Nina Mae Barnett, 86, longtime Seminole resident died, Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013 at her home in Seminole.
Nina was born Aug. 31, 1926 in Earlsboro, Okla. to Onie and Beulah (Moore) Palmer.
Nina moved to Seminole from Shawnee 60 years ago. She was a homemaker and a longtime checker at Chesser’s Grocery Store.
Nina was a longtime member of the Immanuel Fellowship Church, who loved her family and church most of all.
She was an avid Seminole Chieftain and OU Football fan.
Nina married Joe Barnett April 16, 1948 in Shawnee, Okla. and he preceded her in death on March 2, 1991.
Nina is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sherweeta and Bob Benn of Earlsboro; two grandsons, Brent Benn and his wife Kerri of Edmond, Okla. and Jason Benn and his wife Megan of Norman, Okla. Four great-grandchildren, Bosten, Mollie, Brooklyn and Carter also survive her.
Her parents, husband, two sisters and one brother preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, Jan. 18, 2013 at the Immanuel Fellowship Church with Pastor Tim Tate officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Seminole.
Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
Byrul Barnhart
Funeral services for Byrul Barnhart of Wewoka Okla. are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 15, 2013 at Bethel Pentecostal Holiness Church Wewoka with Martin and Donna Gustin officiating and burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
Byrul Barnhart was born Feb. 12, 1928 in Holdenville, Okla. to the late Mark and Birdie (Wynn) Barnhart.
He passed away in Stroud, Okla. Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at the age of 85 years.
Byrul and Essie M. Smith Barnhart were married Nov. 11, 1954 in Holdenville, Okla. and made their home in Wewoka.
He was a graduate of Spaulding High school and worked in the oilfields as a pumper.
He served in the US Army from 1950 to 1956.
He was a member of Bethel Pentecostal Holiness Church and loved hunting, fishing, and training horses.
His passion was music, he was an accomplished musician playing numerous instruments.
Preceding him in death are his parents; four brothers, Boyd, Tob, Marvin, and Mathew Barnhart; three sisters, Arlene Harr, Ruby Nalley, and Loretta Sublett; a daughter-in-law, Marie Barnhart.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Essie of the home; three sons, Mark Barnhart and wife Karen, David Barnhart and the late Marie Barnhart, Joby Barnhart and wife Liz all of Wewoka, a daughter Judy Roberts and husband Shawn of Stroud, Okla.; grandchildren, David Barnhart, Dylon Barnhart, Seirra Barnhart, Beth Barnhart, Seanah Morrison, Krystal Carolton, Brooklyn Barnhart, Charley Barnhart, Coty Barnhart, Shawna Muson, Marcus Roberts, Brandon Roberts, Meghan Roberts, Holly Barnhart, and Hanna Barnhart; ten great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Honorary Pall Bearers will be Wilman Davis, Judge Sawyer, Alfred Campbell, Rick Poff, Scott Morrison, Brandon Carleton, Bart Smith, Shawn Roberts, Erwin Holata, Ron Holata and the Men of Bethel Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Pall Bearers will be David Barnhart, Mark Barnhart, Joby Barnhart, Dylon Barnhart, Coty Barnhart, and Dave Barnhart Jr.

Rena Barton
Rena Lou Barton, 89, of Wewoka died Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at her residence.
She was born Oct. 15, 1923 in Stigler, Okla., to Henry and Ruth (Duncan) Perry.
She was a homemaker.
Preceding her in death are her parents; and husband, Jess Barton.
Survivors include her son, Ron Fenske of Wewoka, Okla. and daughter, Karina Campbell of Calif.
Memorial services will be held in Gilroy, Calif. at a later date.
Henry Baxter Jr.
Henry "Sam" Samuel Baxter, Jr., longtime former Seminole county resident, passed away Saturday, March 2, 2013 at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City at the age of 58 years.
Sam was born May 28, 1954 in McAlester, Okla. to Henry Samuel and Wanda Oleta (Wilson) Baxter.
He attended Fanshawe, Wister and Duke Public Schools. Sam graduated from Carl Albert College in Poteau with an Associate’s Degree.
Sam enjoyed working on cars, fishing and camping. He was a handyman and helped out at Little Cemetery.
He enjoyed cutting up with his nephews and giving them a hard time.
Sam is survived by his parents, Henry and Wanda Baxter of Little, Okla.; four sisters, JoEllen Shoop and husband Robert of Spiro, Okla., Janis Lindley and husband Clifford of Horntown, Okla., Beverley Baxter-Smith of Meeker, Okla., and Tammie Baxter of Little, Okla.; one niece, Shelia Morton; five nephews, Rodney Smith, Rusty Smith, Wes Lindley, Justin Shoop and Michael Lindley; numerous great-nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bill Chesser officiating. Burial will follow at Little Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be Rodney Smith, Rusty Smith, Wes Lindley, Justin Shoop, Michael Lindley and Wes Morton.
Honorary casket bearer will be Mike Harris.

