Patterson Norvell passed from this life Aug. 7, 2013. He was surrounded by his friends and family.
Pat lived in Wewoka and is survived by his wife, Dawn; his two children, son, Robert and wife, Tammy of Springdale; and their two children, Robert and Jana Norvell of Kansas City, Mo. and Whitney and Jay Killebrew and daughter, Audrey of Springdale, Ar. and daughter, Ginger Posey and husband, Don of Konawa; and their two children Claire and Race.
Pat is also survived by a brother, Mike and wife, Ginger of Layfayette, La. and their daughters, Lesley and Thomas Dole of Mobile, Al. and Robin Norvell of San Francisco, Ca.; a sister, Nancy and husband, Mike Quigley of Mabank, Tx. their son, Scott and wife, Karin of Argyle, Tx.; along with daughters, Julia and Anna.
Also survived by his baby sister, Jane and Tom Baskin of Marietta, Ga and their two sons, Jeff and wife, Julie Baskin of Enola, Pa and their two children, Ethan and Ella and son, Steve Baskin of Marietta, Ga.
Also survived by his two step-children, Dusti and husband, Lenard Mathews of Seminole, Ok and their five children, Aaron, Sarah and Luke Parks and Sam and Carly Mathews, and Josh Hopper of Tulsa, Ok.
In the past Pat had been president of the Chamber of Commerce, golf association President, and on the Wewoka school board for 13 years, as well as the President of the Central States Beefmaster Association and board member of Beefmaster International.
There will be a family only private memorial for Pat on August 24 and a celebration of Pat's life for all of his friends, location to be announced.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Boy Scouts of America.
Christopher Notah
Christopher Robert Notah, lifelong Seminole resident died Monday, Nov. 4, 2013 in Seminole at the age of 48.
He was born Sept. 11, 1965 in Roswell, N.M. to John Notah, Jr. and Diana Sue (Walker) Notah.
He was a civilian contractor at Walter Reed Hospital and was a barber in Wewoka.
He is survived by his father, John Notah, Jr. and step-mother Cathey Notah of Mesa, Ariz.; three sons, James Notah of Seminole, John Notah, III of Phoenix, Ariz., Dakota Notah of Seminole; one daughter, Alisha Calhoun of Seminole; one sister, Janell Notah of Lawton, Okla.; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Diana Walker Smith; and one brother, Matthew Notah.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, 2013 at Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole with cremation to follow.
Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.
John Nuckolls
Sept. 10, 1922 – Mar. 22, 2013
John Winston Nuckolls, 90 year-old longtime Maud resident, passed from this life Friday, March 22, 2013, in Oklahoma City, Okla.
He was born Sept. 10, 1922 in Mazie, Okla. to parents, Junia Blanche (Mason) Nuckolls and John Henry Nuckolls.
Following graduation from Pryor High School, John joined the United States Marine Corps in 1940.
Then on Oct. 3, 1947, he married Madelaine Rose Gattolliat in San Rafael, Calif.
John then in 1958, enlisted in the United States Air Force where the family was stationed at Aviano Air Base, Italy where he held the rank of Senior Master Sergeant.
In 1966, John and his family returned to Oklahoma where he was still serving in the United States Air Force and had earned the rank of Chief Master Sergeant, they were stationed at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma City.
After 30 years seven months and 18 days of active federal service, John, a World War II Veteran, retired in 1971.
Just prior to his retirement John moved his family to a farm in Maud, Okla. in 1967 from Midwest City, Okla.
There they raised three sons. Sadly they had one son, Johnny Ross Nuckolls, who was killed in Italy while riding his bicycle at the age of 12 years old.
Retirement didn’t seem to be a part of John’s vocabulary as he continued to work for Maud Public Schools as a bus driver and custodian.
He also drove a bus for Gordon Cooper Vo-Tec. While all of the time raising cattle, working his farm, and trying to keep the beavers from damming up the river.
John loved his God, family, church and community. He was a longtime member of the Trinity Baptist Church in Maud.
He was also a member of the Seminole American Legion and helped deliver "Meals on Wheels" for the Nutrition Center in Maud.
If you had the opportunity to know John for very long, you knew that you would be greeted every time by "Howdy, Neighbor."
On May 22, 2002, John’s wife, Madelaine Nuckolls passed from this life.
Then on Oct. 16, 2003, John married Bobby Jean (Glenn) Lilley in Maud, Okla. Together John and Bobby continued to raise cattle and work the farm.
John leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Bobby Nuckolls of the home; three sons and daughters-in-law, Martin and Gay Nuckolls of Irving, Tex., George and Leslie Nuckolls of Seminole, Okla., Henry and Vicki Nuckolls of Irving, Tex.; three step-daughters and their spouses, Linda and Jesse Campos of Pearsall, Tex., Terri Logan and Paul Campoz of Cleburne, Tex., Barbara and Dennis Carter of Roanoke, Va.; twenty three grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren and a host of other dear family and friends.
John was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Madelaine Nuckolls; one son, Johnny Ross Nuckolls; one step-son, Butch Nuckolls; and by one sister, Mildred June Jones.
Funeral services with full military honors will be held 10:30 a.m., Friday, March 29, 2013 at Trinity Baptist Church in Maud with Rev. Rusty McMullen officiating the service.
Casket bearers will be John’s grandsons and great-grandsons.
Honorary casket bearers will be Charlie Pearce, the men of Trinity Baptist Church, Togy Lewis, Herb Buchanan and Steve Wall.
Interment will follow at Fort Gibson National Cemetery in Fort Gibson, Okla. at 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 1, 2013.
