Mildred Lindley

Okemah resident Mildred C Lindley, age 90 departed this life Sunday, Nov. 24, 2013 in Oklahoma City.

She was born Dec. 10, 1922 in Weatherford, Okla. to the late Curgil and Effie (Pulis) Blair.

She was a graduate of Eakley Schools and a member of Cromwell First Baptist Church.

She married Milton Lindley Jr. in 1961 at Ada, Okla., he preceded her in death in 2011.

Mildred worked a number of years for Ray's Feed & Seeds, Okemah, and later Butner public schools as bus driver for handicap.

Preceding Mildred in death are her parents; brothers and sisters, Donald Blair, Archie Blair, Pauline Firquain, and Della Mae Enyart.

Survivors include son, Carl Joe Lindley of Seminole, and daughter, Cathy Lindley of Okemah; grandchildren, Shanie Gilbert of Shawnee, Dakota Lindley of Seminole, David Lane Lindley of Keller, Tex., Justin Maxwell, and Seminole; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Memorial services will be 1:00 p.m. Dec. 10, 2013 at Stout-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Fred Lindsey, officiating.

Pallbearers will be Johnny Myers, Jack Schultz, Ted Tucker, Clyde Enyard, Bodey Blair, Milton Donaghey, Bart Donaghey, and Jamie Donaghey.

Arrangements are by Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.

Thomas Lindsey

Thomas Lee Lindsey, 54, lifelong Seminole resident died, Monday, July 22, 2013 at the Seminole Care and Rehab Center.

Thomas was born Aug. 9, 1958 in Talihina, Okla. to Willie Lindsey and Lizzie (Coody) Lindsey.

Thomas lived in Seminole all his life and attended and graduated from Pleasant Grove School.

He had worked for Coates Roofing Company in Seminole and as a truck driver for M & M Oil Gas Distributors for Exxon and also worked in Seminole Oilfield.

Thomas loved to joke with friends and family and loved his woodworking and artwork.

Thomas is survived by his son, Beau Lindsey and two daughters, Tonya Lindsey and Wynter Smith all of Seminole, Okla.; five brothers, Bobby Jack Spencer, Eugene (Sonny) Lindsey, Gene Lindsey and Leroy Mitchell all of Seminole, Okla. and Jimmy Lindsey of Oklahoma City, Okla.; two sisters, Auggie Laiwa and Dorothy Davis both of Seminole, Okla.; seven grandchildren, Matthew, Stefayne and Clifford Dillon, Eric Smith and Autumn and Shyanne Lindsey and Audrina Smith.

His parents and three brothers and two sisters preceded Thomas in death.

Funeral services are planned for 10:30 a.m., Friday, July 26, 2013 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Little Cemetery.

Wake services will be held Thursday, July 25, 2013 from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel.

Casket bearers will be Chris Moon, Tim Davis, Jimpsey Tiger, B. J. Fixico, Tim Lindsey, James Marshall and Steven Files.

Honorary Bearers will be "Big" Ray Bristow, Curtis T. Harjo, Simon Harjo and Mark Jones.

Funeral services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.

Clifford Little

Clifford Lee Little died Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013 at Oklahoma City, Okla. at the age of 63.

He was born Jan. 7, 1950 in Claremore, Okla. to parents Charles Little and Cora (King) Little.

He moved from Shawnee, Okla. to Oklahoma County 15 years ago.

He served in the United States Army.

He was a member of the Seminole Nation of Oklahoma.

He married Cheryl (Carter) Little in Oklahoma City in 2006.

He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Little of the home; two sons, Benjamin Little of Shawnee, and Mark Little of Shawnee; one daughter, Dee Ann Little of Shawnee; two brothers, Thomas Little and Samuel Little and one sister, Patricia Little of Ada, Okla.; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Cora Little and one brother, Clarence Leon Little.

Funeral service will be held 10:00 Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev Kelly Tiger, Jr. and Rev. David Little officiating. Burial will take place at Little Cemetery, Little, Okla.

A wake will be held Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Funeral services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole.

Noel Lively

Noel Dale Lively, 86, of Stigler died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013 at his home following a courageous fight with cancer.

He was born on Sept. 23, 1926 in Okemah, Okla. to Shelton and Grace Lively (McClannahan).

Dale operated and maintained the Last Splash Sawmill.

As a prominent member of "Who’s Who of the American West" he was a man with character who would captivate audiences with his homespun tales of his many life lessons.

He was loved and cherished by many and a true touchstone for his children.

Not one for pomp or circumstance, Dale has requested to be cremated.

A celebration of his life as an annual event will commence in June. Please contact the family for further details.

He is survived by one daughter, Nancy Catherine (Lively) Favret and husband Bob of Tillamook, Ore.; two sons, Larry Dale "Rusty" Lively and wife Susan of Brooken, Ted Lively and wife Pam of Warrenton, Ore.; eight grandchildren, Montey Favret and wife Jenny of Durham, N.C., Paul Favret and wife Sylvia of Sidalia, Colo., Shawn Dale Lively and wife Krystal of Brooken, Heather Maxine Hurlburt and husband Justin of Muskogee, Sara Beth Borges and husband John of Muskogee, Joshua Henry Lively and wife Amanda of Murrieta, Calif., Julie Willis of Indiana, Pa., Brian Willis of Concord, Pa.; twenty two great grandchildren, Russell and Kelsey Favret, Jake and Luke Favret, Anthony and Aric Bush, Shelton and Dalton Lively, Mattie Hurlburt, Marissa, Evan, Ian, Jolie Borges, Noah, Catherine, Lilly Lively, Jacob, Zachary, Byron, Dianna, Ethan, Aidoann Lively; one great great grandchild, Kaleb Aric Bush; four brothers, Dwaine Ewell Lively, James Kelland Lively, Dwight Bey Lively, Ronald Bruce Lively.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Arletta Lively; two sisters, Violet Ketchell-Martinez, Catherine Lee Lively; two brothers, Glen Shelton Lively, Earl Romeo "Romey" Lively.

