Leona E. Rivers, 84, longtime Seminole resident died, Sunday, Feb. 9, 2014 in Seminole, Okla.
Leona was born July 25, 1929 to Lois Eloise (Little John) and Tom Coley in McAlester, Okla.
Leona was a homemaker, a domestic housekeeper, a member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Seminole, and also attended Immanuel Fellowship Church in Seminole.
Leona is survived by her daughter, Kathryn Woods and her husband Charles of Seminole.
Her parents; her husband Theodore Rivers, who died, Oct. 8, 2011; and a son, Donald Ray Gray, preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Saturday Feb. 15, 2014 at the Ebenezer Baptist Church on Gale Street in Seminole with Rev. Billy Renfro officiating. Burial will follow at Westwood Cemetery in Wewoka.
Casket bearers will be Heyward McGregor, Reggie Wright, Mike Scheller, Melvin Oguinn, Gilbert Reese and Jim Cook.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
Oclether Roberts Jr.
Oclether Roberts Jr. died Tuesday, March 11, 2014.
He was born Oct. 12, 1939 in Holdenville, Okla. to Ocleher Roberts Sr. and Hattie Darlene Greenhaw.
He graduated from Wewoka High School in 1959.
He worked for the City of Oklahoma at the Draper Treatment Plant for thirty-five years.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his son, Oclether Roberts III of Del City, Okla.; eight grandchildren; and four step-children, Ray Bruner of Spencer, Okla.: Rochelle Harris of Detroit, Mich.: Ira Harris of Kansas and Cliff Harris of Jacksonville, Ill.
Funeral services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday, March 21, 2014 at Stout-Phillips Funeral Home, with Rev. Zeka Overstreet officiating and burial to follow at Westwood Cemetery.
Arrangements are by Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.
Benny Roberts
Benny Harold Roberts, 78, of Talala, passed away Thursday, Aug. 14, 2014.
He was born in Seminole, to HB and Thelma Roberts on Feb. 24 1936.
He was a graduate of both Seminole High School and East Central University in Ada.
He briefly lived in Tulsa and Owasso, and eventually settled in Talala in 1974.
He proudly served his country in the Oklahoma National Guard and Army Reserve for over 28 years. He retired in 1983 after attaining rank of Lieutenant Colonel.
He was an accountant with Amoco for over 20 years and retired in 1988.
He enjoyed his retirement years fishing, gardening and helping others.
He is survived by his son, Christopher Roberts of Talala; brother, Michael Roberts of Noble; sister, Nelda Robertson of Seminole; grandson, Spencer Roberts and granddaughter, Sophia Roberts both of Owasso.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Beverley Sisk.

Don Roberts
Jessie "Don" Roberts, 77, Saint Louis, Okla. resident died Saturday, Jan. 18, 2014 at his home.
He was born June 1, 1936 in Stigler, Okla. to Jim Bob Roberts and Opal Georgia (Bonds) Roberts.
He married Anna Sue Ford on Nov. 12, 1955 in Oklahoma City, Okla.
He was a member of the Oklahoma Cattleman’s Association, Shawnee Home Builders Association, Red Cross, Oklahoma Indian Housing Association, Dale School Board of Education, Kiwanis Club of Oklahoma, Shawnee Civic and Cultural Development Authority, National Association of Home Builders, Shawnee Chamber of Commerce and he was commissioned as a Kentucky Colonel by the Governor of the Commonwealth of Kentucky on Oct. 15, 2013.
He retired from Oklahoma Natural Gas where he worked from 1956 until 1991.
He also owned and operated Wing-N-On Cattle Company from 1960 until his death in 2014.
Survivors include, his wife, Anna Sue (Ford) Roberts of the home; two sons, Bradley K. Roberts of Konawa, Okla.; Jeffrey D. Roberts of Broken Arrow, Okla; one daughter, Margaret A. Mocabee of Seminole, Okla.; one brother, Bob Roberts of Fairfield, Ohio; 14 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Michael D. Roberts, and by one brother, Billie Roberts.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 7:30 p.m., Tuesday evening, Jan. 21, 2014 at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
Funeral services are scheduled for 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2014 at St. Louis First Baptist Church with Pastor Glenn Peck officiating the service.
Casket Bearers will be Bradley K. Roberts, Jeffrey D. Roberts, Willie C. Mocabee, Evan W. Wells, Jimmie L. Roberts and Michael W. Roberts.
Honorary Bearers will be Noah Roberts, Oscar Casey, Dr. Joe Taron, L.D. Wortham, Carl Packwood, Wayne Coffee, Larry Latimer, Steve Nail, Ken Fullbright, and Elmo Phipps.

