Longtime Seminole resident, Robert Preston Conyers, died Sunday, March 17, 2013 in Seminole, Okla. after a prolonged illness at the age of 66.
He was born June 16, 1946 in Charleston, S.C. to Mozelle and Mary Garnet (Wingate) Conyers.
He married Shirley Mae (Green) on Jan. 23, 1989 in Texas.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley, of the home; one son, Robert Preston Conyers, Jr. of Texas; one daughter, Jackie Davis of California; five step-daughters, Deneen Wolf, April Wolfe, and Kim Johnson, all of Oklahoma City, Jeri Cramer and Kimako Martin of Oklahoma; one adopted son, Brian Underwood of Oklahoma; two sisters, Ann Cogburn of Texas and Barbara Gene Nelson of Oklahoma; two brothers, Herbert Conyers of Oklahoma, Bud Conyers of Texas; 13 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Mozelle and Mary Conyers; a son, Dennis Joe Wolfe; and two grandsons, Terry Yearwood and Brandon White.
A graveside funeral service is scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 23, 2012 at Little Cemetery north of Seminole. Jimmy Wingate and Steven Choate will officiate.
Serving as Casket bearers are Mike McDonald, Bradley Flick, Christopher Joslin, Brian Underwood, Joe E. Yearwood and Jerry Yearwood.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to help. Donations can be made at Swearingen Funeral Home.

Greda Coon-Hooper
Greda Lynn Coon-Hooper died Saturday afternoon, July 20, 2013, at her home in Seminole, at the age of 53.
She was the daughter of Arthur and Eliza (Carpitcher) Coon, born on Oct. 15, 1959, in Oklahoma City, Okla.
She graduated Sasakwa High School in 1978.
She was a retired seamstress.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Eliza Coon; one sister, Jeanetta Douglas, one brother, Dwayne Coon; and one daughter, Traci Jean Hooper.
She is survived by one daughter, Kasandra Hooper of Seminole; three grandchildren; six sisters, Margie Yazzie of Coweta, Linda Tsadi of Henryetta, Shirley Wesley of Seminole, Rebecca Larney of Wewoka, Barbara Jefferson of Seminole, Elizabeth Coon of Seminole; and one brother, Arthur Coon Jr. of Okmulgee.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 24, 2013, 2:00 p.m. at Rock Spring Baptist Church in Sasakwa, with procession to the church at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be at the Rock Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Jimsey Harjo and Rev. Eugene Harjo are the officiating ministers.
Pallbearers are Jared Stewart, Walter Larney, Abraham Davis, Lewis Carpitcher, Eduardo Aguirre, and Zac Harrison.
Honorary pallbearers are Michael Jefferson, Jason Tiger, Joe Coon, Timmy Coon, Billy Coon, Terry Coon, and Nathanial Johnson.

