Connie Marie Hughes, 67, longtime Seminole resident died Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2013 at her home in Seminole.
Connie was born Aug. 31, 1946 in Shawnee, Okla. to Paul Lee and Zelda Marie (Smith) Mize.
Connie was a homemaker and a secretary for her husband’s business; Steve Hughes Construction.
She was a loving mother and grandmother who loved to spend time with her grandchildren.
Connie enjoyed being on her boat " The Connie Marie" at Lake Eufaula with her friends and family, riding wave runners with her girl friends and occasionally she liked to go the casino.
Connie was also a graduate of Seminole High School.
Connie married Steve Hughes on Aug. 23, 1974 in Corpus Christi, Tex.
Connie is survived by her loving husband, Steve Hughes of the home in Seminole; two sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Penny Claborn and Steven and Tracy Claborn both of Seminole, and Steve’s daughter, Angela Hodges of Oklahoma City, Okla.; four brothers, Wade Mize, Danny Mize, Gary Mize and Timmy Mize all of Seminole.
She is also survived by her grandchildren, Derek Claborn, Drew Claborn, Dillon Claborn, Madison Claborn and Katie Hodges.
Memorial services will be held 2:00 p.m., Monday, Nov. 18, 2013 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel, in Seminole with Mark Hennen officiating at the service.
Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole is in charge of arrangements.
Walter Hughey
Walter Glen Hughey, former Seminole resident, died Friday, Jan. 18, 2013 in Prague, Okla. at the age of 90.
He was born Dec. 18, 1922 in Chesnee, S.C. to Wofford S. and Lala (Ezell) Hughey.
On May 31, 1947, he married Clevia Campbell in South Carolina; she preceded him in death.
He graduated from Cumberland University and Furman University in Greenville, S.C. where he received his master’s degree.
He retired from Anderson University where he taught math and served as Registrar and Director of Admissions.
He is survived by one son, Walter K. of Prague; one daughter, Linda Key of Bartlesville, Okla.; one brother, Bobby L. Hughey of Greenville, S. C.; three sisters, Wilma Hodges of Easley, S.C., Doris Talley of Greer, S.C., and Jean Forrester of Greer, S.C.; seven grandchildren; and fourteen great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Wofford and Lala Hughey; his wife, Clevia Hughey; a daughter, Adria Boumpous; five brothers, J.D. Hughey, Claude S. Hughey, Dwight Hughey, Jack R. Hughey and K. Pat Hughey.
A graveside memorial service is scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Friday, Jan. 25, 2013 at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in Seminole, Okla.
In lieu of flowers the family asked that donations be made to the American Diabetes Association.
Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
Dr. Clarence Hunter
Dr. Clarence "Cal" Hunter, 86 year-old Paden, Okla. resident went to be with his Lord and Savior Monday, April 8, 2013 from his earthly home in Paden, Okla.
He was born Feb. 2, 1927 in Ft. Smith, Ark. to parents Mary Adline (Brammer) Hunter and Clarence Hunter, Sr.
Dr. Cal is a retired pastor and Director of Missions.
He holds a BA Degree from Oklahoma Baptist University, did two years of graduate studies in clinical psychology at Baylor University, completed four years of medical school at Carver (now Logan Chiropractic College) where he earned his DC Degree.
After eight years of clinical practice, Dr. Cal felt led to enter the ministry.
He served East Side Baptist Church, Marlow, Okla. for two years; First Baptist Church, Tipton, Okla. for 11 years; First Baptist Church of Mooreland, Okla. for eight years.
In 1986, Dr. Cal became the Director of Missions for Northwestern Baptist Foundation with offices in Woodward, Okla., where he served until he retired in 1991.
Dr. Cal also served in the United States Army where he held the rank of Staff Sergeant serving in World War II.
He earned the Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon, the World War II Victory Medal and the Philippine Independence Ribbon.
In retirement, Dr. Cal continued active in ministry. He served as part-time pastor of Wolf Baptist Church, Seminole, Okla., for four years.
He was then called to minister at Highway Baptist Church in Seminole where he served until his second retirement in 2007.
In 2003, Dr. Cal went back to school. In 2007, after three years of arduous study, he earned his Doctor of Religious Studies degree from Trinity Theological Seminary in Newberg, Ind., and in 2013 he received his PhD, also from Trinity.
Dr. Cal and his wife, Susie, made their home in Paden, Okla.
Dr. Cal continued to conduct lectures and seminars on the subject of his books and preached occasionally as a supply preacher.
Dr. Cal was a licensed, instrument rated airplane pilot with almost 1600 hours flight time.
He was also an Amateur Radio Operator (Ham) with advanced license.
In October of 1958, Dr. Cal married Wilma "Jean" (Jamison) in Wichita Falls, Tex. Sadly she preceded him in death on March 23, 2009.
He later married "Susie" (Clonts) Leonard on Jan. 4, 2010 in Paden, Okla.