Imogene Roe
Imogene M. Roe, 81, went to heaven Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2014.
Imogene was born Sept. 9, 1933 in Boston Mountain, Ark. Later moving to Seminole, Okla. where she grew up with her parents William Chester and Lillian Alice (Yates) Miller.
Imogene graduated from Varnum High School and attended some college.
She later met L.V. Roe and they were married Dec. 14, 1956.
Imogene had many jobs during her lifetime, but most of all she was known as a "life-changer", so named by her children.
With love and strong faith she guided her blended family.
She was a member of Highway Baptist Church in Seminole, Okla.
Imogene is survived by children, Glen Dale Roe of Missouri, Regina Wells and husband, Aaron of Tennessee, Jeanetta Miller of Roland, Okla., Alton Roe and his wife, Brenda of Broken Arrow, Okla., Donetta Kemper and her husband, Steve of Beggs, Okla., Teresa Riley and her husband, Richard of Tulsa, Okla., Lisa Towry and her husband, Tom of Broken Arrow, Okla., Deborah Bickerstaff and her husband, Brad of Collinsville, Okla.
She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Imogene is preceded in death by her parents; husband; and daughter, Marcell Horn.
A graveside service is scheduled for 1 p.m., Friday, Sept. 26, 2014, at Memorial Park Cemetery, 5111 South Memorial Drive, Tulsa, Okla.

Claude Rogers
Claude "Junior" Rogers, 79, Seminole resident, died Sunday, Feb. 9, 2014 in Seminole, Okla.
Junior was born Sept. 20, 1934 in Paden, Okla. to Ella Mae (Mills) and Claude Rogers.
Junior moved to Seminole, nine years ago, from Bakersfield, Calif. where he had lived for over 35 years.
While in Bakersfield he worked at Valley Detroit Diesel Company as a diesel mechanic for over 30 years.
Junior attended the Lighthouse Tabernacle Church in Seminole and Coney Island Tabernacle East of Bowlegs, Okla. for several years.
He enjoyed gardening, traveling, fishing and loved to help people.
Junior is remembered as a marvelous husband and an excellent father who loved his children and grandchildren.
Junior is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Virginia (Turner) Rogers of the home in Seminole; his daughters, Connie Raya and her husband Phil of Tracey, Calif., Michelle Diaz and her husband Larry of Bakersfield, Calif., Ashley Rogers of Weldon, Calif., Debra Beeler and her husband Robbie of Bakersfield, Calif., Rhonda Sertic and her husband Ryan of Weldon, Calif.; and a son, Mike Boyt of Mountain Home, Ark.; along with one sister, May Belle Foster of Greenwood, Ark., 14 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Funeral services are planned for 11 a.m., Friday Feb. 14, 2014 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Pastors Wayne McCray, Bruce Benson and Jess Powers officiating.

Norma Rogers
Norma Jo Lockhart Michael Rogers, 84, of Wagoner, Okla., won her brief battle against cancer Dec. 8, 2014, when she was perfectly healed in heaven.
Born April 23, 1930, in Seminole, Okla., she was one of 11 children born to the late Oscar Edgar Lockhart and Minnie Schramm Lockhart.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, five brothers and a daughter-in-law.
She will be missed terribly by her husband, William Rogers of Wagoner; her sisters, Loretta Orr and Shirley Messick and husband Ronnie; her children, Raye Morgan and husband John of Hartford, Kaye Smith and husband Jim of Cabot, David Michael and wife Dana of Greenwood and Robin Fulton and husband Lyle of Broken Arrow, Okla., and two stepdaughters, Melanie Riffle and husband Gary and Connie DelaCruz and husband Pete. She had eight grandchildren, Mandy, John Marc, Scott, Daniel, Rachel, Julie, Kasi and Josh; and 10 great-grandchildren who will miss their JoJo.
We will celebrate her life for years to come with hundreds of wonderful memories.
After graduating from Hartford High School in 1948, Norma married John William "Bill" Michael the following year and raised four children.
They were happily married for 42 years until Bill lost his battle with cancer in 1991.
During this time, Norma was very active in the community of Hartford.
She was mayor for several years, a member of the volunteer fire department, an active member of First Baptist Church and a business owner.
In 1993, Norma married William "Bill" Rogers and they moved to Wagoner to retire on Lake Fort Gibson.
During her retirement years, Norma’s passion was working in her flower garden.
She also enjoyed reading, writing poetry, crocheting and quilting. She was an active member of Twin Oaks Baptist Church.
A graveside service to celebrate her life will be held at Hartford Memorial Cemetery in Hartford on Thursday at 10 a.m under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home.
A reception will follow at First Baptist Church, Hartford.
A memorial service will be held the same afternoon at Twin Oaks Baptist Church in Wagoner at 3 p.m.
