Funeral services will be held on Friday, Feb. 28, 2014 at 2 p.m. in the Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel.
Doris Mishler
Doris Marie Mishler, passed away February 22, 2014 in Shawnee, Okla. at the age of 92. She was born to Walter and Leila Herdlicka on February 6, 1922 in Iowa City, Iowa.
Doris was a member of the Harvey Rd. Baptist Church of Seminole and was known as a seamstress and homemaker. Doris’s recent pastimes included gardening and attending water aerobics with her friends.
Doris is preceded in death by her beloved husband, David Monroe Mishler; her parents, Walter and Leila Herdlicka; and 2 grand-daughters: Lisa Shaw, and April Tucker.
Doris is survived by 5 children: David Mishler Jr. of Westcliffe, Colo., Dayle Davies and husband Terry of Leesburg, Va., Darwin Mishler of Seminole, Okla., Diana Eddy and husband Mark of Visalia, Calif., and Donella Mahoney of Seminole, Okla.. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Services were under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home of Shawnee, Okla. The Funeral Service was held Friday, 2/28/14, at 2:00 p.m. at Resthaven Chapel in Shawnee, Okla.
Alice Mitchell
Alice Ann Mitchell, 65, longtime Seminole resident, died Thursday, Feb. 26, 2014 in Midwest City, Okla.
Alice was born Sept. 6, 1948 in Seminole, Okla. to Elmer Jon (E.J.) Evans and Minnie (Hamlin) Evans.
Alice was a payroll coordinator for Valley Labs in Boulder, Colo., before she retired.
She graduated from Seminole High School, Class of 1966 and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Seminole.
She spent four years in New Mexico and 20 years in Colorado before moving back to Seminole in 2001.
She loved to cross stich, quilt, making dolls and dresses for her granddaughters, the internet, baking and cooking. She was a member of an online Quilting club.
She married Robert Mitchell on Aug. 24, 1968 in Seminole.
She is survived by her loving husband, Robert Mitchell of Seminole; two sons, Rob Mitchell and his wife, Lara of Norman, Okla. and Colin Mitchell of Boulder, Colo.; her mother, Minnie Evans of Seminole; one sister, Janice Griffith of Verdigris, Okla.; four grandchildren, Ethan and Mackenzie Mitchell and Ashley and Daniel Pfannenstiel.
She was preceded in death by her father and a brother, Arthur Evans.
Visitation will begin Friday, Feb. 28, 2014 and last till Saturday, March 1, 2014 at Swearingen Funeral Home. No memorial services have been planned.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to scleroderma.org in memory of Alice.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
Beverly Mmaitsi
Beverly Jean Mmaitsi died July 14, 2014 at North Texas Medical Center.
She was born Nov. 14, 1952 in Modesto, Calif. to Floyd James and Mary Jane (McGee) Dillon.
Survivors include husband, Sam Mmaitsi of Gainesville; daughters, Nancy Kyi Mmaitsi of Kenya, Africa, Christine Drummond-Monroe of Eugene, Ore. and Natasha Nicole Drummond of Holdenville, Okla.; and seven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Nicolas Alexander Drummond.
A wake service will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, July 18 at the Middle Creek #2.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 19, 2014 at the Middle Creek #2 Church. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.
Services are under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home in Holdenville, Okla.
Patricia Monreal
Patricia Kay (Davis) Monreal, Seminole resident died Sunday, May 18, 2014 in Seminole at the age of 75.
She was born Feb. 8, 1939 in Seminole to Joseph Harvey Davis and Roxie L. (Sparks) Davis.
She grew up in the Seminole area and attended college before selling Avon and Mary Kay products, she was employed as a secretary for a construction company, a homemaker and worked as a secretary for Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department in Mississippi.
She married Gustavo F. Monreal, in Ennis, Tex. on Sept. 2, 1989.
She is survived by her husband, Gustavo Monreal of the home; two sons, Ronnie Vaughan of Bentonville, Ark., Scott Vaughan of Red Oak, Tex.; two brothers, Gerald Davis of Ardmore, Okla., Clifton Davis of Laverne, Okla.; five sisters, Ima Ruth Russell of Seminole, Wanda Jo Harvey of Seminole, Barbara Miner of Aberdean, Miss., Janice Dudley of Ennis, Tex. and Reba Mash of Ennis, Tex. and seven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Roxie Davis; and one daughter.
Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, May 22, 2014 at Little Cemetery with her husband Gustavo Monreal officiating.
Casket bearers are Eddie Bailey, Leslie Nadeau, Bill West, and Danny Presley.
Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole.
Judy Montgomery
Judith Evonn "Judy" Montgomery, 74 year old longtime Seminole resident passed from this life on Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2014 in Oklahoma City, Okla.
She was born July 11, 1940 in Seminole, Okla. to parents Dibrell Lewis Brewer and Leta Mae (Arthur) Brewer.
On Jan. 27, 1958 Judy married Homer Lee Montgomery and sadly he preceded her in death on March 12, 2001.
Homer worked for Arkla Gas Company which led him and his family to live in different locations including Hominy, Okla.
