Rose Lee (Maxwell) Jenkins, 84, resident of Byng, Okla., and a former resident of Konawa, Okla, died Monday, March 4, 2013 at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City.
Graveside services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 7th at Rosedale Cemetery in Ada, Okla., under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Konawa. Rev. Mitch Williams, Pastor of Byng Assembly of God Church will officiate.
Visitation will be at Swearingen Funeral Home in Konawa on Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.
She was born Nov. 15, 1928 in Ada to Henry Maxwell and Carrie (Palmer) Maxwell.
She was a graduate of Ada High School and married Luther Lee Jenkins on Sept. 14, 1947 in Ada.
She is survived by four daughters, Elaine Dryberge of Redding, Calif., Helen Jenkins of Castor Valley, Calif., Warnette Conway of Edmond, Okla., and Marie Jenkins of Byng; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Carrie Maxwell; her husband, Luther L. Jenkins; and two sisters, Jane Coleman Navarath and Addie May Coddle.
William Jesse
William David "Butch" Jesse, died Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013 in Cushing, Okla. at the age of 56.
He was born Oct. 9, 1956 in Claremore, Okla. to George Jesse and Bertha Cully Jesse.
He married Jimmie Larney in 1985 and was a transit supervisor for the Muskogee Creek Nation.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Alex Jesse and Keith Barkus; and a granddaughter.
Survivors include his wife, Jimmie of the Holdenville home; children, Sanders McLemore, T. J. Jesse, Jennifer Jesse, and Bunnie Bo Jesse; 14 grandchildren; and one sister, Linda Kay Jesse Larney.
Wake will be 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2013 at Stout-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel.
The body will be taken to Spring Baptist Church at 10:00 on Thursday, Sept. 12, 2013 for a 2:00 p.m. funeral service with Rev. Farren Coody and Rev Frank Moppin officiating, and burial at Spring Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be T.J. Jesse, Sanders McLemore, Sanders McLemore Jr., Nick McGirt, Bunnie Jesse, James Larney.
Honorary pallbearers are Mose Lindsey, Ca-te Jesse, Charley LaSarge, Chris Hill, and Zake Thomas.

Herman Johnson Jr.
OT Herman Johnson, Jr., 83, Seminole resident died, Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2013 at Wewoka, Okla.
OT was born May 24, 1930 in Yeager, Okla. to OT Herman Johnson, Sr. and Pearlie M. (Cummings) Johnson.
Herman moved to the Seminole area from Oklahoma City, Okla. about four months ago.
He had worked for the Daily Oklahoman, a Landscaper for McFall Nursery, Coke-Cola Company, Clay Pipe Company, East of Seminole and Brach’s Candy Company.
He attended the Lima Highway Church of God in Christ, and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
OT is survived by his five daughters; Faye Peters and Patricia Hunt of Wewoka, Audrey Eldridge of Seminole, Tina Johnson of Earlsboro and Loretta Johnson of Tulsa; two brothers, Cleatus Berry of Oklahoma City and Arthur J. Berry of Wetumka; three sisters, Gertie Armstrong of Spencer, Okla., Joyce Marzett of Los Angles, Calif., and Edna Jean Matt of Ponca City, Okla.; twenty-one grandchildren and forty-two great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a stepfather, James Berry; brothers, D.C. Berry and Robert Berry; a sister, Eldra Lee Jenkins; and a granddaughter, Tonisa Talton.
Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 30, 2013 at the Healing Branches at 309 N. 2nd Street in Seminole with Elder Wesley R. Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at the Wisener Cemetery near Wetumka, Okla.
Casket bearers will be Dedric Johnson, Curry Alexander, Cedric Barkus, Ellis Ross Bruner, Delvin Madkins and John LaBacc Davis.
Honorary bearers will be Lenard Johnson, Dorris Brewer, Booker T. Hughes and L.B. Alexander.

Jimmy Johnson Jr.
Holdenville resident Jimmy Johnson Jr. passed away Nov. 27, 2013 in Hughes County at the age of 59 years.
He was born Sept. 8, 1954 in Oklahoma City to the late Jimmy Johnson Sr. and Lena Mae Noah.
Jimmy loved fishing, sports especially OU football and basketball.
He will be remembered as a wonderful father, brother, and friends.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He attended Seminole State College and at the time of his death was a laborer in construction.
Preceding Jimmy in death are his parents.
Survivors include his children, Pesuchukma CJ Johnson of Seminole, Echoille Johnson of Seminole, and Jimmy Johnson III of Holdenville; eight grandchildren; one brother, Floyd Johnson of Holdenville; three sisters, Brenda Johnson, Loretta Johnson, and Peggy Rodriquez all of Wewoka; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Wake services will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2013 at Stout-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel with Rev Ed Bear officiating.

