Wewoka – Monty Lee Pearson was born Nov. 7, 1938 in Enid, Okla. to parents Lloyd Lee Pearson and Bessie Faye Wilson (Finley).
Monty passed away on April 4, 2014.
He married Joella Jones Pearson on Jan. 12, 1957.
He served in the United States Navy from 1956-1960.
After many moves between California and Oklahoma, he settled with his family in Oklahoma in 1980.
Monty is known throughout the world for Pearson’s Stripping Knives, a dog grooming tool he created in 1970.
Monty is survived by his wife of 57 years, Joella; four daughters, Pamela Pearson of California, Nancy Gettinger of California, Penny Rucker of Shawnee, and Melinda Isaacs of Ada; three wonderful sons in law, Robin Rucker, Alan Isaacs, and Dale Gettinger.
He is also survived by eight grandchildren, Christina Pearson of Oregon, Amanda Kalkanis of California, Monty Davilla U.S. Navy in Washington, Riley Davilla U.S. Navy of Oklahoma City, Makenna Heliker of California, August Brown U.S. Air Force in Utah, Jett McDowell U.S. Air Force in San Antonio, and Gabriel Isaacs of Oklahoma; two great grandsons, Nicky Heliker of California, Juliette and Colette Kalkanis of California and Dominic Davilla of Washington; three brothers, Jerry Pearson of Texas, Jim Fiorito of California, and Lloyd Pearson of Kansas; three sisters, Gloria Pearson of Oklahoma, Joni Burley of Alaska, and Niki Harding of California; and stepmother, Phyllis Pearson of Oklahoma.
Monty is preceded in death by his father, Lloyd; his mother, Bessie Wilson; and his brother, Dennis Pearson.
He was a member of the Assembly of God in Wewoka.

Ader Perry
Ader Lee Perry age 75, passed away on Friday, October 24, 2014 at VA Medical Center in Oklahoma City.
She was born to W.T. Lenard and Lee Aster (Wheaton) on May 19, 1939 in Waxahachie, Tex.
Ader was a life time resident of Wewoka, Okla.
Preceding Ader in death are her parents, husband Floyd Perry Sr., one son Scotty Perry; two brothers J.T. and Loyd Lenard; two sister Wanda Smith and Elizabeth Lenard.
Survivors include three sons Robert Littles of Oklahoma City, Floyd Perry Jr. of Wewoka, Okla., and Matthew Perry of Holdenville; eleven grandchildren; two sisters Wilma and Geraldine; five brothers L.J., John, Ben, James, Roy, and a host of nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, 2014 at Stout-Phillips Funeral Home and burial to follow at Westwood Cemetery, Wewoka, Okla.

