Harold Joseph "Hal" Haddican, 87, Seminole resident died Monday, August 3, 2009 at his home in Seminole.
Hal was born June 11, 1922 in Santanta, Kansas to Walter Paul and Mary (Schmitz) Haddican.
Hal served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, as a Gunners Mate 3rd Class.
For many years Hal was a professional baseball player.
He played for the Pittsburgh Pirates and for several Minor league teams throughout the United States.
He was a member of the Association of Professional Ball Players of America.
After his baseball career he, became self-employed a masonry contractor and retired in 1990.
Hal was married to Bernadine M. "Bernie" Haddican and she preceded him in death on July 13, 1994.
Two brothers, Glenn Haddican of Banning, California and William and wife Dana Haddican of Seminole, survived him. Several nieces and nephews also survive him.
His parents, a brother, Gene Haddican and a sister, Marie Kennedy and his wife Bernie preceded him in death.
Graveside services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 5, 2009 at Little Cemetery with Chaplain Steve Mayhan officiating.
Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
Charles Hadley
Charles Douglas Hadley, age 63, died Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2009, at Cushing Regional Hospital.
He was born on May 31, 1946, in Nehawka, Neb., to Zella (Wade) and Sterling "Bud" Hadley. He married Patricia Payne, in Oklahoma City, in 1973. He was a carpenter by trade, and he to fished and played guitar.
He is survived by his mother; sons, Charles Hadley, Jr., of Moore, and David Hadley, of Springfield, Mo.; daughters, Lisa Madden, of Cushing, and Debbie Butler, of Springfield, Mo; brothers, Dean Hadley and Everett Hadley, both of Kimberling City, Mo.; two sisters, Janice Bowman, of Kimberling City, Mo., and Beverly Boyd, of Moore; and several grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife and father.
Graveside services are scheduled for 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 7, at Vamoosa Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, of Konawa. Rev. Mitch Williams will officiate. Visitation is Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 7 p.m. at the Swearingen Funeral Home, in Konawa.
David Hall
Former Seminole resident David G. Hall, of Goldsby, Oklahoma, passed peacefully from this life on Thursday, May 21, 2009, at the age of 65 with his family by his side.
David was born in Seminole, Oklahoma, on October 5, 1943 to Ralph and Geraldine (Daniels) Hall. He graduated from Pleasant Grove High School in 1960. He was united in marriage to Linda M. King on May 18, 1963.
David was employed by Baker Hughes Oil Tools Company as a fishing tool supervisor. He enjoyed spending time with his family, boating, fishing, watching car races and was an avid football fan.
David is survived by his wife, Linda of the home: two sons, Robert Hall and wife Mona Michaelis, of Midland, Texas, Steve Hall and wife Cheryl, of Moore, Oklahoma, daughter and son-in-law; Natalie Hendrix and husband Brent; grandchildren, Ben, Joe and Matthew Hall, of Midland, Texas; Chris, Caitlin and Cameron Hall, of Moore, Oklahoma, Jordan, Tyler and Presley Hendrix, of Yukon, Oklahoma; sister, Sondra Stark, of Scottsdale, Arizona; along with numerous other relatives and dear friends.
David will be laid to rest on Saturday, May 23, at Little Cemetery in a private family service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tenn., 38105.
Delmar Hall
Lifelong Seminole County resident Delmar Ozie Hall died Thursday, Jan. 29, 2009, at the Pioneer Nursing Home, in Seminole, at the age of 87.
He was born May 8, 1921 to Ozie William and Nellie (Tarpley) Hall, in Wister.
He was a groundskeeper at the Wewoka Golf Course.
He is survived by his nephew, Roy E. Wainwright, of Seminole
He is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
A Memorial service is scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2009 at 2 p.m. at the Swearingen Funeral Chapel.
Grace Hall
Grace Marie Hall, 84, longtime Seminole County resident died Friday, Oct. 2, 2009, at Seminole Care and Rehabilitation Center, in Seminole.
She was born March 21, 1925, to Dick and Alice McGirt, in Okfuskee County.
She married Robert L. Hall on March 22, 1967, in Phoenix, Ariz.
She worked in several job capacities during her lifetime from The Douglas Aircraft Plant during World War II to cooking and cleaning of homes and even construction work from time to time.
She was involved in the politics of the Seminole Nation. She was a member of The Seminole Nation and severed as Band Chairman for the Newcomer Band. She was also a member of Little Quarsarty Baptist Church, in Cromwell.
She is survived by her son, Anthony Hall, of Maud, and sister, Minnie Tsinhnahjinnie, of Phoenix, Ariz.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Jimmy McGirt; and sister, Janie McGirt.
The body will be taken to the Achena Church at 8:30 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 6, and Elder Kelly Tiger, Jr. will be officiating the services.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2009, at Achena Presbyterian Church, southeast of Maud. Burial will take place at the McGirt family cemetery.

Tennie Ham
Tennie Bell Ham went to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 5, 2009 in Enid, Oklahoma, at the age of 98 years.
She was born on November 24, 1910 in Holdenville, Oklahoma to Benjamin and Maime Minter.
