John Alton Deatherage, 87 year-old, longtime Tecumseh resident and former Seminole County resident died Monday, Oct. 21, 2013 in Oklahoma City.
He was born Oct. 5, 1926 in Macomb, Okla. to Harvey Deatherage and Goda E. Deatherage.
On June 7, 1968 he married Verna L. Deatherage in Konawa.
He had worked in the oil fields for a number of years before he started his own business, laying tile.
He is survived by two daughters, JoAnn Lucas of Tecumseh, Geneva Davis of Macomb; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Goda Deatherage; his wife, Verna Lee Deatherage; one daughter, Teresa Adams; two brothers, Troy Deatherage and Archie Deatherage.
Graveside services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Friday, Oct. 25, 2013 at Vamoosa Cemetery located south of Seminole in Hwy. 99. Pastor Bill Chesser of Corner Stone Tabernacle in Wewoka will officiate the service.
Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.

John leaves to cherish his memories, two daughters and sons-in-law, JoAnn and Ted Lucas of Tecumseh, Geneva and Burl Davis of Macomb, Okla.; one son-in-law, Jimmy Adams of Konawa; six grandchildren and their spouses, Tanya and Ritch Gunter, Norma and Chip Melton, Jimmie and Robert Fluitt, Tina and Shawn O’Dell, Jay and Amy Bray, and Shaina Johnson; 10 great-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and dear friends.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Goda Deatherage; his wife of almost 41 years, Verna Lee Deatherage; one daughter, Teresa Adams; two brothers, Troy Deatherage and Archie Deatherage.
Graveside services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Friday, Oct. 25, 2013 at Vamoosa Cemetery located south of Seminole on Hwy. 99. Pastor Bill Chesser of Corner Stone Tabernacle in Wewoka will officiate the service.

Mary Lou Decker
Mary Lou Decker, age 66, of Seminole, a former Holdenville resident passed away Thursday, October 3rd, 2013 at Seminole Estates Nursing Home. She was born June 14, 1947 in Holdenville, Okla., to the late Kenneth and Mildred (Hulsey) Decker.
Mary Lou was a graduate of Holdenville High School. She received a master degree and taught school for a number of years.
Preceding Mary Lou in death are her parents, sister, Anita, a brother Kenneth Decker Jr.
Survivors include cousin A.T. Decker of Kans., and Sharon Hill of Calif., a niece Michelle Decker, a nephew Matthew, and a special friend Deborah Hollingsworth of Seminole.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Friday, October 11, 2013 at Hudson-Phillips Funeral Chapel with Rev. Dane Robinson officiating, and burial at Holdenville Cemetery.

Shane Michael Denton, 19, died Thursday, March 7, 2013 in a automobile accident near Sasakwa.
He was born Sept. 15, 1993 in Phoenix, Ariz. to Robert Sigourney and Virginia West-Grant.
He was employed at the time of his death by IRT Call Center, Ada as a customer service tech. He received an associates degree in computer graphic design. He was also a CNA.
Survivors include his mother, Virginia West-Grant of Sasakwa, Okla; father, Robert Sigourney; step-fathers, Kenneth West III and William Grant; brothers and sisters Bradley West, Patrick West, James Grant, Rebecca Molina, Kandis Lara, Selina Crouch, Tiffany Crouch, Christopher Grant, , Kevin Sigourney, Johnathon Gallon, Keisha Cross, Brianna Provence; and his finance' Danni Boyd; and grandmother, Margaret Picking.
Honorary pallbearers will be David Kueneman, Bradley West, Patrick West, Dustin Klaas, Richard Klaas, and Kenneth West III.

Paul Derrick Jr.
Paul Derrick Jr., 64, died Wednesday, May 22, 2013 in Holdenville, Okla.
He was born Jan. 13, 1949 in Muskogee, Okla. to Paul Derrick and Rose Lee Shine Derrick.
He attended Muskogee High School.
He entered the United States Army May 8, 1967, serving his country during the Viet Nam Conflict and was discharged Oct. 10, 1972, earning a purple heart.
He married Vivian Sue Walters, June 7, 2003 in Wewoka, Okla.
He is preceded in death by his father, Paul Derrick Sr.; brother, Frederick L. Derrick
He is survived by his wife, Vivian Derrick; mother, Rosa Lee Derrick; brother, Robert Derrick; his children, Hakimah Derrick, Brian Collins Sr., Katriss Collins, Braylon Dedmon, Braycia Dedmon, Paul Derrick III., Anna Blanding, Catina Thomas, Lacreita Smith; a host of grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Junebug Thomas Harjo, John Harjo, Josiah Harjo, Broc Carter, Andrew Shaw, Craig Poafpybity, Chris Leetka, and George Tiger.

