James Davis

James Repse Davis of Holdenville died Jan. 7, 2013 in the Holdenville General Hospital.

He was born in Spaulding, Okla. on May 1, 1928 to Pete and Annie Mae Shores Davis.

He attended Spaulding Schools and later joined the Navy.

He spent his working years as an electrician at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma City.

He married Aline Orsburn on Aug. 17, 1948.

Survivors include Aline Imogene Davis of the home; two daughters, Beverly Wyatt of Norman, Okla., and Tereice Hickman of Guthrie, Okla.; one son, Perry Roger Davis of the home; eight grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren; one brother, Kenneth Davis of Oklahoma City, and one sister, Helen Putman of Tennessee.

Preceding him in death are his parents, one son, one sister and seven brothers.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Jan. 11, 2013 at the Midway Baptist Church with interment in the Holdenville Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Jason Springer, James Darren Allen, Roger Davis, Scott Wyatt, Shane Wyatt and Cora Davis

Honorary bearers are Amanda (Mandie) Wyatt, Rashelle Wyatt, Vince Tillery and Toad Watters.

Stout-Phillips Funeral Home is in charge of services.

Jim Davis

Wewoka resident Jim Davis, age 57 passed away Sunday, July 21st, 2013 at his residence after a long illness.

He was born Oct. 15, 1955 in Wewoka, Okla. to the late Norvell "Snooks" and Pat (Degge) Davis.

Jim worked in the oilfield for many years, and most recent worked for Oakridge Nursing Home as team leader for the outside workers.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing, but his passion in life was spending time with his grandchildren.

He married Vicki Ramey, April 24, 1976 and she preceded him in death May 17, 2013.

Jim is preceded in death by his father Norvell; wife, Vicki; and grandson, Sabo West.

Survivors include his two sons, Michael Davis and wife, Dana of Wewoka, Scotty Davis and wife, Brandy of Holdenville; his mother, Pat Davis; grandchildren, Macie, Brady, Natalie Davis, Chotty and Randy West; siblings, Ronnie, Ricky and Terry Davis of Wewoka; sister, Kay Taylor and husband, Jerry of Wewoka.

Pallbearers will be Teddy Sipes, Dakota Smith, Tommy Taylor, Justin Sipes, Derek Smith, and Chase Smith.

Honorary pallbearers will be Tim Dicketts, Clay Chaney, Lloyd Scroggins, Gary Davis Sr., Gary Davis, Jr. and Berry Davis.

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at New Life Church with Rev. Dewayne Davis and Pastor Sam Ketcher officiating and burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.

Arrangements are by Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.

Kenneth Davis

Seminole County resident, Kenneth Ray Davis died Friday, Feb. 8, 2013 in Seminole, Okla. at the age of 58.

He was born Sept. 24, 1954 in Asheboro, N.C. to Elbert Ray Davis and Mary Evenlyn "Eve" (Wilson) Davis.

He moved to Seminole five years ago from Okemah, Okla. He was a professional truck driver.

He is survived by one son, Billy Ray Davis of Siler City, N.C.; three daughters, Angel Davis of Fayetteville, N.C., Diana Davis of Siler City, N.C. and Kashawna Munyon of Denver, Colo.; two brothers, Wyatt Davis of Roxboro, N.C. and Tony Davis of Siler City, N.C.; and seven grandchildren

He was preceded in death by his wife, Maudie Rae Munyon.

Cremation service is under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole.

Services will be held at a later date.

Kimberly Davis

Kimberly Marie (Burditt) Davis, Seminole resident died July 14, 2013 in Seminole.

She was born in Joliet, Ill. on Sept. 17, 1962, to Harvey Austin Burditt and Teresa Lucille (Pattison) Burditt-Browning.

She was a 1981 graduate of Sasakwa High School in Sasakwa, Okla.

She was a homemaker.

She is preceded in death by her father, Harvey Burditt; and grandparents, Bob and Clyde Burditt.

She is survived by her husband, Ricky Chupco and daughter, Vanessa Lynn Chupco both of the home in Seminole; her mother, Teresa Browning of Holdenville; sister, Pattie Burditt of Shawnee; and brother, Kevin Burditt of Muskogee.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday, July 19, 2013 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Robert Berryhill and Rev. Jempsy Harjo officiating. Burial will follow at the Little Quarsarty Church Cemetery.

Wake services will be held Thursday, July 18, 2013 from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the Swearingen Funeral Home chapel.

Casket bearers will be Doug Vreeland, Lester Billie, Jr., Kevin Fox, Zachary Billie, Tommy Chupco and Quentin Chupco.