While in Hominy, Judy joined E.S.A. (Epsilon Sigma Alpha, an International Sorority, ) the Epsilon Kappa Chapter.
The family moved back to Seminole in 1987 where Judy continued being active in E.S.A., the Zeta Epsilon Chapter in Seminole.
While involved in the Sorority for 38 years, Judy held many offices and received many awards locally and internationally.
Judy was also a member of the Seminole First Baptist Church.
Judy worked as a stock broker for many years at Edward Jones, Stifle Nicholas, and Landry Asset Management until her retirement in 2006.
Judy leaves to cherish her memory one son, Bruce Montgomery of Seminole, Okla., three daughters, Sheila Smith and her husband Mike of Edmond, Okla., Tracy Nelson of Oklahoma City, Okla., Michele Endress and her husband Bobby of Moore, Okla., two sisters-in-law, Patricia Clark of Bethany, Okla., Vera Rammage and her husband Tommy of Seminole, Okla., brother-in-law, Donald Montgomery of Seminole, Okla., four sisters, Sharon Terral of Arlington, Tex., Jo Lystad and her husband Dean of Stephenville, Tex., Elizabeth Haley of York, S. C., Cindi Todd of Seminole, Okla., eight grandchildren who she adored, Daniel Smith, Rachel Smith, Nick Nelson, Jennifer Nelson, Lindsay Saenz, Jerrod Driskill, Zac Endress, Jacob Endress. Six great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and dear friends.
Judy was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Homer Montgomery, by her father, Dibrell Brewer, by her mother, Leta Mae Sanders, by two sisters, Ruth Harrison, Norma McEntire, by two brothers, Leon Sanders, and Jimmy Sanders.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 1, 2014 at the Seminole First Baptist Church located at 420 Reid Street in Seminole, Okla., Judy’s nephew, Camden Sanders will officiate the service.
Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Seminole.
Casket Bearers will be: Judy’s grandsons, Daniel Smith, Nick Nelson, Jerrod Driskell, Zac Endress and Jacob Endress.
Honorary Bearers will be: Ollie Adams, Delmar Stewart, "Sonny" Simmons, and her sisters of Epsilon Sigma Alpha International Sorority.

Albert Morgan
Former Wewoka resident, Albert "Boob" Morgan passed away on Saturday, May 10, 2014 at the Solara Hospital in Muskogee, Okla.
He was born on Jan. 11, 1930 in Henryetta, Okla. to Frank Morgan and Iva Belle (Brown) Morgan.
Albert worked as the Public Works Director for the City of Wewoka.
He enjoyed fishing and hunting, and taught many children how to do so.
He loved building and tinkering, and could fix anything.
Albert especially loved spending time with his family.
Albert is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Iva Belle (Brown) Morgan; and his brothers, Arthur Webster, Stanley Morgan and Melvin Morgan.
He is survived by his wife, Betty (Dodd) Morgan of the home; his children, Beverly Morgan of Oklahoma City, Tonya "Connie" Knapp and husband Robert of Wewoka; his grandchildren, Starla Norwood and husband Michael of Oklahoma City, Eddie Loving of Wewoka, Sara Kovash of Edmond, and Rodney Martin II of Wewoka; 10 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and his sister, Margaret Ogden of Chouteau.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at the First Assembly of God Church in Wewoka, with Pastor Perry Justice officiating. Interment will follow at the Oakwood Cemetery in Wewoka.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Hill, Rodney Martin II, Michael Norwood, Zachary Norwood, Jason Loving and Robert Knapp.
Funeral services are under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home in Wewoka.
Esther Morgan
Esther "Imogene" Morgan passed away Sunday, Aug. 10, 2014 at Touchmark Coffee Creek Memory Care, Edmond, Okla. at the age of 96 years.
She was born Feb. 7, 1918 in Seneca, Pa. to the late Charles and Freeda (Moore) Sadler.
Imogene married Gilmer B. Morgan July 20, 1941, he preceded her in death May 13, 1994.
The couple had two children Beverly (Gay) and Gilmer (Gil).
The family owned and operated The Morgan and Sons Monument Co. for 65 years.
Later they opened Morgan's Mug and Supper Club next to the monument company. It became known for the best place to get a cold root beer and Wednesday night fish and her famous home made pies.
Being civic minded they supported local community events for many years.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Wewoka and Seminole Nation Museums.
She was avid bridge player and continued to play until recent years.
Imogene is preceded in death by her parents; husband Gilmer Morgan; daughter Beverly Gay Morgan Bryant and husband Tommy; grandson in-law Jon Arrasmith .
Survivors included son Dr. Gilmer (Gil) B. Morgan II and wife Jeanine, of Edmond; granddaughters, Morgan, Molly, Maggie, and Melanie; two great-granddaughters Sydney and Charlotte Larrison, one on the way Evelyn Arrasmith; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:30 a.m. Aug. 14, 2014 at Oakwood Cemetery with Rev. Susan Rice officiating .
Pallbearers will be Jim Feld, Kelly Morgan, John Norman, Merlin Flor, James Larrison, and David Larrison.
The family will gather at Stout-Phillips Chapel Wednesday morning at 10 a.m. to meet and greet family and friends.
