Dorthy Mae Choate of Sasakwa passed away in her home Jan. 11, 2013.
She was born in Hinton, Okla. on Nov. 15th, 1937 to Jesse and Thelma Arthurs Box.
Dorthy attended school at Capital Hill in Oklahoma City and graduated there.
She married Jimmy Choate Sr. on March 20, 1956. Jimmy precedes her in death.
They were blessed with seven children, Judy Holmes of Arizona, Jimmy Choate Jr. of Oklahoma, Gene Choate Sr. of Oklahoma, Janice Wilt of Arizona, Gary Choate Sr. of Oklahoma, Marty George of Oklahoma, Susie Wells of Oklahoma.
Siblings include Marty, Walter, Ethel and Pauline.
She also has seventeen grandchildren and fourteen great grand children.
Preceding her in death are one sister, Alice Tannihill; parents and her beloved husband.
Services will be held at the First Baptist Church in Sasakwa, 2:00 pm Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013. Burial will follow at the family home.
Pall bearers are Gene Choate Jr., Joshua Choate, Dale Choate, Michael Wilt, Matthew Choate, John Choate, Jacob Pippin.
Honorary bearers are Keith Holmes and Danny Holmes.
Linda Choate
Seminole resident Linda Kay Choate, 66, passed away Wednesday, April 10, 2013, following a battle with liver cancer.
Graveside services will be Saturday, April 13 at 10:00 a.m. at Resthaven Cemetery under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home of Wewoka. Rev. Tim Gillespie will officiate.
Pallbearers are Jacky Gorsuch, Jeff Gorsuch, Jimmy Dewayne Choate, David Choate, John Choate, and Jim Choate.
Linda was born on Oct. 5, 1946 in Wewoka to David and Veta (Summers) Choate.
She was a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church of Seminole.
Those left to cherish her memory are her mother; two sons; three brothers; two grandsons; and munerous nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, David Jefferson Choate, two grandsons, Jacky Gorsuch, Jr., Jacob Benjamin Harjo and numerous others.
Judith Christopher
Judith Ann Christopher, age 74 years of Wewoka, passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2013 at St. Anthony's Hospital, Shawnee.
She was born March 26, 1939 in Holdenville, Okla. to the late Virgil Arthur and Myrtle Loraine (Jo) (Weaver) Fisher.
Judy was raised in Seminole and graduated from Seminole High School in 1957.
She attended business school in Tulsa and later worked for First Federal Savings as a loan officer until her retirement in September 2002.
She was a member of Presbyterian Church.
Judy married Daniel ("Danny") V. Christopher Oct. 4, 1958 in Seminole, Okla. he preceded her in death in 1989.
Survivors included her two children, Derek Christopher and wife, Lisa of Wewoka, Dana Bateman and husband Mark, of Seminole; grandchildren, Chris and Kim Cox, Clint and Nyssa Cox, Zachary and Ashley Christopher, Jason and Ashley Humphers, Carrie and Trent Tiger, Lacey and Chase Powell, Chelsea and Cody Teel, Lindsey Christopher; great-grandchildren, Zane and Kashton Christopher, Addison Powell, Grady and Graham Tiger, Avry Humphers, and Bentley Teel; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Zachary Christopher, Chase Powell, Chris Cox, Clint Cox, Cody Teel, and Trent Tiger.
Honorary pallbearer will be Glenn Cook, Rowdy Kincade, Fred Smith, and Leon Mosley.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at Stout-Phillips Funeral Home with Pastor Matt Wyatt officiating, and burial to follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
Ricky Chupco
Ricky Chupco age 54 years of Seminole, Okla. died Friday, Aug. 23, 2013 at his home in Seminole.
Services are scheduled for Tuesday, 2:00 pm, Aug. 27, 2013 at the Wewoka Indian Baptist in Wewoka. Burial will follow at the Little Quarsarty Cemetery.
A wake service was held Monday evening at the Church.
Ricky Chupco
Ricky Chupco age 54 years of Seminole, Okla. passed away Friday, Aug. 23, 2013 at his home in Seminole.
He was born on March 10, 1959 in Wewoka, Okla. and was baptized on Dec. 28, 2003 by Rev. Fred Lindsay
Services are scheduled for Tuesday, 2:00 p.m., Aug. 27, 2013 at the Wewoka Indian Baptist in Wewoka with Rev. Curtis Kinney and Rev. Robert Berryhill officiating. Burial will follow at the Little Quarsarty Cemetery.
A wake service was Monday evening at the Church.
The body was taken to the Church Monday at 4:00 p.m.
He was preceded in death by his father, Louis Chupco and mother, Jaunita Buck Chupco; nephew, Joe Chupco; niece, Bubba Chupco; and wife, Kim Davis.
Survivors include his daughter, Vanessa Lynn Chupco; brothers, Joe, David, and Terry Chupco; sisters, Shirley Chupco Proctor, June Billie, Dorothy Chupco, Wanda Fox and DeAnn Pierce. Ricky leaves behind a host of family and friends.
Pallbearers are Patrick Fox, Anthony Johnson, Tristan Mclear, and Travis Long.
Billie Church
Billie Eugene "Bill" Church, 80, longtime Seminole resident died, Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013 at Integris Seminole Medical Center.
He was born July 24, 1933 in Bristow, Okla. to Elmer Harry and Fannie Marie (Devenney) Church.
He moved to Seminole in 1977, coming from Holcomb, Kan. where he was a feedlot foreman at the Coop Feedlot, in Deerfield, Kan.
After he moved to Seminole he began working as a roustabout for various oilfield service companies, which included Maverick Lease Service and Triangle Lease Service in Seminole.