Dr. Cal leaves to cherish his memories, his wife Susie Hunter of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Cindy Hunter of Owasso, Okla., Rick and Carol Hunter of Prague, Okla.; one step-son, Kevin Belford of Meeker, Okla.; one brother and sister-in-law, Weldon and Doris Snow of Ramona, California; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and a host of other family and dear friends.
Dr. Cal is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Alvin Hunter and Pete Snow and his wife of 50 years Jean Hunter who passed away March 23, 2009.
Funeral services with military honors are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 11, 2013 at Highway Baptist Church north of Seminole with Dr. Don Chaffin and Rev. Dick McClure officiating the service. Interment will follow at Little Cemetery.
Casket Bearers will be Chad Jackson, Rick Hunter, Mike Hunter, Kelly Joplin, Chris Holland and Owen Gibson.
Honorary Bearers will be Dean Anderson, Butch Pinson, Gerald Carter, Randall Hunter and Craig Hobbs.
The family requests that donations be sent to the Lottie Moon Foreign Missions, the Gideon International Organization or to the charity of your choice in memory of Dr. Cal Hunter.

Guy Hutchison
Funeral services for Guy Walker Hutchison, age 89 years are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 19, 2013 at Stout-Phillips Funeral Home with Pastor Dan Factor and burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery.
He was born Sept. 5, 1924 in Cromwell, Okla. to the late Guy Walker Hutchison Sr. and Pearl Conrad Hutchison.
He was a member of AKASVMKV Baptist Church of Wewoka, VFW, American Legion.
He loved to fish, garden, and visit with his family and friends and served his country with the US Army.
Guy was the owner of Hutchison service center for more than 30 years.
He was married to Norma Quae Hall, she preceded him in death in 1954 and later married Juanita Martin and she preceded him in death also.
Survivors include sons, Thomas "Tommy" G. Hutchison of Wewoka, Terry L. Hutchison and wife Gwen of McAlester, and Keith Hutchison and wife Yvette of New Lima; brothers and sisters, Margie Hutchison of Calif., Patricia Thomas of Lawton, and Phillip Hutchison of Cromwell; seven grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Preceding him in death are his parents; two wives; four sisters; and three brothers.
Arrangements are by Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.
Floyd Ingram
Floyd Ray Ingram, a life long Seminole County resident passed away Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013 in Seminole, Okla. at the age of 72.
Floyd was born Feb. 16, 1940 in Alma, Okla. to parents Burl James Ingram and Cloma (Taylor) Ingram.
Floyd moved to the Seminole area in 1970 from Fox, Okla.
Floyd was employed at Atlantic Richfield Corporation, Oil & Gas Production, where he was a Gas Plant Operator before retirement in 1995.
He was a member of The Trinity Baptist Church of Maud, Okla., the Oddfellows Lodge and the Moose Lodge.
Floyd married Faye (Rafaela Martinez) Ingram on Sept. 5, 1958 in Gainesville, Tex.
Floyd is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Faye Ingram of the home; three daughters, Terrie Goss and her husband Steve of Maud, Connie Ingram and her husband Charles Forbes of Colleyville, Tex. and Shelly Eckerman and her husband Tom of Hamburg, Germany.
He is also survived by his three grandsons, Justin Goss and his wife Andrea of Bethany, Okla., Chance Taber of Shawnee, Okla. and Cody Goss of Maud.
Floyd was preceded in death by his grandfather, Deb Taylor; grandmother, Frankie Henderson; father, Burl Ingram; and mother, Cloma Randolph.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole. Rev. Carl Whitfield will officiate at the service.
The family will receive friends and family at a special visitation time Friday evening Feb. 8, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole.
Floyd will be permanently memorialized at Whispering Waters Cremation Garden of Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park in Colleyville, Tex.
Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole.
Wilma Ingram
Wilma (Selvey) Ingram, Sapulpa, Okla., passed away at Grace Living Center in Jenks, Okla., on Sept. 30, 2013, at the age of 93.
She was born July 5, 1920, to Lawrence and Lillian Selvey in Billings, Okla.
Wilma graduated from Drumright High School in Drumright, Okla., in 1938.
In 1939, she married Edward R. Ingram of Drumright.
She was a homemaker until the death of her husband in 1974, whereupon she went to work as a Wal-Mart associate in Sapulpa. Starting as a checker and stock clerk, she rose to associate manager of housewares before retiring.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Sapulpa.
She formerly resided in Wewoka.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 34 years and her parents.
She is survived by daughter, Jeanette Young and husband, Kent Young of Tulsa; son, Merlin Ingram and wife, Judy of Tulsa; granddaughter, Leslie D. Young and great grandson, Tristen Jon Wolf of Conifer, Colo.; grandson, David Ingram; great grandson, Alexander, and great granddaughter, Olivia, of Tulsa; two brothers, Walter Selvey and wife, Wanda of Yukon, Okla.; and Vernon Selvey and wife, Mable of Waynoka, Okla. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
A celebration of life was held at Smith Funeral Home, 1208 South Main, Sapulpa, at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013. Burial followed at Green Hills Memorial Gardens in Sapulpa.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, 825 Northeast 13th Street, Oklahoma City, OK 73104.
