Donna Martinez

Donna Jane Martinez of Albuquerque, N.M. went to be with the Lord on Feb. 26, 2014.

Donna was born March 23, 1937 in Wewoka, Okla. to her mother, Bernie Parks and father, Dick Carder.

She is survived by her husband, Frank Martinez of Bartlesville, Okla.

Frank and Donna met and married at the University of New Mexico. They have celebrated 58 beautiful years of marriage.

Donna was a loving wife, sister, mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her spouse, Frank Martinez; children, Melanie Wade, and William Wade; Kelle Martinez Granger, Marc Martinez; siblings, Joyce and Jimmy Cantrell, Betty and Bill Ellis; grandchildren, Carly Granger, Devin Martinez, Aidan Martinez; and her beloved dogs Max and Paco.

A celebration of her beautiful life will be held this Saturday morning, March 1, 2014 at 10:30 am at Daniels Wyoming Chapel.

Donna will be greatly missed.

Jewelie Marzett

Jewelie Mae Joe Anna Marzett, 75, former Seminole resident, died Sunday in Oklahoma City, Okla.

Jewelie was born Sept. 17, 1939 in Earlsboro, Okla. to Lonada (Brannon) and Jewel Dunlap.

Jewelie was a graduate of Seminole High School in 1957.

She was a Business Clerk at the Boley Correctional Facility for the State of Oklahoma, until her retirement.

She was also a member of the Chiles Chapel A.M.E. Methodist Church.

Jewelie is survived by sons, Eudell W. Marzett, Jr. Reginald Knighton, Ricky Johnson, daughters Karla Marzett, Sherllyn Conger, Catrice Marzett, and Maranda Roach.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday Nov. 22, 2014 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Perry Williams and Rev. Homer Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Earlsboro Cemetery.

Casket bearers will be Ray Carney, Lonnell Kelley, Bernard Summers, Rex Marzett, Wendell Marzett and Patrick Marzett.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.

Rosa Marzett

Rosa Lee (Wright) Marzett, 83, Seminole, Okla. resident died Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at Integris Seminole Medical Center.

She was born Jan. 22, 1931 in IXL, Okla. to Lee Wright and Rosa (Bryant) Wright.

She married Henry F. Marzett on July 2, 1949 in Okemah, Okla. He preceded her in death.

She was a homemaker.

She is survived by two sons, Henry Marzett, Jr. of Kansas, Albert L. Marzett of Seminole, Okla.; three daughters, Carolyn Edwards of Shawnee, Okla., Yvonne Shannon of Shawnee, Okla., Verdelmer Carolina of Seminole, Okla.; two sisters, Veotha Williams of Spring Hill, Kans., Izola Hart of Kansas City, Kans.; 21 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and a host of other family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one daughter, Beverly Joann Burris and one grandson, Payne Shannon.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, July 21, 2014 at Westwood Cemetery in Wewoka, Okla., with Rev. Bobby Curry officiating the service.

Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.

Megan Mathews

Megan Mathews of Wewoka passed away Thursday, Dec. 4th, 2014 at the age of 29.

She was born in Shawnee on Sept. 29th, 1985 to Thomas P. Mathews and Penny A. Kelly.

Megan graduated Wewoka High School, received her license of massage therapy in Thailand and later attended Cosmetology school in Little Rock, Ark.

Megan was baptized at Wewoka First Baptist Church as a child.

She loved laughing, watching movies, snorkeling, fashion, and could light up a room when she walked in.

She knew how to love life, appreciate the small things and love with her entire heart.

Megan is preceded in death by her grandparents, Roy and Jean Mathews and Ruby Kimrey.

She is survived by her father; Thomas Mathews and wife Julie of Greenbrier, Arkansas, her mother Penny Kelly and husband Ryan of Houma, La. Siblings: Jessica Mathews, Karson Mathews, Abigail Kelly, Kimrey Mathews and Savannah Kelly. Grandparents: Earl and Ruby Bevelhymer of Wewoka, Don and Donna Kimrey of Wewoka, Rick and Cathy Kelly of Ft. Worth, Tex., and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2014 at The Wewoka First Baptist Church with Pastor Tommy Azlin officiating.

Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are Karson Mathews, Christopher Anderson, Michael Anderson, Adam Bevelhymer, Dillon Darr and Dakota Darr.

Honorary Pallbearers are Taran Findley, Tristan Findley, Andrew Bevelhymer, Hunter Bevelhymer and Colin Anderson.

Richard Maxwell

Richard Paul Maxwell, 72 year old Yukon, Oklahoma resident and former Seminole resident passed from this life Saturday, Nov. 15, 2014 at Oklahoma Heart Hospital in Oklahoma City, Okla.

He was born July 12, 1942 in Seminole County, Okla. to parents, Paul Maxwell and Leona (Bray) Maxwell.

Richard attended Seminole High School with the graduating class of 1960.

He went on to work in the oilfield living in Seminole, Waukomis and Yukon, Okla.

Before his retirement he had worked as a production superintendent for Ladd Petroleum.