Services are under the direction of Knight-Swearingen Funeral Home in Maud.
Jim Nutt
Jim Nutt, age 85 years of Wewoka, went to be with his Lord and Savior Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2013 in Shawnee, Okla.
He was born Nov. 23, 1928 in Wewoka, to the late Freddy Nutt and Lula Charles Nutt.
He attended school at Nobletown.
Jim married Lorene "Sally" House, Aug. 16, 1950 in Wewoka, she preceded him in death.
Jim was a Truck Driver for Seminole County for a number of years.
He was a member of Cedar Street Church of Christ and ordained deacon.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2013 at Stout-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Billy Renfro officiating and burial at Westwood Cemetery.

Lucinda Obregon
Lucinda Renee Obregon, 43, former Seminole area resident died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013 in Hollywood, Fla.
She was born Sept. 6, 1965 to Gay (Shipp) Sweeney and Rufus Oliver Sweeney.
She is survived by her husband, Enrique Obregon of Tulsa, Okla.; her mother, Gay Sweeney of Tulsa; one son, Rick Oliver Sweeney and daughter, Obregona Sweeney both of Tulsa.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, Feb. 15, 2013 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Ed Lowery officiating. Burial will follow at the family cemetery near Maud, Okla.
Funeral services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Larry O’Connell
Larry M. O’Connell, age 77 of Del City, entered into eternal rest on the afternoon of Thursday, May 16, 2013.
He was born to James Francis O’Connell and Charlie Mae (Moore) Harwell on Dec. 7, 1935.
Larry graduated from Seminole High School in 1954, before attending Bradley University in Illinois. He continued his education by taking college level courses at Tinker Air Force Base and Rose State College.
He married Marjorie Ann Love on May 11, 1957, in Oklahoma City.
Larry was a proud member of the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged after twenty years of dedicated service during which he served during the Korean Conflict and Vietnam and saw service in Japan and Thailand.
After retiring from the Air Force, Larry worked for Baptist Medical Center as a Biomedical Engineer and later for Digital Development Corporation, where he worked as an Electrical Engineer.
Larry also founded and operated LOMO, LLC, a real estate holdings company.
Family and friends were Larry’s passion and delight. He grew up spending summers and vacations with his family.
He loved to teach all of his grandchildren everything he knew about work and life.
He also had a passion for community and served as Del City Councilman for Ward 2, from December of 2001 to April of 2009.
While a councilman, Larry oversaw completion of the new City Hall, Eagle Park pool and park, May 3rd tornado reconstruction, and the new police station and municipal court building.
He also was a Trustee on the Del City Economic Development Authority, and on the board of the Del City Chamber of Commerce.
Larry was also very involved with his faith and his church, Del City Christian Church where he was a Deacon Emeritus.
Larry was a dedicated member of the Ancient Free and Accepted Mason of the State of Illinois, Schiller Lodge No. 335. He was a 32 degree Mason and was recognized with the 50-year service pin by the Peoria Heights Lodge in 2002.
His parents; brothers, Steve Harwell, Charles "Smokey" O'Connell, James "Corky" O'Connell; and sister, Jean O'Connell, preceded Larry in death.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Marjorie O'Connell of Del City; daughters and sons-in-law, Marcy and Bob Flaniken, and Linda and Xavier Neira; grandchildren, Aysha Marie Fitzgerald, James Brendon Martin Fitzgerald, Taylor B. Hale (Emily), Madison W. White (James), and Alexandra Neira; great-grandchildren, Bradlee Fitzgerald, Kimberlyn Fitzgerald, Karma Fitzgerald, Kassie Fitzgerald, Ella White, Shannon Marie White; sisters, Carolyn Alexander of Mustang and Linda Sue Cook of Moore; brother and sister-in-law, Pat and Audrey O'Connell of Rock Springs, WY; and other relatives and many friends.
Larry will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Viewing will be at Parks Brothers Funeral Home in Prague on Sunday, May 19, 2013 from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.; Monday, 8:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m.; and at Del City Christian Church from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Tuesday.
Memorials may be made in Larry's name to the American Heart Association.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at 1:00 p.m., at Del City Christian Church in Del City with Rev. Wes Collier officiating. Interment will follow at the Prague Cemetery at 4:00 p.m. with full military honors.
Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.
Larry Odell
Larry Edward Odell, Sr., 59, a resident of Asher, Okla., died Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2013 at Mercy Hospital in Ada.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 11 at the First Baptist Church in Asher under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa. Burial will follow at Vista Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Brett Odell, Joe Ray Milburn, Jake Zumwalt, Ronnie Lynn Odell, Bob Gladden, and Jim Sharp.
Visitation will be Thursday from 8:30 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Swearingen Funeral Home in Konawa.
He was born Aug. 5, 1954 in Ada to Eugene and Valeta (Stehr) Odell.
He graduated from Asher High School in 1972 and served in the U.S. Marines for four years.
He married Lisa Elizabeth Wilkerson on Dec. 21, 1973 at Garland, Tex.
He worked as a welder for Holt’s Trailer Sales in Asher for over twenty years, and he was a volunteer for the Asher Fire Department.
He is survived by his wife, Lisa Odell of the home; one son, Larry Odell, Jr. of Asher; two daughters, Amie Williamson of Asher, and Michelle Ranells of Konawa; two brothers, Sonny Odell of Asher, and Leroy Odell of Asher; two sisters, Eileen Gladden of Asher, and Peggy Allen of St. Louis, Okla.; and nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Valeta Odell.