Later he began his own company, known as " Bill’s Lease Service" and served many oil producers here in the Seminole Oilfields.
He served his country in the U.S. Army as a Private First Class during the Korean War, where he received the" Purple Heart Medal" after being wounded in the leg on the front line of battle.
He is survived by his daughter, Betty Jean Grimes of Wagoner, Okla.; three sons, Donald Church of Seminole, Randy and Rick Church both of Jones, Okla.; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
His parents, the mother of his children, Betty Bernice Church; his second wife, Patricia Church; one brother; two half-brothers; one sister; and two half sisters all preceded him in death.
Memorial services will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Military Honors.
Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
Bill Clark
Bill E. Clark, 88, Shawnee resident died Wednesday, February 20, 2013 in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Bill was born June 26, 1924 in Foraker, Oklahoma to Luther and Vera (Coker) Clark.
Bill moved to the Seminole area at an early age. He grew up in the oil camps around Seminole and attended Seminole Public Schools. He graduated from Seminole High School in 1942. While at Seminole High School he was an outstanding football player at the Guard position on the 1941 State Championship team. After high school he went to the University of Oklahoma as a walk on football player and received scholarship to play. Soon after he started at OU he left to enter the U.S. Army and served during World War II, in England, France and Germany. After the war he went back to the University of Oklahoma on the GI Bill where he earned a degree in mathematics and education.
Bill married the prettiest women he ever knew, Ola Mae Chesser, on May 27, 1946 at the First Baptist Church in Seminole, Oklahoma.
Bill taught math and coached football at Seminole High School for 3 years, Bill was the assistant coach on the 1953 State Championship team. Bill also taught school at Cleveland, Oklahoma for 3 years. After teaching Bill went to work pushing tools in the oil fields for Lynes, Inc. an oilfield tool company, which was later acquired by Baker-Hughes Tool Company. He rose the the level of International Operations Manager, which led him to travel all over the world. Bill has been to every continent, except Antarctica, many times over. He had interesting stories to tell of the many places he had traveled. Bill and Ola Mae lived in Houston, Texas for 26 years before moving to Shawnee, Oklahoma in 1995 after his retirement in 1992.
Bill was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Bill loved to play golf. In all the years he played he had two hole in ones, however much to his chagrin they were both in the same year. He was a great bridge player. He also loved to read and watch football. Most of all he loved his family. And they loved him.
Bill could make a finely crafted bookshelf and a fluffy pancake. He was funny and smart. He was kind and gentle. Although disease was robbing him of his memories, nothing could take his heart. Bill was a good, good man.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 66 years Ola Mae Clark of Shawnee, Oklahoma and daughter Jan Clark of Houston, Texas. A son Sidney Mark Clark preceded him in death in 2010.
Memorial services will be held 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at the Immanuel Baptist Church at 1451 E. 45th in Shawnee, Oklahoma, with Dr. Todd Fisher and Dr. Doug Melton officiating.
Memorial donations may be made to the Immanuel Baptist Church Building Fund.

Bobby Clark
May 15, 1931 – Mar. 24, 2013
Bobby James Clark, Maud, Okla. resident passed away Sunday, March 24, 2013 at the Veteran’s Center in Norman, Okla. at the age of 81.
Bobby was born May 15, 1931 in Oklahoma City, Okla. to parents, Clyde Clark and Ida Vay (Rollins) Clark.
Bobby joined the United States Army after high school graduation and after his discharge he was a self-employed truck driver.
Bobby is survived by one daughter, Sandy Kerr and her husband, Randy Kerr of Maud, Okla.; two grandchildren, Crystal Sparks and her husband Chris Sparks of Maud, Okla., Randy and Leslie Kerr of Maud, Okla.; and three great grandchildren, Talon Fletcher, Jocee Sparks and Westie Sparks all of Maud, Okla.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Ida Clark; one son, Bobby (Judge) Clark; four brothers and three sisters.
A private family graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 29, 2013 at Cummings Cemetery with Rev. Larry Sparks officiating.
Services are under the direction of Knight-Swearingen Funeral Home of Maud, Okla.
Haskell Clifton

Funeral services for Haskell Elven Clifton will be held on Saturday, Dec. 14, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at the Wesley United Methodist Church in Hugo, Okla. with Reverend Phil Hodson officiating and burial following in the Crown Hill Cemetery in Broken Bow, Okla.
Haskell passed away Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2013 in Hugo, Okla., at the age of 90.
Haskell Elven Clifton was born Feb. 9, 1923, in Maude, Tex., to Robert J. and Ella Susie (Cowley) Clifton.
He passed from this life Dec. 10, 2013, in Hugo, at the age of 90.
Haskell married Marian Aleene Sanders on Aug. 22, 2003 in Texarkana, Tex.
He worked for Choctaw Electric as a meter repairman for 30 years.
Haskell was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church of Hugo.
Haskell was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Bernice Harman and Eloise Beadle; brothers, Lee Clifton, Ocie Clifton, Obie Clifton, Hubert Clifton, and Ray Clifton; half-sister and brother, Gladys Hale and John Clifton; and step-son, Paul Morris.
He is survived by wife, Aleene Clifton of the home; son, Robert "Bob" Howard Clifton and wife, Anita of Antlers, Okla.; daughters, Brenda Clifton of Rattan, Okla. and Barbara Parsons and husband, Gale of Seminole, Okla.; step-daughter, Janet Pennington of Hugo; step-sons, Ronnie Morris of Hugo, Mark Morris of Paris, Tex. and Johnny Logan of Hugo; brother, Wayne Clifton of Soper, Okla.; as well as many other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends Friday, Dec. 13, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Prater-Lampton-Mills and Coffey Funeral Home in Hugo.