He continued to work as a production consultant after his retirement.

Richard was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church in Yukon, Okla.

Richard leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Shari (Markham) Maxwell of the home; sons, Dale Maxwell and his wife Rhonda of Waukomis, Okla., Doug Maxwell and his wife Lori of Enid, Okla. and Scott Ward and his wife Tina of New Braunfels, Tex.; one brother, Wayne Maxwell and his wife Jeannie of Seminole, Okla.; one sister, Shirley Carson of Ames, Okla.; four grandchildren, Casey Maxwell, Ricky Maxwell, Derek Maxwell and Dustin Maxwell; three great-grandchildren, Ethan, Rylea and Marcus. Richard is also survived by a host of other family and dear friends.

Richard is preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Leona Maxwell, by one infant sister and by his first wife, Sharon "Susie" (Bailey) Maxwell who died in 1994.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 22, 2014 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole.

Interment will follow at Little Cemetery with Chris Stinnett officiating.

Casket Bearers will be: Casey Maxwell, Derek Maxwell, Dustin Maxwell, Ricky Maxwell, Johnny Baskett, Jerry Walden, Dwight Weber, Jim Anderson, Doug Kessler and Les Morris.

Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Okla.

Anna McBroom

Anna Marie McBroom, 55, Maud, Okla. resident died Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at her home.

She was born July 16, 1958 in Guthrie, Okla. to Charles Williams and Dollie Jane (Johnson) Williams.

She married Vernon McBroom on June 10, 2001 in Las Vegas, Nev.

She was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, Vernon McBroom of the home; one son, Nathan Smith of Bono, Ark.; one daughter, Desiree Bates of Maud, Okla.; one step-daughter, Chellie’ Martin of Richmond, Va.; four brothers, Gene Williams of Crescent, Okla., Wesley Williams of Missouri, Howard Williams of Virginia, Stanley Williams of Oklahoma; one sister, Crystal Hermanson of Missouri; and four grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Dollie Cummings and her father, Charles Williams.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m., Saturday, March 22, 2014 at the Maud First Baptist Church on Hwy. 9A north. Rev. Bobby Shatto will officiate the service. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery where she will be laid to rest near her family the Rodds and the Curleys.

Casket Bearers will be Michael Bates, Nathan Smith, Jeremiah Williams, Brian Jones, Curtis Wilburn and Charlie Williams.

Services are under the direction of Knight-Swearingen Funeral Home in Maud, Oklahoma. Phone 405-374-2424.

Mary McCalla

Funeral services for Mary Nell (Hunter) McCalla will be held on Thursday, October 16, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Clay Pettis presiding.

A committal service will follow at 2:00 P.M. at Fort Sill National Cemetery in Elgin, Okla.

She died Sunday, October 12, 2014 at Belfair of Shawnee at the age of 85.

Mary was born September 16, 1929 in Sulphur, Okla. to Isaac Roy and Nellie (Allday) Hunter.

Mary married Frank Phillips on November 26, 1949 in Fort Smith, Ark.

She retired from the Seminole County Clerk Office after many years of service.

Mary was a member of the Eastern Star, American Legion Auxiliary, La Societe De Femme and the Oklahoma County Retired Deputies Association.

She is survived by one son, Rob McCalla and wife Jane, of Tecumseh, Okla; one daughter, Nancy Abercrombie and husband Scott of Aurora, Colo.; four grandchildren, Michelle McBride, Christopher McCalla, Timothy McCalla and Amanda McCalla; three great-grandchildren, Tyler Spaulding, Leandra and Fonda McBride and a host of other family and friends.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents Isaac and Nellie Hunter; husband Frank in 2006; son, Frank David McCalla; two sisters and two brothers.

Olen McCullar

Olen Walter McCullar, 84, Seminole resident died, Thursday, April 24, 2014 in Claremore, Okla.

Olen was born April 12, 1930 in Melette, Okla. near Hanna, Okla. to Winnie (Hardin) and Walter Dee McCullar.

Olen moved to Seminole 12 years ago.

He was a Barber for over 50 years.

Olen served his country in the U.S. Army and Air Force during the Korean War.

Olen loved music and could play eleven different instruments; he loved yard work and gardening.

Olen was a member of the Lighthouse Tabernacle Church of God in Seminole.

Olen is survived by his loving wife Karen (Crowuse) Smith McCullar of Seminole; his daughter, Deborah Fixico of Oklahoma City, Okla.; step-daughter, LaDonna McAlvain of Seminole; step-son, Brandon Smith of Seminole; brother, Arlin Ray McCullar of Selma, Calif.; five grandchildren; two step grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Dee and Winnie McCullar; four brothers, Earl, Ulyss, George and Carl; two sisters, Dora and Eunice; one son, Steven and one daughter, Robin.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Monday, April 28, 2014 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bruce Benson officiating and Rev. Brandon Smith assisting. Burial will follow with military honors at Oak Grove Cemetery near St. Louis, Okla.

Funeral services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
