Lillie Willoughby

July 3, 1927 - June 16, 2014

Lillie Anna (McDonald) Willoughby, 86, went to be with her Lord on Monday, June 16, 2014.

She was surrounded by loved ones in her home, just one half mile from the place she was born, the Twin Oak area of Seminole County, Okla.

Dr. Black delivered Lillie into this world on July 3, 1927 at home.

She was the youngest of eight children born to M.D. and Osa May (Hill) McDonald.

She attended Twin Oak School and graduated from Varnum High School in 1945. While at Varnum, she was captain of the basketball team and was elected Activity Queen.

She married the love of her life, Floyd Willoughby, on July 15, 1947; they enjoyed 59 years together until his death on July 22, 2004.

Lillie worked at Seminole Wal-Mart as manager of the jewelry department until her retirement.

After retirement, she enjoyed traveling, including several trips to Europe.

One of her favorite memories was the night she spent in a castle in Scotland and visiting the Clan Donald Center on the Isle of Skye.

She also enjoyed a transatlantic voyage on the Queen Mary II with her daughter Anna.

Those that knew Lillie, will remember the love she had for her granddaughters and her great grandchildren.

She also loved anything purple, Blue Willow china, and sitting on the porch of her home, cup of coffee in hand, enjoying her yard filled with multicolored iris.

Lillie was a faithful member of the Church of Christ at Little, Okla.

Lillie was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Roy, Burnard, James S. (Jim), Hoyt, and Leon McDonald; and sister, Nola (McDonald) Bull.

She is survived by her daughter, Anna Marie (Willoughby) Thompson of the home; two granddaughters, Lena Hearrell and husband Jim of Seminole, Okla. and Katie Rattan and husband Neil of Duncan, Okla.; seven great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Emily, and twins Taylor and Tyler Hearrell and Cami, Warren and Ryker Rattan; her brother, Bill McDonald of Seminole, Okla.; sister-in-law Dora (Willoughby) Jacks of Moore, Okla.; a special niece, Opal (Bull) Barber of Garber, Okla. and a host of nieces, nephews, other family, and friends.

The family would like to thank MacArthur Park Home Health, especially Angel and Amanda, and the staff of Faith Hospice who cared for Lillie in her final days, especially LeAnne who always brightened Lillie’s day with her visits.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, June 19, 2014 at the Church of Christ at Little, Okla. with Rusty Dawson officiating. Burial will follow at Little Cemetery.

Casket bearers will be Jim Hearrell, Neil Rattan, Steve McDonald, Brad McDonald, Roy Boydstun, and Melvin Thompson.

Honorary bearers will be E.E. Brown, Ralph Castor, Dempsey Chesser and Walter Shephard.

Pirley Willyard

Stigler — Pirley E. Willyard, 94, of Stigler died Monday, July 14, 2014, in Gore.

She was a retired caregiver.

Funeral was Saturday at Warner Assembly of God in Warner, Okla., with burial at Fields Cemetery in Porum, Okla., under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory in Stigler.

She is survived by four daughters, Trudy Crow of Webbers Falls, Okla., Donna Bush and Connie Qualls, both of Stigler, and Hellen Qualls of Konawa, Okla.; a son, Johnny Clark of Stigler; 16 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.

Bettie Wilson

Bettie L. Rosamond-Wilson, 76, longtime Seminole resident, died Saturday, Nov. 15, 2014 at Integris Health in Edmond, Okla.

Bettie was born Jan. 6, 1938 in Nanih Chito, Okla. to Lucille (Burgess) and Alfred Ford White.

She had lived in Seminole for over 57 years moving from St. Louis, Okla. to Seminole.

Bettie was a member of the Bowlegs Assembly of God, Member of the Phi Theta Kappa-National Honor Fraternity of the Community and attended Seminole Junior College.

She worked as a cashier and concession stand worker for the Skyview Drive Theatre, in Seminole, as a Girl Friday for Bob and Karen Beach, secretary for Oartie’s Wrecker Service and was an excellent homemaker.

She married Curtis D. Wilson on September 29, 2001 in Bowlegs, Okla.

She is survived by her husband Curtis D. Wilson of Seminole, Okla., four sons; Gene Rosamond of Tecumseh, Okla., Randy Rosamond and Scott Rosamond both of Seminole and Curtis Wilson, Jr. of Oklahoma City, Okla., three daughters, Juanita Derryberry of Del City, Okla., Elizabeth Tooker of Mustang, Okla. and Annette Courtney of Norman, Okla.; three brothers, Fred White of Tecumseh, Okla., Roger White of McLoud, Okla. and Terry White; fifteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Samuel Scott Rosamond (1954-1994), Sister Joyce Massengale, Theda Dressel and a brother Alfred Ford White, Jr.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2014 at the Bowlegs Assembly of God with Rev. Roy Robertson officiating.

Burial will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in Seminole.

Casket beares will be Gene Rosamond, Randy Rosamond, Keith Dinwiddie, Daniel Derryberry, Kevin Rosamond, Josh Rosamond. Honorary bearers will be Gahlen Derryberry and Scott Rosamond.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Okla.