She married Jesse Ham on February 29, 1928, he preceded her in death. She was a housewife and mother for the majority of her life. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, cooking and spending time with her family.
She leaves to cherish her memories three children, a son, Jesse Ham, Jr., of Shawnee, Oklahoma; and two daughters, Juanita Simmons, of Enid, Oklahoma, and Oneta Shinner Ham, of Edmond, Oklahoma; she is also survived by seven grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; and 18 great-great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin and Maime Minter; husband, Jesse Ham; two brothers; four sisters; and one great grandson.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 10, 2009, at the Swearingen Funeral Chapel with Rusty Dawson officiating. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Talby Justus, Harley Justus III, Curtis Simmons, Kobe Simmons Justin Henniger and Joseph Henniger.
Josephine Hamilton
Josephine Hamilton, a resident of Midwest City for more than 40 years, died July 16 at age 94.
A native of Stratford, Okla., she also was raised in Checotah and Cushing, graduating from Cushing High School.
She won the Miss Clear Lake pageant in Cushing.
Josephine married the love of her life, A. Burt Hamilton, on April 3, 1936, in Enid, and they toured the world together during his Air Force career, living in Japan, Illinois, New York and California, among other places. They were together 62 years before his death in 1998.
She was a deeply spiritual woman who had a love of gardening. She was a recipient of the Midwest City Garden Club’s Yard of the Month award. Josephine lived her final one and a half years at Bradford Village in Edmond, where her rose-shaded glasses and ever-present smile earned her the nickname Miss Hollywood.
She also was named Bradford’s first Prom Queen in spring 2008.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Mikee and Phil Neill of Seminole; her son and daughter-in-law, Arnold and Beverly Hamilton of Edmond; her grandchildren, Robyn Neill of Yukon, Andy Hamilton and wife Ashley of Iola, Kan., and Matt Hamilton of Edmond; and great-grandson, Maddox James Hamilton, of Iola, Kan.
The family is extraordinarily grateful to Carter Hospice’s staff and volunteers, the Bradford Village team, Dr. Frank C. Davis and nurse Ramona.
Services will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, July 22, 2009, at Barnes Friederich Funeral Home, Midwest City, Okla., with 2:30 p.m. burial at Memorial Park Cemetery, Enid, Okla. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Services are under the direction of Barnes Friederich Funeral Home of Midwest City.
Robert Ackerman
Robert Kenneth Ackerman, 79, longtime Seminole resident died, Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at Pioneer Nursing Home in Seminole.
Robert was born Feb. 11, 1933 in Trinidad, Colorado to Charles and Ruth (Endicott) Ackerman.
Robert came to Seminole 35 years ago from Bailey, Colorado to make his home here.
While in Seminole he drove a school bus for Seminole and Shawnee Public School Systems.
Prior to coming to Seminole, Robert served in the U.S. Air Force for 22 years retiring as a Master Sergeant (E-7).
Robert loved to share the gospel with people wherever he could.
Robert was married to Barbara Kay (Sagen) Ackerman on Oct. 7, 1951 in Rapid City, South Dakota and she preceded him in death on June 1, 1986.
Robert is survived by four sons and daughter-in-laws, Robert Bryce Ackerman, Ronald Bret and LaDonna Ackerman of McLoud, Roland Bart and Kathy Ackerman, Rodney Brant and Summer Ackerman, all of Seminole and a sister, Claudine Pearman of Oregon.
He is also survived by his grandchildren whom he loved very much, Jason Ackerman, Angela Davis, Nikki and Ashton Salsman and Nikki’s mother Tammy Ackerman, Madison and Amin Factor, Kendall and Eddie Diaz, Bailey and Bob Herrera, Colt Ackerman, Courtney Ackerman, Ashley and Dustin Koster, Andrew and Andrea Wilson, Alyssa Humphreys; six great-grandchildren, Ashton Frazier, Garret Ishman, Bella Diaz, Rosalynn Herrera, Edison Diaz and Braelyn Humphrey.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Barbara; a son, Richard Bryan Ackerman and a granddaughter, Jenna Kay Ackerman.
Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 2, 2012 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in Seminole with military honors.
His son, Ron Ackerman, will deliver the eulogy at the service.
Casket bearers will be Bryce Ackerman, Drew Wilson, Bart Ackerman, Rodney Ackerman, Colt Ackerman and Amin Factor.
Honorary bearers will be Ron Ackerman, Delbert Bartosh and Scott Bartosh.
Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole is in charge of arrangements.
Kay Adam
Kay Grisso Adam, 64, former Seminole, Bowlegs area resident, died Aug. 8, 2012 in Sparks, Nevada.
She was born Aug. 24, 1947 in Seminole to Audy and Francis Grisso.
She attended Bowlegs High School and graduated in 1965.
She was a retired Casino Card Dealer at the Eldorado Casino in Reno, Nevada.
Survivors include her daughter, Beverly Chapian of Sparks, Nevada; one brother, Joe Grisso of Seminole and two grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Gene Grisso and Stan Grisso.
Cremation Memorial services where held this past week in Sparks, Nevada.
Arrangements were under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