Honoarary Bearers will be David Chupco, Joe Chupco, Kennie Pattison and Brad Spoonemore.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole.

Verba Davis

Funeral services for Verba Lou Davis will be held Thursday, Aug. 22, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Parks Brothers Funeral Home Chapel in Okemah. Interment will follow at the Castle Cemetery.

She was born Sept. 29, 1935 in Oklahoma to Idus "Shorty" McCombs and Molly Opal (Vance) McCombs.

She died Saturday, Aug. 17, 2013 in Shawnee, Okla. at the age of 77.

She had been a resident of the Okemah area most all of her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Charles Chaffin; three sisters and two brothers.

Survivors include her husband, Lawrence Dale Davis of Seminole; two sons, Richard Dewayne Chaffin of Shawnee and Nyland Chaffin of Seminole; two daughters, Susan Lewallen of Earlsboro and Mollie Mae Wyrick of Seminole; one brother, Malcolm McCombs of Drumright; one sister, Ida Mae Smith of Drumright; 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers will be family members.

Services will be under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Okemah and officiated by Bro. Clint Sinclair.

Vicki Davis

Vicki Lynn Davis, age 55 of Wewoka, passed away in Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City on May 17 2013.

She was born Sept. 29, 1957 in Seminole to Hermine and Hazel Faye Joyner Smith.

Vicki was the Dollar General Store Manager for many years and later was employed by the Pioneer Abstract Company.

Vicki married Jim Davis April 24, 1976.

She is survived by her husband Jim Davis of the home; two sons, Scotty Davis and wife Brandy of Holdenville and Michael Davis and wife Dana of Wewoka; siblings, Sue Dingle and husband Ron of Wewoka, Angie Garretson of Wewoka, Dwight Smith and wife Kathy of Wewoka, Pat Whelan and husband Randy of Canadian, Kay Smart and husband Darrell of Newcastle, Grant Smith and wife Nancy of Wewoka, Shonna Porter and husband George of Wewoka, grandchildren, Macie, Brady and Natalie Davis of Wewoka, Choty and Randy Jo West of Holdenville.

Vicki is preceeded in death by her parents; two brothers, Herman Smith Jr. and Doris Eugen Smith; one sister, Betty Sipes; one grandson, Sabo West; a great nephew, Phillip Shane; a neice, Lisa Sipes; and a great nephew, Dylan Sipes.

Services will be held at the New Life Church in Wewoka on Wednesday, 10:00 a.m., May 22, 2013. Burial will be the Oakwood Cemetery. Rev. Tommy Azlin and Rev. Sam Ketcher will officiate.

Pallbearers will be Justin Sipes, Teddy Sipes, Ryan Smart, Dakota Smith and Tommy Taylor.

Honorary bearers are Clay Chaney, Chase Smith, and Chris Smith.

Nona Dearing

Longtime Wewoka resident Nona Dearing, passed away Sunday, March 10, 2013 in Elmwood Manor Nursing Home in Wewoka at the age of 86 years.

She was born Sept. 24, 1926 in Bristow, Okla. to Roy and Mary (Phillips) Campbell.

Nona married Jess A. (Jack) Dearing on Dec. 20, 1947 in Oklahoma City. He preceded her in death on Feb. 4, 2007.

Nona was a member of Community in Christ Church, Seminole.

She previously worked for Wewoka Flower Shop.

Her passion was cooking, baking, crocheting, knitting, gardening, and working crossword puzzles.

She was an active member for 21 years with the Wewoka Cemetery Association, President of the Friends of Wewoka Library Club since 1990, and former President and a long time member of the Daisy Flower Club.

Nona is preceded in death by her husband, Jess A "Jack" Dearing; her parents, her daughter, Donna Rogers; siblings, Tom Campbell, Paul Campbell, Thelma Rogers, and Helen McFarland.

Survivors include two sons, Dan J. Dearing and wife, Linda of Seminole, David Dearing and Carolyn Curtis of Wewoka; brother, Roy Campbell and wife, Bonnie of Houston, Tex; grandchildren, Ryan Hutchison, Teresa Rowlan, Link Dearing, Logan Curtis, Carissa Curtis, and Dustin Curtis; great grandchildren, Chase Rowlan, Alyssa Rowlan, Blake Ashley Curtis, Kamden Hutchison, Nathan Hutchison, Christian Curtis and Dustin Curtis Jr.

Family will greet friends Tuesday, March 12, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. at Stout-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel.

Funeral Service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at Stout-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Freeman Whitlock officiating and Jim Collier assisting. Burial to follow at Oakwood Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Art Garner, Chase Rowlan, Link Dearing, Troy Curtis, Terry Rowlan, and Ryan Hutchison.
