Phyllis Kueneman

Phyllis Sue (Curley) Kueneman, 67, lifelong area resident died Friday, Oct. 11, 2013 at Midwest City Regional Hospital in Midwest City.

She was born Feb. 10, 1946 in Phoenix, Ariz. to Albert Curley, Sr. and Cleta Magdalena (Rhodd) Curley.

She attended Maud Public Schools and a member of the Citizen Pottowatomi Tribe of Oklahoma.

Survivors include her son, Gary Kueneman of Maud; one brother, Albert Curley Jr. of Maud; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Doniva June Armstrong.

Cremation services are under the direction of Knight-Swearingen Funeral Home in Maud.

Walter Lamb

10/02/1917 - 03/28/2013

Walter Haskell Lamb, age 95 and a long-time resident of Konawa, Okla. passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2013 at Valley View Hospital in Ada, Okla.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 1st at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Konawa. Pastor Jerry States will officiate. Burial will follow in Konawa Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Walt Lamb, Byron Lamb, Donald Lamb, Dwight Butler, Bob Butler, and Charles Gladden.

Honorary Pallbearers are David Roe, Michael Roe, and Jim Watts. Visitation Easter Sunday will be from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.

Walter was born on Oct. 2, 1917 in Valiant, Okla. to Joseph R. Lamb and Lula A. (Williams) Lamb.

He was a retired Lt. Col. Air Force Pilot who had served in the military for over twenty-four years. He served in WWII, Korea and Vietnam during his time of service.

He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church of Ada.

He married Wilma Jean (Crenshaw) Butler on July 20, 1986 in Ada. They have lived in Konawa for over 26 years.

He loved planes, old cars and talking about the military days.

He is survived by his wife, Wilma Lamb of the home; two sons, Rod Lamb of Phoenix, Ariz., and Michael Lamb of Phoenix, Ariz.; two step-sons, Bob Butler of Konawa, and Dwight Butler of Oklahoma City; three step-daughters, Sharron Gladden of Konawa, Donna Walker of Konawa, and Teresa Miley of Tex.; eighteen grandchildren; twenty-seven great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers and four sisters; one daughter, Carolyn Watts; and one grandson, Joey Gladden.

Jack Landrum

Jack Hugh Landrum, age 86, of Okemah, Okla. died Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2013 at St. Anthony Hospital in Shawnee.

A Memorial service is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 13, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Walker Funeral Service. Marvin Kehl will officiate.

Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.

Jack Hugh Landrum was born May 29, 1927 in Seminole, Okla. the son of Almer Houston Landrum and Bessie (Dawson) Landrum.

He attended schools in Seminole County.

He served in the United States Army.

On May 23, 1953, he married Phyllis (Darmer).

Jack started working in the oilfields as a roughneck but became a superintendant before retiring.

He moved to Okemah in 1983 and been a rancher ever since.

He enjoyed working cattle, running his dozer, and going to the lake.

Preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Joe "Junior", Don, and Joyce Landrum; two sisters, Audrey Addington, and Cybil Berry.

Survived by wife, Phyllis Landrum of the home; three children: Tony Landrum of Tampa, Fla., Ron Landrum and wife DeVonna of Okemah, Kim Porter and husband Ross of Amber, Okla.; four grandchildren, Carla, Thomas, Jacquelyn, and Austin; three sisters, Jo Rehage of Dallas, Tex., Odrey Muncy of Shawnee, Doretha Lowery of Shawnee; and several nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Walker Funeral Service is in charge of funeral arrangements.

Kathlene Landrum

Kathlene Ruth Landrum, 57, lifelong Seminole resident, died Tuesday, June 25, 2013 in Seminole, Okla.

Kathlene was born March 22, 1956 in Oklahoma, to Frank and Edith Vivian (McGill) Kelley.

Kathlene grew up in Seminole and became a Registered Nurse for her working career.

Her husband, Rodney Tolleson of Bowlegs, Okla.; two sons, Anthoney Landrum of Seminole, Okla. and Robert Landrum of Walters, Okla.; a brother, Dean Kelley of Konawa, Okla. and five grandchildren survive Kathlene.

Her mother, Edith Addington, and her father, Frank Kelley, and a nephew Gaylord Kelley preceded her in death.

Funeral services are planned for 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 29, 2013 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Carl Whitfield officiating.

Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole is in charge of arrangements.

Tim Larney

Tim Lee Larney, 54, a resident of Konawa, Okla. died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013 at Integris Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City.

Visitation is Friday, Feb. 1 at Swearingen Funeral Home in Konawa until 4:00 p.m., and a Wake service is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Friday, Feb. 1 at the family home, located at 35037 EW 1350 north of Konawa on Hwy 9A.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 2 at the home under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa. Pastor Allen will officiate.

Pallbearers are Brian Spriggs, Skyland Tanyan, Larry Harjo, Gus Porter, Kyle Porter, and Calvin Toney.

Honorary pallbearers are Tom Harjo, Paul Tillery, Jerry Walker, and Danny Walker.

He was born Nov. 24, 1958 in Pawnee, Okla. to Alex Larney Sr. and Valerine Lasley.

