Dee Savage

Dee Ann Cole Savage, 52, Seminole resident, formerly of Roff, Okla., died Sunday, Aug. 17, 2014 in Seminole, Okla.

Dee Ann was born April 26, 1962, in Ada, Okla., to Dorothy (Coullson) and Thomas Dee Cole.

Dee moved to Seminole fourteen years ago from Roff in Pontotoc County.

She married Raymond Savage on April 26, 2002.

Dee Ann is survived by her husband, Raymond Savage of the home in Seminole; daughters, Gloria Marvin of Fitzhugh, Okla. and Pamela Arsena of Chandler, Ariz.; by two step-sons, Ray Savage, Jr. and Joseph Savage; and one step-daughter, Patricia Ramerain; two grandchildren, Freedom Cole Marvin and Sierra Rain Arsena.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Friday Aug. 22, 2014 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at the Maple Grove Cemetery.

Casket bearers will be Jed Arsena, Buddy Marvin, Joseph Savage, Raymond Savage, Jr., Brian Cambal and James Roby.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.

Maranda Schoonover

Maranda Marie Schoonover, 20, Wewoka resident, died Friday, March 21, 2014 in Seminole county.

Maranda was born Sept. 23, 1993 in Oklahoma City, Okla. to Angela Lynn (Brown) and Guy Schoonover.

Maranda was a cashier at McDonalds in Seminole at the time of her death.

She was a longtime Prague, Okla. resident where she also attended school.

She graduated from Cape Central High School in Cape Girardeau, Mo.

She was a member of the Grace Community Church in Vamoosa.

Maranda is survived by her fiancé, Cashe Beaty of Wewoka; her daughter, Natayla Beaty of Wewoka; her father and step-mother, Guy and Marilyn Schoonover; her mother and step-father, Angela and Chris Cooper of Missouri; a brother, Sheldon Schoonover; and her sisters, Emily and Megan Schoonover all of Prague; grandparents, Peggy and David Brown; two step-brothers, Jon Nice of Shawnee and Daniel Nice of Prague; two uncles, Eugene Schoonover of Mannford, Okla., J.R. Schoonover of Florida; step-uncles, Eddy Ames of Midwest City, Okla. and Thomas Henderson of Del City, Okla.; step-grandmother, Mary Sneed of Sparks, Okla.; step-aunts and step-uncles Susan and Randy Ford of Sparks, Okla., and Karla and J.R. Booth of Tulsa, Okla. Also by aunt and uncle Stacy and Dustin, aunt Natalie, uncle Curtis Brown and aunt Dorrene.

She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Julie Kenagy; grandfather, Jackie Schoonover; step-grandfather, Verlin Kenagy; and step-brother, Joseph Nice.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Thursday, March 27, 2014 at the Grace Community Church in Vamoosa with Rev. Drew Issacs and Rev. Randal Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in Seminole.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.

Margaret "Peggy" Schroeder

Services for longtime Seminole resident Margaret Ruth Schroeder, 89, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 6, 2014, graveside at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Seminole.

Viewing will be Sunday, Jan. 5, 2014 at Swearingen Funeral Home from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The oldest of eight children, Margaret Ruth was born on Nov. 6, 1924 in Kaw City, Okla., to Everett and Ruby (Butler) Evans.

She died Dec. 27, 2013, in Corpus Christi, Tex.

In 1942, Margaret Ruth left Oklahoma to work at the Willow Run Bomber plant, Ypsilanti, Mich., where she installed radios in B-24 bombers.

After World War II, she moved to Honolulu, Hawaii to work for Pan Am Airlines.

On April 14, 1955 in Honolulu, Hawaii Margaret Ruth Evans married Warren F. Schroeder at the First Christian Church. They remained together until his death in 1999.

After returning to Oklahoma in 1961, Margaret (Peggy) was active in the local Cub/Boy Scouting programs and later returned to work at JC Penney’s.

After retiring, she volunteered for the Seminole County election board.

Her parents, one sister, and one brother preceded her in death.

Margaret Ruth Schroeder has one son, Fred; daughter-in-law, Mona of Corpus Christi, Tex.; and granddaughter, Jennifer Schroeder of Houston, Tex.

Donna Schwegman

Graveside service for Donna May Schwegman, 65, of Tecumseh, will be 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 4, 2014, at Resthaven Memorial Park with Sanford Grigg, officiating.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 2 and 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 3 at Resthaven Funeral Home.

Mrs. Schwegman passed away on Wednesday, July 30, 2014.

Donna May Schwegman was born March 23, 1949, in Shawnee, Okla., to Virgil and Eunita (Haught) Clifton.

She graduated from Earlsboro High School as valedictorian of her class in 1967.

She married John Schwegman on Jan. 14, 1986, in Tecumseh, Okla.

She retired from TDK Factory after 38 years of service.

Donna loved gardening and flowers. She also loved watching the hummingbirds that would come into her garden.

She always had a smile on her face and loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Christmas was her favorite holiday and had so many decorations and animated toys that she would have to pick which ones to display.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and one sister, Carol Dettmann.

