Eddie Lee Duck, Jr., 60, former resident of Konawa, Okla., died Saturday, Aug. 17, 2013 at Norman Regional Hospital.
A graveside service with military honors is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 21st at Vamoosa Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa. Rev. Kevin Duck will officiate. Steve Johnson will perform the eulogy.
He was born Oct. 16, 1952 in Konawa to Ed Lee Duck, Sr. and Iona Christine (Phipps).
He earned an associate degree at Rose State College, and was a Sergeant in the Air Force from 1970 until 1973.
He married Debbie McBee on Nov. 19, 1982 at the VA Chapel in Oklahoma City.
He retired as a machinist for Tinker Air Force Base.
He is survived by his wife, Debbie Duck of the home; one son, Christopher Lee Duck of Norman, Okla.; two brothers, Steve Duck of Del City, Okla. and Kevin Duck of Grove, Okla.; two sisters, Ericella Scroggins of Edmond, Okla. and Iona (Duck) Phipps of Garland, Tex.; step-mother, Nancy (Duck) Riggle of Konawa; and one grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ed Lee Duck and Iona Christine Canfield.
Stanley Duggins
Stanley Gene Duggins died Sunday, Oct. 27, 2013 in Woodward, Okla.
He was born Dec. 19, 1944 in Seminole to George Duggins II and Jean (Stanfill) Duggins.
He attended Bowlegs and Seminole schools.
He married Mary Lou Morris on June 27, 1962 in Seminole.
Throughout his life, he worked as a welder and mechanic. He retired from Woodward Magneto Service in Woodward.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou of Sharon, Okla.; brother, Mike Duggins of Flagler Beach, Fla.; daughters, Mary Kilsch of Salina, Kans, Lori Duggins of Woodward; son, Dick Duggins of Woodward; four grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, George and Vina Duggins; his parents, George II and Jean Adams; and one brother, Ronnie Adams.
Services were held on Nov. 4, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Billings Funeral Home Chapel in Woodward.
Helen Dunlap
Helen Virginia Dunlap, 79, passed away Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, in Norman following complications related to pneumonia.
Services will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday at Primrose Chapel, 1109 N. Porter in Norman. Visitation is 4:00 – 7:00 p.m., Wednesday.
Helen was born Jan. 7, 1934, in Dennison, Ohio to Carl E. and Thelma L. (Stout) Richard.
She was a 1951 graduate of Dennison High School and married Alfred C. Dunlap in 1952.
She had four daughters, "the girls, " and raised them in Ohio, New Jersey, Oklahoma, and Arkansas.
Helen was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
She was a 5-year cancer survivor who embraced life every day.
She volunteered at the Survivor Resource Center at Norman Regional Hospital.
Helen never met a stranger touching many people with fabric, yarn, and thread.
A member of the Washington United Methodist Church, she served as treasurer and co-sponsor of the youth "Sew ‘n Sew" group. She was also a member of the Norman Area Quilters Guild and Community Projects Committee that makes donation quilts for local children’s organizations. Recently she assumed the treasurer position for her guild.
Helen is survived by her sister, Joanne Riffle of Seminole; brother, John French of Colorado; four daughters, Vicki Borycki (Dennis) of Norman, Jane Garrard (Doug) of Edmond, Barbara Williams (Mark) of Blanchard, June Sherrell (Rob) of Washington; ten grandchildren, Lori Gustin, Ginger Church, Christi Vaughn, James Garrard, Jeremy Williams, Jacob Williams, Cheyenne Williams, Josh Reese, Angel Sherrell, Nick Sherrell; 14 great grandchildren, AJ, Torri, Alex, Rafe, Audrie, Collier, Malakhi, Macin, Landon, Lance, Faith, Gracie, Bryan, Averie; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Clark Dunlap and very dear friend, Robert Angel; siblings, Peggy, Jimmy, Lois, Dean, Mary Ellen, and her parents.

