Jimmy D. "Jim" Morphis, 76, of Wewoka, Okla., went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Feb. 27th, 2013. He was surrounded by family and friends.
He was born Sept. 3rd, 1936, in Bearden, Okla., the son of the late Alice and Robert Morphis. He was the middle of three siblings.
On Dec. 30, 1988, he married Patricia Kay Morphis, who survives.
Jim attended high school in Bakersfield, Calif., and spent the majority of his life working between Oklahoma and California as a journeyman mechanic.
He was an active member of the First Assembly of God Church in Wewoka, where he served many years as a Deacon.
Jim was a devoted family man. He took great joy in being surrounded by his children, step-children, and numerous grandchildren.
He was well known for his kind heart, generous spirit, and hearty laugh.
He loved fishing and being outdoors. He could build anything, fix anything, and when all else failed, he was adept a holding things together with duct tape, spare parts, and prayer. "Ay-lau."
He is survived by his wife, Pat; his brother, Steve Morphis and sister-in-law, Joyce Morphis of Wewoka; his sister, Ruth Louise McCuan and brother-in-law, William McCuan of Cromwell; his daughter, Betty Burgeis and son-in-law Donald Burgeis of Tehachapi, Calif.; his daughter, Diane Morphis and friend Dan Patrick of Bakersfield, Calif.; his son, Gore Gaines and daughter-in-law Julie Gaines of Edmond, Okla.; his son, Tim Gaines and daughter-in-law Melanie Gaines of Shawnee, Okla.; his son, Torrey Gaines and daughter-in-law Shannon Gaines of Konawa, Okla.; eleven grandchildren, Stephanie, Kesha, Crystal, Dwayne, Kathryn, Hannah, Casey, Luke, Colby, Audrey and Gray; six great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and his recliner-buddy Harley.
Our family wishes to express our gratitude to Jim’s many friends and Heritage Village of Holdenville who supported him with friendship, love and prayers during his last illness.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, March 2, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at the Hilltop Family Worship Center of Wewoka, Okla.
Funeral arrangements will be provided by Fisher Funeral Home of Holdenville.
James Morris
James Warren Morris "Jimmy" was born to Pete and La Wana Morris on June 23, 1953 in Oklahoma City, Okla. and passed away with family by his side in Seminole, Okla. on Dec. 14, 2013.
He is survived by children, Jennifer, Jimmy, and Joseph Morris; seven grandchildren; brothers and sister, John and Evelyn, Jesse and Leslie, Jerry and Jan, Jane Calhoun, and Jeff and Carol Morris; 18 nephews and nieces.
Services to celebrate his life will be at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 19, 2013 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 2100 Arlington St. Ada, Okla.
Jimmy will be interred at a later date in California with his parents.

Mary Morris
Mary Vivian Morris, 97, Seminole resident, died Saturday, April 13, 2013 in Seminole, Okla.
Vivian was born Aug. 27, 1915 in Seminole, Okla. to Winford Fizer Matthews and Ara Dell (Barnett) Matthews.
Vivian grew up in Seminole and graduated from Seminole High School and Seminole Junior College. She attended East Central University in Ada, Okla.
She married Harold Wayne Morris on Oct 4, 1936, in Seminole, Okla.
They lived in Duncan, Okla. for over 52 years. Vivian came back to Seminole in 2005, after Harold’s death.
Vivian was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Self-Culture Club and the Sosum Club in Duncan, Okla. She also helped organize the "Kiddies College" in 1949-1950 in Seminole for Kindergarten Age Children.
Vivian had worked in retail sales at "Reba’s" in Duncan, Okla. and Lucille’s Children and Gift Shop in Seminole, Okla.
Vivian is survived by her daughters, Barbara Ann Ply of Flagstaff, Ariz., and Virginia Dell Stanley of North Carolina. She is also survived by her sister, Geraldine "Jerry" Sullivan of Seminole, Okla., three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Her parents; her husband, Harold; two brothers, James Barnett Matthews and Winford F. Matthews, Jr. and her son-in-law, John W. Ply, who died March 23, 2013, preceded her in death.
Funeral services are planned for 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at the First United Methodist Church, with Rev. Gary Wilburn, officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Okla.