Cremation will be under the direction of King and Shearwood Funeral Home of Stigler.

Cora Long

Cora Alene Long, former Seminole resident passed away Monday, Aug. 12, 2013 in Pinellas Park, Fla., she was 87 years old.

Alene was born Sept. 11, 1925 in Coalgate, Okla. to parents, Andrew Johnson Craver and Mary Ethel (Thornton) Craver.

After graduation she entered into the food service industry where she served as a grocery checker.

Alene was of the Baptist faith.

She married Charlie Frank Long on March 31, 1945 in Oklahoma City, Okla. he preceded her in death on April 7, 1973.

Alene is survived by two daughters, Mary LaDonna Reynolds of Avondale, Ariz. and Judith Lynn Cleary of Largo, Fla.; one son, Danny Charles Long of Conroe, Tex.; two brothers, Charles Craver of Belen, N.M. and Jimmie Dale Craver of Springfield, Mo.; two granddaughters, Stephanie Lynn Sellers of Arizona and Brianne Siobahn Cleary-Brown of Florida; four grandsons, Shawn Michael Cleary, Timothy Charles Cleary, Travis Brent Cleary all of Florida, and Joshua Brett Long of Texas; one great-granddaughter, Delaney Samantha Sellers; three great-grandsons, Liam Patrik Cleary of North Carolina and twins, Kyran Dane Cleary and Gavin Brent Cleary of Alabama.

Alene was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Charlie Frank Long.

Visitation with the family will be 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Friday, Aug. 16, 2013 at Swearingen Funeral Home.

Graveside funeral services are scheduled for 3:00 p.m. Friday, Aug. 16, 2013 at Little Cemetery, Little, Okla.

Ima Long

Ima Joan Long age 79 of Sasakwa, Okla. passed away in Oklahoma City and was called to eternal life on Jan. 12, 2013.

Joan was born on May 30, 1933 to Ammon Hansford and Ima Atlas Reich.

On April 8, 1950 she married the love of her life Everett Melvin Long and together they were blessed with three daughters and one son.

Melvin and Joan owned and operated E. M. Long Trucking Company INC, in Seminole County for over 30 years.

Joan was preceded in death by her parents, Ammon and Atlas Rose Reich, husband Melvin Long and son Rickey Long, brothers Clarence Reich, Ivan Reich, Lawrence Reich, Jack Reich, Sherman Reich, Herbert Reich, A. H. Reich, one sister, Marie Landreth, and one grandson Eddie Ace Neill and granddaughter Jody Long.

Surviving Joan are brothers, Millard Reich, Jerry and Carolyn Reich, Larry Reich, Lester and Demiah Reich, daughters Linda Wyrick, Nancy Neill and husband Ace, Jeannie Hill all of Sasakwa and daughter-in-law Mary Long of Kansas, a sister-in-law Norma Reich, Sasakwa.

Joan was beloved by her grandchildren Paul Mariott, Keith Mariott, Melvin Joe Mariott, Jeremy Douglas, Rachel Knox, Elizabeth Long, Jamie Long, Joshua Long, Joseph Long, nineteen great grandchildren and a host of extended family and long time friends.

Pallbearers: Jerry Reich, Larry Reich, Lester Reich, Dave Reich, James Landreth and Ace Neill.

Honorary Bearers: Arnold Melton, Millard Reich, Roger Reich and Kenneth Reich.

Services were held at the Stout-Phillips Funeral Home Jan. 16, 2013 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Wesley Martin officiating. Burial was at Oakwood Cemetery in Wewoka.

A family meal will be prepared and served at 12:00 at Joan's home in Sasakwa, 13825 State Hwy 56. All family members and friends are invited to attend.

Ima Long

Ima Joan Long, age 79, of Sasakwa, Okla. passed away in Oklahoma City and was called to eternal life on Jan. 12, 2013.

Billy Looney

Billy G. Looney, 79, Wewoka resident died Monday, Aug. 26, 2013 at his home on Wewoka Lake.

Billy was born Sept. 25, 1933 in Walnut Ridge, Ark. to Clarence and Thelma (Spargo) Looney.

Billy retired from Jones and Laughton Steel Mill in East Chicago, Ill. after 30 years and made his home in Oklahoma with his friend Maxine Riley.

His children Larry Looney and his wife Tammy of Leitersford, Ind., Garry Looney of Utah, Jessie Startup and her husband Kevin of Rochester, Ind., Patty Ribar and husband Richard of Valparaiso, Ind. and Cindy Joiner of Portage, Ind. survive him. Two sisters Maxine Kositotes and Linda Looney, sixteen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren also survive him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Russell Looney; two brothers, Edward and Jimmy Looney; and three sisters, Deloris, Ruth and Janice.

Billy leaves behind a legacy of a loving life, in all it’s simplicity and was loved by everyone. Dad will be dearly missed.

A special thanks to Loving Care Hospice of Shawnee, Okla., Dad’s neighbors for kindness and support.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in Billy’s memory.

Arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