Kaden Johnson
Services for Kaden Dewayne Johnson are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Friday, Feb. 8, 2013 at New Life Church Wewoka with Dewayne Davis officiating, assisted by Brother Earl Scroggins. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
Kaden was born April 18, 2004 in Ada, Okla. to Keri and Derek Johnson.
He departed this life Saturday, Feb. 2nd, 2013 in Oklahoma City, Okla at the age of 8 years old.
Kaden was a third grader at Justice Schools.
He was an avid outdoors man, loving to ride four wheelers, horses, playing football, basketball and baseball.
Kaden never met a stranger and he was a Daddy's boy enjoying every minute together.
Kaden was A Life Share Doner.
Preceding Kaden in death are his great-grandparents, Leon and Jean Davis, Richard Hair; Raymond Johnson, Clarice Tillery; Aunt Staci Gore; and Uncle Sgt James Dutton.
Survivors include his parents, Keri and Derek Johnson; sister, Makala Pack; grandparents, Allen and Nancy Tillery, Andy and Billie Johnson, Jimmy and Debbie Basquez, Trina and James Dutton; great-grandparents, Juanita Hair, Barbara Harjo, and Jim Basquez, many aunts, uncles, cousins and host of other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers are Jordan Tillery, Hunter Lunsford, Prentice Perry, Ryan Chaney, Seth Johnson, and Lonnell Alexander.

LaVernne Johnson
LaVernne Johnson, 76, of Gorham, Kans. died on Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at the Golden Living Center in Wilson, Kans.
She was born Nov. 21, 1936, in Rooks County, Kans., the daughter of Vernon and Leah (Mayo) Matheson.
She grew up in the Natoma, Kans. area and graduated from Natoma High School in 1954.
She was married to Chester Webster on June 23, 1954.
Later she was married to Carl Johnson.
Both Chester and Carl preceded her in death.
She worked as a cook at Irene’s Café in Russell.
Surviving family include her daughter, Doris Steinert of St. John, Kans. and son, Henry D. Webster of Shawnee, Okla.; brothers, Verneal Matheson of Holcomb, Kans. and Calvin Matheson of Iola, Kans.; sisters, Verna Munk of Gorham, Kans. and Mary Logsdon of Ponca City, Okla.; one grandchild, five great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her two husbands, Chester and Carl; and sister, Patricia Brown
A graveside celebration will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 30, 2013 at the Mt. Hermon Cemetery near Paradise, Kans. with Pastor Sharon Thomas officiating.
Burial will follow immediately after the graveside service.
Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 29, 2013 at Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary in Russell.
Memorials may be given to the Russell Food Pantry and sent in care of the mortuary.
Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
Marie Johnson
Marie Kathryn Johnson, 95, Seminole resident died, Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013 in Seminole.
Marie was born Dec. 29, 1917 in Herington, Kans. to Dennis Frances and Marie Lydia (Schwartz) Healy.
Marie lived in Junction City, Kans. for many years before moving to Seminole in 1989.
She was the County Treasurer for Geary County in Junction City, Kans. She retired in 1989 after holding that position for 25 years.
Marie attended Kansas State University and was a member of the Chi Omega Sorority there.
Marie married Walter Johnson on Sept. 27, 1940 in Ness City, Kans and he preceded her in death on June 17, 1987.
After moving to Seminole she became active in her church and the Mary Group at the First United Methodist Church.
She was a member of P.E.O., loved to read, shop and do water aerobics.
She enjoyed watching her grandchildren’s activities and being able to watch them grow up.
She is survived by her two daughters, Julie Moddelmog and her husband Ron of Seminole and Jan Cadenhead and her husband Ed of Seminole; her grandchildren, Kimberly Arthurs and her husband Zak, Brian Moddelmog and his wife Megan, Jill Oglesbee and her husband Dean, Jack Candenhead and his wife Brandi and Scott Cadenhead and his wife Tiffany along with ten great-grandchildren.
Her parents, ; her husband Walter; two children, Pamela and Dennis Johnson; and a brother, Clarence Healy, preceded her in death.
Memorial services will be held 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2013 at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Gary O. Wilburn officiating.
Memorial donations may be made to the Family Resource Center and the First United Methodist Church, both in Seminole, in Marie’s name.