She is survived by her husband, John of the home; three children, Jennie Hyden, Jerry Morrison and wife, Dee Dee and Krystal Schlottman and husband, Jonathan; 10 grandchildren, Nicole, Jennifer and Sandra Hyden, Jerry Ray Morrison, Josh Causey, Ryan Morrison, Nick Causey and Clayton, Dylan and Emily Schlottman; numerous great grandchildren; and three sisters, Connie Heffley, Gayla Casey and Rita Gore.

Chloe Sharber

Four month old, Chloe Cheyenne Sharber died Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2014 at her home in Konawa, Okla.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014 at Swearingen Funeral Home in Konawa. Rev. Ed Bray will officiate, and burial will follow at Dora Cemetery.

She was born Sept. 12, 2013 in Oklahoma City to Keanu (Gilder) and Joshua Sharber.

She is survived by her parents of the home; two brothers, Jamian Sharber and Cameron Sharber of the home; two sisters, Riley Gilder and Kaylee Sharber also of the home; grandparents, Kade and Kim Sharber of Konawa and Dewey and Julia Gilder of Choctaw, Okla.; and great grandparents, Linda and David Clark of Konawa.

Jeremy Sharp

Jeremy Scott "Worm" Sharp passed away Sunday July 13, 2014 in Whitesboro, Tex. at the age of 28 years.

He was born July 20, 1985 in Oklahoma City, Okla. to Jackie (Sneed) Miller.

Jeremy loved to collect knives, hot wheels, and monkeys.

He also enjoyed listening to ICP Music Band and enjoyed fishing.

He was always a very adventurous person.

Preceding Jeremy in death is his twin brother, Jarrod Sharp.

Survivors include his mother Jackie Miller of Whitesboro, Tex.; brothers, Larry Hutchings and wife of Tracie of Whitesboro, Tex., Terry Hutchings of St. Petersburg, Fla.; sister, Tammy Sharp and husband Raymond of Wewoka; and beloved by all, a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. His best friend was his dog Jose.

Best friends Danny and Katrina Campbell of Whitesboro, Tex.

Pallbearers will be Christopher Blue, Ricky Taylor, Jason Taylor, Larry Hutchings, Timothy Sharp, and Keith Barkhimer.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, July 17, 2014 at Stout-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Bill Chesser officiating and burial at Little Cemetery.

Arrangements are by Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.

Raymond Shoemaker

Oct. 15, 1952 – Feb. 2, 2014

Mr. Raymond Lee Shoemaker, 61, of Saint Louis, Okla., and formerly of Frederick, Md., died suddenly Sunday, Feb. 2, 2014.

He was the husband of, Becky Shoemaker his wife of 43 years.

Born Oct. 15, 1952, in Frederick, Md., he was the son of the late Donald A. and Christine E. (Clopper) Shoemaker.

Mr. Shoemaker was a 1970 graduate of Linganore High School, Frederick, Md.

He loved hunting with his buddies at deer camp.

He did construction work through the years and cattle ranching for several years.

He has currently been working for his good friend Robert Whitley of Pearson, Okla.

Surviving in addition to his wife Becky Shoemaker of the home; is one son, Michael Wade Shoemaker of Frederick, Md.; two sisters, Marilyn D. McGlothin of Oak Hill, Va., and Tina L. Hensley of Boonsboro, Md.; two brothers, Donald A. Shoemaker Jr. and Thomas W. Shoemaker of Frederick, Md.; sister-in-law, Delma Snouffer, Mt. Airy, Md.; and a number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

He will be missed by all his very close friends.

Mr. Shoemaker was preceded in death by a sister, Susan K. Seals of Hagerstown, Md.; brother, Craig E. Shoemaker, Frederick Md.; nephew, Daniel E. McGlothin Jr., Maysville, Okla.; and a great-nephew, Daniel Weston Cole McGlothin, Maysville, Okla..

Cremation services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.

Memorial service details will be announced at a later date.

Michael Simmons

Michael "Mike" Dean Simmons former resident of Wewoka, passed away Sunday Nov. 16, 2014 in Tulsa, Okla. at the age of 70 years.

Born Feb. 14th, 1944 in Dewey, Okla. to the late Dean Simmons and Bonnie (Williams) Simmons.

Mike graduated Bartlesville high School and latter graduated from OSU receiving a Bachelor of Science in Journalism.

Mike served his country during the Vietnam Conflict in the Army serving as Captain.

He was Loan Officer for the former First Federal Savings & Loan, Wewoka for a number of years.

He joined the Bank of Oklahoma in Tulsa, Okla. and work there for a number of years as a loan officer.

He was a member of First Baptist Church of Stillwater.

Mike hobbies were playing golf, welding and making things and spending time with his grandchildren and family.

Mike married Bethel Marie Lawrence July 2, 1967 in Elk City, Kans. and to this union two daughters were born.

Preceding Mike in death are his parents, and wife Bethel.

Survivors include his two daughters Kimberly Coates and husband David of Stillwater, Laurel Palladino and husband Paul of Jenks, Okla.; grandchildren Jordan Palladino, Michael Palladino, and Benjamin Coates; one sister Shirley Thomas of Copperas Cove, Tex., and a host of other relatives and friends.

Memorial service will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, 2014 at Stout-Phillips Funeral Home with Dr. Michael Vallandingham officiating.
