Darlene Goss, 76 year old, longtime Seminole and Pottawatomie County resident, died Thursday, Oct. 31, 2013 at her home in Shawnee, Okla.
She was born Dec. 9, 1936 in Chickasha, Okla. to Elmer Lawson and Golda (Williamson) Lawson.
She graduated from Chickasha High School and went on to further her education at the Oklahoma College for Women.
On June 19, 1955, she married Kay D. Goss in Chickasha.
Survivors include two sons, David Allen Goss of Norman, Okla., Steven Michael Goss of Maud; and four grandsons.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Golda Lawson; one brother, Harold Lawson; and one son, Van H. Goss.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2013 at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 7, 2013 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole with Rev. Carl Whitfield officiating the service.
Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.

Darlene Goss, 76 year old, longtime Seminole and Pottawatomie County resident, passed from this life Thursday, Oct. 31, 2013 at her home in Shawnee, Okla.
She was born Dec. 9, 1936 in Chickasha, Okla. to parents Elmer Lawson and Golda (Williamson) Lawson.
Darlene graduated from Chickasha High School and went on to further her education at the Oklahoma College For Women.
Darlene was also a member of the First Baptist Church in Chickasha.
On June 19, 1955 Darlene married Kay D. Goss in Chickasha.
Darlene was a long-time resident of Maud where she attended St. Mark’s United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school. She was also a member of the Delphian Study Club and was a member of the Maud Historical Society.
In 2003 Darlene moved to Shawnee where she was currently a resident.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, David Allen Goss and his wife Angelia Goss of Norman, Okla., Steven Michael "Steve" Goss and his wife Terrie Goss of Maud, four grandsons, Joseph Blake Goss of Norman, Zachery Allen Goss of Norman, Justin Michael Goss and his wife Andrea Goss of Edmond, Okla., and Cody Allen Goss of Maud. Her former husband and the father of her children, Kay D. Goss of Maud, and a host of other family and dear friends also survive Darlene.
Darlene was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Golda Lawson, one brother, Harold Lawson, and by one son, Van H. Goss.

Donald Graham
Nov. 11, 1945 - June 14, 2013
Donald "Don" Wallace Graham, Lamar, went to be with his Lord and Savior Friday evening, June 14, 2013, after battling pancreatic cancer.
Born a twin on Nov. 11, 1945, in Richmond, Calif. to Cecil Edward and Dovie Mae Graham, he moved with his parents and brothers, Edward, Bruce and David to Holdenville three months later.
He graduated from Holdenville High School in 1966.
In March 1969 Don met the love of his life, Gwendylyn Jones. They were married on June 20, 1969.
They went on to have three children: Dawnyal, Jeremy and Dustin.
Don worked for the Holdenville Daily News for 30 years as press foreman and circulation manager.
He received the Quarter Century Club Award from the Oklahoma Press Association for 25 years of service to the newspaper business in 2009.
Don also worked at the Grand Theater in high school, the Wewoka Theater and owned the Holdenville Theater in the 1990s.
Other jobs he held throughout the years included Lone Star Steel Company, Cain's coffee, Chrysler Corporation, brick layer assistant, maintenance at the Seminole County Fair, and Walmart.
After retiring from Walmart in 2007, Don enjoyed spending time with his grandkids, working outdoors, and helping out with security every year at the Woody Guthrie Folk Festival in Okemah.
He was a founding member of the Holdenville CB Club in the 1970s and went by the handle 'Lil Abner.
Don enjoyed photography, camping, canoeing the Illinois River, fishing, attending music festivals, playing computer card games and lively domino games with anyone who cared to challenge him.
Don was a member of the Carson Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Edward and David.
Don is lovingly survived by his wife, Gwen of the home: daughter and son-in-law Dawnyal and Jeffery Hill, Holdenville: sons: Dustin Graham, Moore, Okla. and Jeremy Graham, Tulsa; brother and sister-in-law Bruce and Betsy Graham, Little Elm, Tex.; sister-in-law Cheryl Graham, Lamar; sister-in-law Diane Graham Rochelle, Ill.; grandchildren: Lillian, William and Nathaniel Hill, Holdenville and Christopher Hill, Waynoka, Okla. and Hunter Pearson, Holdenville; a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 19, 2013, at the Carson Baptist Church.
Pallbearers will be Dustin Graham, Tony Bevelhymer, Kevin Newton, Brad Madron, Nathan Long, Oda Jones, Shawn Brock, and Jeff Hill.
Honorary Pallbearers will be grandsons Nathaniel, William and Christopher Hill and Hunter Pearson; Heath Thompson, Eric Thompson, Jeremiah Graham and Christian Graham, and Paul Jones.
Velda Graham
New Iberia- Graveside services for Mrs. Cloy Gene Graham, the former Velda Fern Guinn, age 85 will be held on Wednesday Feb. 6, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Cummins Cemetery in Maud, Okla.
Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home of New Iberia on Monday Feb. 4, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a Service of Prayer lead by Rev. Scott Bullock at 6:00 p.m.
A native of Maud and resident of New Iberia, "Honey" as she was affectionately known, passed away on Friday Feb. 1, 2013 at 9:42 p.m. at a Lake Charles assisted living facility.
She was a homemaker, Licensed Practical Nurse, member of the First United Methodist Church and enjoyed volunteering in church activities.
Mrs. Graham traveled the world throughout her lifetime and was very artistic. She was a talented painter, pianist, and enjoyed sewing.
She was an amazing woman, quick witted, excellent joke teller, and she will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her step daughter, De Lenda Graham Lily and her husband Dale Grimes of Winnsboro, Tex.; grandchildren, Sarah Marie Graham Abushanab and husband Joseph of Lake Charles, and Jacob Graham of Crandal, Tex.; great grandchildren, Jalil Joseph and Lilah Orchid Abushanab of Lake Charles; brothers, Donald Guinn of Bakersfield, Calif., Van Guinn and wife Erma of Maud; and son-in-law, Richard Domingues of Lafayette.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cloy Gene Graham; parents, Alva E. Guinn and Esther Weatherford Gholson Guinn; sons, Gene Paul and Gary Michael Graham; daughter-in-law, Micheal Boone Graham Domingues; grandchildren, Matthew Paul Graham and Kristal Gail Graham.