Afton Mosley
Feb. 12, 1936 – Nov. 14, 2013
Leon Mosley, 77 years old longtime Wewoka resident and a man of great faith enter into Heaven on Nov. 14, 2013, after a long illness.
Leon was born in LeHigh, Okla. to Clarence and Mertie Mosley. Leon was one of 15 children.
Left behind to anticipate the day when we will all be with him again is his wife, Deane, his high school sweetheart and the love of his life of 59 years, of the home; two children, Mark and wife Tina of Wewoka, Sharla and husband Jon of Guthrie; nine amazing grandchild, Brandon and wife Tammy Mosley of Atlanta, GA., Brian and wife Valerie Mosley of Atlanta, GA., Blake Mosley of Corpus Christi, Tex., Bo Mosley of Austin, Tex., Health and wife Jessica Mosley of Wewoka, Melissa Martin and husband Jessie of Wewoka, Britney Chandler and husband Ryan of Guthrie, Justin and Landry Chappell of Guthrie, and seven beautiful great-grand children, Connor, Afton, Kennedy, Brooke, and Elle Mosley, Braylen Chandler and Jaxie Martin.
He also leaves behind a very loved daughter-in-law, Genis Mosley of Corpus Christi, Tex.
His wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the loves of his life.
He is also survived by two brothers, Floyd Mosley of Philomath, Ore., Bill and wife Brenda of Denton, Tex., Sisters, Ellen and Husband Kenneth Satterwhite, of Spencer, Okla., Sue and husband Travis Admundson of Washington.
He also leaves behind a host of other family and friends who loved him, loved to laugh, visit and joke with him.
His last words were, "Tell them all how much I love them." If few words could describe Leon it would be loving, kind and generous.
He is preceded in death by his son, Terry, who he was anxious to be with again; his parents; brothers, Cleo, Jack, Ralph, Lloyd, Junior and Ellis; sisters, Maxine, Evelyn, Lorine and Florine.
Please join us in a celebration of Leon’s life on Monday, Nov. 18, 2013, 2 p.m. at First Baptist church Wewoka. Dear pastor and friend, Jay Badry will officiate the service. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Wewoka.
Pallbearers for the celebration will be his seven grandsons and husbands of the two granddaughters.
Serving as honorary pall bearers will be the Adult II men’s Sunday School Class of First Baptist church, and the men who ate breakfast at the Frontier House and solved all the problems of the world and drilled many oil wells.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to the remodeling fund at First Baptist Church Wewoka.
Terry Mosley
Terry David Mosley entered the arms of the Master, our Heavenly Father on April 15, 2013. Words cannot express the loss he leaves behind.
Terry was born Nov. 22, 1955 in Wewoka, to Leon and Deane Mosley.
Those who continue on without him are the love of his life of 41 years, Genis and his four sons; Brandon and wife Tammy of Atlanta, Ga., Brian and wife Valerie of Atlanta, Ga., Blake of Corpus Christi Tex., Bo of Houston Tex., his mother and father, Leon and Deane Mosley of Wewoka; five beautiful grandchildren that he adored, Connor, Afton, Kennedy, Brooke, and Elle, Siblings; Mark and wife Tina Mosley of Wewoka, Sharla and husband Jon Chappell of Guthrie and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral Service will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday April 19, 2013 at the Wewoka First Baptist Church with Pastor Jay Badry officiating. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made to the Wewoka High School Alumni Association Scholarship Fund.

Minnie Mullins

Minnie Pearl (Floyd) Mullins, age 89 and a long-time resident of Konawa, Okla., passed away on Monday, Sept. 2, 2013 at Golden Age Nursing Home in Guthrie, Okla.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 7th at the First Baptist Church in Konawa under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa. Philip Mullins and Jim McMillan will officiate.
Pallbearers are her grandsons and honorary pallbearers are her granddaughters.
Minnie was born on July 18, 1924 in Punkin Center, Okla. to Robert E. Floyd and Nola Gertrude (Wilcoxson) Floyd.
She married Demoy E. Mullins, and worked as a janitor for the Konawa Schools.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church, and she enjoyed being with her grandchildren.