Helen Wilson

Helen Faye Robertson Wilson was born Sept. 20, 1938 in Seminole County, Okla. to James and Mamie Robertson.

Services will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, June 13, 2014 at the First Christian Church in Perryton, Tex. Rev. Dan Anderson will officiate.

She grew up in Seminole, Okla. graduating from Seminole High School.

After high school she attended Seminole Junior College later transferring to West Texas State University in Canyon, Tex.

She was a homemaker for numerous years but had worked at Simpson's Petroleum in Farnsworth.

She married Ogden Lynn Wilson on April 15, 1960 at the Joseph Hill Memorial Chapel at the WT campus in Canyon, Tex.

She is survived by her husband, Ogden Lynn Wilson of Perryton, Tex.; her son, James Ogden Wilson of Perryton, Tex.; her son, Alec Cole Wilson of Perryton, Tex.; her daughter, LaDonna Lynn Wilson Jolly of Fritch, Tex. and two granddaughters.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Mamie Robertson; her brothers, Paul Robertson and Fred Dale Robertson; her sister, Mary Fern Robertson Nation and granddaughter, Amber Nicole Wilson.

Leonard Windle

Services celebrating the life of Leonard Leroy "Len" Windle, Jr. will be 1 p.m., Wednesday Jan. 8, 2014 at Chelsea High School Gymnasium, burial will follow at G.A.R. Cemetery, Miami, Okla.

Len passed away on Friday Jan. 3, 2014. He was 59.

Born Dec. 21, 1954 in Miami, Okla. to Leonard Leroy and Carol (Manley) Windle, Len was reared and educated in his birth community.

Following his graduation from Miami, he continued his education by attending NEO.

During this time Len married his high school sweetheart, Karen Marie Weber.

They moved to Stillwater and Len finished his college degree there.

Len coached in several areas including Velma-Alma, Konawa, Lexington, and Pryor and finished his coaching career as head coach of the Chelsea Dragons.

Len was devoted to those young people he coached throughout the years and he enjoyed every minute of it.

He taught himself to play the guitar and joined his church’s praise and worship team.

He also took up painting and became quite the artist.

Len was looking forward to becoming a grandfather, anticipating the arrival of his grandson.

Those family members that survive include his wife, Karen of their home in Chelsea; his children, Josh Windle and wife, Laura of Tahlequah and Jessica Barlow and husband, Dustin of Sallisaw; his parents, Leonard and Carol Windle of Grove; his sisters, Cathy Taylor and husband, Denny of Miami and Diane Warford of Pryor; his sister-in-law Diane Weston and husband, Rocky also of Tahlequah and many nieces and nephews and close friends.

Memorial contributions may be made in Len’s name to Chelsea Memorial United Methodist Church, 441 W. 6th Street, Chelsea, Oklahoma 74016.

Roy Winrow

Jan. 15, 1927 - May 15, 2014

Roy Winrow, 87, longtime Seminole and Earlsboro resident, died Thursday May 15, 2014 at his home.

Roy was born Jan. 15, 1927, in Earlsboro, Okla. to Buelah Mae (Carruthers) and Jackson Winrow.

Mr. Winrow was an aircraft mechanic at Tinker Air Force Base and retired after 43 years of service, in January 1992.

He also served his country in the U. S. Army.

He was a longtime member of the Galilee Baptist Church in Seminole, a Master Mason and member of the New Light Lodge # 113 and the American Legion Post 204 in Seminole, Okla.

Roy is survived by three sons, Nathaniel Winrow and Roy Winrow, Jr. both of Earlsboro, Okla. and Randy Winrow (Teresa) Shawnee, Okla.; four daughters Rozetta (Dee) Winrow of Shawnee, Okla., Loretta Young of Long Beach, Calif., Ginger Winrow of Tecumseh, Okla. and Carolyn Winrow of Shawnee, Okla.; two step-children, Robert Foxx of Shawnee, Okla., Ollie Webb of Hesperia, Calif. and also survived by other children Ronnie Talton of Bethel Acres, Okla., David Winrow of Oahu, Hawaii, Kovetta Turner of Denver, Colo., Dorothy Jackson of Earlsboro, Okla. and Jeff Jefferson of Shawnee, Okla.; three sisters, Erma Jean Biglow of Kansas City, Kans., Lorene (Hiram) Ryan of Tecumseh, Okla. and Kathleen Hicks of Oklahoma City, Okla. along with numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife and companion of 57 years, Doretha Winrow on March 8, 2006; one daughter, Vanessa Washington; and a son, Michael Winrow; two step-sons, Edward Foxx, and Stanley Edmond; three grandsons, Terry Winrow, Larome Winrow and Desmond Winrow; three sisters, Opal Booker, Eunice Edmond, Bobbie Winrow; two brothers, Thurman Winrow and Booker Winrow.

The family would like to thank the Faith Hospice of Seminole, for all the excellent care they gave to Mr. Winrow.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 21, 2014, at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole with Rev. Larry Payne officiating.

Mr. Winrow will also be buried with Masonic and Military honors. Burial will be at Westwood Cemetery in Wewoka, Okla.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.

Roy Winrow