Nora Grandstaff
Nora Lee Grandstaff, 69, life long Seminole resident died Thursday, Aug. 8, 2013 in Oklahoma City, Okla.
She was born Dec.28, 1943 in Seminole, Okla. to Truman and Lenora (Dotson) Ring.
She was an assistant manager at Homeland Grocery for 22 years and started when it was Safeway in 1974 and retired in 2006.
She later was an administrative assistant at the First Assembly of God.
She married Kagle George Grandstaff on Jan. 20, 1962 in Seminole.
She is survived by her husband, Kagle Grandstaff of Seminole; three sons, Johnny Grandstaff of Shawnee and Nathan and Steve Grandstaff both of Seminole; three sisters, Phyllis Bennett and Carole Blair of Oklahoma City and Pat Smith of Bowlegs; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are planned for 10:00 a.m., Monday, Aug. 12, 2013, at the First Assembly of God Church with Rev. Doyle O. Long officiating. Burial will follow at Little Cemetery.

Donald Gregg
"Donnie" Donald Vernon Gregg, age 54 and former resident of Seminole County died Thursday, May 9, 2013 at the Lindsay Municipal Hospital in Lindsay, Okla.
A Graveside service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 11, 2013 at the Wanette Cemetery Chapel in Wanette, Okla. under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa, Okla. Jerrod Gregg will officiate.
He was born July 25, 1958 in Shawnee, Okla. to Jay Vee and Bertha (Wilson) Gregg.
He attended school at Asher and Wanette Public Schools.
He is survived by father, Jay Vee Gregg of Maud; one son, Joshua Don Gregg of Shawnee, Okla.; four brothers, Bobby Gregg of Shawnee, Jerry Gregg of Wanette, Larry Gregg of Oklahoma City, and Keith Gregg of Maud; two sisters, Rose Gregg of Maud, and Christean Gregg, also of Maud; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Bertha; and one sister, Betty Ann Gregg
Robert Gregory Jr.
Robert Lee " Bob " Gregory, Jr., 64, lifelong Maud resident died Friday, Feb. 1, 2013 in Oklahoma City, Okla.
Bob was born Jan. 23, 1949 in Maud, Okla. to Robert Lee Gregory, Sr. and Cordelia (Mathes) Gregory.
Bob grew up in Maud and attended Maud Public Schools and graduated from Maud High School.
Bob entered the U.S. Army and served nine years and was a Staff Sergeant.
Bob worked in the oilfields in Seminole area; he also worked at Power Transmission and McMillian Chevrolet as an Auto Mechanic. He also owned Gregory Auto repair.
Bob had also worked for Seminole County District # 1 and Pottawatomie County District 3.
Bob was active in the Maud community, where he served on the Maud School Board for 16 years and enjoyed running the scoreboard at the Maud High School football games.
Bob married Juanita Irene Carpenter in Prague, Okla. on Oct. 13, 1978.
Bob is survived by his wife Juanita Gregory of Maud; two daughters, Robyn Lynn Gregory of Edmond, Okla. and Karen Yavonne Dye of Daytona Beach, Fla.; his granddaughter, Ezabella Reanna Dye of Daytona Beach, Fla.
He is also survived by his step father, Raymond Blain who lives in the Strother’s area north of Seminole; three brothers, Alvin Gregory and his wife Pam of Maud, Anthony Gregory and his wife Charolette of Harrah, Okla. and James Blain and his wife Verdonna of Maud; a step brother, Frank Blain and his wife Linda of Enid, Okla.; and a step sister, Debbie Blain of the Strother’s area.
His mother and father preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013 at the Trinity Baptist Church in Maud. Burial will follow at Cummings Cemetery in Maud with military honors. Rev. Bobby Shatto and Rev. Rusty McMullen will officiate.
Casket bearers will be Stanley Gregory, Tony Lee Gregory, Brandon Blain, Colton Wood, Gage Wood, and Eric Collins.
Honorary bearers will be Justin Carpenter, Chad Quary, Shawn Kubicek, Bob Bassett, Little John Smith and Tony Caudle.
Funeral services are under the direction of Knight-Swearingen Funeral Home in Maud.