Andrew Beaty
Andrew Dale Beaty of Seminole, Okla. died Thursday, May 16, 2013 in Shawnee, Okla. at the age of 23.
He was born Aug. 2, 1989 in Seminole, Okla. to Elvin Dale Beaty and Jane Calger.
He attended Seminole Public School before graduating from Wewoka High School in 2008.
He was employed at Mighty Quick Convenience Store located on Harvey Road in Seminole.
He is survived by one brother, Cashe Wayne Beaty of Seminole.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Memorial service will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 25, 2013 at Gleaners’ Holiness Church of Wewoka with Rev. Larry Chesser officiating.
Cremation services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole.
Jackie Beaver Jr.
Jackie Lee Beaver Jr. was born Sept. 23, 1970 in Claremore, Okla. to Jackie Lee Beaver Sr. and Minnie Harjo Beaver.
He died June 26, 2013 in Lawton, Okla. at the age of 42.
He attended Weleetka schools and later received his certification in culinary arts.
Preceding him in death are his parents; one infant son; grandparents, Eugene and Minnie Beaver and Joe and Cora Billie.
Survivors include his three children, Dakotah Lee Beaver, Jessica Lee Beaver, and Ousk'v Lee Beaver; two step-children, Lillie Ann Fox and Kyah Lee Fox; one grandchild; one sister, Anna Daly; and two brothers, Robert and Edward Beaver.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at Stout-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jimsey Harjo officiating and Rev. Edwin Jimboy will officiate at graveside. Burial will be at Creek Chapel Church Cemetery, Okemah, Okla.
Pallbearers will be Tim Golden, Mark Golden, Eric Harjo, Steve Fixico, Milo Fox, and Milo Fox III.

Minnie Beavers
Minnie Beavers, long time Seminole county resident, died Jan. 19, 2013 in Seminole at the age of 93.
She was born May 1, 1919 in Wewoka to parents, Dempsy Sutton and Rosa (Cryus) Sutton.
She attended Nobletown School.
She married Starling Beavers in 1936 in Wewoka. They moved to California and upon their return to Oklahoma she worked in the medical field as a nurse’s assistant. In 1985, after 24 years, she retired from Medical Center in Oklahoma City, Okla.
She is survived by one son, James Cleo Beavers of Bartlesville, Okla., 17 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, and 64 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dempsy and Rosa Sutton; husband, Starling Beavers; four brothers; two sisters; one granddaughter; one great granddaughter; three sons; and one daughter.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with her grandson Pastor Ralph Beavers officiating. Burial will take place at Westwood Cemetery, Wewoka, Okla.

Patricia Beavers
Funeral services for Patricia Elaine Beavers were held Monday, July 1, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Archway Memorial Chapel in Hazelwood, Mo. with Rev. Steve Lambert officiating.
Patricia Elaine (Noble) Beavers was born to Virgie Mae Parker and Thomas Noble in Cromwell, Okla. on Dec. 4, 1942.
Her parents; two children; and one sister preceded her in death.
She graduated from Douglas High School in Wewoka, Okla. in 1960.
After high school she moved to Oklahoma City where she met and married Juan Beavers.
She was employed at McDonnell Douglas for many years.
She died June 25, 2013 at DePaul Health Center.
She is survived by her husband, Juan Beavers; step daughter, Kim (Kola) Adeyinka; three grandchildren; sister, Edverda Hightower; and brothers, Willie Simpkin of Cromwell and Tommie Noble of Arcadia, Okla.
