatives, and a host of good friends.
Katherine was preceded in death by Pete House and parents, Margrete Ruth Stokes Howell and Arthur Wayne Howell.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Wolf Cemetery. Andy Scott will officiate at the service.
Casket bearers will be Dale Oglesby, Lance Harjo, Scott Harjo, Murphy Mullenix, Robert Sexton, and Scott Linn.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
Shirley House
Shirley Ann House, 63, Seminole county resident died Friday, Jan. 17, 2014 at her home in Seminole county.
She was born Nov. 29, 1951 in Brownsville, Ky. to Gracie (James) Carder and Unie C. Carder.
Shirley was a homemaker and a member of the Wolf Free Will Baptist Church in Wolf, Okla.
She loved to fish, cook and sew.
She loved to sing, preach, teach and counsel about the Lord and the Holy Bible to everyone.
She loved God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit and was a Christian 100% and no one could change her. She was a member of the Prayer Chain of Wolf Free Will Baptist Church where she prayed for everyone day and night.
She was a cook at Mammoth Cave State Park Resort in Kentucky. She also cooked and was a janitor for Edmonson School District in Edmonson County, Ky.
She was a member of the Voluntary fire department with her father, deputy sheriff in Kentucky and truck driver for PTL Truck Lines.
She will be greatly missed by her husband, Jack House of the home; one stepdaughter, Brenda Burkey of Shawnee, Okla.; and one stepson, William Edward House of Odessa, Tex.; two grandchildren, David and Hannah Burkey; two brothers, Richard Carder and his wife Eve of Bowling Green, Ky. and Thomas Carder of Bowling Green, Ky., and many nephews, nieces, and cousins in Kentucky.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, with Rev. Allen Wood officiating. Burial will follow at Wolf Cemetery south of Seminole.

Wayne Howell
Arthur " Wayne " Howell, 90 year-old Seminole County resident, passed away Monday, April 28, 2014 at the Norman VA Center where since October, 2013 he had resided.
He was born Nov. 19, 1923 in Laverne, Okla. to parents Elmer Howell and Elizabeth "Lizzie" (Ogden) Howell.
Wayne graduated from Laverne High School and enlisted in the Navy.
Wayne was a veteran of WWII serving as a gunner on the SS Cyrus H. McCormick, the last merchant vessel sunk by a German sub, and the SS William M. Eastland.
He sailed around the world and his final duty station was Pearl Harbor where he was assigned shore patrol.
He received the Victory Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, and European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal.
Following the war Wayne married Margrete Ruth Stokes, Nov. 9, 1946, in Clinton, Okla.
In 1959 the couple and their two daughters moved to a ranch in the Wolf community from Oologah, Okla.
Wayne was a life-long farmer and rancher. He was known for producing award winning hay at both county and state level and raising good beef cattle.
He was a member of the Oklahoma Cattlemen’s Association.
At age 87 he was still brush-hogging his pastures, riding his 4-wheeler, and watering livestock.
Throughout his life he retained a strong handshake and good sense of humor.
Wayne loved his family and was always willing to help others. His generous nature and honesty was evident to family, friends, and neighbors.
Wayne was preceded in death by his wife, Margrete Ruth Stokes Howell; parents, Elmer and Lizzie Howell; step-mother, Ollie Howell; and brothers, Alvin H. Howell and Willie A. Howell.
Survivors include his two daughters and son-in-law, Jeanette Margrete Harjo and husband Phillip Harjo of Maud, Okla. and Katherine Ruth House of Seminole, Okla.; one sister, Dorothy Howell Fuller of Spartanburg, S.C.; five grandchildren, Stephen Harjo, Lance Harjo, Scott Harjo, Tyler Lane and Travis Lane; eight great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be sent to the Bowlegs Methodist Church in Memory of Wayne Howell, 36033 EW 1210 Seminole, Oklahoma 74868.
Memorial services with U.S. Naval Honors will be at 11 a.m., Friday, May 2, 2014 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole.

Bill Hubbard
July 16, 1937 - March 21, 2014
William George "Bill" Hubbard, 76, longtime Seminole resident, died Friday, March 21, 2014, at his home in Seminole.
Bill was born July 16, 1937, in Seminole, Okla. to Hazel Mary and Trenton Omar Hubbard.
Bill grew up in Seminole and attended Seminole High School where he graduated with the class of 1955.
Bill was known by many friends as a proud member of the "Band Of Brothers" that won Seminole's first State Championship in football in 1953.
He was also a very spirited supporter of Seminole Chieftain Football.
Bill was also very dedicated to being a blood doner. Bill was proud of the fact that he had donated over 42 gallons of blood, which he would always say was "an oilfield barrel of blood!"
Bill earned his Bachelor of Science degree, in Engineering, Math and Physics.
Bill was a member of the First Baptist Church in Seminole.
Bill was an Engineer during his working career in the Petroleum Industry.
Bill served his country in the U.S. Navy.
Bill is survived by his daughter, Karen Jones and her husband Jackie Allen Jones of Seminole; one son, Gerald Hubbard of Chicago, Ill.; and his brother, Jack Hubbard of Canyon Lake, Tex.; along with his grandchildren, Levi Croce and Jesse Allen Jones and a very special niece, Jill Hubbard. Bill is also survived by other dear family and friends.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents and by the mother of his children, Bobbi Mae Hubbard who died in 2009.
Memorial services for Bill will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, March 29, 2014 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole.
Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
Richard Hubble
Richard Lawrence Hubble died Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at Oklahoma Heart Hospital in Oklahoma City, Okla.
He was born May 24, 1948 in Anaheim, Calif. to J.D. and Lavon Hubble.
He attended Montclair High School in California and continued his education in college.
He later married Shelia Hubble Oct. 16, 1965.
He is survived by his mother, Lavon Hubble; five sons, Richard Lee Hubble, Ada; Mike Hubble, Topeka, Kans.; Brian Hubble, Konawa; Nick Hubble, Kansas City, Mo.; and Robert Hubble, Topeka, Kans.; eight grandchildren; brother, Steve Hubble, San Marcos, Calif.; and sister Cynthia Caldwell, Escondido, Calif.