Mike Devlin
Mike Devlin, 68, of Perry, Okla., was born Nov. 5, 1945 in Stillwater, Okla. to William Ernest and Mary Elizabeth (Gunter) Devlin.
He passed away Saturday, Dec. 21, 2013 at his residence in Perry, Okla.
Mike was a graduate of Perry High School, Class of 1964.
After high school he served his country in the National Guard.
Mike also served the city of Perry as a police officer for the Perry Police Department from 1987 to 1988.
In 1988 Mike became the police chief for the Perry Police Department and continued to serve in this position until he retired in 1992.
During his retirement he ran his own pest control business from 1995 to 2009 when he became a pipeline inspector until his death.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf and going to the casinos. He loved spending time with his family and friends above all else.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, Dec. 27, 2013 at the First Christian Church in Perry. Rev. Martin Foster will officiate. Interment will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, Dec. 27, 2013 at Fairlawn Cemetery in Stillwater.
Services are under the direction of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home.
Family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 26, 2013 at Brown-Dugger Funeral Home in Perry.

Mike is survived by his son, Dustin Lewis Devlin of Yukon, Okla.; one daughter, Shala (Devlin) Indelicato and her husband Michael of Dallas, Tex.; four grandchildren, Michael James Devlin of Stillwater, Jadyn Mae Devlin and Alyssa Paige Devlin both of Yukon, Katelyn Hope Indelicato of Dallas, Tex.; nephews, Zane and wife Katie Feken of Seminole, Chadd and wife, Sonya Feken of Tecumseh and Kyle Grimes of Seminole; and nieces, Laurie and husband Johnny Lewis of Bowlegs, Lisa and husband Jay Camp of Tecumseh, Kristy and husband Donald Emmitt of Seminole and Kaci and husband Stephen Hunt of Shawnee.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernie and Mary Devlin; and one sister, Karen Beth Grimes.

Jerry Lee Dinwiddie, 54, longtime Seminole resident died Friday, Feb. 8, 2013 in Oklahoma City, Okla.
Jerry was born April 17, 1958 in Seminole, Okla. to John Calvin and Bertie Lou (Wilkerson) Dinwiddie.
Graveside services are planned for 2:00 p.m., Friday, Feb. 15, 2013 at Wolf Cemetery with Rev. Carl Whitfield offficiating.
Jerry was survived by his son, Jerry Lee Dinwiddie; three daughters, Amber (Dinwiddie) Gurley of Wewoka, Okla, , Amy Dinwiddie of Wewoka and Autumn Dinwiddie of Earlsboro, Okla.
He is also survived by four brothers, Jerald Dinwiddie of Seminole, Okla., Jeff Dinwiddie of Wewoka. Johnny Dinwiddie of Bowlegs, Okla. and James Dinwiddie of Seminole and a sister, Joyce Williamson of Seminole.
He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, Nevaeh Hale, Rycker Gurley, Natasha, Jacob, Marlah, Braeden and Brandon Dinwiddie, Areonna Thierry, Elijah and Taylor Rector.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Jerry Wheeler and a brother, Joel Dinwiddie.
Casket bearers will be Jerald (Calvin) Dinwiddie, Jeff Dinwiddie, Johnny Dinwiddie, James Dinwiddie, Jimmy Dinwiddie and David Gurley.
Honorary bearers will be Jerry Williamson, Carl Galbraith, Tony Curlee and Ed Bruno.

Gerald Dockery
Gerald Dee Dockery, Sr. a long time Seminole county resident passed away Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013 at Tecumseh, Okla. at the age of 81.
Gerald was born on Oct. 13, 1931 in Earlsboro, Okla. to parents, William Robert Dockery and Louella Maye (West) Dockery.
Gerald attended Harjo School and loved to attend the school reunions.
Being an avid sportsman he loved to hunt, fish and watch sports on the television.
He enjoyed socializing; never meeting a stranger he was always willing to talk.
He was a Superintendent of Rhoades Oil Company.
Gerald married Homa Jean (Pullen) Dockery in Shawnee, Okla. on May 7, 1951. She preceded him in death.
Gerald is survived by two sons, Mickey Dockery of Wewoka, Okla., Gerald Dockery, Jr. of Lawton, Okla.; three daughters, Deborah Sipes and her husband Ronnie of McLoud, Okla., Linda Jones of Shawnee, and Jeannie McNeill of Tecumseh.
He is also survived by ten grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, William and Louella; wife, Homa Jean Dockery; two brothers, Louie Dockery, Lee Dockery; four sisters, Geneva Black, Berneice Doty, Lowis Dockery and Juanita Dockery.
Graveside funeral service will be held 1:30 p.m. Friday, March 1, 2013 at Little Cemetery with Rev. Bill Chesser officiating.