Joan Perry
Prominent businesswoman and civic leader Joan N. Perry, 83, died Friday morning, March 28, 2014, in Shawnee, Okla.
She was born in Amarillo, Tex., on Jan. 29, 1931, to David and Evelyn Hively.
She was raised in Heavener, Poteau and Stillwater, Okla., and graduated from Stillwater High School with honors. She then attended Oklahoma State University.
In 1948 she married William A. Perry in Stillwater. They moved to Tecumseh a few years later, and she went to work for General Adjustment Bureau.
She then began her 23-year career in banking with Federal National Bank, holding many positions up to vice president in charge of commercial lending.
If she had continued her career with Federal National Bank she would have become a leading commercial loan officer with one of the nation’s largest banks (BancFirst).
She was one of the first female officers in the state of Oklahoma, breaking the glass ceiling for many women to follow.
Her greatest joy in banking was seeing that people’s dreams and visions became realities.
She was later co-owner of Farmers & Merchants Bank and Tecumseh Insurance Agency.
Outside of banking, she enjoyed music, gardening and snow skiing. She was an avid reader and was known for her culinary skills.
Mrs. Perry believed in giving back to her country, state and town, and played a key role in many political campaigns and the election process.
She was a member of Broadway United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir and was a parent leader of the Methodist Youth Fellowship.
She was an officer in the Legal Secretaries Association, and was chosen the county’s Legal Secretary of the Year in the mid-1960s.
She was a member of the Oklahoma Bankers Association, the Pottawatomie County Ski Club, the Shawnee Altrusa Club and was a Campfire Leader.
She was past president of the Tecumseh Chamber of Commerce and was named the chamber’s Citizen of the Year.
She was the longtime chairman of the Tecumseh Industrial Authority and wrote a grant for the city for sidewalk improvements. She also served on the city’s cemetery board.
She was a past officer of the Tecumseh Business & Professional Women’s Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William A. "Bill" Perry; a son, William Jeffrey Perry; and son-in-law Terry R. Sharp.
She is survived by her daughter, Ronnye Perry Sharp; a sister and brother-in-law, Pat and Homer Reese of Springfield, Mo.; sister-in-law Alice Perry of Tecumseh; nephew Dr. Jon Reese and his wife Kimberly of Springfield, Mo.; nephew Jim and wife Robin Reese, North Carolina; niece Mary Jane and Craig Ewing of South Carolina; nephew James T. Perry of Florida; and great-niece Amy Rinkowski of South Carolina.
Visitation will be 2 p.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesday, April 2, 2014 and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, April 3, 2014.
Family gathering to meet with friends will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Thursday, April 3, 2014 at Cooper Funeral Home.
Services will be 2 p.m., Friday, April 4, 2014 at Broadway United Methodist Church in Tecumseh with Governor Mary Fallin, Chairman John A. "Rocky" Barrett, Reverend Bill Matthews and Reverend Josh Langille-Hoppe officiating. Burial will follow at Tecumseh Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
David Phillips
David Alan Phillips, 62, former Seminole resident, died Tuesday, October 14, 2014 in The Woodlands, Tex., where he lived for several years.
David was born on November 6, 1951 in Durant, Okla. to Dorothy Louise (Moore) and Glenn Dillard Phillips.
David grew up in Seminole, Okla., he attended Seminole Public Schools and graduated from Seminole High School in 1970, he also graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a bachelor’s degree in Speech.
David was a huge OU sports fan and loved to ride his Harley with his friends.
David worked in the Electric Wire Line industry and was in sales for most of his working career.
David was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Seminole, Okla.
His parents Glenn and Dottie Phillips, owned and operated the Dairy Queen for many years.
David is survived by his mother Dorothy Louise "Dottie" Rammage of The Woodland, Tex. and his sister Anita Dommert and her husband Greg of Dinwiddie, Va. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and many friends who loved him very much.
David was preceded in death by his father Glenn Dillard Phillips on March 24, 1979, and his sister Glenda Lane Bateman.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m., Monday, Oct. 20, 2014 at the First Baptist Church at 420 Reid Street in Seminole, Okla.
Matt Pollock will officiate at the service and burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Seminole, Okla.
The family request that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the charity of their choice.

Don Phillips
Don Jack Phillips, longtime Seminole county resident, went home to be with his Lord on Tuesday, July 1, 2014; he was 86 years old.
Don was born on Nov. 8, 1927 in Seminole, Okla. to Noah Jefferson and Una (Woods) Phillips.
He worked on the family’s farm until he graduated from Varnum High School.
After graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Navy.
Upon his return from service of his country, Don attended Oklahoma State A&M.
He married Emma Juanita (Welch) on Aug. 14, 1948 in Harrah, Okla. and together they made their home in the Seminole area.
Don worked at Phillips Implement, D&B Automotive and Kerr McGee. He retired as a superintendent for Kerr McGee in 1992.
Throughout his adult life he also did free lance mechanic work.
After retirement he operated his own cattle ranch in the Seminole area.
Mr. Phillips also served as a school board member at Pleasant Grove Schools for many years.
Don leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Juanita of the home; two daughters, Linda and her husband Larry Crumbliss of Drumright, Okla. and Catherine McCartney of Yukon, Okla.; two sons, Terry Don Phillips and his wife Betty of Carney, Okla. and John Case Phillips and his wife Sibbya of Seminole, Okla.; one sister, Nelleta Molloy of Seminole, Okla.; one sister-in-law, Isla Mae Phillips of Seminole, Okla.; eight grandchildren, Erika Hardin of Tulsa, Okla., Terry Case Phillips of Ft.