She is survived by three sons, Michael Demoy Mullins and wife, Carolyn of Prescott, Arkansas, Martin Lee Mullins and wife, Lisa of Edmond, Okla., and Philip Mullins and wife, Janet of Konawa, Okla.; two brothers, James Floyd of Thomas, Okla. and Joe Floyd of Marlow, Okla.; two sisters, Karleen West of Konawa and Martha Young of Amber, Okla.; 18 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Nola Floyd; her husband, Demoy E. Mullins; two daughters, Pam Borel and Patricia Collier; one infant son; three brothers, Lewis, Jack, and Marshall Floyd; and two sisters, Kathleen Williams and Louise Verner.
Norma Murray
Norma Lee (Atyia) Mitchell Murray was born on July 20, 1938, in Seminole, Okla., and departed this life on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013, in Prague Okla., at the age of 74.
Norma, the daughter of Shaheen M. and Nellie B. (Hill) Atyia, was a resident of Prague.
She graduated from Seminole High School with the class of 1956.
She married William Carrol Murray on Aug. 1, 1975. He preceded her in death on Aug. 16, 2007.
Norma worked as an administrative assistant for several companies including Morgan Well Service in Prague, Big Yank in Wewoka and Hattiesburg, MS, and the Baptist Children's Home in Water Valley, MS.
Norma attended Immanuel Fellowship Church in Seminole.
She was a member of the Red Czech Divas and the Red Rubies Red Hat clubs. She was the last queen of the Red Rubies before they disbanded.
Norma loved to cook, garden, and spend time with family and friends. She was always active in a church wherever she lived.
Her most joyous years were spent in Wewoka where her involvement in Faith Temple included teaching Sunday School and marriage counseling.
Her parents; sisters, Betty Atyia and Zekeah Pease; and brothers, Johnny Brown and Hammet Atyia also preceded Norma in death.
Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Susan and Ron Pinkerton of Rockwall, Tex., Teresa and George Reich of Shawnee, Okla., Melissa Weddle of Prague, Betty and Roger Cunningham of Seminole; step-daughter, Carol Murray of Brookhaven, Miss.; brothers and sisters-in-law, Haney and Sonia Atyia of New Braunfels, Tex., Freid and Pat Atyia of Seminole, Doug and Judy Atyia of Seminole; sisters and brother-in-law, Shirlene and Henry Pratka of Prague, Jo Ann Howell of Prague; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Ambassadors for Christ, P.O. Box 3967, Eagle Pass, TX 78853. The funds will be applied to a new church building in Piedras Negras, Mexico to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ.
The Murray family will receive friends on Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Parks Brothers Funeral Home in Prague.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Immanuel Fellowship Church in Seminole. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Seminole. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.
Vida Neill
Vida "Sue" Neill, age 83 years passed away Monday, June 24th, 2013 at Wewoka Care Center.
She was born Jan. 27th, 1930 in Lamar, Okla. to the late Lester Harold Robinson and Anna Faye (Carpenter) Robinson.
Sue graduated from Lamar school in 1947 and attended business school in Tulsa.
She received her teachers’ certificate from East Central College and later worked for Lillian Russell Garment Factory, Wewoka, Chaney Drug, and Seminole County Treasure Office.
She was a member of the Church of Christ in Wewoka.
Preceding Sue in death are her parents; husband, Olen Neill; daughter, Vickie Taylor; grandson, Eddie Neill; and a brother, Jimmy Dale Robinson.
Survivors include sons, Eddie Neill and wife, Nelda; Ace Neill and wife, Nancy all of Wewoka; grandchildren, Stephanie Neill, Shane Taylor, Russell Neill, and Jannetta Taylor; great-grandchildren Stephen Neill, Tanner Hawkins, Holly Hawkins, Tyler Hawkins, Jacob Neill, Natalee Neill, and Kylie Taylor; one sister, Natella Evins of Durant; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 27, 2013 at Church of Christ in Wewoka with Aaron Alsbrook officiating and burial will be at Holdenville Cemetery in Holdenville, Okla.
Pallbearers will be Rod Hawkins, Tyler Hawkins, Shane Taylor, Russell Neill, Tanner Hawkins, and Ronnie Keesee.
Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Reed, Jerry Boswell, Steven Neill, and Dewey Muirhead.