He was a graduate of Konawa High School and graduated from Southwest Univeristy in Weatherford, Okla. with a Certificate in Auto Mechanics.

He married Teresa Tillery on May 19, 1993 in Jacksonville, Ill.

He is survived by his wife, Teresa Larney of the home; three sons, Jimka Larney and Anthony Larney of the home, and Jeremy Larney of Montana; his mother, Valerine Lasley of Shawnee; three daughters, Winnefred Larney of Weatherford, Charlotte Larney of Shawnee, and Lintina Larney also of Shawnee; three sisters, Teresa Larney of Shawnee, Mary Harjo of Shawnee, and Debra Toney of Tecumseh; and one grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his father, Alex Larney, Sr., one brother, Alex Larney, Jr., and one sister, Leah Ann Larney.

Bobby Laxton

Bobby Lee "Bob" Laxton, 82 year-old, former Seminole resident died Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013 in Dowling Park, Fl.

He was born July 17, 1930 in Seminole to parents Homer Lee Laxton and Viola Taylor Laxton.

He married Freida Mae Gentry on Dec. 18, 1950 in Snyder, Tex. She preceded him in death.

He had worked for General Motors for many years before his retirement.

Survivors include two sons, David Laxton of Live Oak, Fla. and Bobby Laxton of Athens, Ala.; two sisters, Maxine Davis of Laverne, Okla. and Carolyn Yerby of Seminole; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole. Fred Williams will officiate the service.

Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Seminole.

Casket bearers will be Brad Laxton, Chad Laxton, Lee Laxton, Travis Laxton, Ronnie Laxton and Keith Laxton.

Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.

Hanna Lee

Hanna Mae Lee, life long Seminole resident died Wednesday June 5, 2013 in Seminole, at the age of 71.

She was born Oct. 24, 1941 in Wewoka, Okla. to Jimka Larney and Ida Mae (Baker) Larney.

She was a graduate from Strother High School.

She was employed at Doyle’s Quick Stop as a cashier for 26 years.

She married Kenneth Lee on Feb. 15, 1974 in Oklahoma City, Okla.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth of the home; one son, Chebon Lee of Newalla, Okla.

She was preceded in death by her parents; half-brother, Elmer Larney and one sister, Claudia Reed Larney.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 8, 2013 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Jason Peters and Rick Deer officiating. Burial will take place at Little Cemetery, Little, Okla.

Casket bearers are Dave Anderson, Jimmy Howard, Ollie Adams, Terry Thomason, Randolph Larney and William Larney.

Honorary bearer is Rowe Kishketon.

Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole.

Hildreth Lee

Hildreth "Elaine" Lee born Nov. 17, 1934 went to be with our Lord and Savior Sept. 2, 2013.

She was 78 years old.

Elaine will join her first husband, John Mayo and daughter, Linda Mayo as well as her parents, Nell Harper and Robert Harper, all of Dallas, Tex.

Elaine is survived by many loved ones including husband, Kenneth Lee of Holdenville and daughter, Sandy Mayo-Orr and son in law, Mike Orr of Richardson, Tex.; her brother, Tom Harper of Dallas, Tex.; stepchildren and spouses, Tommy and Lise Lee of Weeletka, Mike and Laurie Lee of Austin, Tex., Cheryl and Danny McDonald of Wylie, Tex.; three grandsons, John, Donald, Vincent Boyer and their spouses, Melissa, April, and Kelli, all from Dallas, Tex.; granddaughter, Whitney Boyer of Richardson, Tex.; and grandson, Michael and spouse, Jennifer Orr of Mustang, Okla.; great granddaughters include, Jasmine, Gabby, Kailee, Rylee, and Ashley Boyer; great grandsons include, Nicholas, Hunter and Josh, all of Dallas, Tex.; and leaves numerous nieces, nephews and sister in laws.

Elaine was born and raised in Dallas, Tex. and moved to Holdenville, Okla., after the passing of her first husband, John in 1974.

She now resides in "Heaven".

Elaine was a great mother, wife, grandmother, great granmother and a "friend to many".

In Earlier years, when her health permitted, she loved to garden, cook and play bridge.

She was the owner of "Country Corner" convenience store in Holdenville, Okla., in her earlier years, now known as "Amys".

Elaine was a Christian and member of Faith Freewill Baptist Church in Holdenville, Okla. and past member of St. Johns Methodist Church in Dallas, Tex., and the Womens Auxillary group of each including the S-Miles Womens Circle Group of St Johns Church.

Elaine was so thankful for Brother Earl and her Church Family at Freewill Baptist.

She was blessed to have had Shirley Carpenter, Phyllis Streater and Sharon Cummins in her life as dear friends.

Honorary pallbearers are Larry Streater, Jim Keefer, Kevin Green, JC Kanard and Mike Orr.

She is in Heaven now and her suffering has ended.

Now she will walk in Heaven and serve Her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

As long as we have our memories, Elaine will forever live in our hearts.

Elaine, I Love you and I will miss you, until I see you again. Your Loving Husband Kenneth.

Wait with Daddy and Linda for me Mom. I will join you all one day. Your Loving Daughter, Sandy.