Bonnie Eakens
Bonnie Joy (Jackson) Eakens, 86, resident of Konawa, Okla. died Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2013 at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Konawa and burial will follow at Konawa Cemetery.
Guy Jackson, Dale Jackson, and Doyle Gene Jackson will officiate.
Pallbearers are Chris Eakens, Chad Henry, Paul Emrich, Jackson Greene, Jay Jackson, Guy Jackson, and Doyle Gene Jackson.
Honorary Pallbearers are Lillard Berry, Mike Boren, Caleb Emrich, Canaan Emrich, Houston Greene, and Cole Greene.
She was born Jan. 12, 1927 in Konawa to Walter N. Jackson and Sally Belle (Prewitt) Jackson.
She earned her Master of Science Degree from East Central University in Ada, and was an elementary teacher for the many years at Konawa.
She is survived by one son, Bobby Eakens of Ada; one daughter, Jan Henry of Ada; one brother, Doyle Jackson of Claremore, Okla.; five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Sally Belle Jackson and her husband, Robert "Bobby" Eakens.
Marcus Elbert
Funeral service for Wewoka resident Marcus Antonio "Whimpy" Elbert are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2013 at First Christian Church in Wewoka with Pastor Willie Reynolds officiating and burial at Westwood Cemetery.
Whimpy was born Jan. 22, 1965 in Oklahoma City, Okla. to the late Rev. Emmitt Elbert and Patricia Cudjo.
He passed away Monday evening in Holdenville, Okla. at the age of 48 years.
He was a member of Greater Faith and Love Church and was self-employed as a handyman.
Whimpy leaves to cherish his wife, Latoya Elbert and daughter, Larontave; mom, Clarine Elbert; step-mother, Audrey Elbert; three sisters, Glenda, Darlene, and Tonya; nine brothers, Chris, Issac, Curtis, Emmitt, Joedell, George, Johnny, Walter and Clarence and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.

Leah Emarthle
Leah (Wood) Emarthle, 88, resident of Konawa, Okla. died Friday, July 19, 2013 at Pioneer Nursing Home in Seminole, Okla.
A Wake service is scheduled for Wednesday night, July 24th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Konawa.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 25 at Cold Springs Baptist Church of Konawa. Burial will follow at the Wilson Family Cemetery. Rev. Frank Harjo will officiate.
Pallbearers are Jared Johnson, Jeremy Alberson, Mike Johnson, Jeremy Jones, Eddie Cecil, and Chad Cecil.
She was born Aug. 8, 1924 in Wolf, Okla. to Walter R. Wood and Munnah (Wilson) Wood.
After graduation, Leah worked as an LPN and retired from IHS in Wewoka, Okla.
She married Rev. Homer Emarthle, who preceded her in death.
She is survived by one son, Everett Wood of Talihina, Okla.; one brother, Dick Wood of Neches, Tex.; two sisters, Molly Wood of Heavener, Okla. and Minnie Pierce of Maud, Okla.; three grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Munnah Wood; her husband, Rev. Homer Emarthle; one sister, Christine McMahan; and one brother, Ben Brown.
Christopher Enoch
Christopher Allen Enoch, 26, of Edmond, Okla., died Thursday, Aug. 22, 2013 in El Reno, Okla.
Visitation started at 9:00 a.m., Monday, Aug. 26, 2013 and will continue through service time.
Service will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2013 at Sharon Baptist Church with Victor Cope of First Indian Baptist Church of Moore officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.

Ilene Enoch
Services of remembrance is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 30, 2013 at Stout-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel for Ilene Ann Enoch with Jim and Nita Moreland officiating.
She was born Aug. 7, 1943 in Lindsey, Okla. to Leonard and Minnie (Madewell) McDaniel.
She died Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at her residence in Seminole, Okla. at the age of 69.
Preceding her in death are her parents; husband, Charles Enoch; and grandson, Michael Enoch.
Survivors include children, Charles (Jeff) Enoch of Holdenville; Greg Enoch of Seminole; Kimberly Enoch of Ada; Troy Childers of Seminole; Jason Childers of Ada; Christi Wurtz of Seminole and Crystal Childers of Copperas Cove, Tex.; twenty-five grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; one brother, Billy Ray McDaniel of Tex.
Pall bearers will be her children.
Joy Evans
Joy LuReva Evans, a resident of Albuquerque, N.M. passed away Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013 in Albuquerque at the age of 74.
Joy was born on March 25, 1938 in Wewoka to parents, Arthur Richard Rose and Violet Marie (Lewis) Rose.
Joy graduated in 1956 from Spaulding High School.
She lived in Seminole for over 20 years before moving to New Mexico to be near her sister.
She was a member of the Midwest Baptist Church of Wewoka.
Joy married Cornell Evans who preceded her in death in 1990.
Joy worked in the Health Care Industry as a caretaker for many years. She was known as the "Little Warrior" for her diligent work in caring for her family. She fought for the life of her children, parents and cared for her sister long before she died.
Joy is survived by one son, Rick Evans of Ada; three brothers, Kenneth Rose and his wife Barbara of Farmington, N.M., Richard Rose of Wewoka and James Rose of Seminole; two sisters, Norma Jean Gaines and her husband Truman of Muskogee, Okla., Pasty Brown and her husband Jerry of Albuquerque, N.M.; four grandchildren, Levi Lehman, KaCee Thompson, Chad Evans and Kirby Evans; two great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Joy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one daughter, Denise Lehman who passed away in 1987; and one sister Sandra Blevins.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Carl Whitfield officiating. Burial will take place at Little Cemetery, Seminole County.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole.