Juanita Cornelison, 84

Juanita Cornelison, 84, former longtime Seminole resident died Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013 in Lufkin, Tex.
Juanita was born Aug. 21, 1928 in Alma, Ark. to Newton and Odessa ( Watson) Meeks.
Mrs. Cornelison was a homemaker and a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Seminole.
She had moved to Lufkin, Tex. several years ago to be near her son, Wade.
Mrs. Cornelison is survived by her son, Wade Cornelison and his wife Cindy of Lufkin, Tex.; her grandsons, Garrett Cornelison of Houston, Tex. and Daniel Cornelison and his wife Alisa of Little Rock, Ark.
She is also survived by her great grandsons, Greyson Cornelison, Griffin Cornelison and Gaven Cornelison all of Little Rock, Ark.
Mrs. Cornelison is survived by her brothers, Bill Meeks and his wife Marge of Shawnee and Jack Meeks and his wife Margie of Seminole; a sister-in-law, Bonnie Cornelison of Seminole and former sister-in-law Lola Davisson of Seminole, along with several nieces, nephews and their children and grandchildren.
Mrs. Cornelison is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harvey Cornelison; and her son, Steve Cornelison.
Funeral services are planned for 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013 at the Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole with Rev. Marvin Kehl officiating. Burial will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in Seminole.
Virginia Cosar
Virginia (Carpitcher) Cosar, age 74 and a resident of Konawa, Okla., died Saturday, March 2, 2013 at Valley View Regional Hospital in Ada, Okla.
A Wake service is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 5th at Rock Springs Baptist Church near Sasakwa. Rev. Jimsey Harjo will officiate.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 6th at the church, and Tony Buck and Woody Fields will officiate.
Burial will follow at Wolf Cemetery located at 35542 EW 1330.
Pallbearers are Travis Scott, Timothy Scott, Charlie Harjo, Michael Walker, William Narcomey, and Richard Rhodd.
Honorary pallbearers are Mikkah Cosar, Reece Cosar, D.J. Cosar, Jon W. Isaac, and Dustin Anderson.
Visitation is from 8:30 until 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Swearingen Funeral Home in Konawa.
She was born January 26, 1939 to Weitna Carpitcher and Lily (Davis) Carpitcher in Wolf, Okla.
She married Andrew Gieson Cosar.
She is survived by two sons, Anthony Gordon Cosar and Mickey Lee Cosar, both of Ada; one daughter, Andrea Lily Cosar of the home; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Weitna and Lily Carpitcher; her husband, Andrew Gieson Cosar; four brothers, Freeland, Jack, Joe, and Robert Carpitcher; and two sisters, Katie Cass and Sally Martin.
Onis Croce
May 24, 1934 – Oct. 7, 2013
Onis Wallace Croce, 79 year-old, longtime Seminole resident passed from this life on Monday, Oct. 7, 2013 at the Veteran’s Hospital in Oklahoma City.
He was born May 24, 1934 in Bald Hill, Okla. (near Okmulgee, Okla.) to parents George Leroy Croce and Effie Mae (Cunningham) Croce.
Onis joined the United States Navy when he was 17 years old, serving our country during the Korean War.
In the Navy, Onis earned the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Medal and the National Defense Medal.
In 1966 Onis opened his own business in Seminole called the Magneto Service Company, which serviced industrial ignitions and did small engine repair.
He and his wife, Kaye, owned and operated the company until his death.
On June 19, 1970, Onis married Debra Kaye Lewis in Gainesville, Tex.
Survivors include his wife of almost 43 years, Kaye Croce, of the home; two sons and daughter-in-law, Onis George Croce and his wife Rochelle of Moss, Okla., Buddy Shon Croce of Seminole; three daughters and sons-in-law, Kayla Dawn Croce-Hunt and her husband Chad of Shawnee, Okla., Frankie Laverne Croce-Holman and her husband Dan of Bakersfield, Calif., Teresa Frances Croce-Russell and her husband Gary of Lone Grove, Okla.; a grandson they helped raise, Levi Croce of the home; one sister, Betty Lou Martin of Tecumseh, Okla.; three brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Buddy Dale Lewis and his wife Glenda of Seminole, Terry Wayne Lewis and his wife Stephanie of Ardmore, Okla., Bobby Joe Lewis and his wife Carolyn of Ozark, Ark.; three sisters-in-law, Faith Croce of Oakridge, Tenn., John Olla Bradley of Ardmore, Okla., Karie Sue Kind and her husband Kevin of Ardmore; 13 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; as well as a host of other family and dear friends including his Bus-Station Cafe' coffee buddies.
Onis is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Leonard Lee Croce and Billy Gene Croce; and by one sister, Maudine Croce.
Cremation services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
Private family services are scheduled for a later date.
Robert Crockett
Robert Reed Crockett died Friday, Oct. 18, 2013 at the age of 81.
He was born Dec. 17, 1931 in Ada, Okla. to Ernestine and Ben Crockett.
He graduated from Ada High School and enlisted in the National Guard.
He served in the 45th Infantry Division during the Korean War.
After his honorable discharge, he moved back to Ada and went to work for the Ada Evening News.
He married Jan Good, of Konawa, in July of 1959.
They moved to Tulsa where he worked for the Tulsa World and the Tulsa Tribune until his retirement in 2000.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jan; parents, Ernestine and Ben Crockett; and one son, Benjamin.
He is survived by his sons, Paul and Robert Crockett, both of Tulsa; a sister, Jean Crockett of The Villages; and his brother, Ben Crockett of Ripley, Okla.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2013.
Jo Anna Culver
Jo Anna Culver, Seminole resident passed away Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013 in Seminole, at the age of 76.
Jo Anna was born Feb. 10, 1936 in Ada to parents, Virgil Eugene Pritchard and Ruby Geraldine (Robinson) Pritchard.
Jo Anna received her Master’s degree and was a retired educator. She taught secondd grade at the New Lima School system.
She was of the Christian faith and a member of the First Christian Church of Seminole.
She married Billy Gene Culver who preceded her in death in 1977.
Jo Anna is survived by three sons, Bill Culver of Miami, Okla., Ron Culver of Laramie, Wyo., Alan Culver of Castle Rock, Colo.; and one daughter, Suzan Franklin of Indianapolis, Ind.
She is also survived by one brother, Jerry Pritchard of Claremore, Okla.; and nine grandchildren, Christine Walker, Meri Page, Lori Tomlin, Katherine Culver, Maura Culver, Renee Little, Amber Graham, Megan Culver, Brandi Franklin.
Jo Anna was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Gene Culver.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30, Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Glen Pence officiating.
Burial will take place at Maple Grove Cemetery in Seminole.
In lieu of flowers, send donations to the Oklahoma Heart Research.
Family members will serve as casket bearers.
